A man opened fire. Two people were reportedly killed and several injured. The man allegedly shouted “Allahu akbar” and fired in all directions from his scooter with a Kalashnikov-type war weapon.
He was wearing a fluorescent orange waistcoat. According to our information, both victims are Swedish citizens and were wearing a jersey of the Swedish national team, although the Belgium-Sweden match is taking place tonight. The perpetrator fled on a scooter. In a video shot on camera, which he distributed on the networks, the perpetrator professed his affiliation to the Islamic State and boasted of having killed infidels. In his very violent speech, he said he had shot two people to “avenge Muslims and that you live and die for your religion”.

France: He shouts in the street that he is a member of Hamas, that he wants to rape women and children and that he intends to kill “everybody”
On Thursday October 12, 2023, at around 10 am, a man was arrested in a street in the first arrondissement of Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône). The police were called to the crime scene because the man was suspected of making threatening remarks and shouting. These facts were reported by Valeurs Actuelles on X (formerly Twitter) and confirmed by a police source to Actu Marseille.
In particular, the suspect is said to have shouted that he belonged to Hamas, that he wanted to “rape” women and children and that he wanted to kill “everyone”, our colleagues report at length. After his arrest, he was taken into police custody. The decision to extend his detention was made the next day, Friday morning, according to the Marseille prosecutor’s office reported by Actu. The latter also confirmed to the news site that an investigation had been launched.
The man’s arrest came after the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas, which he allegedly referred to in his threats.
Israel said it was preparing a ground attack on Hamas after the terrorist organisation’s attack from Saturday October 7 killed more than 1400 people in the country and more than 2700 people in Gaza.
In Marseille, a banned pro-Palestinian demonstration took place at the Old Port on Tuesday and the police imposed fines, Actu points out.
Did PiS or Civic Platform win Poland’s election? The answer is not a simple one. Don’t expect Tusk to be PM any time soon
On October 15 2023 Poland held its general elections. As of now, we are analysing exit polls and preliminary ballot counts. The final results will be released on October 17 2023. It’s crucial to understand that the exceptionally high and unexpected voter turnout may influence the initial polling outcomes, suggesting the potential for alterations once the complete tally is in.
Exit poll data from Ipsos reveals the following breakdown:
PiS (Law and Justice): 36.8 per cent translating to 200 seats
KO (Civic Coalition): 31.6 per cent or 163 seats
Trzecia Droga (Third Way, combining PSL and Poland 2050): 13 per cent, amounting to 55 seats
Lewica (The Left): 8.6 per cent, securing 30 seats
Konfederacja (Confederation): 6.2 per cent, acquiring 12 seats
The voter turnout stood at a record 72.9 per cent. This attendance rate surpasses any previously recorded in modern Poland’s electoral history, even besting the 62.7 per cent of 1989. The robust participation underscores a heightened political engagement amongst Poles, a significant contrast to the disengagement observed in several other Western democracies.
A closer look at the exit polls shows that PiS and Civic Coalition’s performance aligns with pollster predictions, with the average polling mirroring the reported percentages.
Interestingly, PiS has replicated its 2015 performance, though it lags behind its 2019 showing of 43.6 per cent. Despite this, the party lacks the numbers to independently form a government, and the lacklustre performance by the ultra-nationalist and ultra-liberal Confederation rules out a potential coalition.
The next steps involve President Andrzej Duda, who, in line with Poland’s post-Communist political protocol, will designate an MP from the majority party for government formation.
While Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki retains his position, he has a fortnight post the month-long transitional period to rally a minimum of 230 MPs to support his leadership — a daunting task given the current numbers. Though seemingly far-fetched, there’s a slight possibility of roping in MPs from the Confederation or Third Way for coalition support.
In the event Morawiecki can’t forge a government, an adversary of PiS will most probably assume the Prime Ministerial role. However, this new administration might grapple with instability, given the contrasting ideologies of the opposition factions. Moreover, the Presidential power to veto Sejm-passed bills can only be countered with a 60 per cent majority vote.
To conclude, we have to await the final count, which will shed light on the exact number of MPs Morawiecki must secure for a stable tenure. If PiS and the Confederation can secure an additional 20 MPs, the prospects for PiS remain viable. Moreover, the current opposition also faces challenges in forming a government.
Sweden: 16-year-old boy arrested for gang-related triple murder after being caught with automatic firearm in getaway taxi
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in Sweden on suspicion of committing three murders and two attempted murders in separate gang-related incidents within a 24-hour period.
The teenager was detained by authorities after fleeing the scene of a double murder at a home in Tullinge, south of Stockholm, on Friday evening in which two women, aged 20 and 60, were shot dead.
He is also believed to have been responsible for the fatal shooting of a young father and the wounding of his wife and young child at another private residence in Telefonplan, southern Stockholm, on Thursday.
The boy was caught traveling in a taxi away from the scene on Friday and was found in possession of an automatic firearm, as well as an extra magazine of ammunition. The taxi driver was also arrested but was later released.
“I cannot comment more than that he was arrested after the deed in Tullinge and then suspicions were raised about both events,” said District Attorney Mats Ihlbom who also revealed that he had never witnessed the arrest of someone so young in connection with a triple murder.
“It is unusual even for us and of course also stressful for us,” he added.
According to Swedish broadcaster SVT, the double murder in Tullinge was “directed at a relative of a person who is connected to the ongoing gang conflict within the Foxtrot network.” The notorious Swedish underworld is currently engaged in a power struggle that has resulted in the number of gang-related shootings skyrocketing across the country.
The broadcaster also reported that the 16-year-old boy arrested for the murders is believed to have run away from an HVB home, a residential care home typically used to house and educate unaccompanied migrant minors.
The ethnicity of the suspect has not been disclosed by the Swedish authorities; however, he is believed to have been involved in gang-related activity for some time and has been the subject of approximately 20 criminal charges.
Many of these charges relate to crimes committed before he had reached the age of responsibility, currently 15 in Sweden, meaning he could not be convicted. They pertain to various crimes including robbery, assault, and illegal threats and abuse.
Earlier this year, the teenager was sentenced for minor drug offenses.
Von der Leyen, Under Fire for ‘Pro-Israel Bias,’ Triples Gaza Aid
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has been receiving heavy criticism after her trip to Israel last week where she supposedly sided with Tel-Aviv by failing to reprimand the country for ignoring international humanitarian norms. The EU chief then tried to correct her mistake by pledging to triple Brussels’ aid to Gaza two days later.
After arriving at Kfar Aza kibbutz, one of the worst-hit Israeli settlements during Hamas’ bloody rampage, all von der Leyen did was express the EU’s heartfelt solidarity with the terror victims. Apparently, that was enough to trigger leftists all around Europe.
“She simply said Israel has the right to defend itself, full stop,” an unnamed EU diplomat told Politico. “That is not the line member states agreed.”
As we also reported, EU member states presented their joint position on the conflict after an extraordinary Council meeting last Tuesday, condemning the terror acts and calling for general restraint on both sides, but also urging Israel to respect international humanitarian in terms of its treatment of civilians. The Council also decided to keep funding Palestine and endorsed the two-state solution for the crisis.
Instead of repeating these warnings toward the Israeli officials, von der Leyen—standing next to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and EP President Roberta Metsola—simply said “I know that how Israel responds will show that it is a democracy.”
According to Iratxe García, the leader of the European Parliament’s socialist group (S&D), von der Leyen’s phrasing amounts to an “unacceptable bias” on her part.
“As chief representatives of the EU and its institutions, [von der Leyen and Metsola] had the duty to represent the position of the Union as a whole including its member states,” García wrote in a statement on behalf of her party. “With their visit to Israel they failed, upholding an unacceptable bias that can only cause harm.”
As expected, members of France’s liberal Renew party also shared the socialists’ opinion. “Von der Leyen [is] forgetting an important message: Israel must respect international humanitarian law,” wrote MEP Nathalie Loiseau, Renew’s co-chair of the EP’s security and defense committee.
“I don’t understand what the President of the European Commission has to do with the foreign policy of the EU, which she is not in charge of,” Loiseau added, although no one has a problem with von der Leyen taking on a leading role in foreign policy as long as her position is the same as the Left’s.
‘Mea culpa’ times 75 million
On Sunday, the Commission chief attempted to undo the damage by announcing that the EU would triple its humanitarian aid to Gaza without delay.
“The Commission will immediately increase the current humanitarian aid envelope foreseen for Gaza by 50 million euros. This will bring the total to over 75 million euros,” von der Leyen said after speaking with UN Secretary-General António Guterres to coordinate the disbursement of funds.
“The Commission supports Israel’s right to defend itself against the Hamas terrorists, in full respect of international humanitarian law,” she added as the bottom line, now complete with the necessary formula to please the left. “We are working hard to ensure that innocent civilians in Gaza are provided support in this context.”
Proper EU response and responsibility will undoubtedly be the focus of the second emergency Council meeting on the Israel-Palestine conflict on Tuesday, as well as of the plenary debate in the European Parliament on Wednesday, where all parties and MEPs will have a chance to show off their biases.
So far, Israel has all the surface solidarity of the EU it could ever want, but when it comes to action, the scales undoubtedly tilt toward supporting Palestine and condemning the Israeli airstrikes.
British cartoonist sacked for ‘antisemitic’ Netanyahu cartoon
Steve Bell, a cartoonist for the British Guardian newspaper, was fired after 40 years of employment due to a cartoon he published that was perceived as antisemitic.
In the painting, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is seen dissecting himself with a map of the Strip drawn on his stomach. The cartoon features a quote from Netanyahu: “Residents of Gaza, get out now”.
The caricature was seen as anti-Semitic by readers who claimed that the drawing reminds them of Shakespeare’s Shylock, who demands a pound of flesh instead of interest if a Gentile defaults on a loan.
Bell said that the decision “shocked him”, and added that the newspaper informed him that they would continue to pay him until the end of the contract in April 2024, but that he would stop publishing the cartoons immediately.
Bell rejected the claims that he took inspiration from the play and said that he was referring to a similar cartoon from the 1960s in which the US president at the time, Lyndon Johnson, was shown with a scar on his body from the Vietnam War.
“The cartoon is specifically about Benjamin Netanyahu’s disastrous policy failure which has led directly to the hideous recent atrocities around Gaza, and about his proposed response that he had announced, using his actual words addressing the citizens of Gaza,” Bell said. “The Guardian has every right not to publish my cartoon if it so chooses, but it should not do so using entirely contrived and false reasons. All that does is inhibit discussion of a dreadful but important subject.”
The Guardian declined to comment on the reasons behind not publishing the cartoon.

French School Evacuated Again: Bomb Threat Days After Fatal ‘Day of Jihad’ Knife Attack
The French high school which saw a suspected Islamist terror attack last week was evacuated again Monday morning over a possible bomb threat.
The Gambetta High School in Arras, northern France was not due to have any classes taught on Monday but was open to the public as part of a national day of mourning for two teachers killed in terror attacks in the country, with a minute of silence observed in all schools across France today. Yet the institution was evacuated on Monday morning after a bomb threat was received by internet message, France’s Le Figaro reports.
The bomb squad was deployed and the school reopened to the public in the early afternoon.
Tributes are being given today as planned to Samuel Paty, the French school teacher who was murdered by a radical Islamist on this day three years ago. His day of remembrance took on heightened importance after another teacher was killed last week on Friday, again — it is suspected — by a radicalised Muslim. Three others were also injured.
Paty was beheaded outside his own school in a Paris suburb by a teenage Chechen Muslim refugee, the culmination of a campaign against the teacher because she showed his pupils a cartoon of the prophet Muhammad while teaching a class on tolerance and freedom.
While the motive for the killing of Dominique Bernard, who was slain with a knife last week and was also allegedly attacked in the neck by a Chechen Muslim refugee, is not yet conclusively proven, French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne said today in her tribute to the slain teachers: “three years ago, Islamist terrorism struck savagely… three years later the barbarity and [counter-enlightenment] have struck again… barbarism will never prevail in the face of knowledge, the Republic will never bend in the face of terrorism”.
The Turks turned a church in occupied Cyprus into a boxing school – See the photos
Even nearly half a century after the invasion, Turkish authorities continue Turkifying occupied Cyprus by erasing every trace of Greek and Christian memory. The latest act of cultural genocide was the conversion of the Agia Anna Church in occupied Kythrea into a boxing school.
After the invasion, the church had been converted into a mosque, but when a new mosque was built across the street, it was restored with money from Greek Cypriot refugees and the church, which was cleaned and painted, was re-installed with an iconostasis.
In fact, on December 9, the feast of Saint Anna, a liturgy was also held.
However, some time ago, with the permission of the occupying regime, the iconostasis was removed, and the space became a boxing school gym. Before rings and punching bags were installed, there was an intention for it to become a dance school.
The occupying regime gave the license to operate the church as a boxing school to three Turkish settlers living in Kythrea.
The Republic of Cyprus protested to the UN mission in Cyprus, but there is no apparent intention to change the decision of the occupying authorities.

‘Butchered, limbs mutilated, raped’: Israeli forensic teams reveal atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists
On 14th October (Saturday), Israeli officials stated that Military forensic teams in Israel have examined the bodies of victims of last week’s Hamas terror attack on communities around the Gaza Strip. During the forensic analysis, they found multiple signs of torture, rape, and other atrocities, Reuters reported on 15th October (Sunday).
As per media reports, around 1,300 bodies were brought to an army base in Ramla in central Israel. At the army base, forensic analysis was carried out by specialist teams to determine the identity of the deceased victims and the circumstances of their deaths.
Rabbi Israel Weiss, former army chief rabbi is one of the officials who are overseeing the identification of the dead. He said around 90% of the military dead have been identified and teams are halfway through identifying civilians. He added that many bodies showed signs of torture as well as rape.
Speaking to reporters, a reserve warrant officer identified only by her first name of Avigayil said, “We’ve seen dismembered bodies with their arms and feet chopped off, people that were beheaded, a child that was beheaded.”
She noted that multiple cases of rape were found by forensic examination of the bodies. These bodies have been stored in refrigerated containers.
A military dentist, identified as Captain Maayan said, “We do the identification with all the means that we have. We see them in severe stages of abuse. We see gunshots and we see signs that are purely torture.”
However, the Reuters report added that they didn’t get to see forensic evidence in the form of pictures or medical records.
It is pertinent to note that the Israeli government including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has compared Hamas to Islamic State – the terrorist group which gained worldwide notoriety for public beheadings in countries like Syria and Iraq.
Meanwhile, the Israel-Hamas war has entered its ninth day with Israeli constantly pounding the terror infrastructure of Hamas for the 7th October terrorist attacks and ground invasion killing more than 1,300 Israeli citizens and over 3,300 severely injured.
On 14th October, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it was completing preparations for “significant ground operations” in the Gaza Strip. According to IDF, they are preparing to “expand the offensive” by putting in place a “wide range of offensive operational plans” that would include “joint and coordinated attack from the air, sea and land,” reported Times of Israel.
IDF International Spokesperson Lt Col Richard Hecht issued a video statement urging civilians in the Northern Gaza Strip to evacuate immediately and go southwards. He emphasised that the objective of IDF is to protect the people of Israel from the ongoing attacks of the terrorist organisation Hamas, which had initiated the war with a brutal massacre.
Israel Hamas war
On 7th October, hundreds of Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israel through various means, overwhelming the Iron Dome with 5,000 rockets in a matter of few minutes. They also abducted hostages and took them to Gaza. In a counterattack on Hamas by Israeli forces, more than 1,500 Hamas terrorists have been reportedly killed in the Israel-Hamas war.
Under the Operation Swords of Iron, Israel launched a major offensive against Hamas in Gaza, restricting power and water supply and blocking essential goods from entering the region. Over 400,000 Gaza residents have been evacuated so far. Meanwhile, India has launched Operation Ajay to evacuate Indians from Israel. Two batches of Indians have already been rescued, with over 200 people in each back.
