“Festival of anti-Semitism” – Renewed call for ban on Berlin Al-Quds march

“We must not allow the destruction of Israel to be called for on German streets,” said the president of the German-Israeli Society, Uwe Becker, in Berlin on Wednesday.

According to the police, 2,000 participants have been registered for the Al-Quds march of Israelophobes, anti-Semites and Holocaust deniers along Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm planned for May 8.

Becker stressed that “such a disgusting day of action” should not be permanently treated as a normal protest in Germany. “The day once launched by Ayatollah Khomeini pursues a clear goal and endangers the internal peace in our country.” He therefore called for a blanket ban on “this ‘festival day of anti-Semitism'”.
Al-Kuds or Jerusalem Day was initiated in 1979 by the then Iranian revolutionary leader Ayatollah Khomeini and calls on Muslims to conquer Jerusalem and destroy Israel. In Iran, this day is an official holiday.
