A cool drink in the shady pub garden, a refreshing swim in the lake, a dreamlike panorama in the mountains – summer can be so beautiful. But unlike in the past, when it was eagerly awaited, today it is a cause for alarm for many mainstream media.
In just five days, however, the temperatures will drop again anyway: while the thermometer in Vienna shows more than 30 degrees at the weekend and at the beginning of the week, the temperatures will drop to 27 degrees on Thursday – just five degrees above a usual room temperature.
But it’s not only getting cooler in Vienna – starting in Bregenz, a storm front is already cooling temperatures from Monday. In the capital of Vorarlberg, temperatures drop to 26 degrees at the beginning of the week. In Innsbruck and Salzburg it will also be cooler at the beginning of the week – after temperatures initially drop to 29 degrees, they will drop to 27 degrees on Wednesday.
Some heavy summer thunderstorms may also occur in Graz, St. Pölten and Klagenfurt from Monday. Temperatures will remain above 30 degrees for the time being. It will cool down on Wednesday – 29 degrees Celsius are expected, dropping to 27 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
Linz and Eisenstadt will initially be spared heavy rain – but there may be isolated showers. From Wednesday, however, thunderstorms are expected here as well. Temperatures will drop to 27 degrees on Thursday.
In Vienna only isolated thunderstorms are expected – especially on Wednesday.
