CBS fires journalist who covered Hunter Biden laptop story, seizes her personal files in an unprecedented move but later cries foul

Catherine Herridge, a veteran journalist who worked on the Hunter Biden laptop story and covered investigations into the Biden family, was fired by the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) News on 13th February this year.

It has now emerged that the network seized her personal files, computers and records, including confidential source information.

The unprecedented move by CBS officials has been condemned by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), which deemed the action as ‘very unusual and completely inappropriate.’

“It is completely inappropriate for an employer to lay off a reporter and take the very unusual step of retaining and searching the reporter’s files, inclusive of confidential source identification and information,’ it emphasised.

“The retention of a media professional’s reporting materials by their former employer is a serious break with traditional practices which supports the immediate return of reporting materials,” SAG-AFTRA added.

It concluded, “This action is deeply concerning to the union because it sets a dangerous precedent for all media professionals and threatens the very foundation of the First Amendment.”

CBS cries foul

Following the controversy, the news network claimed that no belongings of Catherine Herridge had been seized and that it had planned to return her files.

“Catherine’s personal belongings were delivered to her home one week ago, and we are prepared to pack up the rest of her files immediately on her behalf – with her representative present as she requested,’ a spokesperson for CBS News claimed.

The official added, “We have respected her request to not go through the files, and out of our concern for confidential sources, the office she occupied has remained secure since her departure.”

Catherine Herridge authenticated Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop

According to an article by New York Post, Catherine Herridge ‘faced roadblocks’ while covering the Hunter Biden laptop story. She had authenticated the abandoned laptop of US President Joe Biden’s son in November 2022.

Prior to her firing, the veteran journalist had also covered the House impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden. Catherine Herridge has previously served as the chief intelligence correspondent at Fox News.

Given her abrupt firing and seizure of personal files, the House Judiciary Committee has written to the CBS News President Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews on Friday (23rd February) seeking information about the termination of Herridge’s contract.

“The unprecedented actions of CBS News threaten to chill good journalism and ultimately weaken our nation’s commitment to a free press,” it stated.

The Hunter Biden laptop story

It is notable here that in the last weeks of the 2020 US presidential elections, the New York Post published an explosive story about Hunter Biden’s problematic emails with a Ukrainian gas company executive from Burisma.

In its report, the news outlet alleged that they had accessed material from a damaged Macbook that was brought to a service centre for repair. The customer who brought the laptop never collected or paid for the services.

The shop owner said he repeatedly tried to contact the client. Though he could not identify the owner as Hunter Biden, he said the laptop had Beau Biden Foundation’s sticker.

The report has several documents and mentions a video that proves that Joe Biden met a high-profile businessman from Ukraine when he was Vice President of the United States.

Reports suggested that Biden may have helped his son Hunter, using his influence as the VP of the United States, in his business in Ukraine. The Biden Camp categorically denied all the allegations.

The story was heavily censored by both Twitter and Facebook and was branded as a piece of fake news. Initially, the report was dismissed as a hoax by Biden-supporting media, but it was eventually confirmed that the laptop’s contents did really belong to Hunter Biden.

Following the restriction of the NYP report, Twitter justified the action by claiming that its policies forbid the sharing of compromised information. After the elections were over and Joe Biden was declared president, it became clear that the NY Post story was indeed true.

Twitter’s former head Jack Dorsey then expressed regret over censoring the story and blocking New York Post from their Twitter account.

Radical Islamist Imam Deported From France in Just 12 Hours… Vows to Return

France used a new immigration law to deport a radical Imam in just 12 hours, but the target insisted that he is the victim of a misunderstanding and vowed to return.

French interior minister Gérald Darmanin hailed the nation’s new immigration law passed last year for making it easier for the government to deport undesirable foreigners after it was used on Thursday against a radical preacher. Tunisian-origin Imam Mahjoub Mahjoubi went from detention to being put on a plane in just 12 hours.

Darmanin said: “Instructions were given to issue a ministerial expulsion order against this radical ‘imam’ who made unacceptable remarks and he was the subject of a home visit and an arrest.

“Without the immigration law, this would not have been possible. Firmness is the rule.”

Per the expulsion order seen by the conservative newspaper Le Figaro, Imam Mahjoubi was accused of advocating for a panoply of extremist causes. The state accused him of promoting terrorism, and advocating a “literal, retrograde, intolerant and violent conception of Islam”. The Imam is also alleged to have discriminated against women and fermented tensions with the Jewish community.

Offences against the symbols of the state are a reasonably serious offence in France, as they are in several European nations where post-war work to prevent the resurgence of fascism treats deviance from democratic norms severely. In this category, Imam Mahjoubi is said to have called the French flag “satanic” that has “no value to Allah”. The comments came to light after a video of one of the Imam’s sermons went viral on French social media earlier this week.

Imam Mahjoubi, on the other hand, insists these accusations boil down to a misunderstanding — claiming that he was actually talking about football in his sermon and suffered a “slip of the tongue”, he claims — and that in any case, he has rights that should be respected. The government’s order under the new law is “arbitrary” and he said he was being made an example of by the Interior Minister to promote the new law.

The Imam’s lawyer said the expulsion would be contested in court.

BFMTV reports some of Imam Mahjoubi’s complaints as he vowed to return to France. He said: “I will do everything to find my loved ones, to find my job, in the coming days or weeks… My place is not here [in Tunisia], even if it is my country. [My family] are on the other side of the Mediterranean… I lived for forty years in this country, the country of human and citizen rights. I will do everything to assert my rights.”

France’s immigration bill, passed by the Emmanuel Macron government in December, proved deeply controversial and needed the support of Marine Le Pen’s populist anti-mass migration group to become law. Le Pen called the law, passed by the otherwise globalist-centrist Macron an “ideological victory” for her party. Critics said the law erodes the rights of migrants.

Using the tough law to dramatic effect and linking it so clearly to his leadership may also be part of Interior Minister Darmanin’s not-so-secret campaign to set himself up as a successor to Macron, who will reach his Presidential term limit in 2027.

Massacre in Vienna brothel : Suspect is an asylum seeker from Afghanistan

They called themselves Xixi, Emi, Jimmy and Bella. Now three of them are dead. Their bodies were allegedly mutilated in the small massage parlour “Studio 126a” in the Brigittenau district of Vienna. A suspect has been arrested – it is said to be an Afghan.
The man, who was arrested in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene with a knife in his hand, is said to be an Afghan asylum seeker. He himself was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The suspect’s motive can only be speculated at present. According to “Kurier”, the Afghan could have entered the erotic studio as the last guest of the day, but was turned away there and wounded in his honour. The suspect is presumed innocent.
In any case, the scenes that took place in the red light parlour in the 20th district must have been horrific. A neighbour discovered traces of blood and called the police. Shortly afterwards, the officers found themselves in a nightmare. As Philipp Haßlinger, spokesman for the regional police directorate, reported, the bodies showed massive stab wounds and cuts. The victims were mutilated. The suspect, who was caught a short time later in a park, had to be arrested by the police with the use of a taser.

France: An Afghan refuses to leave a flat he has unlawfully occupied, the state is powerless

The prefecture of the Vendée – Google Streetview

The prefecture of Vendée demanded his immediate expulsion, the judge for administrative injunctions of the administrative court of Nantes ordered him this week to “immediately” vacate the flat he occupies, but the 40-year-old Afghan citizen is not moving. An example of the powerlessness of the state: a foreigner can simply override the administrative machinery and decide to occupy a flat to which he has no rights if he wants to!

This week’s judgement is just the latest climax in a legal dispute between an Afghan citizen, the state and the Vista association that is housing him. The problem: the man has made himself comfortable and keeps appealing. In June 2023, he was granted subsidiary protection as he was not entitled to refugee status. In July 2023, the French Office for Immigration and Integration (OFII) informed him that he had to leave his home and move to a temporary centre. The man had refused! On October 27, the Prefect of the Vendée himself ordered him to vacate the premises within 15 days: another refusal! And the state is reluctant to use force, as the “associations” and the do-gooders would see this as malicious.

The worst thing is that his vacant accommodation is not given to French people, but to other immigrants waiting for accommodation. In the Vendée department, no fewer than 82 “asylum seekers” and their families are waiting for accommodation generously paid for by the French.

If he is deported, let’s hope that this Afghan, in order to get rid of his anger, does not decide to “punish” French people in one way or another…

Catholics cannot vote for Germany’s ‘ethnic nationalist’ AfD party, bishops declare

Catholics in Germany are not permitted to vote for the populist Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party over its alleged “ethnic nationalist” views, the country’s association of bishops has said.

The declaration is the latest move by the German Catholic church against the party.

In August 2023, Germany’s Catholic hierarchy said that supporters of the AfD should be stripped from even lay church positions.

In a statement February 23, the German Bishops’ Conference said the AfD pivoted between the ideologies of populism and what it calls “real right-wing extremism”.

Right-wing extremism revolves around the idea of “ethnic nationalism”, say the bishops, or the view that a natural nation fundamentally consists of people of a similar “ethnos”.

“We see with great concern that radical thinking is increasing and even turning into hatred of fellow human beings–especially because of their religion, origin or skin colour, gender or sexual identity,” said the conference.

“We say with all clarity: ethnic nationalism is incompatible with the Christian view of God and humanity,” it added.

The letter goes on to compare the AfD to Die Heimat, a party which has been plausibly linked to Neo-Nazism, before ordering Catholics not to support any parties engaged in such “right-wing” ideology.

This ban on support includes voting for them in any upcoming elections.

“Rightwing extremist parties and those that proliferate on the fringes of this ideology cannot therefore be a place for Christians to engage in political activity and cannot be elected,” they said.

The fiery statement is the latest in a series of attacks on the AfD from the German Catholic church establishment.

Church attempts to delegitimise the party in the eyes of congregants have been going on for months now, with the head of the Committee of German Catholics coming out last year to demand all AfD supporters be banned from even the most basic of positions in the faith.

“Active advocacy for the AfD contradicts the basic values of Christianity,” committee president Irme Stetter-Karp said in August.

She added such restrictions should be put on AfD supporters even if they are “legally divisive”, with the official suggesting that there were ways to get around anti-discrimination rules that make banning people over which party they support unfeasible.

AfD politicians, many of whom are practising Catholics, have been outraged by the attacks.

AfD Bundestag representative Gerrit Huy accused the bishops of trying to force their political views onto their congregants.

“[T]he Catholic Bishops’ Conference, have decided: they do not like the AfD and want to make this dislike binding for all German Catholics,” the politician wrote online.

She added that “our Lord in heaven” is aware that the allegations against her party are “unfounded”.

Irish Referenda to Remove Women and Redefine the Family

In a decade where successive Irish governments have successfully navigated significant changes to the Irish constitution—becoming the first country to introduce same-sex marriage by popular vote in 2015 and removing the constitutional prohibition on abortion in 2018—the progressive movement may be about to meet its first defeat. This time the issue at stake is how Ireland’s constitution recognizes the contribution women make to society and the very definition of the family.

With a certain degree of hubris, the government decided to avoid parliamentary scrutiny of the legislation to introduce the constitutional vote, resulting in what many feel are loosely worded and ill-considered changes, delivering a bloody nose to a government that is already under pressure on issues such as immigration, homelessness, the cost of living, and a dysfunctional health system.

Initially posited on International Women’s Day 2023 as a referendum to enshrine ‘gender equality’ and ‘non-discrimination’ in the constitution, the first (and, it was assumed, the easiest) of the two proposed changes to the constitution appeared in a much different form from that recommended by a Citizen’s Assembly on the matter. The government pivoted, catching even its supporters by surprise, by announcing that plans to include a reference to ‘gender equality’ would likely weaken the equality provisions already in place, such as “those relating to disability, race, or ethnicity.”

It is proposed that the current Article 41.2, which says both that “by her life within the home, woman gives to the state a support without which the common good cannot be achieved” and also that “mothers shall not be obliged by economic necessity to engage in labour to the neglect of their duties in the home,” will be removed and replaced with a gender-neutral provision.

The proposed replacement wording to the constitution is:

The State recognises that the provision of care, by members of a family to one another by reason of the bonds that exist among them, gives to Society a support without which the common good cannot be achieved, and shall strive to support such provision.

This language is considered progressive by the government and others who have been advocating for changes to the constitution, with many citing the original provision as a relic of Catholic Ireland, both outmoded and sexist. But critics argue that its removal is a sop to mask the failure of the government to provide reasonable solutions so that families in modern Ireland will not be forced, out of economic necessity, to embark on two-parent careers and push their children into daycare.

Others are concerned by the removal of the single protection for women in the constitution, which is being done under the guise of ‘gender equality.’ They see the move as a further erosion of women’s rights, with the changes being misleadingly promoted as ‘valuing’ women’s roles outside the home and removing restrictions on the role of women in society—with neither claim being correct.

Surveys consistently show that the majority of mothers, if they have the option, prefer to stay at home. Despite constitutional protection for this desire, repeated governments have failed to make it a possibility. Increasingly, the Irish government has provided incentives and subsidised daycare for young children without any similar provision for parents to remain at home. At the same time, the government has moved to tax individualisation, which means that single income families pay more tax than families with two salaries of the same income.

The Iona Institute in Ireland notes that the wording of the proposed amendment also removes any reference to the ‘home.’ The implications are unclear; but in a society that increasingly outsources care to institutions—whether children, the elderly, or the infirm—it will remove any constitutional preference for care in the home.

Disability rights activists are also concerned about a potential regression to institutional care. A joint parliamentary committee on disability matters has noted that Ireland has regressed in its commitments to independent living for people with disabilities since ratifying the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in 2018.

The National Women’s Council of Ireland (NWCI) has received criticism for misrepresenting the present constitution when it claimed that the article to be removed currently “gives the State the oppressive role of keeping women from careers or employment of our own,” although Article 45.2.1 of the same constitution gives all “men and women equally” the right to work and earn money.

Critics point to the frequent omission of the sub-clause on ‘economic necessity’ when citing the current wording of the constitution, and that the NWCI’s CEO herself is a clear example that women are not kept from work, careers, or high achievement. The historical fact of 20 years of female presidents of Ireland, from 1990 to 2011, and the numerous female political party leaders currently in place, are all conveniently ignored.

The second proposed amendment to the constitution is a move to amend Article 41.1.1, which currently recognises the family “as the natural primary and fundamental unit group of Society.” The proposal is to extend the definition of the family beyond marriage, as “whether founded on marriage or on other durable relationships.” This proposal follows a 2016 referendum to introduce same-sex marriage into the Constitution, which was approved by 62% of voters, abrogating the interpretation of the family as founded on marriage between a man and a woman (and including their children).

Speaking from Dublin Castle at the announcement of the referendum, Irish Taoiseach (prime minister) Leo Varadkar stated that, “In relation to the family, our constitution will continue to explicitly protect both the family and the institution of marriage.”

Loose words cost constitutional change. Much of the focus has been on the meaning of ‘durable relations’ if it is to be adopted into the constitution. There is ongoing debate about whether polygamous and polyamorous relationships would be covered under the proposed concept of the ‘family.’ The government has denied that this would be the case; however, this assertion has been challenged by legal experts who have been at pains to point out that the courts will be the ones who define the meaning of ‘durable relationships’ in the future.

Ms. Justice Marie Baker, the chair of the Electoral Commission—an ostensibly independent and impartial body meant to inform the public on referendum proposals—added to the uncertainty by stating that the interpretation of what was a durable relationship would be somewhat subjective:

There are all kinds of things, some of them are subjective and some of them are objective. So subjectively, a relationship is durable, if committed, if it presents itself as committed, if it means to be committed, if it intends to be committed.

Its durability can sometimes be how you are treated by other people. Are you invited as a couple to weddings? Do people send Christmas cards to both of you? These are the indicators of your commitment to each other.

The Irish prime minister considers the change as an extension of the current protections against external or state intervention that are afforded to families under the constitution, broadening them “to other lasting relationships and putting them on an equal footing with married families.” Hence, the provision is seen as a ‘constitutional catch-up’ with no impact on social welfare or taxes.

Critics argue that the constitution gave primacy to the family founded on marriage because that family is the one that gives the best outcomes for children, and because it places a positive requirement for the state to promote and incentivise that particular form of durable relationship. But still, others consider that the 2016 referendum had already eroded this understanding of the constitution, and that even prior to 2016, government policy had failed to promote and protect the marriage founded on the family in any meaningful manner. These new amendments will do little to change their minds.

Canadian medical establishment confirms COVID jab caused young mother’s paralysis, offers euthanasia for ‘treatment’

Image: Free image, Pixabay license, no attribution required.

By Olivia Murray

There were a lot of mixed feelings about Tucker Carlson’s interview with Vladimir Putin, but Russia’s president was right on when he took a moment to address and condemn Canada for the federal government’s fall-time public relations disaster in which Justin Trudeau, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and members of the Canadian Parliament “gave a standing ovation to a WWII-era Nazi who is a veteran of the Waffen-SS.” Here’s what Putin had to say, via National Post:

‘People who exterminated Jews, Russians and Poles are alive. And the president, the current president of today’s Ukraine applauds him in the Canadian Parliament, gives a standing ovation….’

Canada is run by Nazi-sympathizers… who also apparently aspire to emanate the Third Reich. Get this, according to an exclusive report published by The Canadian Independent:

Young Ontario woman’s life becomes a living hell after [a] Moderna booster shot leaves her paralyzed. Doctors confirm vaccine connection and offer Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID).

Kayla Pollock is now 37-years-old and a single mother of a young son; prior to her injury, Pollock described herself as “fit, healthy, and very active,” but now, she’s bound to a wheelchair. Per the report, Pollock initially received two jabs of Pfizer which didn’t cause her any issues, but it was after her third “vaccination” by Moderna that she experienced the drastic change in her health. Here are more of the details, from the original story:

On the morning of February 22, 2022, Kayla’s life took an irreversible turn. As she awoke, opened her eyes, a sudden realization struck her – she couldn’t move her body.

While in the emergency department Kayla recounts that the attending physician initially dismissed her symptoms…

Eventually, an MRI was conducted, revealing that Kayla had a very large lesion on her spinal cord. A neurologist followed up with Kayla and … Kayla questioned the neurologist and asked if the lesion could be a tumor. In an audio recording taken by Kayla’s boyfriend, the neurologist responds, saying, ‘it’s less likely a tumor’ and that it is his ‘gut impression it was caused by the vaccine.’ When Kayla questions the doctor as to whether many people have had something similar happen to them, the doctor responds, saying ‘many people have had it.’

But Canada’s socialized medicine network is staffed almost entirely by “doctors” aspiring to the likes of Josef Mengele, so instead of pursuing life-giving treatment, they’re peddling death.

“Sorry about being irresponsible and lousy practitioners of medicine, and Big Pharma’s loyal shills, and forgive us for betraying our oath to ‘do no harm’ and instead using unsuspecting people as lab rats, but can we offer to murder you to make up for it?”

Now, perhaps the criminal caitiffs who manipulated and coerced people into taking an experimental drug that reaped catastrophe and destroyed countless lives should be euthanized instead? After a fair (Nuremberg) trial of course.

Leftist philosophy makes death a panacea, which in turn, gives practitioners of “healthcare” the latitude to be the worst “doctors” in the history of medicine. There’s no burden to learn more about the human body and its functions, and there’s no impetus to get creative, or be the best doctor you can be—you just murder your patient, and voilà! Problem solved.

Like the leftist socialists before them, the leftist socialists of contemporary Canada are offering death and murder as the convenient and compassionate solution to the “suffering” of the ill.

I’ve got just one word for these people: Nazis.

UK Armed Forces Allowing Transgender Personnel in Female Accommodations

The British Armed Forces have determined that biologically male transgender military personnel can stay in female-only accommodations to match with their “affirmed gender”.

A document outlining the official guidance from the UK military on the management of transgender personnel stated that as soon as an individual claims to being going through a so-called gender transition they should be provided “accommodation that is appropriate to their affirmed gender,” meaning that biological males could be housed in female-only barracks and other accommodations.

The document, seen by The Telegraph, went on to state: “From the date of transition, the person should also have use of the toilet and changing room facilities appropriate to their affirmed gender. Under no circumstances should a transgender person be expected, after transitioning, to use the facilities of their assigned gender.”

Concerns have been raised that the policy could further put female soldiers and other military personnel at risk of being sexually abused. Conservative MP Sarah Atherton, who has previously overseen investigations into sexual assault and harassment in the military, accused the Armed Forces of not having “thought this through properly”.

“Having done extensive work around women in the Armed Forces, I am fully aware of the extent of sexual abuse that has gone on and continues to go on. Women need to have secure accommodation where they feel safe,” she said.

The disclosure of the policy comes after Defence Secretary Grant Shapps announced last week that he will be conducting a review into the “extremist culture” of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policies within the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

Shapps announced the review after it was revealed that the British Army was planning on lowering its standards for officer security clearances because they were “prohibitive to overseas recruits” and thereby undermining the agenda to increase diversity within the ranks of the officer core.

Critics, however, have noted that the Conservative Party has been in power for over a decade and therefore could have stopped the encroaching leftist ideology within the Armed Forces years ago.

A source close to the Defence Secretary cited by The Telegraph, claimed that Shapps will also include policies surrounding transgenderism within the military in his review of the “woke” agenda of the MoD.

The broadsheet went on to claim that sources within the MoD maintained that it was a rare occurrence to have personnel of opposite sexes using the same facilities, claiming that it is more often the case that personnel are provided with “lockable” single accommodations with private washrooms.

However, a female member of the Royal Air Force, speaking on condition of anonymity, claimed that during a recent overseas deployment, she was forced to share washroom facilities with both women and biological men.

“Trainees are considered our most vulnerable as they are the youngest, most inexperienced,” she said. “It’s fair to say that people who are in the early stages of their career are potentially being put at risk by not having female-only spaces protected.”

Angry residents of France’s Mayotte island target aid workers for ‘helping migrants’

Employees of humanitarian organisations in France’s overseas department of Mayotte have been attacked and threatened by residents who accuse them of helping illegal migrants, according to reports.

The island, located between Mozambique and Madagascar, has a large number of immigrants: perhaps as many as half its population of 300,000.

Paris on February 11 ended birthright citizenship on the island, meaning that now not everyone born there is considered automatically French: a departure for France’s overseas departments, which have had the same status as mainland France.

But the move has not appeased angry protestors, who continue to put up roadblocks across the island demanding “expulsion of refugees”.

Solidarité Mayotte, a humanitarian organisation providing support and lodging to individuals seeking refuge and receiving international protection, says its employees are “uncomfortable” with the situation and have come under attack.

https://resistancerepublicaine.com/

Its previous director felt it necessary to leave her post at the end of January.

“She was insulted and spat on while accompanying beneficiaries to one of our homes,” Gilles Foucaud, Solidarité Mayotte’s deputy director, told AFP.

“Since February 6, we no longer have access to our premises, everyone is working from home. We were told that if we dared to leave our premises, it would be a declaration of war on the people of Mahora,” he added.

“The tensions around the camp, with the vicinity and then the broader neighbourhood, began six months ago,” an anonymous staff member told the French news agency.

“Since then, there has been an escalation: stones have been thrown at migrants at the stadium, [water] tanks near the camp destroyed in the middle of the water crisis, videos of volunteers circulating on social networks with anonymous threats, an intrusion at the headquarters of Solidarité Mayotte with a blocking of access,” the staff member added.

People in Mayotte “believe that the state uses these [humanitarian] structures to help illegal immigrants in Mayotte,” says Abdou Badirou, spokesman for the Forces Vives collective.

Forces Vives has engaged in a series of roadblocks, protesting against insecurity and immigration, which have brought life on the island to a standstill since January.

When a camp of refugees from the Great Lakes of Africa was housed in makeshift shelters near the Cavani football stadium in Mamoudzou, demonstrators launched a picket in front of the stadium’s gates to “monitor the entrances and exits so that no one else settles in,” said Badirou.

In addition, protesters locked the doors of Solidarité Mayotte’s offices, which are close to the stadium.

“The associations encourage the arrival of migrants by helping them, but they do not house them and leave them in undignified conditions,” Badirou told AFP.

The Coalia association, an organisation which provides emergency accommodation and integration support, said its staff had also encountered abuse.

“During the last operation to dismantle the Cavani camp, on February 1, some of our employees were followed as they brought refugees to their new homes. They were filmed and the videos were circulated on social networks accompanied by threatening comments,” its director told AFP.
