Integration presupposes a gravitational centre; when that centre dissolves, those who arrive do not adapt: they impose themselves. And they are right to do so. No dominant culture “integrates” with its predecessors once it has inherited their space.
The German journalist Julian Reichelt (formerly of Bild) sums it up clearly:
“Their soldiers arrive without weapons, because they know the West no longer defends itself; they have no need of weapons. In this way they complete their objective of conquest and subjugation by demographic means. If we continue to believe that adventurers with individual motives are arriving, we are suicidally mistaken. What is arriving is an army of Muhammad that feels an inner and sacred mandate to erase our weak culture.”
For the first time in recorded history, a civilization has decided that the most enlightened virtue is to surrender its culture, heritage, women, and children without putting up any defence. Suicidal empathy shall prove to be the demise of the West.
Abdul Ballout used a van to kill LGBT people at Berlin Pride. Many demonstrators were decked out in the usual Gaza gear, progressively unaware of their future appointment with Iran’s Islamic crane operators.
The bigger story, however, is another.
Abdul left Germany in 2025 to join ISIS in Syria. He was arrested in Lebanon and imprisoned for three months before doing a waltz back to Germany where he was arrested again.
He was not imprisoned, however; he was handed over to an organisation called “Violence Prevention Network” to follow a “deradicalisation” course.
Four women were supposed to set him back on the right path: Judy Korn, Ella Goldschmied, Ariana Wolfe and Cornelia Lotthammer. Their biographies are full of the usual “social justice, right-wing extremism, gender identity, misogyny, equality,” but nothing about Islam.
The Violence Prevention Network receives a lot of federal funding in Germany and is a founding member of the European Commission’s Radicalisation Awareness Network (RAN).
Sending a terrorist to a course run by activists specialising in right-wing extremism and gender equality is like treating a bacterial infection with a Bach flower infusion.
Not only does it not work, it reinforces the perception that the West is weak, confused and ready to destroy itself.
A bit like the barrier at Ceuta: it cost billions and proves useless.
We continue to pretend that an ideology of conquest can be domesticated with a certificate of attendance, an inclusive smile and a fence full of holes and without police or soldiers.
The images and videos of the invasion of Ceuta show a “Fortress Europe” so weak and whose guards are so powerless that they simply let themselves be overwhelmed.
They show a European Union that, despite its governments, its armed forces and police authorities, despite its tens of thousands of professional politicians, despite all its laws and regulations, despite all the think tanks, expert tables, summits of who-knows-what and all the ideological junk, capitulates before men who swim a few hundred metres from Morocco.
The real question is therefore not how many men are crossing European borders.
Here too the bigger story is another: why are so many citizens still surprised by the impotence of governments, when this impotence now seems to constitute a way of governing? What many take for administrative incapacity looks rather like a civilisational choice. We continue to talk of “sovereignty” while we have progressively replaced the government of peoples with the administration of flows.
Western Jews have understood it and have already packed their bags.
More than the victory of those who knock at Europe’s doors, the drama lies in the profound doubt of those Europeans who no longer know why these doors still exist.
