Is this the end of the myth of a stable Germany?

screen grab youtube

German politicians have become accustomed to the convenient role of judges deciding which political parties and their programs in various countries are sufficiently European and deserving of acceptance in accordance with the prevailing canons of liberal Western democracy, and which should be condemned and separated by a “firewall.”

This severity and principality always clearly increase among German political and media commentators, especially when it comes to forming opinions about politics in Central and Eastern European countries.

There are exceptions, such as Wolfgang Schauble, a veteran of German politics, who tirelessly reminds us that Germany should not teach anyone in Europe how democracy should work. However, his voice has been relegated to the sidelines.

There are many indications that in the near future, German media and politicians will have to pay more attention to the situation on their own political scene.

This is all due to the increasingly popular right-wing party Alternative for Germany (AfD). This party, founded in 2013, was initially quite an exotic undertaking of a group of economists and university professors opposed to Angela Merkel’s then policy towards the crisis in the eurozone.

After a decade of isolation on the political scene, due to the effects of the migration crisis, Berlin’s restrictive policy in combating the pandemic, inflation, and the social and economic costs of stringent climate policy, currently one in five voters declares readiness to support AfD. In the eastern lands of Germany, it can even count on 30 percent of the votes.

During the party congress in Magdeburg, alongside slogans calling for freedom and sovereignty, the demand for peace was equally strong. The AfD particularly attracts those who traditionally harbor resentment towards America, still see Russia as Germany’s strategic partner, and blame the West’s policies for the war in Ukraine.

The attractiveness of this party and its growing support can generally be explained by the fact that it openly and loudly expresses what many ordinary Germans believe today, something that traditional political parties, imprisoned in the circle of political correctness, do not want to admit.

The current climate in Germany has triggered a self-propelling mechanism in which the simple rejection of alternative citizens’ views pushes politics toward greater polarization and a growing loss of stability.

Job centre extras for Muslim benefit recipients in Germany: arbitrary postponement of appointments “for religious reasons”

The German welfare state seems to want to accelerate its already inevitable collapse. The incessant mass migration is gobbling up billions and billions for citizen’s benefits and other services for which nothing is charged in return. Now the Federal Employment Agency (BA) has also introduced a new directive that allows citizens’ benefits recipients to postpone appointments at the Job Centre if they “credibly” claim to be “prevented from attending a scheduled appointment for religious reasons”.

This includes, for example, “religious holidays that impose/prescribe certain behaviours on religious members” that could prevent them from attending the Job Centre. A BA spokeswoman explained: “This takes appropriate account of the constitutionally guaranteed freedom to practise one’s religion within the framework of the citizen’s benefits.” As usual, they also present their self-sacrifice as an achievement. The new regulation goes back to a woman’s complaint, which was apparently immediately complied with.

The job centres, which are already swamped with work, are now also supposed to carry out case-by-case checks on whether the religious reasons given are plausible, because religions celebrate “different holidays”. It goes without saying that this regulation is hardly about Christians who want to attend Sunday services and who are unlikely to be summoned to the job centre on Christmas or Easter holidays. It is nothing more than another privileging concession for Muslims. Therefore, even if Muslims do not want to attend an appointment because of the fasting month of Ramadan, they should be examined.

How this examination will turn out is anyone’s guess. The completely demoralised Job Centre employees will hardly evoke the always latent anger of their mostly Islamic clientele, especially since they have no means of sanction anyway and are also threatened with the accusation of “anti-Muslim racism”, which legions of Islamic and left-wing lobbyists always have at the ready. It is true that the Friday prayer of Muslims cannot be cited as an obstacle in principle, because the day is “not comparable with the Sunday regulation in Germany, since then “all shops and authorities in Germany would be closed for legal reasons”, but here too they will simply turn a blind eye. This kowtowing by the authorities to the particular interests of an increasingly demanding and dominant section of the population is also just another footnote in the German capitulation to the society-transforming Islamic mass immigration.

Demographic Decline: Birth-to-Death Ratio Hits Lowest Level Since Second World War in France

National Cancer Institute, CC-PD-Mark

The French birth rate has declined to such an extent that the birth-to-death ratio is now nearly equal, the lowest level seen since the Second World War.

The demographic colapse in the West has continued to grow France, with figures published by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) showing that in the first six months of the year, there were 24,000 fewer babies born compared to the same time period last year. In the first half of the year, 314,400 babies were born, compared to 338,000 in the first half of 2022, representing a seven per cent decline.

Perhaps most striking, the number of people who died during the same time period stood at 313,000, which nearly equals the number of births. A report from the French newspaper Le Monde noted that the birth-to-death ratio is now the lowest since World War II in the country.

According to Hervé Le Bras, a demographer and study director at the Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS), the fertility rate has been steadily declining since 2012. Le Bras told the paper that over the past decade, the average number of children born to mothers in France has fallen from 2.1 to 1.8 children in 2022.

He went on to warn that if the seven per cent decline witnessed in the first half of this year is continued to the end of 2023, the fertility rate could drop to 1.68 children per woman, the lowest since the mid-1990s.

Gilles Pison, a demographer at the National Institute of Demographic Studies (INED), laid the blame for the declining demographics mostly on women delaying having children and at the same time having fewer children, overall.

“For several years, women have been entering maternity later,” he said, noting that the average age of a mother having her first child has increased from 24  in 1974 to 31 years old in 2022.

Pison went on to note while in previous years the sharp decline in women having children in their 20s was “compensated” by them having children in their 30s, yet he said that “this is no longer the case”.

“Women no longer only have their children later, they have less,” he stated.

This phenomenon has also been seen in the UK, with the majority of women remaining childless past their 30th birthday for the first time in recorded history in 2021.

French MEP Patricia Chagnon-Clevers blamed the declining birth rate on the political leadership in Paris, writing on social media: “The birth rate is falling because young couples lack confidence in the future. Today, with Macron, whole sections of society are collapsing.”

The National Rally (RN) politician said that such trends could be reversed should populist leader Marine Le Pen ascend to the Élysée Palace, at which point France could “regain control and release the energy and genius of our beautiful country!”

Two French police injured in clashes with migrants as numbers crossing Channel tops 15,000

Two French police officers have been injured in clashes with migrants, as the number crossing the English Channel passed 15,000 for the year so far.

The trouble erupted around Sangatte, near Calais, as officers tried to stop a group of people smugglers and migrants launch a small boat from the local beach.

Around 60 migrants threw rocks and other missiles at the police, injuring two of them.

Reinforcements were called from the French police public order unit, the CRS.

They managed to stop and puncture the boat.

The injured officers were treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The unsuccessful launch near Sangatte was one of multiple attempts to cross the English Channel yesterday, after an improvement in weather conditions.

262 people crossed illegally in 5 small boats on Friday afternoon into Friday evening.

The crossings were the first since 147 made the journey 10 days earlier.

Another two small boats crossed early this morning, before weather conditions deteriorated again, as Storm Antoni moves in.

GB News can reveal that 15,100 migrants have crossed the English Channel illegally since the start of the year.

That number is down more than 2,500 on the same period last year.

But maritime experts have told GB News that unusually extreme and unpredictable weather conditions have made conditions in the Channel impassable for much of the last few months.

This time last year, the UK was enjoying a summer heatwave and flat calm conditions in the Channel.

After around 100 migrants crossed on Saturday morning, the weather is expected to remain largely impassable in the Channel for much of next week.

Those who arrived early this morning were filmed by GB News as they were taken to the Border Force migrant processing center at Dover harbour.

The Border Force vessel Hurricane arrived at the harbour with the first boat load of migrants around 1:30am.

The Dover lifeboat took the second group into the Kent port just after 8am.

GB News Kent producer said weather conditions at the time were more than 15 knots, with moderate swells in the middle of the Channel.

The roughly 50 people on the boat picked up by the RNLI included a small number of children.

India: Hijab row reaches Tripura, Muslim student vandalises headmaster’s office in ‘protest’ against school uniform, gets thrashed

The debate over the wearing of hijab by female Muslim students, in complete disregard for existing school uniform rules, has now reached the northeastern State of Tripura.

A controversy broke out at the government-run Koroimura Higher Secondary School in the Sepahijala district of Tripura recently after the female Muslim students flouted school norms and attended classes in hijab.

On Thursday (August 3), a group of Hindu boys wore saffron-coloured kurta to the school in protest. The headmaster of the Koroimura Higher Secondary School, Priyatosh Nandi, intervened in the matter and urged all students to wear school uniforms irrespective of religion.

He told the media, “After a meeting with teachers, I recently directed all students to attend school wearing proper uniform. However, girl students from the minority community said they cannot follow this directive as wearing hijab is a religious belief.”

When Nandi told the Hindu students to refrain from wearing saffron-coloured kurta in school, they emphasised that rules must apply uniformly to everyone. “…These students asserted they will wear school uniform provided all the students come to the institute in proper school uniform,” he informed.

In the meantime, a 10th Std Muslim student, studying at Higher Secondary School, vandalised the room of the headmaster in ‘protest’ along with his other accomplice.

When he stepped out of the school, he was thrashed by a group of people. The accused, who is said to be a resident of Prabhurampur, was admitted to a nearby health centre. The development was confirmed by Jyotishman Das, the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police (Law & Order).

The situation in the area is said to be under control. The Sepahijala police have dismissed claims of communal attack on the Muslim student and warned against rumour-mongering on social media.

“A specific case in this regard has been registered and an investigation is in progress. It is clarified that the incident is in no way related to any religious issue,” it said in a statement.

Hijab row in Karnataka

In February 2022, some Muslim students from a PU College in Udupi filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court to allow them to attend classes wearing a Hijab. They were denied entry into classes after the college management made it clear that the hijab was not part of the uniform.

Following that, the ‘students’ launched protests while being dressed in burqas. They had started wearing hijab and burqa to their school, college in defiance of the uniform rules since December 2021 after coming in touch with the radical outfit, Campus Front of India (CFI).

On March 15, 2022, the Karnataka High Court held that the Hijab is not an essential practice in Islam and that uniform is a reasonable restriction on the Right to Religion.
