Five people died and at least ten more were injured after a man opened fire in the historic center of Kraków, Poland.
The unprecedented mass shooting took place at Krakow’s Main Square (Główny Rynek), one of the city’s major tourist attractions at around 3 p.m. local time.
According to one account, a man in a black car drove across the square in black car and began shooting.
The assailant was reportedly neutralized by police and taken to a hospital.
So far, no motive for the terror attack has been reported.
Disturbing videos posted on X show people fleeing the Square and crouching for protection as multiple gunshots ring out.
Another video appears to show police firing at the terrorist as he lay wounded on the ground.
Hitherto Poland has been spared the terrorist attacks that have plagued western Europe for the past 25 years. However, there was a recent attack on priests and faithful in a Polish Catholic retreat center near the nation’s border with Ukraine.
