Will the European Union Devolve into a Group of Third-World Countries?

By Guy K. Mitchell, Jr.

On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, Huw Pill, the Bank of England’s chief economist, warned U.K. citizens that they need to accept that they are poorer and stop pushing for higher wages.  “Yes, we’re all worse off,” he said, saying that seeking to offset rising prices with higher wages would only fuel more inflation.  “So somehow in the U.K., someone needs to accept that they’re worse off and stop trying to maintain their real spending power by bidding up prices, whether higher wages or passing energy costs through on to customers, et cetera.”  This was a somber assessment of the state of the U.K. economy and, arguably, of the European Union (E.U.) economy, too.

For 30 years, the E.U. bought cheap natural gas from an adversary, Russia, to fuel its nations’ economies.  The cheap gas allowed them to maintain cost parity with their Asian and U.S. competitors in the world export markets for manufactured goods like machinery, vehicles, and chemicals, all energy-intensive manufacturing processes.  At the same time, they shut down fossil fuel power plants and even nuclear power plants, although the latter emits only heat and water vapor as byproducts of their operations.  In doing so, they abandoned 79 billion tons of domestic coal reserves across the E.U., further placing their manufacturing sector at the mercy of foreign energy producers.  Then, when the E.U. placed an embargo on the import of fossil fuels from Russia due to the latter’s invasion of Ukraine, Vladimir Putin, Russia’s president, administered the coup de grâce: he cut off the supply of Russian gas to the E.U. from the Nord Stream One pipeline.  Parties unknown sealed the fate of the E.U. when they blew up the undersea pipeline, ensuring that the supply of cheap natural gas to the E.U. had ended.

Why did the E.U. commit economic suicide by basing its economy on the supply of energy from an adversary?  Why did E.U. nations reconfigure their power grid to eliminate electricity production from coal, an energy source that is abundant, reliable, economical, and domestically produced?  Why did they shift to less reliable and uneconomical sources for the production of electricity like wind and solar voltaic cells and, in the process, eliminate millions of jobs in their domestic energy sector and adversely impact their balance of trade?  Who were responsible for these bad decisions, and why did they make them?

For the past 30 years, politicians throughout the E.U. kowtowed to the green parties and eco-terrorists in their countries by declaring war on the carbon atom and the hydrocarbon bond based on the fraudulent man-made global warming hypothesis.  Many politicians in Europe joined the global warming chorus with full-throated support; it assumed the element of noblesse oblige.  In 2018, British prime minister Theresa May stated: “There is a clear moral imperative for developed economies like the U.K. to help those around the world who stand to lose most from the consequences of man-made climate change.”  The implication from the prime minister’s remarks: those who don’t support the fraudulent hypothesis are immoral.

Today, energy costs in the U.K. have trebled from just two years ago, and rampant inflation throughout the E.U. is at a level not seen since the 1970s.  The price advantage manufacturers once enjoyed in international markets is gone, in the process smashing the continent’s once-harmonious labor relations as unions throughout the E.U. in every economic sector from transportation to manufacturing to health care strike for higher wages to offset higher energy and food costs.  As global trade cools, Europe’s heavy reliance on exports — which account for about 50% of eurozone GDP versus 10% for the U.S. — is becoming a weakness.

Unfortunately, there is no quick fix for the problems the E.U. faces.  Coal mines have been closed, coal-fired power plants have been shuttered, and it will take years, perhaps decades, to turn things around.  In the interim, the E.U. runs the risk of devolving into a third-world power, both economically and militarily.

It did not have to be this way.  If the populace and political leaders in the E.U. had not allowed themselves to be fooled by the pseudoscience that underpins the fraudulent global warming hypothesis, their standard of living would not have been destroyed.

In my book titled Global Warming: The Great Deception — The Triumph of Dollars and Politics Over Science and Why You Should Care, I cite published, peer-reviewed scientific research, employing the first principles of the relevant scientific fields of thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, atmospheric physics, and spectroscopy to prove that CO2 does not cause global warming.  I use publicly available data from the world’s temperature databases to prove that there has been no significant global warming of the Earth’s atmosphere, oceans or land mass as the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere increased, thereby falsifying the global warming hypothesis.  I use publicly available information to demonstrate that the motivation of the U.N. IPCC, certain world politicians, and global investment firms is to gain financially by promoting the fraudulent hypothesis.  It is all about the money and political power.  Science has been sacrificed on the altar of opportunism for economic and political gain.

Will American politicians and the American electorate learn from the E.U.’s mistakes?  At present, it sure doesn’t look like it.  Democrats and the Biden administration are rushing headlong to join their European colleagues in embracing the fraudulent man-made global warming agenda.  President Biden canceled the Keystone Pipeline and suspended the leasing of federal lands in the U.S. for oil and gas exploration.  He directed the U.S. EPA to issue guidelines that would effectively eliminate the operation of fossil fuel–fired power plants and cars with internal combustion engines in the U.S. in ten years or less.  He directed the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to declare the most productive lands for the production of oil and gas in the Permian Basin in the U.S. to be off-limits for oil and gas production, in order to preserve the habitat of the Greater Eastern Prairie Chicken.

Republicans are afraid to oppose these efforts from fear of being called “deniers” or opponents of “science.”  Meanwhile, global investment firms are licking their chops at the prospect of billions of dollars of fees from managing ESG investments and selling carbon credits and offsets.  Is the U.S. destined to suffer the fate of the E.U.?

ISIS is an American phenomenon, have documents to show that the USA trained them: Taliban

Taliban appointed Governor of Kabul, Mohammad Qassim Khalid has said that the US is behind Daesh (ISIS) and that the group is an American phenomenon, according to TOLO News.

TOLO News is an Afghan news channel broadcasting from Kabul. Khalid in a special interview with TOLO News said that he has the documents that show the US has trained Daesh. He said: “The enemies do not want Afghanistan to be calm and so they create bias through various ways. Daesh is … produced by the US. It is a fact that Daesh is an American phenomenon.”

Khalid also denied the killing of the co-founder and second leader of al-Qaeda in the capital city of Kabul, Ayman al-Zawahiri, saying that there is no evidence to prove Zawahiri was killed in Kabul.

“The US claims that they eliminated Daesh in Afghanistan. The documents and evidence that would be valid for the media or between countries have not been provided by them,” he said, as per TOLO News.

Khalid also talked about land grabbing in Kabul, saying that 300,000 acres of land has been grabbed by various people.

“Around 150,000 acres of land is being assessed and around 100,000 acres of land has been identified,” he said.

He also urged the former Afghan officials and political leaders abroad to return to the country.

Months after the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan in 2021, the Islamic State-Khorasan (ISIS-K) has mangaed to expand its reach to nearly all of Afghanistan’s provinces. This was stated by the U.N. mission in Afghanistan in November, reported The Washington Post.

ISIS-K has also stepped up the tempo of its attacks, carrying out suicide bombings, ambushes and assassinations. It has claimed 224 attacks in Afghanistan since August 2021, 30 of which were considered significant, according to SITE Intelligence Group, a non-profit that monitors terrorist groups. A bomb blast that killed at least 21 worshipers, including an influential cleric, and injured more than 30 others in Afghanistan’s capital during evening prayers on Wednesday evening, according to Taliban officials and residents, has renewed focus on the threat to the Taliban posed by Afghanistan’s Islamic State affiliate.

Residents of the Khair Khana area of Kabul told The Washington Post that the prayer leader who was killed, Amir Mohammad Kabuli, was an outspoken preacher unaffiliated with any one faction.

Vile Israel-hatred: anti-Semitic slogans at Berlin gay pride parade

Appalling anti-Semitism under the rainbow! At Berlin’s Christopher Street Day, many participants swapped transgender flags for those of Palestine, shouting anti-Israel slogans loudly.

“Free Palestine” was the message of the participants of the homosexual parade in the German capital. But this demand is by no means harmless. The slogan “Free Palestine” means nothing less than the wish for the eradication of the Jewish state of Israel, to be replaced by the Palestinian state. A call for violence against Israel.

Translation: A whole crowd shouts extermination slogans against the state of Israel at the “Internationalist Queer Pride” in Berlin. Among them: trans activists with “Protect Trans Kids” posters, next to waving Progress flags.

But that was not enough. The “activists” also underpinned their anti-Semitism with posters calling for a boycott of companies such as Puma or the insurance company AXA. The latter is to be boycotted because it holds shares in Israeli banks, among others. “Don’t insure yourself with the Jew”, in other words.

After Bud Light, Dylan Mulvaney is now coming for the kids

twitter

By Monica Showalter

After destroying Bud Light as a commercial brand, transgender “influencer” Dylan Mulvaney has decided it’s time to influence the kids.

According to the New York Post:

Trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney is looking to cash in on her newfound notoriety in the wake of the Bud Light fiasco by “booking speaking opportunities” on college campuses.

Mulvaney — who recently escaped to Peru to “feel safe” from the backlash and boycotts hounding her and the fizzling beer brand — offered up her services in an Instagram post Wednesday.

“Booking speaking opportunities for the upcoming 23/24 school year and would love to come visit,” she told her 2 million followers.

She included an email address “for serious inquiries” and added “love ya!”

Which from his own point of view, would make sense, given that it’s impossible to think any major corporation would take him on as their paid influencer. Mulvaney’s “influence” on Bud Light was to influence its longstanding customers to stop buying their product.

That’s coincided with, at least, corporations now cutting back their DEI budgets and personnel, given how it repels potential customers.

But academia seems to move slower, and continues to be well larded with federal funds from the COVID era, plus ballooning trust funds. Given the lunacy of ideas swirling around America’s wokester universities, it might just be a money-making operation for Mulvaney to replace his lost revenue from corporate sponsors.

Because he does seem to need money right now, given that and he likes to wear expensive women’s clothes, in great quanitity. But the influencing gigs have all but dried up. It’s also quite likely he isn’t getting as many “swag bags” full of free designer stuff from the Hollywood crowd. Only an obscure hair-care company seems to have hired him to do an ad for them since the Bud Light fiasco. I doubt it’s moved their needle much on sales. Not even Target wants him.

According to his Wikipedia page, he apparently draws boycotts of products wherever he goes:

Mulvaney also promoted a Nike sports bra in a sponsored post on Instagram in April 2023,[21] and in response, Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies called for a Nike boycott.[41] This was shortly thereafter followed by backlash and calls for a boycott against makeup company Maybelline after Mulvaney posted a short video of herself applying the company’s products.[42]

It’s only a matter of time, it seems, before rival brands start paying him to tout the other guy’s products. But that hasn’t happened just yet.

What better, then, than academia to fix the cash crunch?

It might work, given academia’s general leftist lunacy.

That would be sweet revenge for him.

According to Creative Artists Agency, which represents him, he’s available to lecture the kiddie-poos on the topics of:

College & University
Actresses
Digital Influencers
Comedians
LGBTQIA+ Advocacy
Diversity⸒ Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
Women’s Empowerment
Social Media
Humor

Women’s empowerment? That’s a doozy. This is a man, after all, who far from playing a strong corporate woman in his schtick as “a girl” as he puts it, plays a ditzy, flippant, 1950s-style Doris Day-era imitation of a woman, or a really idiotic kind of arm-candy woman promoted by Madison Avenue back in the Mad Men era. Women are supposed to hear from and be influenced by this retrograde female imitator as their means of getting empowered?

Spare us.

As for what Mulvaney does for a living, or what his educational achievement is, which might justify his addition at a credible college as a speaker, on both fronts he also comes up short. The guy lives for posting Instagram pictures of himself wearing fancy clothes. He has a big following of around 11 million people on his TikTok account and nearly 2 million on his Instagram, but let’s not kid ourselves that these are all friendly follows in the wake of the Bud Light controversy. What message would he have for women on that front? To become an idle influencer instead of an academic achiever? As for education, he says he has a degree in musical theatre from a music college in Cincinnati. Not exactly impressive in terms of academic achievement there. Maybe he can play the piano somewhere.

The problem with this is that it might work, given academia’s appetite for wokester lunacy. In which case, kids are going to be the losers here. Lucky kids who get to hear him placed up there on the podium as their de facto professor and influencer for the day’s lessons.Somehow, the woke world always manages to give them the short end of the stick. Mulvaney will make bank and the students will waste valuable hours of their lives listening to him and getting indoctrinated into trans ideology, instead hearing from someone who can increase their knowledge base.

Lucky them.

India: As video of Halal certified tea bags served in a train goes viral, here is why even vegetarian products are forced to get Halal certification

Source: The Free Press Journal

video of a heated exchange between an official of the Indian railways and a passenger angry after being served halal-certified tea has gone viral. The passenger in the video questioned the railway staff as to what halal-certified tea is and why it was being served during the month of Sawan.

In the undated video, the passenger is heard saying that he is a devout Hindu and that consuming anything with a halal certification hurts his religious sentiments. “Sawan ka mahina chal raha hai, aap halal chai pila rahe hain. Ye kya likha hua hai? Halal certified. Kya cheez hai ye?” the man said.

To this, the railway official is heard telling the passenger that it is a packet of masala chai premix as he points out that the ingredients in the packet are completely vegetarian.

The incident reportedly occurred on the Vande Bharat Express, where the passenger was served the premix tea from the brand ‘Chaizup.’ The passenger was confused and concerned since the tea premix had a “halal certification” even though it was advertised as “100% vegetarian,” especially since it was the Hindu holy month of Shravan.

After the video went viral, IRCTC tweeted a clarification explaining why such products, despite being 100% vegetarian mandatorily need to carry halal certification. “Your concerns are appreciated. The mentioned brand premix tea has the mandatory FSSAI Certification. The product is 100% vegetarian with mandatory “Green Dot” indication. Further, as per the manufacturer, the product is also exported to other Countries which mandates “Halal certification” for such products,” read the tweet.

A fierce debate on social media about food certification and its religious connotations was ignited by video of the exchange. Many people are confused as to how tea premix could be certified as Halal or why is that even necessary.

In previous articles we have explained how the Halal meat industry practises discrimination against non-Muslims and eventually cuts off non-Muslims from jobs and employment, just to maintain the religious requirements of the Halal process.

Many companies, Islamists, and Halal proponents have clarified that the Halal certificate is also there for non-meat products like vegetarian food items, cosmetics and other FMCG goods. There have been claims from some elements that Halal certification is just a certification for ‘purity and authenticity’, and a Halal certification (on non-meat products) does simply imply that the product is ‘good’.

While it is understandable that Halal slaughter has over the years generated the most revulsion from people, Halal certification for non-animal products should not be ignored either. Although outwardly different, fundamentally, the certification process for both are the same and are intended to achieve the same objectives.

Halal certification is purely religious, even in non-meat products because it considers whether the said products contain any ingredients that are prohibited in Islam. The very idea is discriminatory in itself because the basis of the certification here is a religious belief, whether a certain ingredient is ‘allowed’ in the Islamic faith or not.

So the question here is, why do we need a Halal certificate anyway? And more importantly, what is the justification behind the certification apart from religious belief?

Why even vegetarian products are forced to get Halal certification

Halal India, the certification authority, states that processed food is considered halal if it is not contaminated by ingredients that are considered ‘najis’ as per Sharia Law. Furthermore, the equipment used for its production should not be contaminated with ‘najis’ either. ‘Najis’, as per Sharia law, are substances that make a product ritually unclean. Substances such as alcohol, dogs, swine and milk of animals Muslims are not permitted to drink and other such things are considered ‘Najis’.

There is one marked difference between Halal slaughter and certification for products that do not contain animal products. Halal slaughter can only be performed by a Muslim man. Thus, non-Muslims are automatically denied employment at a Halal firm. There are certain other conditions that must be fulfilled that make it quite clear that it is intrinsically an Islamic practice. Guidelines available at the official websites of certification authorities make it abundantly clear that non-Muslim employees cannot be engaged in any part of the slaughtering process.

However, in the case of products that do not necessarily contain animal products, non-Muslims can be employed for the preparation of the product. However, the certification authorities still only employ Muslims. Therefore, Halal certification is a business operation that makes money off even non-animal products by monopolizing the certification process.

In short, for every product that is sold, a certain amount of the revenue must be handed over to these certification authorities that always employ people who belong to the Muslim community. Essentially, Halal certification is no longer about choice but about making others pay for Islamic beliefs.

It is also important to remember that the Government of India does not mandate Halal certification, it only has its FSSAI certification. Thus, halal certification bodies are a way for Islamic fundamentalists to push themselves into business operations, thereby ensuring that the Muslim community always has a monopoly over a share of the revenue and it is a business model that only employs Muslims.

So when acquiring a Halal certificate is not mandatory then why even in countries where Muslims are a micro-minority, business establishments work overtime to ensure that their products are Halal certified?

This phenomenon is explained quite eloquently by the rather eccentric but brilliant scholar, Nassim Nicolas Taleb, through the concept of ‘The Most Intolerant Wins‘. He asserted that if there is a section of the population, albeit a minority, who will not consume something at any cost owing to their belief system but the larger majority simply doesn’t care enough, then businesses will only be overeager to accommodate the ‘intolerance’ of the minority population.

Thus, if there’s a minority population (say, A) that will only consume Halal products (say, H) and there’s a majority community (say, B) that’s not motivated enough to care either way, then H will become the norm in the market, as it has become, as B will consume H but A will not consume anything but H. H is the lowest common denominator and theoretically, businesses profit more only by appealing to the lowest common denominator. It is pertinent to mention here that this proposition holds true only where secular values have become the norm. This won’t hold true in Islamic societies or Israel.
