A trans-identified male is in custody after allegedly murdering his trans-identified female partner in Porsgrunn, Norway. The complex case has prompted confusion due to police and media reporting that a woman murdered a man.

On the night of November 26, police were called over a domestic dispute in the South-East district of Porsgrunn. Despite injuries being reported and medical treatment being sought by a female, it was determined that no intervention was required at the time. Just two hours later, at approximately midnight, police were called again, with the female victim suffering critical injuries at the residence.

The victim, 22, was rushed to hospital but did not survive, quickly resulting in her male partner, 18, being taken into custody and charged with murder. The names of both parties have not yet been released.

The victim and accused were in a relationship and had just recently moved in together, signing a lease on Friday. Some neighbors in the housing complex have come forward to speak with local press and reveal they heard screaming and shouting throughout Sunday evening, while the tenant who lived above the couple says he heard a loud “bang” that night. Police have confirmed that a gun was not the cause of the sound, but that a potential murder weapon of an undisclosed nature has been retrieved.

According to Telemarksavisa, police had been notified over incidents of violence between the two multiple times in the last year.

While a number of details surrounding the slaying are currently unclear, both the police and media reporting of the incident have prompted backlash from Norwegian women’s rights advocates due to the obfuscation of the biological sex of both the suspected murderer and the victim.

Initial reports stated that a man had been arrested in connection with the murder of another man, with outlets such as Dagbladet later switching their articles to clarify that a woman had been arrested in connection with the murder of a man. This follows confirmation by the public register that both the victim and the accused are legally the opposite sex of their current identification.

“In an earlier version of this article, Dagbladet referred to the accused as a man …. This information was later changed to the fact that the accused wants to be referred to as a woman. Dagbladet has corrected,” a notice embedded into the article reads.

Subsequent coverage by other news stations, such as NRK, referred to the suspected murderer as a “woman,” as police scrambled to revise their previous references to the accused as having been a man.

“The police initially reported that it was a man who had been arrested and suspected of the murder. This morning, the police changed the charge to a woman for the murder. A revision was made,” NRK wrote in their correction.

Police have said that the 18-year-old male in custody will be treated in accordance with his self-declared gender identity.

On social media, Norwegian women’s rights advocates condemned the confusion.

“In other words, a man has killed a woman. In other words, a classic partner murder. With pronouns,” one user wrote in response to a screenshot of a revised article that began circulating on social media.

“Is this the trans genocide we keep hearing about?” another sarcastically remarked.

The 18-year-old suspect has been remanded to prison for two weeks so that psychiatric evaluations can be conducted. He has not commented on his charges.

Norway has become notorious for its extremely lenient gender self-identification laws, and introduced “gender identity” into its hate crime legislation as a protected characteristic in January of 2021. Since then, a number of people have been placed under criminal investigation for failing to affirm a transgender person’s identity.

Shortly after the legislation was revised, a Norwegian man was sentenced to 21 days in prison and a fine of 15,000NRK after being found guilty of “insulting” and “misgendering” a trans-identified male on Facebook. The next year, a women’s rights advocate was investigated by police after stating that males could not be mothers.

It’s entirely possible that, given enough time, probable Dutch Prime Minister Geert Wilders will prove to be yet another ostensibly conservative politician who has feet of clay. We’ve certainly seen enough of that across the West, especially in America. However, Wilders is off to an awesome start because he’s been loudly defending both Israel and his country against Islamic depredations.

Western Enlightenment ideas that have long governed America and the post-WWII West cannot exist simultaneously with Islam. Because Islam is the integration of politics and faith, it will not tolerate a system in which the government (1) cannot mandate faith or (2) must provide equal protection under the law for all, regardless of race, religion, sex, etc.

Combining Islam and classic Western values is like combining matter and anti-matter. The consequences are violent. However, unlike a real chemical reaction in which both are destroyed, in this case, you can plan on Islam winning. It’s more vicious, and the West has lost faith in itself, along with the will to fight. Or maybe, just maybe, the will to fight is returning.

Europe has been on the receiving end of virtually unchecked Muslim—and often radically Islamist—immigration since 2015. Add that new population to Europe’s already large, preexisting Muslim population (mostly from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in England, Algeria in France, and Turkey in Germany), and you have the recipe for the disaster that comes to every non-Muslim culture that allows its Muslim population to explode.

We’re beginning to see pushback, though. In Ireland, where 20% of the population isn’t native to Ireland, people in Dublin went on a rampage after hearing that an immigrant had stabbed multiple people, including children. Perhaps these residents of a famously anti-Israel country will start to figure out that Israel’s war is their war. The Islamists who want to purge the Middle East of the tiny Jewish nation have already turned their eyes to the West.

Geert Wilders, the leader of what is now the biggest party in parliament, unlike so many elite Westerners, gets this. If the West doesn’t make a stand to defend itself in this existential war (which includes backing Israel, the current frontline), the West is over, and Islam’s spread, which was checked for a few hundred years, will resume.

In keeping with his support for Israel, Wilders got Arab nations’ knickers in a collective twist when he said that the Gazastinians and West Bankians should go to Jordan. He’s right, too. Since 1922, the true two-state solution has been for Israel to be the Jewish land, with Jordan being the Arab land—but of course, this was another plan the Arabs rejected. (And as a reminder, unlike the Jews, Arabs have no long-standing historical connection to the land of Israel.)

But Wilders isn’t just keeping his eye on events thousands of miles from the Netherlands. Instead, he’s taking a stand close to home, too. One day ago, he announced that, unless the 700,000 Muslims who subscribe to Sharia law are willing to comply with Dutch values and laws, they need to “get out” and head to an Islamic country:

Normal Dutch people, raised in the nation’s longstanding values of tolerance, are thrilled. While the media may dream that Wilders will be unable to put together a coalition following his party’s majority victory in the Dutch parliament, a recent poll shows that 65% of Dutch people want him to become the Prime Minister. No wonder Wilders is confident that he will get the job. After that, he intends to have a referendum to remove Holland from the EU.

If Wilders is the new Prime Minister, he could be the tipping point for a resurgent Western culture. Once, I would have said Europe was doomed, but maybe there’s still a little fight left in the old gal.

Can an implication be a crime? Britain’s hate-speech laws are notoriously draconian—except for those who are chanting “jihad” at a pro-Palestine event, apparently. For the rest of society, a recent ruling has expanded the scope of hate-speech laws to a grim new level.

Earlier this month, Michael Chadwell, a former officer in London’s Metropolitan Police, was found guilty at London Magistrates’ Court of one count of sending by public communication grossly offensive racist messages.

Chadwell retired in 2015. The message, a meme he had not created but merely shared, was sent last year in a private WhatsApp group of other retired police officers. Now convicted under the Communications Act 2003, this “grossly offensive” message could land the 62-year-old former officer with a prison sentence of up to six months when he is sentenced in December.

The image that Chadwell shared showed parrots of different colours and children of different ethnicities with the words “Why do we cherish the variety of colour in every species except our own?” Below this was a Facebook comment: “Because I’ve never had a bike stolen out of my front yard by a parrot.”

The image contained no racial slur, nor did it mention any specific ethnicity. Chadwell was convicted not for the meme’s content, but for what it allegedly implied. The “absolute clear implication” of the post, ruled district judge Tan Ikram, is that “black people steal.” “It’s a clearly racist generalisation and characterisation, and caricature of ethnic people,” he added. “I have no doubt in my mind that it’s grossly offensive.” He rejected Chadwell’s argument that the image was merely a silly joke in the style of Monty Python.

Even if one does not accept Chadwell’s account (“oops, not too woke,” he wrote after sending the image), this ruling sets a very worrying precedent. Ikram has taken it upon himself to draw an inference from the image, and has then decided that this inference is grossly offensive and potentially warrants prison time.

Hate-speech laws, turning as they do on the concept of ‘offence,’ are already highly subjective and thus open to being politicised, raising the question of who decides what counts as offensive, and to whom. But the prospect of judges ruling on the putative “implication” of a message is a recipe for even more arbitrary tyranny.

It looks an awful lot like thought-policing. After all, making an implication and drawing an inference are both things that may or may not happen in someone’s mind. Who is to say what the correct interpretation of a given text is, what the author’s intent was, and whether these match up? (If this were straightforward, there would be little need for literary criticism, for one thing). All communication contains ambiguity, and whether a possible implication is taken depends on the reader. Indeed, even Ikram’s own description of the supposedly “clear implication” of the image is far from precise: does it suggest that “black people steal” or is it a “caricature of ethnic people” more generally? Yet despite being unable to say clearly what the image’s implication is, Ikram has seen fit to rule that it is criminal.

This sets an extremely censorious precedent: that, if a judge can infer a politically incorrect meaning from a message—even on a private group chat, and regardless of whether that meaning is intended—it could potentially land the sender in prison. This is a particularly worrying prospect for speech online, where irony and satire are frequent, and context is king. Given that such offences are subject merely to summary conviction, when these cases end up in court, innocence or guilt rest on the whim and interpretation of a single magistrate.

This situation is all the more worrying given that Britain’s judiciary contains judges like Ikram, whose record leaves little doubt as to the political views which motivate his rulings.

Ikram seems fully to have embraced cynical racial narratives which are common in the U.S., as evinced by a lecture he gave in February to American law students on “Diversity in the Judiciary.” He noted that black Britons are more likely to be stopped and searched or subjected to force by the UK police. He castigated the Metropolitan Police over the Gangs Violence Matrix, a crime database which it was forced to retire last year after a review found that 80% of those named on it were black. Ikram, following the dogmas of critical race theory, argued that such statistical disparities are evidence of police racism. Of course, this is not a valid inference to draw if one accounts for disparities in underlying crime rates. But this hasn’t stopped Ikram from attempting to change what he sees as a culture of racial bias in British policing, telling students, “We’ve still got a lot of work to do.”

He even boasted how he had jailed for 20 weeks another former policeman, constable James Watts, after he posted in a WhatsApp group “offensive” memes mocking George Floyd, the 46-year-old African-American whose death in May 2020 sparked the Black Lives Matter riots. “This was a [former] police officer bringing the police service into disrepute,” he said. “So I gave him a long prison sentence. The police were horrified by that.”

Given his embrace of identitarian ideologies, few will be surprised to learn that Ikram waxes hyper-sensitive about speech only in select cases. In August, Ikram heard the case of “Sarah Jane Baker,” a transwoman (i.e., a man) who had been out on licence while serving a life sentence for attempted murder, kidnapping, and torture. In July, Baker told an audience of trans activists, “If you see a TERF [trans-exclusionary radical feminist], punch them in the fucking face.” Ikram somehow ruled that this was not criminal speech inciting violence against gender-critical feminists. Again using his gift for seeing into defendants’ minds, he decided that Baker was simply seeking “publicity.”

All this would be bad enough if Ikram were merely a rogue activist judge. But he and his ideas are in truth well embedded in the British judicial establishment. Ikram is among contributors to the Equal Treatment Bench Book, UK judiciary diversity guidance which employs critical-race-theory concepts like “systemic” or “structural” racism, “unconscious bias,” and “micro-aggressions.” Last year, he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for “services to judicial diversity.”

In the past month, as protests have rocked Britain’s streets, the public have rightly been outraged to see “pro-Palestine” activists violate sacred monuments to our war dead with impunity, even as police zealously kettle and arrest any white “football hooligans” wherever they gather. Last week, after a hugely disrespectful pro-Palestine march marred the solemn remembrance weekend, an anonymous Met Police officer admitted the reason for the double-standard to the Daily Mail: “Put simply, senior officers are terrified of being accused of racism if they fully enforce the law against pro-Palestinian protesters.” Little wonder, given how extensively identitarian ideologies have captured the British justice system.

Last year, 47,923 Germans were victims of violent immigrants, according to statistics from the German federal government, with one top police union official describing the data as “frightening.”

This data comes directly from the Federal Criminal Police Office’s (BKA) situation report on serious crimes committed by foreigners who came to the country as refugees and asylum seekers. The troubling figures from the BKA show an 18 percent increase from the previous year. Although foreigners make up a far smaller share of the overall population, around 13 percent, they are committing a tremendous amount of crime against German citizens.

On the other side, 12,061 foreigners were victims of a suspect with German citizenship.

However, it is important to note that Germans in the crime statistics are not exactly ethnic Germans. Everyone with German citizenship, including, for example, ethnic Turks or ethnic Moroccans, is considered German in statistics. So, it is unclear how many of these foreigners were attacked or raped by ethnic Germans and how many were attacked or raped by foreigners who received German citizenship or are the children of first- or second-generation immigrants.

Based on the current data, Germans are four times more likely to be attacked by an immigrant than vice versa.

All of these violent crimes are classified by the BKA as rape, assault, murder, and robbery. When the 47,923 German victims are broken down into specific categories, the data shows that 258 Germans fell victim to murder, attempted murder or manslaughter committed by immigrants, with 38 of these victims dying, while the others survived the attacks. On the other side, 89 immigrants were victims of crimes that involved at least one German perpetrator, with five of them losing their lives.

Those most willing to attack Germans are those whose asylum applications were rejected, along with immigrants from North African countries like Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. While this group makes up only 0.8 percent of migrants, they account for 8.5 percent of all asylum seekers suspected of committing a violent crime.

The chairman of the Federal Police Union, Heiko Teggatz, said the crime data showing the rate of violent crime committed by migrants is “frightening.”

“What many have always suspected has now been proven. There is no more room for whitewashing. The federal and state governments must now act consistently and exhaust all possibilities to deport such criminals,” he said.

Under a new law that would dramatically increase foreigners receiving German citizenship, the country’s crime statistics are expected to become skewed. In fact, many of these foreigners would then be classified as “Germans” in the crime statistics, and if they were to assault a foreigner or another German, they would be listed as a “German” suspect.

US technology billionaire Elon Musk has lashed out at Ireland’s Prime Minister Leo Varadkar amid what many see as his Government’s plans to crack down on freedoms in the country.

Irish authorities have vowed to tighten mass surveillance in the wake of rioting in Dublin on November 23, which itself was in retaliation to a stabbing of three children.

Blaming the country’s nebulous “far-right” for the violence, Varadkar insisted Ireland needed the Government’s proposed hate-speech laws now more than ever.

The bill has previously been condemned internationally, with many fearing the legislation would effectively render the possession of offensive memes illegal, among other things.

Varadkar added the laws would enable the state to “go after” the “far-right” at a personal level.

“They’re to blame and we’re going to get them,” he said.

The statement provoked outrage online. Among critics, Musk waded in to condemn Varadkar as acting against the interests of his own citizens.

Apparent free-speech clampdowns are not the only way the Irish Government is looking to target its critics. Authorities have also promised a significant expansion of Irish State surveillance. The Government wants to legalise AI-powered facial recognition technology to catch those responsible for such violence.

Helen McEntee, the country’s embattled justice minister, has vowed to “bring forward” legalising the technology in the hope of cracking down on the “thugs and criminals” involved in last week’s riots.

Opposition politicians have been critical of the move. Senior Labour Party politician Aodhán Ó Ríordáin described the bill as a way of distracting attention from what he said were the Government’s repeated failures.

Officials have also taken to targeting high-profile figures they feel have influenced public opinion. Among them was popular UFC fighter Conor McGregor, who came under fire for his repeated attacks on Irish migration policy.

The sportsman and entrepreneur has rallied criticism of the Government in recent days, attacking it for failing to prevent the stabbing of the children.

“Ireland, we are at war,” he wrote on his social media account.

McGregor also hinted at the possibility of becoming involved in Irish politics himself, stating that if officials failed to present a plan to deal with what he called “migrant crime”, he would step in.

According to a report in The Times, the fighter is now being investigated by Irish police for alleged “hate speech”.

Geert Wilders, who won a blowout parliamentary race in the Netherlands last week, gaining 37 seats, is primarily viewed through the prism of his opposition to Islamist immigration, which has been creating problems in his home country.

His victory was bad news for Hamas, the Taliban, ISIS, assorted Jihadis, and masses of would-be rapists, loafers, and crimigrants who view the Netherlands as a fine harvest.

But there’s another group that fared just as badly — the greenie fanatics, who seek to create a “net zero emissions” society — by any means necessary. That means an increasingly oppressive, coercive and extractive state. They are all in on shutting down and expropriating farms, and driving energy prices through the roof as well as putting the manacles on industry through draconian regulation.

Their leader, Frans Timmermans, was widely expected to win the election, and got the surprise of his life with the news that his biggest nghtmare, Geert Wilders instead had come out on top — and that voters had sent him packing.

Now it’s panic time.

One of the big losers of this week’s Dutch elections, in which right-winger Geert Wilders romped to victory, was Frans Timmermans, leader of a newly formed alliance of the Labour and Green parties. Timmermans is best known internationally as the former vice-president of the European Commission, where he was the architect and face of the EU’s flagship climate policy, the European Green Deal. To fans, he was hailed as the EU’s ‘climate pope’. Yet it is no exaggeration to say his stringent climate targets are set to impoverish Europe.

It seems the European mainstream media are finally taking note of the disastrous consequences of Timmermans’s Net Zero zealotry. Last week, Politico warned that his EU climate policies could be about to set off a wave of deindustrialisation on a scale we haven’t seen in 50 years.

The report asked the question: ‘Does the architect of Europe’s Green Deal truly understand what he’s unleashed?’ The answer can only be a resounding ‘Yes’.

Timmermans is no ordinary tree-hugging green with some tree spikes in his pocket. He’s an establishment green, a greenie with a draconian Klaus Schwab-style agenda seeking to destroy capitalism and progress in the name of going green, and forcing subsistence poverty onto previously prosperous societies.

He was the right hand man of sanctimonious European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen, and bore the extended title of Executive Vice President of the European Commission for the European Green Deal, as well as the European Commissioner for Climate Action. Fancy titles like that made him a ‘let them eat bugs’ kind of guy.

Spiked notes that he was a pretty merciless one:

One of Timmermans’s flagship policies is the EU’s Nature Restoration Law, which formally demands that countries restore, by 2030, at least 30 per cent of poor-condition agricultural land, peatlands, forests, rivers and ‘marine habitats such as seagrasses or sediment bottoms’. That requirement then rises to 90 per cent by 2050. [Big corporations are fans.] The problem with this scheme is that it will significantly reduce the land available to farmers. It is this type of measure that has led to recent protests not just in Timmermans’s home country of the Netherlands, but also in Italy.

Timmermans hasn’t just confined himself to wreaking havoc in agriculture – he’s also taken aim at the automotive industry. Under him, the European Commission has required that makers of new city buses switch to 100 per cent zero-emissions vehicles by 2030, and that manufacturers of new lorries meet ever more demanding targets.

The list goes on, all of his greenie hobbyhorses utter crushers for working people.

The truth is that Timmermans is simply indifferent to deindustrialisation in the EU. Indeed, as noted in Politico, he ‘has been candid about the cost of his revolution’ and has warned that ‘the journey will be harder on some than on others’. Back in 2020, Timmermans admitted to the European Parliament that his wild goose chase for Net Zero would be ‘bloody hard’.

 He’s an EU and Klaus Schwab loyalist, not a loyalist to the Netherlands. Ruling that country would be all about imposing their green agenda on the Dutch as a conquered people, not serving as their leader.

Any questions as to why this human nightmare lost his election? He gained a few seats in his broad leftist coalation, but nothing like what Wilders gained.

Now it’s panic time for the green left as their green agenda heads for the compost pile with Wilders. That’s a good thing.

Which suggests that maybe immigration so loudly touted by the press wasn’t the biggest key issue among voters, though I am sure it was uite strong.

With Timmermans and his greenie diktat agenda standing on the other side of Wilders, it’s quite likely that the green agenda was what drove the Dutch to vote for Wilders. Wilders did experience a sharp surge at the last minute in voter support, which explains why his victory was such as surprise.

It may have come down to this guy being green and oppressive and determined to make a hash of the Dutch economy which did it.

Republicans in the states should take note of the green havoc Joe Biden’s comparable straitjacket policies have caused in the U.S., and hammer him on that for all it’s worth, too. Greenism is at least as potent as illegal migration for patriots and populists determined to beat back the left.

And this West now hates itself to the point of generating crazy paradoxes every day. Under these circumstances, how long can our house, the increasingly divided house of the civilized world, stand?

And while in Canada – the country of Leonard Cohen, Saul Bellow and Mordechai Richler, one of the most peaceful and safe places in the world until a few years ago – Molotov cocktails are thrown against synagogues, stars of David and threatening letters are painted on Jewish homes. University of Alberta Samantha Pearson, the head of the campus’ sexual assault centre, signed an open letter denying that Hamas-led terrorists raped Israeli women during the devastating assault of October 7th.

At the same time, Gretchen Felker-Martin, the well known horror writer and transgender activist, defined the blowing up the World Trade Center as “probably the most defensible thing he (Bin Laden) did”.

The West has rotted to the point that high percentages of young people sympathize with the writings of Osama bin Laden.

The president of New York University’s “non-binary students” also defended Hamas.

Meanwhile, the third largest Norwegian newspaper, Dagbladet, of one of those countries that consider themselves rational and enlightened, managed to write that Israel had started the war, then had to add that on October 7th, Hamas had first killed 1,200 Israelis.

Meanwhile, a professor at Exeter University in England hailed the “courage of Hamas”.

What is this evil acid that corrodes Western humanism, and where does it come from?

Harvey Mansfield is a great Harvard academic, a leading scholar of Machiavelli, and in Le Figaro he told this amazing paradox:

“An Iranian student in my class told me: ‘In Iran you have to be careful about what you say in public, but in private you can say pretty much whatever you want. At Harvard it’s the opposite. It is students’ self-censorship out of fear of other students, a way to keep their thoughts and doubts to themselves, even among their peers. This is a fact of life in most American universities today, especially the most prestigious ones. Only those who are considered oppressed have the right to say an identity; the others, considered oppressors, like white men, are expected to submit (…) The strange thing is that opposition to the West comes from within the West. Islamic radicalism, for all its barbarity, invites the conscience of the West to join its fight against the West.”

Over the weekend, the great Italian monuments were stormed by the symbols of the October 7th massacres. But where is the scandal?

Jelinek doesn’t say it, because she is a great writer but she is also very progressive and progressives don’t see shadows within their own world.

But horror germinates in the withered heart of the West. And it’s tangible.

A Syrian migrant living in Germany was at liberty to commit rape on Saturday evening after the Berlin public prosecutor decided he was not an imminent threat despite breaking into an elderly woman’s home the night before and attempting to strangle her to death.

An internal investigation is underway into why prosecutors opted not to press charges immediately against the 25-year-old Syrian national following his arrest on Friday evening for a violent assault on a senior citizen.

Shortly before 5 p.m., the man forced his way into his 78-year-old victim’s home on Bremer Strasse in the multicultural borough of Moabit in the German capital.

“The attacker is said to have put her in a so-called headlock and choked her,” read a Berlin police report.

“The 78-year-old called loudly for help, whereupon several relatives who also lived in the house came to her aid and were only able to free her from the 25-year-old’s grip with great effort,” it added.

The attacker fled the building and robbed a pedestrian on Wiebestrasse before he was finally arrested despite resisting, injuring himself, and being taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to BZ, the on-call public prosecutor did not determine the suspect’s actions had made him a priority to be brought before a judge to approve pre-trial detention.

“The urgent suspicion was not initially recognized,” a spokeswoman for the public prosecutor’s office told the German news outlet.

He was, therefore, free to roam the streets on Saturday and rape an asylum seeker living at the refugee accommodation on Ostpreußendamm in Lichterfelde.

The victim “managed to draw attention to herself by calling for help around 5 p.m. after a man allegedly overpowered her at the door to her room,” read the police report. “The suspect then locked the door and attacked the woman.”

The man fled the scene again and has not yet been detained by the authorities. The victim was hospitalized following the attack.

“The rape could have been prevented. How can you explain to the victim that the perpetrator should actually have been in the detention cell?” a police source told the German newspaper Bild.

Following last week’s election which revealed broad swaths of the electorate in the Netherlands have abandoned the globalist Left and Center for the sovereigntist Right, the rhetoric of far-left extremists, who have physically attacked conservative Dutch politicians in recent days, has become increasingly bellicose.

While Geert Wilders and his anti-establishment Party for Freedom (PVV) aim to form a right-of-center coalition government after having secured by far the most votes of any party, some on the extreme left are urging action to make the Netherlands “ungovernable” if the PVV is able to form a cabinet, while others are calling for violence, the Dutch news outlet Nieuw Rechts reports.

“Just wait, we won’t accept the win and will take action … Kind of ‘van der Graaf’ action,” wrote Asha-Promes-Eeckhout on X, in a not-so-thinly veiled murder threat, and what very much appears to be a reference to Volkert van der Graaf, a left-wing extremist who assassinated the Dutch populist leader Pim Fortuyn in 2002.

“Time to shoot down all PVV members,” another X user, whose account has since been deleted, wrote casually.

Wilders has been under constant police protection since 2004, mainly due to Islamist threats. Now, it appears he’ll have to worry about physical threats from the extreme Left as well.

Another far-left extremist, this time an anarchist blogger who writes under the name Peter Storm, urged his fellow political travelers to launch a “street movement” to make the Netherlands “ungovernable” in the case that Wilder and his PVV manage to stitch together what he calls an “extreme right-wing cabinet.” 

Storm writes:

The aim of such a movement is to cause so much unrest that the participation of fascists in government becomes so controversial that other parties abandon it … Causing so much unrest that the real rulers of the Netherlands—not the politicians, but the CEOs of large companies, and the top civil servants who actually control the state administration—start to worry about the country’s ability to govern, and thus the smooth functioning of the capitalist order.

The message of such a street movement to the establishment, and to the politicians who are forming a cabinet? If you form, help, or allow a fascist cabinet to form, we will make the country ungovernable and your economy unworkable. 

Other leftist activists who showed up at street protests in Amsterdam and Utrecht, one organized by Antifa, on the day after the election, reportedly called Wilders a “fascist” and “racist,” and held placards that referred to him as a “terrorist.”

Reactions to Wilder’s victory from some political parties, like the Turkish party DENK, have been equally hysterical. Abellah Dami, the press officer for the party, likened the PVV’s victory to the September 11th terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.

The intensifying militant rhetoric of the Dutch Left against Wilders and his PVV comes alongside a spate of attacks in recent days and months against right-wing leaders both in the Netherlands and elsewhere in Europe. 

Days before the election, the leader of the conservative, anti-globalist Forum for Democracy (FvD), Thierry Baudet, was taken to the hospital after an extremist hit him in the face multiple times with a glass beer bottle. The attack against Baudet was the second of its kind in a month. In October, a man wielding a folded umbrella ambushed Baudet, hitting him in the face, as he walked into an auditorium in Ghent to deliver a lecture.

In the past months, attacks even more violent than those committed against Baudet have been carried out against conservative, anti-establishment politicians in Germany and Spain. 

Earlier this month, Alejandro Vidal-Quadras, one of the founders of Spain’s national-conservative VOX party was shot in the face in broad daylight in the streets of Madrid. In October, the AfD co-leader Tino Chrupalla was hospitalized after being injected with an unknown substance at a campaign event in Ingolstadt. 

Months earlier, in August, Andreas Jurca, the chairman of the AfD in the Bavarian district of Augsburg and candidate for the state legislature, was beaten to a pulp by a gang of migrant males who recognized him.
