I actually saw some tweets on this the other day, but since I couldn’t find an actual news report source to confirm it, I passed it by. As it turns out though, it was in fact a completely true story, with bigger outlets picking up on it now: Denmark is punishing its senior citizens in nursing homes by revoking their meat privileges almost entirely, because they “screwed up the most” with the climate.
Per an item from the New York Post, the new guidelines issued by the Danish government, which either already took effect or are set to take effect (it’s not clear exactly which) at “government-run sites” in Copenhagen, restrict the consumption of meat to just 2.8 ounces per week, which works out to be less than half-an-ounce per day (.4 ounces). For context, that’s the weight of 4–5 pennies, or about a bite of meat.
Now some of those “government-run sites” include elderly care facilities, and when a proposal to exclude the old folks from the new guidelines came up for debate, Birgitte Kehler Holst, a leftist politician dissented, saying the elderly should be “punished” with the measure, because they are “precisely the generation that has screwed up the most.”
It’s important to recognize where we’re at, because we’re edging closer to a Soylent Green or Torching the Dusties world.
Now, I completely get the anger and resentment for particular generations in general—I really do—but that should not apply to the individuals, and it should not translate into abusive and unjust punishment. It’s how I feel when someone who had the opportunity to buy a Sears mansion kit home for $10k and spend 40 years building wealth because things were affordable tells me to “quit bitchin’” about high gas prices, accept amnesty “compromises,” or pull myself up by my bootstraps, having no clue how hard I work to just barely make ends meet. It’s also how I feel with my own millennial generation when I remember that a significant number of them vote Democrat, when I see mothers my age taking their young children to “drag” brunches to be sexualized by pedophilic men because they’re happy to sacrifice their flesh and blood for wokester credentials, or when they play activist for movements that foment total chaos (open borders, mass migration, BLM, etc.).
We’ve all got our complaints and issues with one another, but that should never be the root of government policy—government should be based on objective morality and justice. Of course, I’m not offering a great comparison because Holst’s anger and resentment isn’t even founded in reality, but in her mind, it is. And that delusion is propelling the West toward democide.
So that’s where we’re at, at the precipice of the democide cliff, and it’s up to us to rein things back in and restore sanity and righteousness to the public square.
