Europhiles spared no time warning against a populist backlash after the shock resignation of Portugal’s socialist PM António Costa over a green energy scandal, which has resulted in snap elections in the Atlantic nation.

Lisbon’s political scene is still coming to terms with Costa’s departure. This comes after police raids on his official residence and the homes of multiple members of his Cabinet in connection with a corruption probe around the mining of lithium and the production of hydrogen energy. The probe suggests an extensive grift network involving public funds.

Portuguese citizens will now go to the polls in March 2024 after an election campaign that pundits predict could hand momentum to the populist Right in the form of the Chega party.

Costa’s government had previously earned heavy criticism for the so-called Sines hydrogen project located in the south of the country as well as the irresponsible mining of Lithium. This week’s allegations point to a vast network of under-the-table payments and the misuse of public funds by Portuguese officials. 

On Thursday, the spotlight turned to President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who held crisis meetings on whether to dissolve parliament and call a new election. That decision was reached Friday morning with parliament now expected to be dissolved in December and fresh elections called in March, a timeline that enables the Socialists to regroup.

Since the restoration of democracy in the 1970s, political power in Portugal has largely been shared between the centre-left Socialist Party (PS) and the centre-right Social Democratic Party (PSD).

With Costa’s resignation, many mainstream outlets now postulate that the right-wing populist Chega party could play a kingmaker role in the potential new Portuguese government, in coalition with PSD.

Founded in 2019 on a national conservative platform, Chega is regarded by many as the third largest force in Portuguese politics with twelve parliamentary seats and 14% support. Its leader, André Ventura, has been vocal on the domestic airwaves about the need for immediate elections while the party’s social media doubled down on its anti-elitist message following Costa’s resignation.

According to Rafael Pinto Borges, a spokesman with Nova Direita, an alternative conservative party to Chega, the impending elections are set to be a “very happy occasion” for the political right in Portugal and the greatest chance to puncture socialist and liberal hegemony in the country since the 1970s. 

Despite previous denouncements of Chega for extremism and promises by the establishment not to enter a coalition with them, Borges believes that there is a reasonable chance that Chega could enter government with the Social Democrats. However, he believes that his own party Nova Direita is a better fit due to the lack of political baggage.

Costa’s exit and the chaos in Portugal also changes the calculus on who shall be the successor to Charles Michel for the influential position of President of the European Council. The disgraced Portuguese premier was previously regarded as a shoo-in, especially after Dutch caretaker PM Mark Rutte ruled himself out to make a stab at running NATO.

Police in Germany are searching for two Arab-speaking males accused of raping a young mother on school grounds (photo above)in Hamburg as she sought to pick up her child on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a police statement, the attack on the 29-year-old took place shortly before 12 p.m. on Weusthoffstrasse in the Heimfeld district of the city.

The victim “was on her way to the school on Weusthoffstrasse when she was approached by two still unknown men and forced onto the school grounds. One perpetrator then violently held the woman down while the other sexually assaulted her,” it read.

Authorities released a description of two suspects given by the victim as they ramped up their investigation to locate the attackers.

The first perpetrator is between 40 and 50 years old and of Arab appearance. He is approximately 5′ 7″ tall, has grey hair, a monobrow, and a mustache. He was dressed in a dark hoodie and trousers.

The second male is also an Arab and around 20 to 30 years old. He is approximately 6 feet tall and of muscular build. He has a tattoo on his forearm and was wearing a dark sweater and trousers.

“After the 29-year-old filed a report with the police, the officers from the specialist department for sexual offenses in the State Criminal Police Office (LKA 42) have now taken over the investigation,” a police spokesman said as cited by Welt.

It is the latest incident to take place at an educational facility in the German port city and preceded the evacuation on Wednesday of a school after two young people of a migration background entered a classroom brandishing a gun.

Pupils and teachers followed protocol by barricading themselves in classrooms until police were able to safely escort them from the premises. The firearm was later confirmed to be a toy gun.

Violent crime on the streets of Hamburg has reached unprecedented levels, according to figures published by the state’s interior ministry earlier this year.

In the first half of 2023, there were 193 reported stabbings across the city, up 23.7 percent from the 156 reported in the same period of 2022.

The number of shootings also soared, up 30.9 percent from 55 to 72 from January to the end of June.

In August, five women who were returning home from Hamburg Pride celebrations were viciously attacked by five men of a “southern migration background” on a train.

Earlier this month, hundreds of masked vandals launched fireworks at police and had to be dispersed by water cannons when the Catholic festival of All Saints’ Day was disrupted by protesters chanting anti-Semitic slurs.

The group smashed windows of businesses and set garbage cans on fire, and when faced with an order to leave the area by riot police, the vandals targeted officers with pyrotechnics and bottles.

The disorder led Dirk Nockemann, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) parliamentary group leader in the Hamburg parliament, to call for a “consistent zero-tolerance strategy against rioting migrant mobs and no-go areas.”

Last month, Remix News reported how the budget committee for the city is looking to increase its funding for the reception of migrants by €212.8 million, after having already raised it by €118.7 million earlier this year. With the latest increase, the total amount of money for housing and caring for migrants in 2023 will total €1 billion.

This continues at a university that cancels the name of Kaiser Wilhelm, then the Foreign Ministry that changes the name of the Bismarck Hall, the city of Cologne that eliminates the cathedral from its logo, the State Ballet that cancels “The Nutcracker” and a school that after 600 years abandons Christmas celebrations to adopt “a sensitive approach”.

The moment you adopt political correctness you begin the journey of no return to the beach of the old whales.

Now a kindergarten in north-east Germany named after Anne Frank, the most famous victim of the Holocaust, will be renamed, again so as not to “irritate Muslims”, which seems to have become Europe’s main obsession.

For 53 years, the kindergarten in the charming town of Tangerhütte has borne the name of the Jewish girl, but the Muslim parents have launched a petition to change it. Employees also take issue with the name, saying something more “child-friendly” is needed and is “better suited to their concept.” Apparently, Anne Frank is no longer in line with the “new focus on diversity.”

The director of the kindergarten said that migrant children have difficulty understanding the Franks’ story. In fact, after Hamas having massacred so many Israeli children as never before since the Shoah, what sense would it make to keep that name? Mayor Andreas Brohm – most likely referring to the war between Israel and Hamas and the resulting pro-Palestinian Arab demonstrations across Western Europe – said that many parents’ desire to rename the nursery outweighs the global political situation. “Tangerhütte, with its educational institutions and all its civic engagement, represents an open-minded Germany,” the mayor said.

The kindergarten will be called “Explorers of the World”.

A pioneer asylum, given that within thirty years in Germany, according to the prestigious Pew Forum, there will be 17 million Muslims and Anne Frank is destined to change her surname to Akbar anyway.

At this rate we will come to say that “Jesus is the first Muslim”. After all, isn’t the head of the Muslim World League called Mohammed Al-Issa?

On Wednesday evening, a woman of Jewish faith who was walking home alone from an evening out with friends reported that she had been followed by a man. He had attacked her in her flat and threatened her with death.

An Indian Hindu family has been attacked several times by extremists since July this year but the local police refused to register a case of ‘hate crime,’ reported British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

The incident took place in the West Midlands county of England. As per the report by BBC, the victims were identified as Ramana Nagumalli, his wife Radhika Kulkarni and their 8-year-old daughter.

The Hindu family had reported 5 instances of harassment to the West Midlands police in July this year. In one incident, the couple and their minor daughter were surrounded by a mob outside a local leisure centre.

Recently, the same men came to their house and began kicking their front door. The victims were also called ‘Kafirs’, a dehumanising term used by radical Islamists to refer to non-Muslims.

Victims speak out

The situation has become so grim that the Indian Hindu family is now afraid to leave their house and step outside. While speaking about their ordeal, Radhika Kulkarni stated, “I was shivering outside, I was just crying. I wasn’t able to sleep. We didn’t do anything to anyone. Why is this hate there?”

“They just grabbed us and made a circle around us. I got scared, I held my daughter’s hand and I just ran away,” she narrated her ordeal. The victim emphasised, “We’ve gone through so much, emotionally and mentally. We wanted them to be punished, in some way.”

“We don’t want to live in fear. Everyone wants to live peacefully. We don’t want anyone to go through what we’ve been through,” she said, adding that the family has been having nightmares and panic attacks.

Police stress on community resolution, label attacks as ‘not hate crime’

Their complaint to the West Midlands police has so far failed to elicit any meaningful action. While responding to an email by the BBC, the cops said that there was no sufficient evidence to treat the crime as ‘racially aggravated offence.’

Although the police informed that the accused men confessed to harassing the couple and their 8-year-old daughter and a ‘detailed investigation’ was underway, the criminal offence was not regarded as a ‘hate crime.’

A police spokesperson told BBC, “(This included) speaking to the victims and the young people responsible for the offences at length…The parents of the young people were supportive of police action and we are satisfied that a community resolution was the correct step to take given the young age of the people involved and their history of non-offending.”

The Indian Hindu family emphasised that the police should have charged the miscreants with hate crimes so that others would not face their ordeal. According to the BBC, there has been a sharp rise in hate crimes (251% increase) from 2531 (2011-2012) to 8897 (2022-2023) in West Midlands area.

Hindu students in UK face racial discrimination, reveals think tank

A study conducted by the UK-based think tank, Henry Jackson Society, in April this year has found that Hindu students in the country are being subjected to bullying and racial discrimination in classrooms.

It was carried out by a research fellow named Charlotte Littlewood, who interviewed 988 Hindu parents and surveyed more than 1000 schools in the United Kingdom.

As per a report by The Telegraph, Littlewood noted that Hindu students were being bullied by their Muslim classmates and repeatedly asked to convert to Islam.

“51% of Hindu parents surveyed reported that their child had experienced anti-Hindu hate in schools, while less than 1% of schools surveyed reported any anti-Hindu related incidents in the last 5 years,” the study found.

“8 physical assaults were detailed. One female Hindu pupil had beef thrown on her, a male student was reported to have to change East London schools three times on account of anti-Hindu bullying and concerns have been risen around a problematic approach to teaching Hinduism that is directly leading to bullying in the classroom,” it further added.

Charlotte Littlewood noted that several Hindu students were mocked for their vegetarianism in classrooms and that their deities were belittled in a manner reminiscent of the radical Islamists that attacked the Hindu community in Leicester.

A 23-year-old Moroccan man who broke three crosses and threatened police officers was deported Thursday amid a security crackdown linked to the Gaza war, the interior ministry said Friday.
The man, Enhamel El Mehdi, was expelled by the Prefect of Alessandria on the grounds of social dangerousness.
In the last few days, the interior ministry said in a tweet, El Mehdi had been reported for offences of offending a religious denomination, by breaking three crucifixes, and resisting a public official.
Moreover, during identification at the police station, he had threatened police officers and the Christian population, claiming that he wanted to avenge the deaths in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Anti-Israel shouts and radical Islamic banners at demonstrations are preoccupying German society. Young people seem to be particularly affected. The spokesperson for the children’s and youth organisation “Arche” also warns against this.

Wolfgang Büscher is concerned. The 65-year-old is the spokesperson for the “Arche” children’s and youth organisation, which looks after around 7,000 children and young people every day at 33 facilities across Germany – many of whom have a migrant background. At work, Büscher has been experiencing an increasing radicalisation of young people for some time, he tells the newspaper “Bild”.

According to the newspaper, young people are increasingly openly welcoming and celebrating Hamas’ terror against Israel. This is made clear by the statement from Arab youths quoted by Büscher: “First we cut the throats of the Jews, then the gays and finally the Christians!”

This statement is not an isolated case, the Arche spokesperson told Bild. “Children and young people are becoming increasingly radicalised. I’ve never seen anything like it. We are facing a catastrophe.”

After the Hamas attack on Israel, Büscher reports that he wore an Israel badge. He was openly criticised for this. “A 12-year-old boy came up to me and said: ‘I hate you. We’re taking the country back’, smiling in my face.”

Western values are rejected by many young people. Büscher sees no chance of improvement for many – though not all – of those affected. “With the very young, talking can still work. With older young people, it no longer works. They reject our culture, our values. The hatred is unimaginable.”

As Muslims savage Israel, hoping to destroy it, there should be concerns among Christians and Jews about their histories in the Holy Land if these seventh-century throwbacks win. 

Muslims are the bulls in the china shop of history. 

The same uncivilization that brought sacralized lying, taqiyya, also brings lying about the past by destroying it, Jahiliyyah. 

Jahiliyyah … is an Arabic term that refers to the period of time and state of affairs in Pre-Islamic Arabia before the advent of Islam in 609 CE. It usually refers to the Age of Ignorance. 

Jāhiliyyah, in Islam … indicates a negative Muslim evaluation of pre-Islamic life and culture in Arabia as compared to the teachings and practices of Islam.  

The destruction of historical artifacts is an attempt to enforce the teachings of Islam.  Jahiliyyah is used to rationalize the destruction of artifacts as symbols of idolatry or cultural practices considered incompatible with Islam. 

It is intended to erase the past and has metastasized outside Arabia.

The most notable example of such destruction and metastasizing is the demolition of the ancient Buddha statues in the Bamiyan Valley, Afghanistan, by the Taliban in 2001.  Their destruction was justified based on the Taliban’s interpretation of Islamic teachings. 

Damage by Muslims is never a one-off. 

There have been many other cases where historical artifacts and cultural sites have been targeted. Some examples: 

1. Destruction of ancient artifacts in Timbuktu, 2012: Armed Muslims targeted ancient manuscripts and artifacts in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, leading to their destruction, because they were considered contrary to Islamic beliefs. 

2. Demolition of historical monuments in Palmyra, 2015: Islamic State militants demolished several ancient structures in an attempt to eradicate what they viewed as symbols of polytheism and idolatry.

3. Vandalism of ancient sites in Iraq: Islamic groups targeted historical sites and artifacts, causing irreparable damage.  These acts of destruction were carried out based on Muslims’ opposition to cultural practices deemed incompatible with Islamic beliefs. 

And what would a Muslim war party be without inviting Christians?  As an example, in 2016, ISIS bombed a Coptic Orthodox church in Cairo, killing 28 people and injuring dozens more. 

The so-called Palestinians (SCPs), in their ongoing efforts to kludge a history, have to destroy evidence of the multi-millennia presence of Jews in the Holy Land.  One source documenting these actions toward historical revision is the “National Heritage Survey” published by the Shilo Forum and the Shomrim HaNetzach: 

Simply put, hundreds of cherished Jewish sites in the Land of Israel which survived 2,000 years of Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Crusader, Mameluke and Ottoman occupation are being systematically destroyed … by the Palestinians [sic][.] … 

These include sites dating back to biblical times, as well as those from the Second Temple, Herodian and Hasmonean periods. 

Consider the following examples: 

Outside of Jericho … is the second largest ancient Jewish burial ground in all of Israel. Dating back to the Second Temple period, it is spread out over an enormous area adjacent to a Hasmonean palace and contains a vast complex of dozens of burial caves which were used for two centuries and where an estimated 100,000 Jews were buried[.] … 

[G]rave robbers and other hoodlums have been damaging and demolishing the burial grounds, leaving the graves of our ancestors desecrated and their bones scattered about[.] … 

Another major site under Palestinian (sic) assault is Tel Aroma in Samaria, where a spectacular Hasmonean palace stood, one of eight that was established by the dynasty to defend Israel’s eastern boundary[.] … 

[T]he Palestinian [sic] Authority seized control over Tel Aroma and brought in heavy engineering equipment to pave a road over parts of the ruins, thereby causing inestimable damage. Adding insult to injury, they then had the gall to hold a formal ceremony and declare the palace, which was built by the descendants of the Maccabees, to be a “Palestinian [sic] Heritage Site.” … 

“The Palestinian [sic] Authority not only doesn’t preserve and protect heritage sites, but it is responsible for some 90% of the attacks on them,” says the report. 

This is nothing less than a concerted campaign by the Palestinian [sic] Authority, our ostensible “peace partners,” to systematically destroy tangible evidence of the Jewish connection to the Land of Israel. 

It is an assault on history and on the truth and it must be stopped. 

And the phenomenon described in the report is just the tip of the iceberg. After all, the survey examined a representative sample of just 365 out of the more than 10,000 Jewish historical and archaeological sites that have been found thus far throughout Judea and Samaria, ranging from ancient synagogues to Jewish cemeteries to palaces erected by the kings of Israel. 

The above is a much-abbreviated list.  There is considerably more, including SCPs’ arson and vandalism of Joseph’s Tomb last year. 

While Jordan had control of East Jerusalem, 1948–1967, religiously important sites were destroyed, defiled, or diminished.

Jewish sites: 

• The Jewish Quarter of the Old City was destroyed following the 1948 war. Ancient synagogues and over 50 yeshivas were demolished or repurposed, some dating back centuries.  
• The Western Wall became a slum area with poor sewage drainage… 
• The ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives was desecrated with tens of thousands of tombstones broken into pieces or used for paving roads and building latrines.  

Christian sites:  

• Strict limits were placed on entry and worship in Christian holy sites. 
• Jordan’s Christian Affairs Department attempted to take control of Christian institutions, interfering in church administration and schools.  
• Christian charities and hospitals were required to have a Muslim on their board of directors.  Christian schools were forced to teach the Quran. 
• Christian cemeteries were largely maintained better than Jewish ones, but some damage and vandalism to graves were reported. 

Even if Muslims are not breaking stuff, including administrative interference with functioning, they are preventing non-Muslims from visiting their holy sites. 

During the period of Jordanian control of East Jerusalem and the Old City from 1948 to 1967, access to holy sites for Jews and Christians was severely restricted: 

• Jews were barred from visiting the Western Wall and other Jewish holy sites in the Old City.  Synagogues in the Jewish Quarter were destroyed. 
• Access to Christian holy sites was permitted only to denominations recognized by Jordan. 
• Under the Jordan-Israel armistice agreement, Israeli Christians and Muslims were supposed to have visitation rights to religious sites in Jerusalem.  Jordan rarely honored this. 
• Jordan prohibited Jewish Israelis entirely from visiting holy sites, violating the armistice terms.  Israeli Arabs could visit the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa if they carried special permits. 

The Israeli victory in 1967 allowed full access to holy sites for Jews, Christians, and Muslims.  Israel declared freedom of worship and made Jerusalem’s holy sites open to all religions. 

There is no evidence of Muslim or Christian holy sites being systematically destroyed or defiled after Israel gained control of East Jerusalem.  Israel has maintained access to holy sites for all religions.

The future of the past is at grave risk.  Muslims, besides being uncaring, ignorant, and deceptive about the past, are triumphalist destroyers of it.  Jews and Christians (primarily) cannot allow the beast of Islam to prevail in its race to mayhem, or their pasts will have no future.

Three out of four Syrian criminals who were issued with deportation orders following the end of their custodial sentences in Sweden remain living in the country, with many receiving new residence permits, a report by the Swedish broadcaster SVT has revealed.

Despite pledges by the center-right government in Stockholm to ramp up the deportation of foreign criminals, those originating from Syria appear to be gaming the system to remain in the Scandinavian country.

A total of 73 Syrian nationals who are subject to deportation orders were released from Swedish prisons upon the conclusion of their custodial sentences by September 2023, yet 52 of these individuals remain in the country.

The Swedish newspaper reported that “several of these have committed new serious crimes even though they are not supposed to be in the country and four out of ten have received new residence permits.”

Public prosecutor Liselott Herschend said that orders to leave the country risk “becoming a verdict on paper.”

Sweden adopted one of the most liberal asylum policies in Europe a decade ago when it vowed to offer permanent residence to Syrian nationals fleeing the country’s civil war. This policy continued following the emergence of terrorist militia groups such as Islamic State.

Last year, a Swedish court upheld the conclusion of the country’s migration agency that large swathes of Syria, including the capital Damascus, are now considered “safe” territories for the purpose of deportation orders.

Several instances of Syrian criminals avoiding deportation orders altogether following heinous offenses have caused outrage among the Swedish population in recent years.

In October 2020, three Syrian nationals who beat and abused a gay couple holding hands at Gothenburg Central Station were convicted but not ordered to be removed from the country after serving their sentences.

That same month, a Syrian man managed to avoid deportation and jail time after being convicted by a Swedish court of raping a 12-year-old girl inside a public toilet in the city of Borås.

The electoral victory of the center-right last year, propped up by the right-wing populist Sweden Democrats, signaled a change in approach, which, based on the figures above, has so far failed to materialize.

The European Parliament stripped four Polish MEPs of their immunity, allowing them to face criminal charges for retweeting their party’s 2018 local elections post.

The MEPs, from Poland’s conservative PiS, each shared their party’s post criticising EU migration policies. They now face criminal charges of incitement to racial hatred, carrying a maximum penalty of three years in prison.

The parliament took the decision on 9 November despite advice from its own Legal Affairs Committee the application against the four was politically motivated.

The advice came from MEP Gilles Lebreton, the committee’s rapporteur, who is responsible for giving advice on such applications.

Left-wing Polish activist Rafal Gawel accused the four of “committing racist crimes in Poland”.

Warsaw district court judge Edyta Snastin-Jurkun then submitted a request to the European Parliament to waive the four MEPs’ immunities, saying the case should come to trial.

The prosecutor’s office previously twice dismissed Gawel’s original claim as unfounded.

Gawel’s Centre for Monitoring Racist and Xenophobic Behavior (OMZRiK) then applied directly to the district court in November 2021.

Gawel also has personal experience of the courts. He was convicted of embezzlement in Poland in 2019, and obtained asylum afterwards in Norway, claiming he was the victim of a politicised justice system.

The district court’s indictment names twelve PiS politicians, including the four current MEPs. It says they violated article 256 of Poland’s criminal code, which punishes inciting hatred on the basis of national, ethnic, racial or religious differences with up to three years in prison.

The four MEPs, Beata Kempa, Beata Mazurek, Patryk Jaki, and Tomasz Poreba, are each prominent members of Poland’s PiS.

Jaki is a former deputy justice minister, Kempa served as the prime minister’s chief of staff and a minister without portfolio, Mazurek was the PiS’s spokeswoman, and Poręba served as the party’s election campaign manager in 2019 and 2023.

If they are found guilty, in addition to a possible prison sentence they could face being barred from standing in future elections.

The campaign video in question alleged that an influx of illegal immigrants to Europe could cause an increase in sexual assaults and violent attacks.

A government formed by Donald Tusk’s Civic Coalition, then the largest opposition grouping, would cause an influx of migrants and “enclaves of Muslim refugees”, making residents “afraid to go out on the streets after dark”, it said.

“For the first time in the history of the European Parliament, MEPs lost their immunity for liking something on Facebook,” says Kempa.

Jaki says the European Parliament is trying to create a “communist European state” where anyone can be “jailed for clicking on the internet”
