On Christmas Day, Bishop Ivo Muser celebrated the Christmas service with the faithful in Bolzano Cathedral. Before the sermon, however, there was a disturbing and provocative incident.
According to the South Tyrolean media, the incident took place on Christmas Day in Bolzano Cathedral. Pro-Palestinian supporters suddenly disrupted the peaceful and contemplative mass. Shouting loudly, they positioned themselves in front of the faithful and put up a poster. It read: “There is genocide in Gaza…Christmas is cancelled…for a free Palestine.”
The police have since begun an investigation. They did not intervene during the mass. Bishop Muser had prayed a prayer for peace for Ukraine, the Holy Land and all war zones during the Christmas mass.
