French Far-Left Party Refuses to Join Cross-Party Protest Against Antisemitism

The leading far-left party in France has refused to join a bi-partisan march against antisemitism in Paris on Sunday amid accusations of siding with the “fifth column” of Islamists in the country.

La France Insoumise (LFI), the far-left parliamentary party founded by socialist Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who is often compared to Bernie Sanders in the United States and Jeremy Corbyn in Britain, announced that it will not join a cross-party organised demonstration against antisemitism called by President of the Senate Gérard Larcher of the centre-right Les Républicains and President of the National Assembly Yaël Braun-Pivet of President Macron’s neo-liberal Rennaisance party.

The leftist party justified its decision to not attend the protest because of the inclusion of the right-wing populist National Rally (RN), which they accused of racism and having a history of “collaboration with Nazism”, Le Figaro reports.

This was likely referencing comments questioning the Holocaust made in the 1980s by former National Front leader Jean-Marie Le Pen, who was expelled from the party by his daughter Marine Le Pen over his controversial remarks, such as minimizing Nazi gas chambers as merely a “detail” of history and expressing doubt about six million Jews being killed during the Holocaust.

However, current RN party president Jordan Bardella said that while he believes that Jean-Marie Le Pen was not antisemitic, he claimed that the present right-wing “political movement is perfectly irreproachable”.

“The political break between Marine Le Pen and Jean-Marie Le Pen took place precisely on the question of anti-Semitism, even going so far as to exclude her own father from the National Front,” he added.

Bardella went on to accuse the LFI of representing a new form of antisemitism that is “tinged with the green of Islamism and the red of cultural leftism”.

He accused the leftist party of being “collaborators of an ideology which has constituted itself as a fifth column in our society” and Jean-Luc Mélenchon of being the “spokesman for Hamas in France”.

In its statement refusing to join the demonstration against antisemitism in Paris, the LFI renewed its call “ceasefire” between Israel and Hamas, while also calling for “the release of the hostages”.

The call for a bi-partisan protest comes amid rising antisemitic acts throughout France, with 1,040 antisemitic incidents being recorded since the October 7th Hamas terror attacks.

Jewish areas of Paris have also seen vandals stencil the Stars of David symbols on buildings in a grim reminder of the Nazi era.

Veteran Spanish right-wing politician Alejandro Vidal-Quadras has been taken to a hospital in Madrid after being shot in a street in the capital, police said Thursday.

Police said he was shot in the face on a central street around 1:30 p.m. local time and was conscious when taken to a hospital.

Vidal Cuadras, 78, was a long-time member of Spain’s conservative Popular Party, its regional leader in Catalonia, and a European Parliament member before he broke away to help found the far-right Vox party. He left Vox shortly after a failed attempt to win a European lawmaker seat in 2014.

Police are investigating the shooting.

Hamas supporters flee to Switzerland after German government announces ban on activities

A number of members of groups which support the Hamas and Samidoun terror organizations have fled Germany for Switzerland after the German government outlawed the groups.

Shortly after the October 7 massacre in Israel, Samidoun activists distributed cakes and candies in Berlin, Germany. The organization’s purpose is to provide economic support for terrorists who carry out terror attacks in Israel.

The group succeeded in fleeing Germany before the law banning it went into force throughout the country.

Last week, German Federal Minister of the Interior and Homeland Nancy Faeser announced a complete ban on activities of the Hamas and Samidoun terror organizations.

Samidoun was recognized as a terror organization by Israel several years ago. The organization, which claims its objective is to fight for “the Prisoners of Palestine,” is affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

“As Federal Minister of the Interior, I am today banning the activities of HAMAS and Samidoun in Germany and dissolving Samidoun in Germany,” the Minister wrote on X.

Spain: Jihadi network busted, 14 Pakistanis arrested in major anti-terror operation

14 persons of Pakistani origin arrested in Spain, image via ANI

Police in Spain arrested 14 Pakistan-origin individuals and busted a suspected jihadist network based in the country, Euro Weekly News reported.

The arrests were made as part of an operation initiated by Spain’s General Information Commissioner’s Office after the anti-terrorist alert level was raised in the country following Hamas’ attack on Israel a month ago. Spanish Security Forces redoubled surveillance on suspects in order to avoid possible attacks, Euro Weekly News reported.

All of the detainees were of Pakistani origin and are said to have lived in Catalonia, Valencia, Guipuzcoa, Vitoria, Logrono and Lleida, according to Euro Weekly News, the largest English newspaper in Spain.

Police sources confirmed the arrests to La Razon, a local daily. Those arrested will be reportedly produced in court on Wednesday (local time).

Euro Weekly News reported that it is believed that these individuals formed a network in which jihadist messages and a high degree of radicalisation were transmitted online.

David Atherton, a journalist at The European Conservative posted on social media app X stating that these 14 Pakistani jihadists are linked to Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) an Islamic extremist political party in Pakistan.

“In Spain 14 Pakistani jihadists have been arrested for terrorist activities. They lived in Catalonia, Valencia, Guipuzcoa, Vitoria, Logrono & Lleida. They are linked to Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan an Islamic extremist political party in Pakistan,” he said.

A similar anti-terror operation was carried out by the Spain’s national police last month where the police caught four suspected jihadists, reported Euro Weekly News.

Those four suspects were arrested in the Granada municipality of Huetor-Tajar, Cubelles in Barcelona, and Madrid, for ‘proselytism and jihadist recruitment’, the Spanish weekly said.

Reportedly, among those arrested was a man named “Caliph” who authorities said was the “creator and administrator of several groups in which he tried to indoctrinate young people in the jihadist creed.”

A married couple who had apparently been brought together after joining one of these online social media groups was also among those held, Euro Weekly News reported. Adding to this, the fourth suspected jihadist was said to have been an ‘indoctrinated’ individual.

Scholz is using the Macron playbook to fool the German public on mass immigration

With backlash growing against mass immigration across Germany, the country’s media and political establishment is waging a tried-and-tested campaign to steer voters away from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) and ensure they keep power.

These same journalists and politicians are, however, not having second thoughts about their goal of massively increasing immigration to Germany and creating a post-European, multicultural regime in the heart of Europe.

France shows the way for the German political class, as it has dealt with a far more difficult and larger immigration population for far longer — all against the opposition of the French people. Remix News has long reported how polls going back decades have shown the French overwhelmingly opposed to mass immigration, even in far greater numbers than the Germans. In fact, the French are downright right-wing in their views on migrants, to the point that even a majority of those voting for left-wing parties are outright hostile to more newcomers. Olaf Scholz, who is an ally of Macron, has obviously taken notes.

Like Macron, Scholz is aided by a media establishment firmly in his camp. The left-liberal government realizes that pressure is growing on immigration to the point that some “tough talk” is needed for the time being, even if the end goal is to increase immigration numbers namely through legal immigration.

In order to understand how Scholz is using the Macron playbook, it is first worth looking at his latest “bombshell” interview in Der Spiegel. The normally pro-migration publication splashed Olaf Scholz on its cover recently with the headline stating: “We must finally deport on a large scale.” Der Spiegel is not painting Scholz in a negative light. In fact, it is there to help him sell his message.

The article itself, which can also be read in English here, features glossy photos of Scholz looking ready to tackle the immigration crisis single-handedly. It is in short an advertisement posing as journalism — one that will prominently feature Scholz at supermarket checkout counters and in doctors’ waiting rooms where many come across the magazine. Most will not even bother reading the contents of the article, but that is just as well for Scholz and his government.

During the interview, Scholz, like Macron often does, walks a fine line, saying immigration must be controlled to save Germany’s social system:

“Anyone who wants unlimited immigration has to be honest and say that we would then not be able to maintain the welfare state we have today. So that doesn’t make us inhumane. Because we are responsible for ensuring that our community functions. This also includes a certain level of hardness. You have to have the strength to tell people that, unfortunately, they can’t stay here.”

To understand Scholz’s pivot to talking tough on immigration, let us take a look at what Macron has been saying for years now — and how Scholz has often imitated him. As Macron demonstrates, he has an incredible ability to pander to all audiences, even in the same interview, while offering no meaningful reform or action on the issue of immigration.

Deportations

All the way back in 2019, Emmanuel Macron said in an interview with Valeurs Actuelles that he wanted “100 percent” of all migrants to be deported who should not be in France. The country’s deportation rate has never topped 15 percent, and for certain problematic groups, such as Algerians, the deportation rate is an abysmal 0.2 percent.

Scholz, just like Macron, has no real intention of deporting anyone in serious numbers. The country’s police union head, Rainer Wendt, has thrown cold water on Scholz’s “tough” immigration announcement in Der Speigel, telling FOCUS: ‘“For around 50,000 people who are legally obliged to leave the country, it would take more than 80 years to deport them to their homeland, during which millions would have arrived here.”

In fact, the German government’s bill would only lead to 600 more cases of deportations. “People are really tired of being led by the nose like that, the traffic light (coalition) really shouldn’t be surprised that their poll numbers are plummeting,” Wendt further said. “Every child who has mastered basic arithmetic recognizes the government’s deception, especially Chancellor Scholz, who is trying to sell these plans as a change in asylum with pithy words.”

Immigration and Culture

In 2020, Macron said that France’s Muslims were in danger of forming a “counter-society.” He said that Islamic “separatism” was a threat to France. He also stated: “Islam is a religion that is in crisis all over the world today, we are not just seeing this in our country.” Macron, in the same speech, then said those who criticize the Muslim community are “extremists.”

Also in 2020, following the beheading of history teacher Samuel Paty by a young Muslim student, Macron announced a “crackdown” on Islam, which included efforts to ban foreign money for imams, efforts to teach Arabic in schools, and the allocation of €10 million to promote Islamic culture.

Just this month, in response to pro-Palestinian protests against Israel, Macron stated that “the state will be merciless with those who embody hatred,” while announcing that his government would crack down on extremist foreigners with deportation. Already in 2020, there were 8,132 people in the FSPRT database for those radicalized as potential terrorists, of which 4,111 were foreigners and another 851 were illegal immigrants. The French Ministry of the Interior announced at that time the “terrorist risk from those of Sunni origin remains the main threat facing our country.”

Meanwhile, Scholz, in response to pro-Palestinian demonstrations, said during the Der Spiegel interview, “Such acts are reprehensible. And yes, we have committed ourselves to ‘Never Again.’ That is why we must decisively stand up to all those who chant anti-Semitic slogans, who burn the Israeli flag, who unashamedly celebrate the death of those killed in the Hamas terror attack. They are all crimes that must be punished.”

Border Security

In 2020, Macron said during a visit to France’s border with Spain that “I am in favor of a deep overhaul of Schengen to re-think its organization and to strengthen our common border security with a proper border force.”

The following year, in 2021, Macron’s government banned Generation Identity, a youth group focused on preserving French identity. The group was targeted for performing its “Defend Europe” actions both in the Alps and at the Spanish border showcasing how easy it is for illegal migrants to cross into French territory.

Like Macron, Scholz has often called for tighter border security at the EU’s external borders. It has been empty rhetoric from both leaders. Instead, both have shifted toward pushing their migrants into countries like Hungary and Poland. Scholz, in his Der Spiegel interview, states: “And we have agreed on a new solidarity mechanism in the EU: Refugees are to be registered in their first country of entry instead of merely being waved through to Germany. In return, they will be fairly distributed throughout Europe. The European Parliament will hopefully approve this mechanism in the coming months.”

Taking both sides of the immigration issue

In 2022, Macron said that “France has always been a land of immigration. It is part of our DNA, it is the strength of our country, and we have always needed it for our economy.”

That same year, Macron said that migration from Africa and the Middle East “can make France greater.”

In August of this year, Macron said that France needs to drastically reduce immigration. He said: “Are we flooded with immigration? No. You cannot say that. But the current situation is not sustainable, and we need to reduce immigration significantly, starting with illegal immigration. We have a duty to deliver.” He then added Europe needs to better protect its external borders.

Scholz is taking a very similar line here, both celebrating immigration in his Der Spiegel interview, while also calling the need for action against irregular migration. Scholz ultimately outlines that “we are also going to need more immigration. With the modernization of our immigration laws, with the Skilled Immigration Act, we have established the conditions for the talented minds and skilled workers we need to come to us from abroad. We don’t want them to just work here, but to live here and integrate – to the degree that they urgently want to become German citizens. From my perspective, it can even be linked with a bit of emotion, as is the case in the United States.”

Der Spiegel does challenge Scholz at times and questions his motives in one part of the interview.

DER SPIEGEL: You haven’t spoken this way as German chancellor. You have left Interior Minister Nancy Faeser to deal with the situation on her own. Our impression is that the results achieved by the Alternative for Germany party in state elections in Bavaria and Hesse have convinced you to change your tune.

Scholz: Your impression is wrong. I am opposed to tactical politics. It must always be about the matter at hand and about finding concrete solutions to specific problems.

DER SPIEGEL: We have a hard time believing that.

Scholz: And yet it’s the truth. Much of what I just described has long since been discussed by the government and is on the way to becoming reality.

If a lot of these statements from both leaders seem contradictory or confusing, they are designed that way. Macron, especially, is a true professional when it comes to hoodwinking and gaslighting an entire country on the issue of immigration — even if he is only following to a large degree in his predecessor’s footprints.

The French leader typically reacts with diversionary tough immigration rhetoric after terror attacks, riots, and high-profile murders involving migrants, such as the rape and murder of 12-year-old Lola by an Algerian migrant with deportation orders. In fact, after Lola’s death, Macron said during an interview on France 2 television, “I will never make an existential link between immigration and insecurity.” In the same interview, however, he stated that foreigners are responsible for half of all the crime in Paris, saying: “Yes, when we look at delinquency in Paris, we can see that half of the delinquent acts come from foreigners in an irregular situation or awaiting asylum approval.”

Macron has no problem contradicting himself directly on the issue of migration in the same interview.

Scholz is using a similar strategy because, simply put, it works. As long as you have a mostly friendly media market in your corner, these journalists can sell whatever angle to whatever segment of the public they need to at any given time, and the more contradictions, the more they can package and tailor those contradictions to the right audience. Macron is, after all, still in power, and he has arguably had to operate in far more treacherous conditions than Scholz is facing on the issue of immigration.

The stakes for Scholz and his left-liberal government are high, and with the Alternative for Germany (AfD) hovering near a record high in the polls, that party could start to win power at the state level in next year’s elections in the east of the country. At the same time, the current left-liberal government has its lowest approval rating ever; the majority of Germans say it should be removed from power and early elections should be held. The situation is existential for not only Germany’s rulers, but also those running the show in Brussels.

Scholz is ultimately trying to pivot to mass immigration from India and Asia, much like the Canadian model. The end result is no less a demographic replacement of the Germans, and more broadly other peoples across Europe, than the old model of irregular migration from the Middle East and Africa. These new Asian groups will arrive with grievances against White Europeans, and if they do not, the current left-wing education systems will indoctrinate them into these views. Future Sarah Jeongs will arrive in Germany with a grudge against Whites, and the future Humza Yousafs will complain that Germany’s political class is too White, that Whites have too much power.

Thousands Respond to Sunak’s Smoking Ban

One of the more contentious elements of this week’s otherwise mundane King’s Speech was Rishi Sunak’s plan to ban smoking for anyone born after 2009. The Conservative government hopes this will bring about a “smokefree generation,” thus “creating a better and brighter future for our children.”

It is so contentious, in fact, that a consultation on the proposal established by the Department of Health less than a month ago has already picked up more than 12,000 responses. And there is still a month to go.

The government’s consultation asks respondents for their views on its intention to “protect future generations from the harms of smoking” by banning tobacco products for certain Britons and to “crack down” on youth vaping.

The content of these submissions is not yet publicly available. But the response to the initial announcement might already suggest which way the current 12,000 individuals and organisations lean.

Well over half of Conservative Party voters are understood to oppose the measure. Some senior Tory MPs have lauded their views, including former Prime Minister Liz Truss, who is still considered a leading light among some of the party’s circles. Frank Haviland has emphasised their stance in The European Conservative, describing the proposal as “illiberal gibberish.”

Others are simply bemused that this of all policies is being pushed ahead, given the many issues that face the country. Bow Group Chairman Ben Harris-Quinney asked, “Even in terms of self-preservation, why would you make a smoking ban your flagship policy? Piddling while Rome burns.”

Sunak is trying to win support by highlighting the proportion of cancer deaths caused by tobacco and noting:

Smoking is a deadly habit, so we are making the biggest single public health intervention in a generation to stop our kids from ever being able to buy a cigarette. This will protect their health both now and in [the] future—saving tens of thousands of lives and saving the NHS billions of pounds.

The consultation, which closes in December and can be found here, will assess how convinced Britons are by the prime minister’s approach—though whether or not this will impact his policy agenda is another question altogether.

Savagery: The True Nature of the World – Deal with it

If you want an indicator of how lost Western civilization has become, go to your kids’ school and check their rules on fighting. Most likely, you’ll find out if two kids get into a fight, both get suspended, regardless of whether one was a punk bully who started it and the other was simply defending himself or some little kid. This is a moral disaster, of course – violence in the defense of what is right is a moral obligation and a symbol of a greater rot within society. This is the kind of rule created by middle-aged, divorced cat women who can neither find nor satisfy a man and live in a tranquil bubble of affluent, frivolous safety and security created by their harder, worthier forbearers who understood the world’s true nature.

The true nature of the world is savagery.

The world’s true nature is that good is forever pitted against evil.

That has never changed. What happened over the last 70 years or so was an interregnum of peace in the West, created by violence against barbarians and facilitated by people willfully looking away from the butchery still continuing at the fringes of the map. The West managed to build a civilization that was – for the first time in history since perhaps the Pax Romana – generally internally peaceful. And the West convinced itself that this was normal.

But it was not normal. It was an anomaly, a glorious one, but an anomaly nonetheless. The world is not a peaceful place, and it never was, and it never will be. Despite the best efforts of the arrogant left, human nature has not changed. Human nature is vicious and cruel. Rousseau’s noble savage nonsense, which we are still dealing with today in the form of eager sophomores in Che t-shirts slobbering over Hamas psychopaths – is a giant fraud. Savages are not distinguished by their nobility. Their savagery distinguishes them. And we need to find the moral strength to do what is necessary to defeat them.

We must learn again to kill. We must learn again to destroy. We must learn again to be ruthless in defeating our enemies. The big lie that Western civilization tells itself is that there are no real enemies, that there are no bad people – except the people of the West themselves, who bear some sort of original sin for not being corrupt and inept Third World barbarians.

We do have enemies, as we have seen. We do have enemies, as they tell us. When they talk about decolonization, they are talking about de-you-ization. When they talk about killing settlers, you need to understand that you are a settler, and they mean killing you. They mean raping your daughter in front of you. They mean chopping your baby’s head off. They mean slaughtering your wife or husband, sons and daughters, and even your dog. And they mean enjoying it, reveling in the ecstatic glee of mass murder, and being so proud of it that they call home to their daddies and brag about it, or put up their body cam videos on TikTok.

The world was always a savage place. What happened on October 7 was not an anomaly. It was normality. What do you think happened to sacked cities in the past, which is what these Gaza-adjacent towns in Southern Israel essentially were? The attackers captured their objective, burned and razed the buildings, stole everything they could carry, raped anyone without a penis and some with, and piled corpses in the streets. We’re stunned simply because we forgot what a sack is, but for most of human history, people lived in terror of it happening to them, hoping for the chance to inflict one upon their neighbors.

We in the West, of which Israel is a part and thereby is hated, forgot about this. Worse, we have forgotten our strength and our courage. We have forgotten that we survive not through gentle hugging but through sword-swinging. For example, we have forgotten how to conduct a siege. The idea that Israel should somehow give these Hamas barbarians food, water, and electrical power even if it surrounds Gaza and prepares to attack is mind-boggling insanity. The moral illiteracy of expecting Israel to care more about the Palestinian people than other Palestinians do is simply bizarre.

Remember the Pax Romana? Do you think that peace just sort of occurred because everybody shared their feelings openly and without restraint? Do you know how the Romans did sieges? Let’s talk about Caesar at Alesia. The Gauls had gotten uppity and killed a lot of Romans, so Caesar decided to pacify them. The barbarian leader Vercingetorix took refuge in the hilltop town, and Caesar immediately surrounded it. He had his legionnaires build a giant wall around it to lock the Gauls inside. The Gauls called their friends for help, so Caesar built another wall around his besieging forces to keep the relief column at bay. He starved out Alesia, eventually forcing the Gauls to attack and defeating them handily. Then he took Vercingetorix back to Rome, made him march in chains in triumph, and then had his defeated enemy strangled. This was an important learning point for the barbarians. Don’t screw with civilized people, or everybody dies.

This is how you get a Pax Romana. There’s no other way.

The hard truth is that the world contains bad people who must be crushed through ruthless violence, which shocks and horrifies modern sensibilities. But it is reality nonetheless. When people want to kill you, you are at a decision point. You can either let them kill you or stop them. But stopping them often involves aesthetically displeasing actions, such as blowing them into little bits with bombs or shoving a bayonet into their guts and watching them die in agony. And it necessarily means inflicting death and damage on the noncombatant camp followers around them. That’s why they say war is hell. And that’s why starting one is probably not a good idea. But when someone else starts one, you have to choose them or you. Someone’s going to die badly, and you know, I propose it is those other guys.

The West didn’t start this fight, but it damn well better finish it, or they will finish us. Time to stop being soft. It’s time to stop lying to ourselves. It’s time to stop pretending that human nature took a 180° change a few decades ago and that we are not the same animals we used to be because now we have cars, airplanes, and Instagram.

We are the same brutal, cruel, and warlike creatures we have always been. Every headline, every act of hideous violence, and every pro-genocide cheer by the grad school sociopaths who fetishize Third-World savages, proves it. What we have to do is lift the scales from our eyes, understand the situation we are in, and accept it.

For the last couple of generations, we in the West have told ourselves that we have changed. We told ourselves that we are beyond violence. And we told ourselves that everyone else was too. But that was a lie.

We need to stop lying to ourselves. A society that suspends both kids when one of them slugs a bully is signing its own suicide note.

Even if our leaders refuse to be clear-eyed, you can be. Buy guns and ammunition.

CANADA: Female Powerlifter Facing Two-Year BAN for Criticizing Trans-Identified Males in Women’s Sports

A female competitive powerlifter for Team Canada who spoke out after a trans-identified male athlete set a women’s national record at a championship in Manitoba has been informed that she is facing a two-year suspension from her sport as a result. April Hutchinson shared the news to X (formerly Twitter), where she has received an outpouring of support after she slammed the situation as a “horror show.”

“I now face a 2-year ban by the [Canadian Powerlifting Union] CPU for speaking publicly about the unfairness of biological males being allowed to taunt female competitors & loot their winnings,” Hutchinson wrote.

“Apparently, I have failed in my gender-role duties as ‘supporting actress’ in the horror show that is my sport right now. Naturally, the CPU deemed MY written (private) complaint of the male bullying to be ‘frivolous and vexatious.’”

Alongside her statement, Hutchinson shared images of the notice she had received, which reported that a discipline committee had convened on October 23 and had “determined that there is sufficient evidence for Major Infraction as a result of repeating offences, including prior warning.”

“Based on the information provided, the Discipline Panel is recommending that [April Hutchinson] have her membership to the CPU suspended for 2 years. We strongly feel this is a case of a repeated offence, and should be treated as such,” the notice read.

Hutchinson was reported to the CPU on August 23 by Anne Andres, a trans-identified male athlete who set a women’s national record at a championship in Brandon, Manitoba, on August 13. Hutchinson had publicly condemned his participation in the women’s category, and appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored just days after the championship competition.

“I’ve been a powerlifter with the Canadian Powerlifting Union for about four years now. Over the last year, I have been fighting my federation to ban trans women — also known as men — from competing with women in powerlifting,” Hutchinson told host Rosanna Lockwood.

“They have ignored my pleas, as well as many other women who don’t agree with it. They’ve actually threatened to suspend me for speaking up about the matter,” she added. “The threats keep coming, and disciplinary action for speaking up has been ongoing over the last year.”

“The whole thing is disgusting. It’s disgraceful. It’s disheartening,” Hutchinson remarked. “I’ve been threatened with suspension. Two weeks ago, I received a letter from my Federation, stating that I cannot call Anne a biological male.”

In response to news of Hutchinson’s potential ban, The Daily Mail reached out to Andres for comment. He responded by telling the journalist who contacted him that “the blood of LGBT people” was on her hands, and added, “Get straight f*cked.”

Andres, 40, currently holds multiple records in the female division, including the women’s deadlift and bench press, and has placed first in nine out of the eleven competitions he has participated in over the past four years.

At the Canadian Powerlifting Union’s (CPU) 2023 Western Canadian Championship, Andres participated in the Female Masters Unequipped category, and beat out Michelle Kymanick and SuJan Gil for the first place award — with a total powerlifting score that was over 200kg more than the top-performing female in the same class.

A “total” is the sum of the heaviest weight lifted for the squat, bench press, and deadlift. Andres’ total would have placed him amongst the top-performing male powerlifters in the entire championship had he participated in the men’s category.

The Western Canadian Championships was held under the umbrella of the Canadian Powerlifting Union (CPU), which announced a gender self-identification policy earlier this year. The policy, which garnered mass backlash from women’s rights advocates, explicitly allowed any males to participate in women’s competitions on the basis of self-declared “gender” alone.

In February, the CPU’s “Trans Inclusion Policy” was released, containing an explicit statement that the CPU supported allowing transgender powerlifters to participate in the sex category of their choosing based on a guidance from the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES).

“Based on this background and available evidence, the Expert Working Group felt that trans athletes should be able to participate in the gender with which they identify, regardless of whether or not they have undergone hormone therapy,” the document reads, deferring to the “inclusivity in sport” guidance from the CCES.

Just prior to the CPU’s announcement of a gender self-identification policy, Andres gained significant notoriety after sharing a video of himself appearing to mock female athletes, asking why female powerlifters were “so bad” at bench press.

The widespread outcry against males in women’s powerlifting events, prompted by news of Andres’ participation and taunting of female athletes, motivated the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) to issue a policy change on August 21.

“For a transgender athlete to compete in the sport of powerlifting at any level, he/she must declare before competing that he/she is a transgender athlete. If an athlete fails to declare that he/she is a transgender and competes that violation leads to Disqualification of the result obtained in that Competition with all resulting Consequences, including forfeiture of any medals, points and prizes,” the IPF said in an updated policy document.

Increasing reports of male athletes identifying as female in order to compete in women’s events have attracted significant criticism. As previously reported by Reduxx, a Canadian powerlifting coach self-identified into the women’s category earlier this year and broke the Alberta women’s bench press record. Avi Silverberg was attempting to highlight the unfair advantage males have when competing in women’s athletics, in protest over the CPU’s recently implemented gender self-identification policies.

Current Trend: 15 Million Immigrants in Next 25 Years = 15 Birminghams

Speaking at the New Culture Forum’s immigration conference in October 2023, Dr. Ben Greening, Executive Director of Migration Watch delivered an important lecture addressing the scale of the problem posed by mass migration. He also compared and contrasted what the Government has SAID it would to tackle the issue vs what it actually DID. As Migration Watch points out: “Britain’s population growth is nowadays entirely due to immigration. If net migration were to continue at the present record level of 606,000 a year, Britain’s population would rise to between 83-87 million by 2046. This would represent an increase of more than 15 million in Britain’s population – equivalent to fifteen new cities the size of Birmingham. “Such mass immigration would place an intolerable strain on public services, especially health, transport and education.”

Police in Madrid, Spain, deployed tear gas and rubber bullets on Tuesday night against a protest that reportedly attracted 7,000 people to the front of the headquarters of the Socialist Workers Party of Spain (PSOE), objecting to a proposed amnesty for Catalonian separatist rioters and taunting police with anti-Muslim chants.

The protests are a result of several failed attempts by lawmakers in Parliament to form a government, as elections in July did not give President Pedro Sánchez, the head of the PSOE, enough seats in Parliament to govern. Spain’s conservatives are largely split between the establishment center-right People’s Party (PP) and the populist conservative party Vox, which collectively secured more seats than the leftist block of the PSOE and Sumar but also fell short of a governing majority.

In an attempt to form a functional governing coalition, Sánchez began floating the possibility in October of offering legal amnesty to violent rioters arrested during a wave of separatist activity in northern Catalonia in 2019.

“A national election in July left no party close to an absolute majority and with Sánchez in need of the support of several smaller parties to stay in power,” the Associated Press explained in October. “Those include two pro-secession Catalan parties who led the unsuccessful 2017 breakaway attempt and who now find themselves holding the key votes in Parliament that Sánchez requires.”

“Catalonia is ready for total reunion. Representatives of more than 80 percent of Catalans support this measure,” Sánchez said of his proposed amnesty. “And for those same reasons, in the name of Spain, in the interest of Spain, in defense of coexistence among Spaniards, I defend today the amnesty in Catalonia for the events that occurred in the past decade.”

The agreement has triggered a wave of protests nationwide from Spaniards who oppose separatism, many of them conservative voters. The protests in Madrid last night began as an anti-amnesty manifestation, though protesters more broadly objected to the PSOE and socialism.

Videos taken at the scene on Ferraz Street in Madrid, where the PSOE hub is located, show large crowds of people waving Spanish flags, organized behind a barricade erected to protect the building. Chants of “Pedro Sánchez, son of a bitch” were audible, as were other insults to the socialists and chants such as “Spain can’t be sold, it must be defended.”

Some videos circulating of what appears to be the event on Tuesday, though yet unconfirmed independently, show the crowd chanting “Spain is Christian, not Muslim,” a chant that has become common in conservative Spanish circles against the large influx of migrants from Africa and the Middle East.

The Spanish newspaper El País documented taunts against the police from protesters as officers turned violent, manhandling protesters and using tear gas. Among the taunts Spain’s paper of record documented against officers were “Spain united will never be defeated” – a nationalist take on the communist slogan “the people united will never be defeated” – and “with the Moors, you have no balls,” implying that police do not use similar force against Muslim protesters.

El País also documented a similar protest in Valencia in which anti-socialist crowds insulted Sánchez and similarly denounced the increasing number of Muslim migrants in the country, reportedly chanting the “Moors” slogan and “Spain is Christian, never Muslim.”

The Spanish newspapers ABC and El Mundo reported that the Madrid protest appeared to turn violent around 10 p.m. local time when an alleged group of “ultra” extremist disruptors appeared to throw projectiles at police. Police responded with tear gas, rubber bullets, and physical attempts to disrupt the alleged violence.

El Mundo documented what appeared to be an instance of police abuse against a young woman at the event, who they dragged by the hair to a police vehicle.

“I need to go with my children … I have to go home to my children, I wanted to go home and they didn’t let me pass,” the woman can be heard saying, to which an officer replied, “you are under arrest, shut up.”

The video does not offer context for what happened immediately prior to the woman’s arrest.

ABC, citing police sources, noted that the use of tear gas for such an event was highly unusual in the country and that police rarely received approval to use the noxious agent. The newspaper suggested that the green light for its use was given when police officers recognized known agitators blending into an otherwise peaceful crowd of protesters. Some sources told ABC that the use of tear gas had to have been approved by the government in Madrid, not merely by high-ranking police officers.

Police documented six arrests on Tuesday night, 30 injured police officers, and about a dozen injured protesters.

Conservative political leaders rapidly condemned the violence. “We came to protest peacefully, no violent act has our backing,” Pepa Millán, a spokeswoman for Vox, said on Tuesday night.

“Violence has no place in democracy and should always be rejected,” the head of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, wrote in a statement on Wednesday.

The PP has convened another protest against the Sánchez amnesty on Sunday.
