In a video posted on social media, the suspect appears to be pinned to the ground by several individuals. He seems somewhat disoriented and says: “It was Allah who ordered me to do it.” Speaking to the press, Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said he remained “very cautious about the motive behind this violent act” committed by a man “making incoherent statements.” The suspect provided a self-declared identity that still needs to be verified. According to a source close to the investigation, he has the profile of a “mentally disturbed individual.”
