The Irish Prime Minister addressed the nation on Friday morning after a night of fiery protests in Dublin in reaction to a mass stabbing against schoolchildren, but the leader had much more to say about violence against the state than violence against children.
Leo Varadkar spoke about “two terrible attacks” that took place on Thursday, one “on innocent children” and the other “on our society and the rule of law”. Speaking for almost six minutes, the Irish progressive-centrist Fine Gael politician spent 42 seconds condemning the man who had loitered outside a school before launching a knife attack the previous day, and then four minutes and 20 seconds unloading on those who came out to riot over the attack that evening.
Calling the multiple stabbings a “horrifying act of violence”, Varadkar spent most of those 42 seconds narrative building, praising those who had stepped in to try and stop the violence, and praising those who work in the Irish health service.
Following up with the considerably longer part of his speech on the protests and riots that followed, the Prime Minister noted: “yesterday evening some people decided the best way to respond to this terrible attack would be to take to the streets of Dublin to try to terrify, intimidate, loot and destroy. Their first reaction to a five-year-old child being stabbed was to burn our city, attack its businesses, and assault our [police].”
Those who protested and rioted, Varadkar said, had “brought shame on Dublin, shame on Ireland, and shame on their families and themselves”, and were not real patriots. They are people, he said, who are filled with hate, who “love violence, love chaos, and love causing pain to others”. Varadkar did not take time to speculate whether those who stab children might love any of those things also, however.
34 were arrested on Thursday night and Irish media claimed the protests were the most intensive seen in Dublin for years. Vehicles including a police car, busses and trams were burnt and shops were looted. One police officer was seriously injured in the violence that followed the multiple stabbing on Parnell Street allegedly by a suspect, it was reported, by a man in his late 40s who has gained Irish citizenship in the past.
There were protests again on Friday night but not on the same scale as the previous evening.
Police say they are exploring all possible motivations and had considered a terrorism angle, but now say they understand the suspect was “highly agitated” over an unspecified “grievance” which led him to attack children leaving a local school, and a teacher who used her body to shield the pupils from his assault. One child and the teacher remain in critical condition.
On Thursday afternoon this week, a vicious stabbing attack occurred on Parnell Square in central Dublin. Although precise details are yet to be confirmed, five people are in hospital including children, with one in a critical condition.
The attacker is believed to be a foreign national, possibly from Algeria, who has lived in Ireland for some time. It is just the latest high-profile crime that has occurred in Ireland in recent times at the hands of a foreign perpetrator.
In April 2022, two gay Irish men, Aidan Moffitt and Michael Snee, were murdered in the most gruesome fashion by Yousel Palani. Apparently, they were targeted because they were Irish and homosexual. Palani came to Ireland with his family when he was six, and his family are known to be devout Muslims.
In January 2022, a teacher and talented musician Ashling Murphy was murdered as she went out for a jog at the Grand Canal near Tullamore, County Offaly. She was stabbed in the neck eleven times by Jozef Puska, a Slovakian Roma who had been living in Ireland for 10 years. He had never worked or contributed anything to Ireland, was allowed to claim disability benefits and received a free house from the Irish government. He was allowed into Ireland because of EU open borders.
Ashling represented the best of Irish people, and her murder sickened the whole nation.
The violence and riots that we witnessed in Dublin this week are rare, but their significance should not be underestimated. They are the result of pent-up anger that has built up over a period of time. They are a sign that people are at breaking point and are convulsed with anger at a government that has steadfastly ignored their concerns around immigration and asylum policy for a long time.
The anger should be channeled to exert political change at the ballot box. The Irish Freedom Party opposes any type of political violence by either individuals or the state.
Between 2012 and 2022, Ireland’s population has grown by around 10.3 percent — the EU average in that period is around 1.7 percent. Ireland is generally a welcoming country, but we are at breaking point and our hospitality is being abused. Despite being the furthest European country away from the conflict, Ireland has taken in more Ukrainian refugees per capita than any other Western European country.
A recent study showed that the rate of increase in Ukrainians arriving in Ireland over the past 12 months was 10 times higher than the average increase in numbers across the EU — there has been a 72.1 percent increase in the numbers over the past year. They are attracted to Ireland because the government decided to hand out stacks of Irish taxpayers’ money to them as an incentive to come.
The Irish Freedom Party has been highlighting this problem for many months, and it is only now that the government has decided that our analysis is correct and is looking to change the package on offer.
The modus operandi of this government in relation to asylum and immigration has been clear for some time. They dump busloads of unvetted male asylum seekers into unsuspecting communities, sometimes late at night. They do not consult with the local population or address their concerns about a lack of services and security. They simply dismiss them as “far-right” or “racist,” and these tactics are echoed by their friends in the media.
Last week, over 1,000 people marched in Rosslare, County Wexford, in opposition to plans by the Department of Integration to impose another 400 asylum seekers in a hotel that was meant to be used for elderly people. In Killarney, which is a prime tourist town, hundreds of people turned out to oppose plans to dump more asylum seekers in the town — already around 40 percent of the tourist accommodation in Killarney is allocated for asylum applicants.
Roderic O’Gorman, the minister responsible for integration and asylum, sent out tweets in multiple languages inviting people from all over the world to apply for asylum in Ireland. He played an active role in the crisis we find ourselves in today. This is all happening during the middle of a massive housing crisis, which has essentially locked generations of Irish people out of the possibility of owning their own home.
The Irish Freedom Party wants to totally reform Irish immigration and asylum laws. Firstly, we will seek to push back on frivolous applications from designated safe countries — this will immediately cut down on the numbers applying. We will end the ridiculous and ineffective policy of self-deportation and ensure that every deportation order is activated and carried out. Third, we will put a stop to the endless legal appeals process and ensure that decisions are made in a timely and efficient fashion.
The Irish Freedom Party will use existing laws to ensure that anyone entering the country without a passport or ID will be immediately returned to their country of origin.
In terms of regular immigration, we will drastically cut the numbers coming and reform the welfare system to make sure it does not act as an incentive to come to Ireland. We want an immigration policy that is based on our national needs in terms of filling employment vacancies and skill gaps.
The Irish people are entitled to have a system that they can have confidence in and feel benefits the country and society in general. The Irish Freedom Party is the only party committed to reform in these areas. We are the only party listening to the Irish people and standing with them as they oppose a New Plantation of Ireland.

Charlie Weimers (photo), a leading MEP for the Sweden Democrats and vice-chair of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group, says a Swedish exit from the European Union must be considered if the EU continues attempts to centralise power.
His call came at a party congress of the national-conservative Sweden Democrats in Västerås, a small city west of Stockholm.
Ahead of next year’s European Parliament elections, Weimers is set to be the leading candidate of the party.
Speaking previously to Brussels Signal, Weimers said he was in favour of remaining within the EU.
While he still holds this position, he said he now believes Sweden should leave the EU – what he termed “Swexit” – if Brussels continues to take more powers for itself.
“At that point, I will demand an immediate Swexit,” Weimers told the gathering.
Weimers, a prominent critic of Brussels, acknowledged concerns within his party but cautioned against an immediate departure.
“EU critics must be in the game if we are to succeed in reversing the trend,” he said.
He did leave the door ajar for a potential exit – if the EU continued to move in a more Euro-federalist direction, particularly if the national veto in the European Council was removed.
A few days ago, the European Parliament approved such a push to continue centralising power at the EU level.
On November 22, led by veteran Euro-federalist Guy Verhofstadt, the Parliament voted in favour of a report that recommends the EU open up a convention to revise the EU Treaties. The report advocates the abolishing of unanimity voting in virtually all cases.
In key areas, EU laws and policies still need a final stamp of approval from all 27 Member States, meaning each nation still has the power of veto.
The Sweden Democrats’ youth organisation, Ungsvenskarna, proposed a motion at the congress urging action for a Swexit if the power transfer continues “in an unacceptable way”.
Since 2019, the Sweden Democrats have not actively pursued an exit but have advocated for a comprehensive and independent evaluation of Sweden’s EU membership.
Weimers criticised what he termed the “PC gang” in the Parliament and expressed concern about what he said was the erosion of democracy and Sweden’s diminishing influence within the supranational union.
“Democracy is gradually undermined; citizens have noted the development,” he stated, expressing hope that other political parties would adopt a more sceptical stance toward the EU.
Weimers acknowledged that a majority of Swedes currently support EU membership, citing respect for public opinion as the reason the Sweden Democrats refrain from advocating for an exit.
Looking ahead to the European Parliament elections on June 9 next year, Weimers set an ambitious goal for the Sweden Democrats to become the largest party, aiming to surpass its 15.3 per cent standing in the previous election compared to the Social Democrats’ 23.5 per cent.
He is said to have planned a poison gas attack on New Year’s Eve, which is why he regularly chatted with ISIS members. But when he was taken into the courtroom in shackles, Jalal J. (26) cowardly hid his face behind a file folder. He has now been sentenced to four years behind bars. However, he will not be released: the court ordered preventive detention!
Jalal J. had to answer for a serious violent offence endangering the state. According to the judges, the Iranian had planned a terrorist attack with a lethal weapon. To this end, he is said to have contacted members of the Islamic State (IS) and received via the internet instructions on how to produce the poisonous substances ricin and cyanide. “According to the findings of the State Security Chamber of the Dortmund Regional Court, the accused made the decision to commit an Islamist-motivated poison gas attack in accordance with the ideology of the “Islamic State” in the second half of 2022 at the latest, with the intention of killing the largest possible number of people in order to impair the population’s sense of security and send a signal in favour of the radical Islamist world view,” said a spokeswoman for the court.
Incomprehensible: Jalal J. simply bought the ingredients in the supermarket, at “Kaufland”, among other places. According to the indictment, his Islamist chat partners then explained to him step by step how he could produce ricin or cyanide. On New Year’s Eve, he wanted to kill as many defenceless people as possible. But one last ingredient for the perfidious plan was missing: iron filings. The FBI finally gave the German authorities the decisive clue. Special units wearing anti-infection suits took action on the night of January 8 and arrested J. in his brother’s flat in Castrop-Rauxel (Recklinghausen district). This is not J.’s first time in the dock. He was already convicted of attempted murder in 2019. Back then, he threw a ten-kilo branch onto the A45 motorway and a female driver was unable to avoid it. The woman miraculously survived the crash.
After decades of wokedom, self-satisfied establishmentarians in European capitals found themselve ‘shocked’ that populist/conservative Geert Wilders ran away with a big victory in the Netherlands.
Sour grapes is more like it. But to get even more specific, it was a wake-up call.
THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — Anti-Islam populist Geert Wilders said Thursday that he is ready to join the next Dutch coalition government after he surged to a huge election victory that marked a stunning lurch to the far right for a nation once famed as a beacon of tolerance.
The result is sending shockwaves through Europe, where extremist nationalist ideology is putting pressure on democracies that now face the possibility of having to deal with the first far-right prime minister of the Netherlands.
“It is going to happen that the PVV is in the next Cabinet,” Wilders said, using the Dutch abbreviation for his Party for Freedom.
With nearly all votes counted, Wilders’ party was forecast to win 37 seats in the 150-seat lower house of parliament, more than double the 17 the party secured in the last election.
Cripes, look at the language in that AP piece.
I am ‘shocked’ it got past a credible editor.
“Once famed as a beacon of tolerance”?
“Stunning lurch to the far right”?
Let’s just say we know how Mike and Raf voted if they are Dutch. What crazed, insulting language that bears no resemblance to the subject of their article.
I’ve met Geert myself in Los Angeles, and far from being intolerant as he had been painted, he’s as tolerant and pleasant as they come from a nation that has a splendid culture of tolerance and love for freedom. I expected a wild man but what was the first thing I concluded? That he’s very, very, very Dutch. He’s Dutch like we expect the Dutch to be — tolerant, reasonable, practical, down to earth, amiable.
I’ve spent time in the Netherlands, and as a college student, worked for the Dutch government, so got to know quite a few Dutch people, whom I like and respect very much.
Sounds like the sort of person who should be leading the Netherlands, actually. His stances on out-of-control migration from incompatible and hostile cultures, crime, inflation, and the green agenda resonated with Dutch voters. I’m glad as heck that he stands a strong chance of becoming their prime minister.
The Dutch have a parliamentary system, so they sort themselves out into ruling coalitions and pick a prime minister from there.
According to the BBC, the 37 parliamentary seats Wilders picked up surprised even him by the high count. That means:
Geert Wilders’ party is set to become by far the biggest party in the Dutch parliament after Wednesday’s election
Wilder’s party has the black column.
BBC adds:
Geert Wilders may be the leader of the Netherlands’ largest parliamentary party, but he does not have nearly enough seats to form a government alone. Weeks of political horse-trading lie ahead.
Mr Wilders has admitted he will need to compromise on some of his policies to find political bed-fellows. And at this moment in time, it is not certain that Geert Wilders will be his country’s next prime minister.
Well, one hopes they are deluding themselves. There seems to be a wave building, though the BBC notes that not all conservative parties have won in recent elections, noting the reversal in Poland and the weak performance in Spain. But there also are big gains in France, Germany, and others, based on the same kinds of issues plaguing those countries — inflation, crime, greenie madness and unchecked migration — that Wilders delivered the resonant message on.
In the meantime, news reports note that complacent European Union polite society is acting as if their collective hair has been set on fire, but that’s not exactly what I have seen in reports. Most of these reports focus on the glee of other populist/conservative parties, of the kind who get demonized in the press as the Second Coming of Trump. Yet the academic types quoted insist that Wilders won’t be able to or have the guts to do what he says he will.
“He can never rule on his own, and I cannot imagine any kind of coalition majority that would choose a confrontation with Europe,” said professor Hendrik Vos of Ghent University, an expert on EU politics. “The Netherlands just has too much at stake in the EU market. It is unthinkable. And you have already seen him tone down some of his rhetoric,” Vos said.
Alexander Clarkson, a lecturer in German and European studies at King’s College London, said this morning: “Left and right as broader camps each have a substantial presence and will still do so.
“What is constantly shifting is which strand of the right – from far right to far right populists to conservatives to Christian democrats to rightish neo-liberals – is dominant at any one time.”.
He said Geert Wilders, like Jörg Haider in Austria, “has built his success on condemning coalition horsetrading that imposed policy compromise at the expense of ideological purism on every other Dutch party”.
He added:
“I suspect the trajectory of Wilders in power would be that of Haider as a populist entirely focused on gaining power yet struggles to use it effectively once it is in his hands rather than that of a canny strategist like Giorgia Meloni.
A characteristic that Far Right populists like Haider, Farage and Wilders share is a desperate hankering after respect from the political establishment they spend their careers condemning.”
Let’s see about that.
Voters don’t vote for people like Wilders unless something really bad has happened to shake them up and shock them into voting for something or someone different.
That’s where the wake-up call comes in.
There was the uncontrolled migration from some of the world’s least-fit-for-freedom societies. There is the crime brought on by illegal migration that comes of it.
There is out-of-control inflation and lousy economies brought on by lockdowns and money-printing for social spending. There is also costly war, which Wilders wants to pull back on.
There is the green agenda which almost certainly is being underreported. Expropriating and destroying the world’s most productive farmland in the name of global warming in the Netherlands, a junk theory if there ever was one, is insanity. Surely that brought him some votes.
The Dutch voters are likely to demand results from Wilder now that they have put their faith in him and made the leap. Wilders will be under immense pressure to give them what he promised them.
Let’s hope he has the political capital and will to follow through and then triggers a chain reaction from voters across the continent.
His new response to all the claims of ‘shock’ is reasonably defiant and in their faces:
That will give the euro elites something to be shocked about.
As for everyone else, particularly the Dutch voters, this could be the most beautiful thing that ever happened to Europe.

The French authorities have approved the use of two spy drones to monitor this year’s Strasbourg Christmas Market.
Plans regarding the use of spy drones were first announced to the public earlier in November. That quickly prompted a legal challenge from locals claiming they represented a breach of the fundamental rights of those attending.
Their lawyers argued that the “indiscriminate” surveillance the drones could not be justified and would enable the authorities to identify sensitive information about innocent people.
This includes data related to their sexual orientation, they claimed, as a drone could spot whether someone attended an LGBT-focused stand or event at the market or in the wider city.
Ruling on the challenge, the local Strasbourg administrative court rejected these claims, saying that the use of the two drones was proportionate considering “the size of the area to be secured, the expected crowds and the particular configuration of the premises including many narrow streets”.
The judge said that the “circumstances justified a particular deployment of security forces, supplemented by the use of two drones, which will make it possible to detect abnormal crowd movements more quickly and to direct the interventions of law enforcement in a more rapid and relevant manner.”
With these considerations in mind, he concluded that the use of drones was “not disproportionate to the pursued objective of public safety”.
The judge did not completely dismiss the complaints of those who brought the case, saying that while the police were permitted to use drones, they could only do so to ensure public safety.
“Apart from these objectives of maintaining order, the use of the images for other purposes was strictly prohibited,” he said.
The judge qualified that statement, adding that the recorded footage could be used to help prosecute certain serious criminal offences.
The ruling comes amid heightened concerns regarding digitally enabled State spying in France, with many in the country fearful of a rollout of monitoring tech by the authorities.
A particular flashpoint has been the upcoming Paris Summer Olympics, for which the country approved the use of algorithmically-powered video surveillance earlier this year.
One digital rights lawyer said: “This is a massive surveillance tool that allows police to analyse our behaviour … and to decide who is normal and who is suspicious based on their own stereotypes,” arguing that the technology would be used to “detect what the police want it to detect”.
France has also legalised the remote bugging of various high-tech devices as part of certain criminal investigations.
Politicians and pundits noted that the new legislation allows the country’s law enforcement agencies to hack into such devices as high-tech sex toys to spy on their users.

A trans-identified male has been indicted on 14 felony counts following sinister threats to commit a school shooting and murder children “on behalf” of the transgender community. Alexia Willie, born Jason Lee Willie, also promised to rape young girls in public restrooms in retaliation for transphobia.
As previously reported by Reduxx, Willie was arrested on August 14 in Perry County, Illinois, after the Springfield-area FBI intercepted a live-stream on social media they deemed “suspicious.”
In the stream, an individual later identified as Willie was seen making a number of disturbing threats towards schools and local children, specifically indicating there were plots in-progress to commit a school shooting, though no single institution was named.
Court records filed on November 7 now reveal the extent of the threats Willie had made during the livestream, wherein he threatened to rape young girls in bathroom facilities in addition to carrying out a copy-cat killing of the horrific March shooting at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee. During that incident, a trans-identified female left 6 dead, 3 of whom were children aged 9, in an act of brutality that left the nation stunned.
“A person in Tennessee walked into one of your schools and shot up a bunch of your Christian daughters. That’s not the last of them if you don’t shut your fucking mouth. Shut the fuck up out here, you understand me?” Willie said.
“There’s a lot of transgenders out here that are tired of being picked on and we’re going to go into the schools and we’re going to kill their fucking children out here, and that’s the end of it. We’re at war.”
In another expletive-filled monologue, Willie also claimed to be a “pedophile” with intentions to sexually abuse young girls.
“I’m in the bathroom feeling your little girls’ pussies. I love feeling on your little girls’ pussies. You can’t do nothing about it. I don’t care. I’m openly a pedophile. You guys can’t do nothing about us. You can cry. Put me on national television, I don’t care,” Willie boasted.
“I’m transgender, I’m in the bathroom raping your fucking daughters and I’m openly letting you guys know this. The Republican Party, what are you faggots going to do about us? Be the fucking men you think you are and step up. But you won’t, because you’re faggots, and you’re weak, and you’re pussies,” he continued.
“We will fuck your daughters in that bathroom, I guarantee it. We will fuck your children up out here, we are gonna fuck ’em up [laughs], and you can’t do shit about it… I promise you, I catch your daughters in them bathrooms alone… I am gonna fucking fuck ’em until they’re dead. I’m gonna ravage them. I’m gonna reach inside their coochies and I’m gonna pull their intestines out… You think you are alpha men, you are beta bitches,” Willie said.
In further comments made by Willie during the live-stream, he threatened to infect “your women with HIV in the restroom… with a needle,” while apparently speaking to an unnamed individual who he repeatedly addressed with racial slurs.
Several other statements denigrating “the blacks” were cited in the indictment, with Willie utilizing a number of racial slurs to address African Americans. He specifically mentioned comedian Dave Chappelle, who has made jokes about some aspects of the transgender movement.
“Listen, Dave Chappelle and all the blacks out here, all the black people out here talking about trannies and shit, they’re no different than the white supremacists, either.”
Willie also labeled “transphobic Christian trash” as “white supremacists.”
While Willie had initially been arrested in August by Perry County law enforcement, he was released less than 48 hours after being detained on a $0 bond. Speaking to Reduxx in October, Perry County Sheriff Chad Howard explained that local prosecutors had a difficult time laying charges.
Though he was initially charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, Sheriff Howard said the charges related to the threats against the schools were dropped due to a lack of specific target.
“Because there was no one individual person or individual school directly threatened, the disorderly conduct did not stick. It was not capable of being filed,” he said. Sheriff Howard also noted that he anticipated that the remaining resisting arrest charge would result in a simple fine.
“It’s more or less going to end up going to be a hearing. Now with the state of Illinois having the SAFE-T Act, which went into effect on September 18, those types of crimes are no longer containable. You just bring [a suspect] in for booking, processing, and biometrics and then you release them with a court date and it is all handled by the courts from there on out,” he said.
At the time, Sheriff Howard was unaware of any additional action pending against Willie, making the November 7 indictment a surprise move by federal prosecutors. Willie has now been charged with 14 felony counts of Interstate Communication of a Threat to Injure.
Willie has been placed under arrest and is in the custody of the US Marshall Service. A trial has been set for January 16 at a courthouse in Benton, Illinois, where Willie will be represented by a public defender.
