Reduxx has learned that a trans-identified male high school student has been quietly participating in girls sports, earning accolades intended for young female athletes. Charlie Rothenberger, who now goes by “Marissa,” was transitioned by his parents at an extremely early age and is now drawing ire from his female teammates as more are becoming aware that he is biologically male.

Rothenberger is a 17-year-old student at Champlin Park High School in Champlin, Minnesota. He currently plays as a starting pitcher for his girl’s high school fastpitch team, where he has been credited with helping the school dominate softball competitions. Earlier this month, the first game of the new softball season kicked off against the Minnesota State Champions, Rogers High School. Rothenberger, who stands 6′ tall, was able to easily lead Champlin to victory against the defending champions with a “shut out” via 14 strikeouts and a double base hit of his own.

In an interview last year when he was a sophomore, one of the coaches said that Rothenberger had been doing a “phenomenal job,” with the pitcher himself suggesting his biological advantage was merely him “mixing different speeds” of the ball and “keeping [the other team] off-balanced.”

Another softball account on X dedicated to “highlighting the next generation of softball players” praised a “really hard hit to the outfield” by Rothenberger.

Rothenberger has also played for Midwest Speed Softball, an elite-level softball club team that travels around the country for competitions. On his player profile, he brags about having attained an All State Award last season due to his pitching.

“From watching college pitchers and trying to emulate them, to now striving to become one,” he writes. “I am passionate in doing what it takes to be the best I can be.”

In July of 2024, Rothenberger was named Player of the Month by the Heart of America Elite Fastpitch League. In his biography on the site, he lists one of his goals as playing “Division 1 softball in college.” 

While Rothenberger has participated in girls sports from an early age and has never publicly stated he identifies as transgender, Reduxx has obtained documents showing that his mother, Heather Rothenberger, applied to the Hennepin County District Court to alter his birth certificate shortly after his 9th birthday.

The petition was approved, and Rothenberger was issued a new birth certificate showing that he was born “female” and altering his name from “Charlie Dean” to “Marissa.” Minnesota is one of many states where altered birth certificates do not need to signify that the original document was altered.

But while Rothenberger has managed to conceal his sex throughout most of his school history, his teammates and competitors have recently become aware. One anonymous female softball player from Minnesota, who played on the same team as Rothenberger in 2023, spoke to Reduxx under the condition of anonymity.

The girl noted that it took years before she realized Rothenberger was a boy, believing at first he was simply just an “awkward” girl.

“We were never really that close because I never had anything in common with him. I never thought he was a boy, but after finding out he was a boy and then looking back on a lot of things I wouldn’t have looked at before, [it] definitely shows he is a boy, and I felt dumb for missing the clues,” she told Reduxx. The player said she initially discovered his true identity in July of 2024 during the 2023/24 season when “no one was really talking about it,” but added that by November of that year, “lots of people from the softball community found out the truth and were openly talking about it.”

According to the player, Rothenberger regularly used the female bathrooms, even rooming with other girls when the team travelled across the country, while none of the girls he shared facilities or bedrooms with was aware that he is male. “Looking back now, it disgusts me and is just scary,” she said.

The player described Rothenberger’s athletic performance compared to the other girls as being “completely unreal,” saying he is able to do “so much more” than girls who train with the exact same coaches. “He is able to be relied on as a pitcher, and took opportunities away from girls who deserved them most,” she said.

She told Reduxx that she felt “upset” and “uncomfortable” that males are being allowed to play on the same team as women, especially being told that “as a girl I just have to learn to accept that men can take advantage of you even if they just want to identify as a female.”

The girl adds that she is frustrated and hurt by the whole ordeal.

“Many players and I work so hard to achieve something through this sport and we find it unfair that our spot can be stolen from us,” she continued. “This shouldn’t be allowed and boys can stay in boys sports and leave us girls alone. I shouldn’t have to learn this lesson that girls don’t matter or that we need to just be silent while we lose out so a boy feels okay.”

The revelations have drawn concern from the Independent Council On Women’s Sport (ICONS), which is now raising the alarm about a concerning phenomenon involving a new wave of male athletes who were socially and medically transitioned as young boys. As some of them may have had their birth records falsified at an extremely early age, there may be no public record of their true sex, making it possible for them to participate in women’s sports virtually undetected and beyond the reach of many of the current policies intended to protect women’s sports.

Rothenberger is just one example of many trans-identified males who have managed to slip under the radar in women’s sports after transitioning at a young age, with legal records of their true identity often hidden away.

In 2023, Reduxx learned that Tate Drageset, a 17-year-old volleyball player from California, was set to become the first known male recipient of a women’s Division 1 (D1) athletic scholarship after having falsified his identity from the age of 6. Prior to the Reduxx exposé, no record existed that Drageset was biologically male. Following our report, Drageset’s mother e-mailed Reduxx and stated that the University of Washington had informed them that they would “no longer honor their verbal commitment” to him.

Speaking to Reduxx, Kim Jones of ICONS said it was “frustrating” to hear people argue that “so long as women and girls don’t know they are being replaced by a boy or competing against a boy or undressing next to a boy, then it’s ok, the girls shouldn’t care.” Jones compared tolerance for the deception to those who “hand-wave away voyeurism or sexual assault” when a victim is drunk, asleep, or unaware.

“It makes these young girls learn early in life that it is acceptable for them to be abused and taken advantage of by boys so long as everyone looks the other way and it’s hidden to a certain level of satisfaction,” Jones said. “These girls need to know they are important enough to be treated fairly in public while they play sports, as well as in private and that protection is incumbent upon leadership in sports and in schools to ensure.”

On the issue of boys like Rothenberger, whose documents were falsified at a young age to conceal their birth sex, Jones says the problem is bound to get worse.

“We are seeing the first drips through the faucet of young boys who were subjected to gender ideology from a really young age and there are thousands more of these boys out there now who are even younger and will impact girl’s sports for the next decade in increasing numbers,” she says.

Jones notes that current policies being drafted with the intention of protecting female athletes fail to address this growing problem.

“Policy makers need to think beyond men like Lia Thomas. Looking at birth certificates and enrollment history is not enough. We need sex screening so that girls and women aren’t left with an even more difficult situation in ten years. Sex is not private information and can be screened through already universally required pre-participation physicals, which include medical history, or a simple cheek swab.”

An Ivorian migrant has been jailed for five years for the rape of a 23-year-old French woman.

The Lorient Criminal Court sentenced Vassindou Junior Méïté on Monday to a custodial sentence after he was convicted of sexually assaulting a young woman who found herself stranded after a night out in the French town back in September 2023.

On Sept. 17, having lost access to her home, the victim accepted an invitation to spend the night in a shared apartment in Lorient. There, Méïté — who was present in the apartment — raped her despite her repeated refusals. According to the court’s findings, the woman was held down and strangled during the attack.

While her screams were reportedly heard by others in nearby rooms and apartments, no one intervened.

After the assault, the victim managed to lock herself in the bathroom and contact friends, who then helped her by calling the police.

At trial, Méïté denied any violence, claiming that the sexual encounter was consensual and attempting to explain away the victim’s injuries as the result of “somewhat rough” but voluntary behavior.

He claimed the allegations were false and accused the victim of crocodile tears as she appeared in court visibly upset and accompanied by her mother.

“I never saw her not cry. No, her tears are not feigned,” her lawyer said in response to the defendant’s remarks.

The attack has reportedly had a long-lasting psychological impact on the victim, who has difficulty sleeping and now has an overreliance on alcohol.

Méïté’s version of events was contradicted by medical reports, which documented visible signs of strangulation, bruises, and finger marks, consistent with forceful assault.

This conviction was not Méïté’s first encounter with the justice system. At the time of the Lorient rape, he was already under judicial supervision for another rape allegation. In that earlier case, prosecutors chose to reclassify the charge as sexual assault, reportedly to spare the victim, in a fragile psychological state, from the trauma of testifying in an assize court, which would have required a much larger trial by jury.

Méïté ultimately faced no trial in that case due to a dismissal of proceedings.

The court in Lorient sentenced him to five years in prison, accompanied by a 10-year ban from French territory upon his release.

Beyond the courtroom, the case has triggered debate over the media’s portrayal of such crimes. Breizh-Info noted how several media outlets referred to Méïté only as a “Briochin,” a resident of Saint-Brieuc, omitting his Ivorian nationality until the final paragraphs — if mentioned at all.

This is evidenced in a report by Le Télégramme, which led with the line: “A 21-year-old man from Brioche was sentenced on Monday, April 28, by the court of Lorient, to 5 years in prison for the rape of a woman from Lorient in September 2023.”

Voters head to the polls today for local elections which are seen as a perfect opportunity for Nigel Farage’s Reform UK to show its worth as a rising political force.

Terrible timing then, so far as Keir Starmer is concerned, for former Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair to blast the current government’s net zero agenda as “irrational” because voters are being asked—or, in many cases, forced—to make serious sacrifices despite making “minimal” differences to the planet.

A report from Blair’s institute was received furiously by Labour, with local officials saying they were “incredibly p****d off” about the impact it could have on the local elections. One party source also bashed the ex-PM’s “public tantrum” as “really unhelpful.” The story splashed on most national newspapers on Wednesday.

The row got worse after Environment Secretary Steve Reed praised Blair for making a “valid and important contribution,” adding that he agreed “with much of what he said.” And senior officials later refused to guarantee that Net Zero Secretary Ed Miliband will keep his job.

Farage was, of course, delighted by the very public row, hailing on social media:

Even Tony Blair now says the push for net zero has become “irrational” and “hysterical.”

The Reform leader believes net zero could be the new Brexit, “where parliament is so hopelessly out of touch with the country.”

The Tony Blair Institute report said that simply limiting fossil fuels was “doomed to fail” and pushed for a different approach.

By the time Blair U-turned, attempting to paint Starmer’s approach as “the right one,” the damage had already been done. The green agenda’s role in this week’s major blackouts across the Iberian Peninsula will also have helped to paint a picture of just how dangerous the road to net zero is.

Not that Blair is guilt-free on this front, nor that his institute’s report is not still wedded to the view that Europe must act to avoid a climate emergency. Perhaps, as Net Zero Watch’s Andrew Montford suggested, he is simply trying to “remain on the right side of history.”

A total of 1,641 council seats are up for grabs today in 23 local authorities in England. Polling stations will close at 10 p.m.

What at first glance appears to be the next outrageous and scandalous demand from a troublemaker with an affinity for terrorism and even a proven IS supporter is actually just the logical consequence of the situation in Germany 10 years after Angela Merkel’s historic sabotage of an asylum system previously based on the rule of law and once functioning border protection: the convicted Merkel guest and Syrian Abdulhadi B. has been obliged to leave the country since 2018 – but he cannot be deported because of the ‘civil war in Syria’, which has been over for years. With a grin, B. is now turning the German state’s self-imposed restrictions and powerlessness against the state itself – and declares that he is prepared to leave Germany if he is paid 144,000 euros to do so. This caveman has got it; he is clever!

What seems brazen is in principle only logical: a state that allows itself to be made a fool of like the Federal Republic of Germany, whose Basic Law, which was once conceived for completely different cases and basic assumptions, now has to serve as the basis for abuse and adventurous impositions against all normal common sense, deserves nothing better. We cannot even be angry with the “refugee”; it is our own fault that we a) tolerate and support such beings here, b) continue to tolerate them, c) cannot get rid of them and d) do not at least send them to detention pending deportation. Our politics would have it no other way. The case of Abdulhadi B. is yet another symptom of the failure of German migration policy.

The fact that Abdulhadi B. is shamelessly exploiting Syria’s “ security situation” would not even be the problem; this probably applies to the majority of the approximately 1 million Syrians in Germany. The problem is rather that the anti-German policy of self-destruction continues in this country and is currently being cemented in the next government for another four years. The fact that a staunch supporter of a terrorist organisation can stay in Germany and even demand money to leave the country shows how dysfunctional the system is, but it is no longer surprising. The Germans have already paid huge sums of money to governments to take back their own citizens, who are flown out by the federal police in adventurous and life-threatening deportation flights at huge logistical expense – either in the form of special payments subject to secrecy (also in cash) or in the form of ‘development aid’.
The German fools who are financing this folly with their tax money are still playing along and keeping quiet. Meanwhile, the inability of politicians to even effectively control people like B., who of course have no right to be here, let alone deport them, is undermining trust in state institutions – not to mention security and social cohesion.

Alleged medical professionals pushed a 14-year-old girl to have a double mastectomy and present herself as a boy, according to a new documentary.

IW Features (IWF) has an ongoing series called “Identity Crisis,” exploring the medical malpractice of the pro-transgender “healthcare” complex, which pushes gender-confused children to get permanently damaging surgeries and take irreversible drugs. Notably, it is a biological fact that no one can change his or her gender.

The drugs and surgeries have been linked to suicidality, bone density loss, heart diseases, stroke, cancer, and numerous other medical problems. Puberty blockers also cause infertility, as would be expected from drugs intended to stop the normal development of the reproductive system.

The series recently profiled the horrifying story of Claire Abernathy, a self-described “tomboyish” girl who therapists and doctors pressured into having both breasts removed at the age of 14 – an eerily similar tale to that of fellow “detransitioner” Chloe Cole. “I feel wronged,” Claire says in the documentary.

Abernathy’s story tells a similar tale to that of other gender-confused teenagers who eventually saw the light and began to work to live comfortably in their own body despite gender dysphoria.

“Claire noted that she was first introduced to gender ideology online through Instagram and Tumblr, in addition to a sex education class in middle school where she was taught about the ‘genderbread person,’” the IWF summary states.

Helena Kerschner, another formerly gender-confused girl, previously told Michael Knowles that “Internet communities,” including on Tumblr, pushed her to identify as a boy. Furthermore, social scientists have compiled extensive data indicating that transgender identification is a “social contagion” and driven by peer pressure.

Abernathy said by 12 she considered herself fully a “boy.” She had been a victim of bullying and sexual abuse and was groomed online by an adult.

Her mom, Carrie Abernathy, said medical professionals did not address underlying mental health issues but rather said if she did not support “transitioning” then her daughter would likely commit suicide. Pro-transgender medical practitioners often use this baseless claim, and, in doing so, ignore that there are obviously mental health issues at play if someone will kill themselves if they cannot cross-dress or have mutilating surgery. (In fact, transgender surgeries are linked to higher rates of suicidality.)

Carrie said she “was not aware” that her daughter was “socially transitioning,” as her school hid it from her.

Claire noted that most individuals with “gender distress” end up desisting within a few years.

However, a “new therapist” “beat down” her parents. “They were told, ‘Your child has a medical condition that only has one treatment’,” Claire said.

“They were asked, ‘Would you have a dead daughter or a living transgender son’,” Claire recounts. Pro-transgender therapists regularly use this unscientific claim to coerce parents to chemically and surgically mutilate kids.

The alleged medical experts were eager to start Claire on drugs, as she shares how she started testosterone injections “a week after [her] 14th birthday” in late 2018.

She said she did not have any emotions when her voice began dropping and she began growing more body hair. Instead of stopping the injections, the medical professionals upped her dosage of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).

Soon after, in January 2018, Claire had a “15-minute” consultation to discuss removing her breasts. Carrie said the surgeon’s office provided little communication to her, as the mother.

On June 11, 2018, shortly after her eigth grade graduation, Claire had the surgery. Immediately after, she “cried” and was left “emotionally numb.”

The surgery caused further emotional and physical problems, including “open sores” and “open wounds” on her chest, as well as “numbness and pain” and “liquid coming out” where the “nipple grafts” were. She said the surgeon’s office ignored her concerns for month and then even dismissed her problems during a three-month follow-up appointment.

The surgery did not help her at all, as Claire said she simply went back to trying to identify with new gender “identities” before coming to realization she was, and always would be, a girl.

The documentary exposes the ongoing problem of gender ideology and its pervasive effects on America’s youth, according to the team behind the series.

“Claire and Carrie Abernathy’s story is becoming far too common,” editor-in-chief Kaylee McGhee White stated in a news release. “Impressionable and vulnerable children, and their parents who are desperate to help them, are being misled deliberately by medical professionals across the country.

“The affirmation-only approach being pushed by these professionals has cost families like the Abernathys greatly, and we’re proud to give them a platform from which to fight back,” White concluded.

A Ghanaian asylum seeker has been granted permission to remain in Britain after claiming that he was “too scared of getting Covid” to return to his home country.

Winfred Kwabla Dogbey, 52, was hospitalised with the virus back in 2020 before he endured multiple organ failure.

Now, diagnosed with PTSD and suffering from “post Covid-19 syndrome”, Dogbey is now an attendee of a support rehab group for those with similar “trauma”.

Such treatment and support is “practically non-existent” in Ghana, a tribunal heard.

Additionally, psychiatric care in his home country was also deemed “insufficient” for his diagnosis.

One letter given to the tribunal from GP revealed that the refugee suffered from moderately severe PTSD and major depressive disorder (MDD).

As a result, he won a claim to remain in the UK under the argument that he would endure a “rapid and severe decline in his mental health” if forced to return.

The migrant explained that “very significant obstacles” would block his integration there.

Judges on the panel agreed that Dogbey was “seriously ill” and were convinced that his issues “persist”.

However, Home Office lawyers insisted that the appropriate treatment and care were available in Ghana – even though they were deemed “insufficient” by Dogbey’s representatives.

Data presented to the tribunal revealed that 0.6 per cent of those in Ghana are treated for depression.

In the west African nation, they claimed that patients are “forcibly coerced, including being sedated and beaten, into taking the prescribed mental health medication, and are given electroconvulsive therapy without use of anaesthesia”.

The ruling said: “Ghanaians with severe mental health illnesses are referred to psychiatric hospitals and prayer camps.

“They experience ‘human rights abuses’ in both where they suffer further trauma.”

Judge Gill said: “Given the severe and systemic problems identified in the provision of mental health services, and with no evidence before us to suggest that the position is likely to change, we determine that mental health treatment is not reasonably likely to be accessible or become available to Mr Dogbey for his mental health conditions.

“We therefore find… that Mr Dogbey would face a real risk of being exposed to a serious, rapid and irreversible decline in his state of health resulting in intense suffering.”

Gill further ruled that he was allowed to remain in Britain under Article Three of the European Convention on Human Rights Act, which prohibits torture, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

A trans-identified male quietly dominated his age category at a national swimming championship held in Texas over the weekend, prompting concern from women’s rights groups. Ana Caldas, formerly known as Hugo Caldas and Hannah Caldas, took home multiple titles at the event.

The U.S. Masters Swimming Spring National Championship took place in San Antonio, Texas, from Thursday to Sunday. Competing in the women’s 45-49 age category for 02 Performance Aquatics was Ana Caldas, formerly known as Hugo.

Caldas entered five individual events during the meet: the 50 and 100 yard breaststroke, the 50 and 100 yard freestyle, and the 100 yard individual medley. Caldas came first in every event he entered, with beating out his female competitors by three seconds in the 100 yard freestyle and four seconds in the 50 and 100 yard breaststroke races.

A spokeswoman for the Independent Council on Women’s Sports (ICONS) told Reduxx that Caldas’ latter gains were “absolutely insane” for short sprint races. “He’s just laughing at these women,” she added.

ICONS was aware of Caldas’ participation at the meet, and expressed concern directly to the U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS) board in an email they sent on Saturday following Caldas’ first individual win at the event on April 24. In the email, ICONS outlines the board’s own policies on trans-identified males competing against women, which dictate that males must have had hormonal therapy and provide documentation showing testosterone levels are below 5 nmol/L, are woefully insufficient to protect female athletes.

“Transparency in these matters is critical to maintaining the integrity of the competition and the trust of all USMS athletes. There is no length of time during which testosterone suppression eliminates male advantage; therefore it should not serve as a guideline permitting men to compete in women’s swimming,” the letter reads. “At a minimum, it is USMS’s responsibility to enforce its current policy.”

USMS did not respond to ICONS’ email, and Caldas went on to sweep several more women’s events at the championship.

It is unclear whether any of the competitors who lost to Caldas were aware whether he was a biological male, as he has been competing as a woman in swimming, rowing, and Crossfit for decades, and has been careful to conceal his previous identity. However, Caldas’ birth name is still listed on multiple research papers he co-authored as an academic, and in records from Wake Forest University where he was a member of the faculty. Caldas also co-applied for a patent in 2004 using the names “Hugo” and “Hannah.”

Prior to identifying as a woman, Caldas participated on the Ohio Splash Team, a swim club for homosexual males.

From 2009 to 2012, Caldas competed in USMS women’s competitions, managing to collect 7 all-American honors during that time. In 2011, he was ranked by FINA, the World Aquatics governing body, as the fastest female masters swimmer in the world in the over 30 category for both the 50 meter and 100 meter freestyle.

Incredibly, Caldas was set to compete for Portugal at the 2012 Olympics in the women’s 50 meter freestyle, but failed to qualify by just 0.3 seconds. Since returning to swimming in 2021, Caldas has broken a World Aquatics record in the mixed relay, setting a new record at the South American championships in October last year. In March of last year, he won a women’s world title in the Masters 45–49 100m freestyle at the World Aquatics Masters World Championships in Doha, Qatar, despite World Aquatics’ 2023 policy barring male participation in women’s elite competition unless male puberty was suppressed before the age of twelve.

Out of all his lifetime achievements, Caldas has broken seven different individual US Masters records and six relay records, of which he still holds one and two respectively. He holds 37 state records in Arizona and North Carolina, and taken 22 national championship titles, with 15 of those being in individual events

In Crossfit competitions, which he competed in from 2012 to 2021, Caldas was ranked as the number one woman in his age category in his home country of Portugal from 2018 until his retirement from the sport. He has ranked highly in a number of competitions, including taking women’s prize money and first place in Croatia, Argentina and Cyprus from 2014 to 2016. This is all despite the fact that Crossfit did not allow trans-identified men to officially compete in the sport until 2019. Although the sport has recently undone this policy, there is no screening required.

During the global COVID-19 lockdowns, Caldas became the 2021 world champion in the open category of the indoor rowing world championships, and still currently co-holds the world record in the women’s 500 meter category.
