Austria: Islamist terror bombing foiled in Bregenz

The refugee wanted to kill a fellow citizen with a car bomb. The police monitored the Vienna resident and were thus able to prevent the attack.

“They (the police officers) told me that they had been tracking the man for months and had overheard every word he said. They discovered that he was planning to install a bomb under my car to kill me,” the rescued Magomadov told the newspaper STANDARD.

The background to the foiled crime is said to have taken place as early as July 4, 2020. On that day, an attack was carried out on a critic of the Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov. The dissident Anzor Umarov was shot dead in Gerasdorf near Vienna. Magomadov then published a YouTube video in which he accused three people of being involved in the assassination in Gerasdorf. The Chechens, who had come to Austria as refugees, were allegedly arms dealers and supporters of the radical Islamic Kadyrov regime.

Magomadov agreed, but on the other hand he could not refrain from further criticism of Kadyrov. For this, his brother and uncle were to suffer in a torture cellar in Chechnya. They had to distance themselves from Magomadov via video recording and apologise to Kadyrov. Then they were released and there was peace, at least temporarily – until the Austrian police informed them of the planned assassination attempt on him.

It is absolutely incomprehensible that such conflicts are being brought to Austria by the misguided refugee and migration policy. Anyone who still claims that Islam and its sometimes militant members do not need to be monitored is probably living in a goody-goody world that is out of touch with reality. For there is obviously a constant and increasing threat. It is better to monitor one too often than one too little. This is not discriminatory, but unfortunately a matter of urgency.
