Nigeria: Mob pelts stone shouting ‘Allah Hu Akbar’, children participate in the brutal murder of a man accused of ‘blasphemy’

The deceased Usman Buda (L), the mob (including children) pelting stones (R)

In a disturbing and shocking incident from Nigeria’s Sokoto, a mob has brutally stoned a man to death over allegations of ‘blasphemy’.

As per reports, the deceased person Usman Buda worked as a butcher in an abattoir in Sokoto city. Locals accused him of blasphemous comments against Prophet Mohammad on Sunday, June 25.

Disturbing visuals of the incident have surfaced on social media, where a large mob, including children, are throwing stones at a badly injured Usman Buda as he tries to get up, stumbles and falls. A heap of stones slowly gathers near Usman Buda as he dies. Young children are seen participating in the murder actively, with no adult trying to prevent the children from throwing stones or even trying to prevent them from watching the bloody murder.

Warning: graphic, violent content. Viewer discretion is advised.

“On 25th June 2023 at about 0955hrs, a distress call was received at about 0920hrs that one Usman Buda ‘M’ of Gwandu LGA a Butcher at Sokoto Abbatoir allegedly blasphemed the holy prophet Muhammad (SAW); as a result, he was mobbed and attacked by some Muslims faithful and inflicted Serious injuries on him”, the statement from the police chief of Sokoto read.

The police have stated that an investigation has been launched into the case. They added that when the police arrived, the mob had dissipated and they could not arrest anyone.

As per reports, some people closest to Usman, including his closest neighbors, have described him as a ‘good Muslim’ and have stated that there was no way he could have blasphemed against the prophet. They have added that Usman Buda was a popular butcher in the area and some locals were jealous because his business was good.

Christian student Deborah Samuel was lynched to death in Sokoto last year

In Nigeria’s Sokoto, a young Christian girl named Deborah Samuel was brutally lynched to death by her own classmates in May 2022.

In videos of the brutal mob lynching and burning that have gone viral, Deborah’s killers can be seen shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’, showing off the matchbox with which they burned her battered corpse, and rejoicing in the violent deed.

The victim Deborah Samuel was a student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education, in Sokoto State. Reports stated that a WhatsApp group was being used by Deborah and her fellow students where someone had shared an Islamic post. Deborah had reportedly objected to religious content being shared in the student group. Her response, however, was deemed ‘unIslamic’ and ‘blasphemous’ by her fellow students. The fellow students then attacked her chanting ‘Allah Hu Akbar’ and rejoiced as they lynched her to death and then set her battered corpse on fire.

Sokoto is under Sharia law, blasphemy is punishable by death

The Sokoto area is largely Muslim. Nigeria is divided into northern Muslim parts and southern Christian parts.

The Sokoto state is under Islamic Sharia law, like almost a dozen other Nigerian states. In Sokoto state, the crime of ‘blasphemy’ means the death penalty. The police often overlook such incidents and perpetrators get away with murder.

‘Political earthquake’ – Germany’s AfD party posts historic win in Thuringia, scores first district administrator

Alternative for Deutschland (AfD) candidate Robert Sesselmann won the second round of elections in Sonneberg, Thuringia, on Sunday, becoming the first politician from the party to hold a district leadership post. The win is being touted as a historic victory for the party at a time when it is seeing record support from the population and routinely polling between 19 and 20 percent in nationwide surveys.

Sesselmann defeated the incumbent CDU candidate Jürgen Köpper by a convincing margin.
Preliminary election results show Sesselmann with 52.8 percent of the vote and Köpper with 47.2 percent, reports Germany’s Focus magazine.

Although he did not achieve an absolute majority in the first round, Sesselmann won 47 percent of the votes, making him the strong favorite to win in the second round.

The win also comes despite a cross-party coalition of Greens, Free Democrats (FDP), the Left party, and the Social Democrats (SPD) endorsing the CDU candidate and urging their voters to back him against the AfD. The German press also made the election a national issue, warning of a “threat against democracy” should the AfD win.

In his campaign, the AfD candidate promised voters that he would tackle high inflation and the growing problem of immigration. The rural and conservative population of Germany is increasingly dissatisfied with the current leadership, which could lead to a national rise of the AfD.

The AfD celebrated the win on Twitter, writing: “Sonneberg experienced its blue miracle: Robert Sesselmann is the first AfD district administrator in Germany. Congratulations and thanks to all supporters and voters – they all made history today!”

German newspaper Junge Freiheit describes the victory as a “political earthquake,” but the German political establishment is reacting with concern and threats.

Green party leader Ricarda Lang called the result of the district election “disturbing.” She stated: “Now at the latest is the time when – despite all the disputes on the matter – all democratic forces must defend democracy together.”

Schleswig-Holstein SPD member of the Bundestag Ralf Stegner claimed the election had similarities with the Third Reich, writing, “Ninety years after the seizure of power and the beginning of the Nazi dictatorship, the district of Sonneberg in southern Thuringia elected a right-wing extremist as district administrator.”

As Remix News recently reported, AfD soared to an unprecedented 20 percent in a recent INSA poll, likely driven by a broad range of factors such as Germany’s significant inflation and economic crisis, as well as the migration crisis. The INSA poll shows that 34 percent of voters describe themselves as “angry citizens,” and among AfD supporters, 70 percent describe themselves this way.

Germany: Islamic guardians of public morals at the children’s festival ?

Three men allegedly sexually harassed two girls on and after the children’s and local heritage festival in Laupheim on Sunday night. The police took up the investigation and is now looking for witnesses.
Three men allegedly sexually harassed two girls on and after the children’s and local festival in Laupheim on Sunday night. A 14-year-old girl was first “indecently touched” by two men on the festival grounds, police said on Sunday morning.

She then wanted to seek help from her 16-year-old sister and is said to have been harassed on the way to her by another man and again “indecently approached”. The perpetrator, according to police, then told the girl that she needed to “dress demurely if she didn’t want to be groped.” The girl then fled to her sister and friends.

In the area of the “Hasenbar” the sisters met two of the men, who are said to have already become violent on the fairground. In front of the pub, they are said to have grabbed the 14- and 16-year-olds again. The police took up the investigation and are now looking for witnesses.

Why Western lawmakers are favoring a convicted terrorist Tarique Rahman and his BNP?

Influential lawmakers in the United States, United Kingdom and European Union nations have been continuously misled by the lobbyists working on behalf of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), an Islamist organization with a past record of terrorist activities, while its acting chairman Tarique Rahman is a convicted terrorist. Unfortunately, being totally unaware of such misdeeds and terrorist background of BNP and Tarique Rahman, majority of those western lawmakers are exerting their influence in favor of this poisonous front in returning to power in Bangladesh by unseating the secularist Awami League.

On May 24, 2023, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken issued a press release announcing a new visas policy that allows the United States to restrict the issuance of visa for any Bangladeshi individual, believed to be complicit in undermining the general elections in Bangladesh due to be held in January 2024.

Following the announcement, there has been a surge in propaganda in Bangladesh, promulgated by the political opposition in Bangladesh – the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its ideological ally, Jamaat-e-Islami – citing that the visa restriction is “a result of their efforts” and is aimed at censuring the incumbent government of Bangladesh, although according to the visa policy, every individual – including opposition party members – fall under potential restriction should they jeopardize the electoral process in Bangladesh.

Notably, the Jamaat-e-Islami has historically been stirring profoundly concerning anti-US sentiments in Bangladesh, and both the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami have been repeatedly denounced by the US Congress for its ties to Islamic militancy, oppression of religious minorities (Hindus, Christians, Buddhists and others),, and as a threat to the democratic process in Bangladesh.

Moreover, the BNP has been exploiting the new visa policy in furthering its political agenda. It should be kindly noted that most of the Bangladeshi voters, who hail from rural areas and have limited literacy, are unable to obtain information about the new visa policy from reliable sources but depend on the mouthpieces of the main political organs as the primary source of their information.

The BNP has dubbed the new visa policy as a ‘US sanction against the Bangladesh government’ and is holding it akin to the US sanctions against Russia. This has generated a wave of misinformation among the general population which risks swaying popular opinion, jeopardizing a fair democratic election in Bangladesh. Such misinformation has also encouraged BNP leaders to use highly provocative and inflammatory language, including death threats to the incumbent Prime Minister.

Furthermore, the BNP and its political ally Jamaat-e-Islami have repeatedly threatened to remove the incumbent government through means of force, which seriously threatens democracy in Bangladesh.

In the US House Resolution 160 and 1156, and in a resolution adopted by the European Parliament, the Bangladesh government was asked to “deny, disrupt, and dismantle the ability of Jamaat-e-Islami and its affiliates to continue posing an immediate and ongoing threat to secular democracy and regional stability”, and it was observed that “religious minorities were targeted by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Jamaat-e-Islami, and Islami Chhatra Shibir, following the 2014 general elections [which the BNP boycotted and was keen on disrupting]” Both parliaments urged the BNP to delink with Jamaat-e-Islami (Jamaat-e-Islami), but with the general elections approaching, the BNP high command has instructed to strengthen its ties with the militant Jamaat-e-Islami.

It should further be noted that the BNP-Jamaat government named a bridge in Bangladesh in honor of Hezbollah – a US-designated foreign terrorist organization.

As a long-standing ally of the US, I feel concerned that any undue capitalization of the new visa policy of the US by militancy groups such as Jamaat-e-Islami and the BNP will seriously jeopardize secular democracy, revivify militancy, and threaten free expression in Bangladesh. As the Jamaat-e-Islami is a global militancy platform with outposts in many countries, its rise to power can seriously threaten regional and global stability.

The US and Bangladesh have been strong allies for 51 years, and the US has stood beside Bangladesh in combating militancy, and the two countries have extensively cooperated in counterterrorism and safeguarding regional and global security as two democratic institutions. While the people of Bangladesh look forward to a free and fair general election in 2024, the general population, who uphold secularism as a fundamental tenet of Bangladesh’s Liberation, do not want the return of militancy in Bangladesh.

In the 2013 Shahbagh Protests, the youth of Bangladesh ubiquitously took to the streets calling for a ban on Jamaat-e-Islami and other extremist and theocratic political parties in Bangladesh. While the US and the EU have since urged the BNP to unequivocally decry the Jamaat-e-Islami, far from doing that, the BNP has been working on resuscitating the Jamaat-e-Islami ahead of the general elections, which has reinstated a fear of violence through means of political showdown in Bangladesh.

It is suspected that the BNP, fearful of the US visa embargo, will use the Jamaat-e-Islami to proliferate political violence, aiming to remove the government by force. It should be noted that the Jamaat-e-Islami is not a registered political party with the Bangladesh Election Commission and will try to disrupt the electoral process in Bangladesh, while the BNP – detached from the Jamaat-e-Islami in theory – cannot be held accountable under the new visa policy for any actions of the Jamaat-e-Islami.

Bangladesh has been moving towards secularization of the state. The country whose reputation was tainted by the Islamists during the BNP-Jamaat administration from 2001-2006 has now taken decisive steps in eradicating militancy under the new administration.

Pakistan: Islamabad police attempt to arrest Maulana Abdul Aziz, gets assaulted by burqa-clad female students of madarsa

Pakistan once again found itself in the spotlight due to an unusual incident. This time, the Islamabad police set out to apprehend a radical Islamist Maulana Abdul Aziz but encountered a rather unexpected turn of events. To their surprise, the police were met with resistance and physically assaulted by Maulana’s wife and a group of students, all clad in burqas. This clever disguise made it challenging to identify the assailants. In response to the escalating situation, the Pakistani police decided to file a terrorism case against Maulana’s wife. According to reports, she managed to prevent her husband’s arrest by inciting the students to turn against the police.

Upon reaching the gates of Lal Masjid to apprehend the Maulana on 21st June 2023, the police were confronted by a formidable sight—hordes of madrasa girls. Under the leadership of Maulana’s wife, approximately 200 girls formed an aggressive front and launched an attack on the police. Armed with sticks, they created chaos on the streets of the nation’s capital in broad daylight. The audacious act resulted in the injury of several policemen, including female officers who were mercilessly beaten.

The situation further escalated as some students resorted to pelting stones, while others even fired bullets at the police. The combined assault and ensuing mayhem prevented the police from successfully arresting the Maulana. Additionally, the incident led to the blockage of several important roads in Islamabad, causing significant disruption for several hours.

Following his successful escape from the clutches of the police, the Maulana took to video to recount the entire incident, providing his version of events. In his narrative, he revealed that the police had fired upon his vehicle, posing a grave threat to his life. Fortunately, he had a security guard’s firearm at his disposal and, in self-defence, returned fire.

The retaliatory exchange of gunfire drew the attention of more of his supporters, who swiftly gathered around the scene. Utilizing this opportune moment, the Maulana managed to make his escape. Later examination of Maulana’s abandoned car revealed multiple bullet marks, clearly indicating the intensity of the gunfire exchange that had taken place.

Maulana Abdul Aziz, an Islamist leader in Pakistan, has consistently been promoting extremist ideologies and has faced numerous accusations related to terrorism. His intention is to establish the ‘Lal Masjid’ in the heart of Islamabad as a centre for his radical activities to reflect his extremist aspirations. During the police’s attempt to arrest him, Maulana’s wife mobilized a group of madrasa girls, who vehemently attacked the police, ultimately facilitating Maulana’s escape. This incident underscores Maulana Abdul Aziz’s persistent efforts to propagate and strengthen Islamist ideals within the country.

It’s time Poland stopped focusing on ‘free’ EU funds as a reason for its membership in the bloc

Since Poland became a member of the European Union, its prime ministers have stressed how much money they have been able to extract from Brussels. Poles were encouraged to be happy about the fact Poland was a net recipient of the EU budget, as if the European Union was some form of charity.

However, that approach has had highly negative consequences. If what Poland gets from the EU is a “gift,” then surely the grantor has the right to expect something in return. And it is natural that if you receive a present, you might want to give something in return.

Poland is not getting something for nothing from the EU. This is a toxic myth that has led Poles to adopt a subservient posture towards the bloc. It breeds the notion that you shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Add to this Poland’s inferiority complex with regard to the West, and we start adopting a totally uncritical attitude towards the EU.

Poland still tends to see the European Union in purely economic terms. This is because improving our economic well-being was the primary reason for joining the EU. But it was wrong of us to assume that this would be realized through the absorption of EU funds. Even though those funds have helped us build up our infrastructure, that is not the primary source of our wealth. Work and entrepreneurship are the key, which means what is most important for Poland is access to the EU single market.

In theory, we should have full access to that market, but in reality, we face barriers in the form of protectionism from the older member states, which protect their economies against ours.

Membership in a single market is the most important aspect of our EU status, as it allows us to develop our economy without aid. Aid would make us dependent and politically too weak to resist proposals that are unfavorable to us.

Brussels is very good at exploiting Polish euro enthusiasm to morally blackmail us against concentrating on our own interests.

We need a serious debate in Poland on why we are in the EU, what are the main benefits, and how best to secure their maintenance. We should abandon our obsession with EU funds and concentrate on building strong businesses capable of competing in EU markets and on securing regulations that are good for us and not on how much money we might get from EU transfers. Those transfers are not free and they come with strings attached.

Leftism and the Enemies within the Church

Image via Pexels.

By Jim Hollingsworth

There is a new documentary out, Enemies within the Church, which documents the decline of evangelical Christianity and the rise of liberalism within the church.  Every Christian who is concerned about liberty needs to watch this film and share it with his friends.

The film makes the point that the modern church has neglected any teaching about the law.  Truly, the Ten Commandments were given to Israel, but they are important to the Christian church as well.

Although no one was ever saved by keeping the law, the Ten Commandments were important to the founders of America.  The men who founded America knew their Bibles well.  They knew the importance of the Ten Commandments, not only in God’s relationship with Israel, but as a foundation of law in any community.  This evident fact was so important that in time, the Ten Commandments became the basis of criminal law in every state of the Union.

While the law is important, the idea of keeping the law leading to salvation is contrary to the Christian narrative.  The early evangelists preached the importance of repentance.  Their message was to repent and believe the gospel.

Repentance is a change in thinking.  Before anyone can believe the truth about what Christ did on the cross of Calvary, he has to change his thinking.  Our salvation depends on believing in what Jesus did in bearing our sins on the cross.

Love is an important part of the message of the film.  The world would have us believe that love is the only message of importance.  They, therefore, insist that we love them enough that we will accept their deviant lifestyle, that we accept their sin.

But the Bible has a contrasting message.  We are told not to love as the world loves: “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.  If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2:15).

Love is rarely found in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, but it is found often in the writings of the apostle John and throughout the New Testament.  It begins with God’s love for the world and demonstrating that love by giving His son to die for our sins.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

God loved us, and He gave us His son.  We are to demonstrate that same love to one another.

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:35)

It is love that distinguishes the Christian from others.  The film laments the fact that many in the church have emphasized love to the exclusion of other very important teaching.

After John 3:16, we are told some other things that explain what is happening in our world today.  First, Jesus did not come to condemn, but to save (v. 17).  Then the one who believes is not condemned, but the one who does not believe has already been condemned (John 3:18).

The development ends with this verse, which describes our present age and what is happening in the church.  “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil” (John 3:19).  Evil has entered the church and masqueraded as truth.  Many have fallen into sin because of it.

Love is an important teaching of the New Testament.  In fact, the apostle Paul spends most of First Corinthians, chapter 13 talking about the importance of love, translated as “charity” in the King James Bible.  The Bible teaches the importance of love all through the rest of the New Testament.

The message of the film is important.  Marxism in all its forms has made a strong entrance into the organized church.  Many parents have sent their kids off to seminary or Bible school, only to have them come home and deny God.

This movement called “liberalism” began at the beginning of the twentieth century.  Church groups that stood squarely on foundational principles gradually became more liberal.  Some even denied that the Bible is true.  As noted in the film, some believed that the Old Testament was just a collection of myths.

There are important changes that have taken place over the past twenty-five years.  This has been helped along by some decisions by a more liberal Supreme Court.

One example is the Bible’s position on homosexuality.  Some have claimed that homosexuals (gay men) are just born that way, and there is nothing they can do about it.  In actual fact, people grow up with all sorts of native sins, homosexuality being just one of them.  One man in the film, who was molested as a young man and grew up believing he was gay, came to Christ and ultimately got away from the gay lifestyle.  He later married and raised a family.  The Bible teaching is clear, yet the modern church has made excuses for gays.  Some churches have even ordained gay pastors, as well as women, which is contrary to sound biblical teaching.

The transgender issue has brought most of this to a head.  Committed Christians began to realize that all this is wrong.  It gradually became clear that there are some who would subvert the basic science of biology, claiming that there are multiple genders.

Facts are stubborn things.  And the fact is that God created only two sexes, male and female (Gen. 1:27), and that is evident in every cell of our bodies.  Doctors can mutilate a person’s body, but they can never change his sex.

June has been called “pride month.”  We are supposed to support homosexuality and transgenderism.  But this is a great evil.  The church must take a principled stand against this evil.  While these conditions are attractive to certain people, the end result is the destruction of the church.

Churches need to have clear doctrinal statements and work to ensure that they do not deviate from the teaching of the Bible.  Now some who have stood for truth have lost their jobs or their positions.  These were following the clear teachings of the Bible.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Cor. 15:58)

The first disciples knew the truth and what God required of them.

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. (Acts 5:29)

Some churches have preached that the Christian should not have anything to say about the government, yet a careful study of the Old Testament indicates that the prophets spent a lot of effort condemning the established authority.

We need to be careful that we do not accept a watered down message so that we can accept the gay or LGBT lifestyle.  It is time for the church to stand for truth without wavering.

France: A rally in support of an imam deported to Algeria for glorifying terrorism; Abderrahim Sayah was, among other things, “accused of providing false identity papers to those responsible for the terrorist attacks” in Paris

On the way to a controversial gathering. On Sunday, June 25, a peaceful demonstration “in honor” of Abderrahim Sayah, an imam accused of being a “leader of Salafism” and deported to Algeria about ten days ago, is planned for 1 pm in the commune of Hautmont (northern France).

Mohamed Dahmane, a former professional footballer, had called for the gathering via social networks.

This imam, had founded the cultural association “Assalem” in 2014 and was involved in the founding of the As-Sunnah mosque in Hautmont. According to the eviction order, this place was “known for spreading a Wahabbite Salafist Islam” and supported “armed jihad” and “violence” against Christians and Jews, before the mosque was closed in 2018.

Abderrahim Sayah was also on trial for violent acts against a firefighter in 2019, repeated death threats against his father-in-law, a former police officer, in 2021 and threats with a handgun against a man the same year.
