Austria: Iranian threatens to blow up bank because he was not allowed to overdraw the account limit

An Iranian citizen demanded an overdraft facility of several thousand euros on his account at a bank branch in the Leopodstadt district of Vienna. When the bank employee told him that this was not possible, the 39-year-old man went berserk.

First he threatened to shoot the employee. When colleagues came to her aid, he went completely berserk. He would blow up the bank, the Iranian threatened. The man also behaved aggressively towards the alarmed police officers. He was arrested. During questioning, the man denied all threats. By order of the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office, he was released.
