As immigration crisis swamps Western Europe, the EU wants to relocate thousands of migrants to countries like Poland and Hungary

The European Commission seems to hope that by renaming the compulsory relocation of migrants as a form of “mandatory solidarity,” no one will notice that it is proposing the same solutions as in 2015 when a wave of refugees and illegal migrants flooded Europe.

The same sort of pressure is being brought to bear on member states that refused to back mandatory migrant quotas in 2015.

The EU’s Swedish presidency is pretending we are dealing with new solutions, but this is instead just a return to 2015 and shows that the Eurocracy is incapable of learning from its mistakes. The creation of a relocation system is an incentive for more waves of migrants. It is also anything but humanitarian, as it would entail migrants being sent to live in places they where don’t want to live.

The €22,000 penalty per rejected migrant that member states will have to fork out, sits uncomfortably with the fact that only €200 per person was offered to Poland to house refugees from Ukraine. It also fails to take any notice of the aid Poland is already offering. The EU commission is trying to coerce Poland to fund the migration mistakes of Western Europe.

The EU establishment is also sending a very clear message to both Poland and Ukraine: Your sacrifices do not matter. What matters is our ideology.

It is also worth noting the numbers involved. The European Commission is proposing the relocation of 30,000 migrants to Poland, with the possibility of that number rising to 120,000. At the same time, Western nations are claiming that the €22,000 penalty per migrant is not enough.

Central Europeans are opposing this policy as a limitation of their sovereignty. They also point to the fact that the answer to the crisis is the defense of EU borders, such as the one undertaken by Poland on its border with Belarus, and combating human trafficking.

The situation should also be seen within the context of the European Commission, together with Berlin and Paris, seeking to do away with the member states’ veto and introduce a centralized model of a federal Europe.

Macron and Scholz, who failed to give Ukraine the backing it needed and for years pursued a policy of appeasement of Russia, now want to rule Europe and tell those who made the right calls on these and other issues what they should be doing.

Corsica: Statue of the Virgin Mary of Notre-Dame de Lavasina beheaded in Ajaccio

The details were revealed and, above all, spread through social networks. The statue of Notre-Dame de Lavasina, which was placed on the Ajaccio seafront, was decapitated, causing outrage among many internet users.

This is the umpteenth act of vandalism against religious symbols in just a few months in Corsica. On Saturday April 29, the scout camp in the municipality of Vero, where a temporary altar had been set up, had been vandalised.

On April 12, residents in the Sevani neighbourhood of Ajaccio reported vandalism to a statuette of the Virgin Mary placed in a small stone arch near Petit Capo beach. Two weeks later, on April 27, the image of the decapitated cross on Col Saint-Jean in Sisco sparked fierce outrage, for which the mayor of the municipality became the mouthpiece. “This is an outrageous act,” Ange-Pierre Vivoni had responded to it with a comment. Bloody climax at 10 p.m.: According to the police, a car was attacked on Theodor-Heuss-Strasse, after which at least one knife was drawn. Result: two or three seriously injured!

Erdoğan’s daughter boasts: Islam will ‘break the Western cross’

Image via Max Pixel.

By Raymond Ibrahim

Resorting to jihadist rhetoric, Esra, the daughter of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, recently attacked the West and Christianity.

In a tweet written, not in her native Turkish, but in Islam’s tongue, Arabic, she declared that “There is little left for the Islamic crescent to break the Western cross.”

This phrase is as universally understood by Muslims as it is universally misunderstood by Westerners and is, therefore, emblematic of Muslim continuity and Western confusion.

It has both a literal and figurative meaning.

Concerning the former, Muslims have been, quite literally, “breaking the cross” in keeping with their prophet’s commandment.  Past and present, Muslims have destroyed and continue to destroy the crucifix — in cemeteries, on churches, on Christians — as a reflection of their animosity to the Gospel, specifically, that Christ was crucified, killed, and resurrected, three doctrines central to Christianity that Islam rejects.

Indeed, the June 2015 cover of the Islamic State’s magazine, Dabiq, featured a Muslim breaking a cross off a church steeple, with the words “Break the Cross” underneath.

Less literally, “break the cross” has meant “defeat Christianity” — another thing that Muslims, past and present, have been fervently striving for — including, apparently, the ostensibly “secularized” daughter of Turkey’s president.

In the past, Muslims managed, through violent jihad, to swallow up three quarters of the original Christian world — including the Middle East, North Africa, and “Turkey” (Anatolia).  They also temporarily conquered several other Christian territories (Spain, the Mediterranean, the Balkans) and continuously harried the rest (eventually reaching even Iceland for slaves and provoking a newborn American into its first war as a nation).

Back then, when Islam was a formidable force, Europeans fought tooth and nail to repulse the terrorists and safeguard their homeland’s faith and heritage.

Today, however, when Islam is weak and easily confined, the West finds itself bending over backwards to accommodate and take in more and more Muslim migrants — many of whom, rather than show gratitude, display Islam’s traditional contempt for and prey on “infidels.”

In short, whereas Muslims — including Erdoğan’s daughter, a “sociologist” by profession — know well and strive to achieve the meaning of “break the cross,” Westerners, who for over a millennium had been on the receiving end of such animosity, until they managed to reverse the tide in the eighteenth century, are today not only not doing anything about it, but facilitating it.

In this sense, the assertion that “there is little left for the Islamic crescent to break the Western cross” is more reflective of the state of Christianity in the West than of Islam.

Allahu-akbar shouts in the Favoriten district of Vienna: Turks celebrated Erdogan’s election victory in Austria

Allahu akbar – Allah is greater: This call was audible thousands of times in Vienna’s Favoriten district on Monday night. Masses of immigrants loudly celebrated the election victory of Recep Tayyip Erdogan (69), in Austria 72% of Turks voted for him. The Freedom Party criticized these celebrations.

Allah is greater, Allah is great – Allahu akbar: Thousands of Turks living in Vienna shouted these words, which are also used by Islamist terrorists, at the mass demonstration on Reumann Square. No wonder that worried residents of Vienna’s Favoriten district called the Vienna police – but it was not until 9:30 p.m. that the police reportedly tried to break up the noisy election party of Turks living in Austria.

As reported, Recep Tayyip Erdogan won clearly in the 2nd round of voting with 57.7%, in Austria the not uncontroversial Turkish long-term president even got 72% of the votes of Turks living abroad.

The celebrations in the Vienna district of Favoriten and Erdogan’s impressive result in Austria immediately provoked emotional debates on social media channels. For example, Vienna’s Freedom Party leader Dominik Nepp said on Twitter, “All Erdogan fans should cheer their leader in Turkey. Go home!”

Like Nepp, many Austrians did not understand why this mass gathering had been allowed – after all, there were also numerous far-right Turks among the participants who showed the “wolf salute.” The Allahu-akbar shouts are also – and the shouters know this – not really appropriate in a major Central European city after numerous terrorist attacks.

Not without danger, the situation also escalated on the Gürtel, on Triester Street and on Laxenburger Street: Hundreds of people were on the roadways, waving flags, again and again Turkish immigrants let their cars roar, honked.

“This is not a parallel society, but a counter-society. These people reject us and actively want nothing to do with Austria,” commented Vienna’s Freedom Party leader Dominik Nepp. So far, no statements have come from the other parties on the irritating scenes in Vienna.

As reported, the party representing foreigners also wants a very special Ramadan illumination for the district of Favoriten in the future – just like the Christmas illumination in other districts.

Police Launch Investigation as Water in Venice Grand Canal Turns Neon Green

Police have launched an investigation in Venice after a section of the Italian city’s famed Grand Canal turned a bright phosphorescent green colour on Sunday.

A section of Venice’s Grand Canal near the Rialto Bridge turned a bright shade of neon green on Sunday morning, sparking concerns about the health of the local residents.

The governor of the Veneto region, Luca Zaia said in a statement on social media that local authorities convened an urgent meeting with the police force to investigate the origin of the green liquid in the canal. Environmental specialists have also been tasked with testing the safety of the waters, Il Sore 24 Ore reported.

It is not the first time that the waters in Venice were turned green, with Argentinian artist and climate activist Nicolas Garcia Uriburu dying the waters a similar shade of neon green in 1968 to supposedly raise awareness about environmental issues.

The incident is reminiscent of previous actions committed by far-left eco-warrior groups, with just last week the Last Generation organisation being widely condemned for dumping black dye into the water at Rome’s famed Trevi fountain.

Given that the fountain runs on a recycling system, the action by the climate radicals ironically forced local authorities to dispose of hundreds of thousands of litres of water.

However, so far, no environmentalist group has come forward to claim the turning of the Venice Canal green and the Last Generation has officially denied involvement.

“We have nothing to do with it and it was not us, we usually claim our demonstrations,” they said.

Austrian conservatives slam ‘undemocratic’ plot to cancel Hungary’s EU Council presidency

The FPÖ delegation head in the EU parliament, Harald Vilimsky.

An attempt by left-wing MEPs to deprive Hungary of its scheduled presidency of the Council of the European Union next year is undemocratic and unthinkable, a leading MEP for the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) said on Friday.

In a staunch defense of Austria’s neighbor, Harald Vilimsky slammed the draft resolution proposed by EU lawmakers questioning Budapest’s ability to assume the role in the second half of next year due to ongoing legal proceedings against the Hungarian government for alleged rule-of-law infringements.

It is understood the resolution is supported by a majority of Austria’s political parties, including the ÖVP, SPÖ, and the Greens. However, the FPÖ, currently flying high in domestic polls, has berated the move.

“Hungary is and will remain an important partner in Europe,” Vilimsky said in a statement. The mere thought that Hungary would be deprived of the Council presidency can only be described as disconcerting in terms of democratic politics,” he added.

He further criticized left-wing factions within the European Parliament who have continued a pernicious witch hunt against Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, which Vilimsky believes is for ideological reasons.

“The factions of the Socialists and Christian Democrats in particular should rather take care of the corruption scandals in their ranks instead of distracting them with attacks on Hungary.

“They would be wise to put their own house in order before lecturing a democratically elected government and its prime minister,” Vilimsky said.

He warned that a decision to withdraw the Hungarian presidency of the Council would inevitably lead to the gap between East and West continuing to widen.” He also offered praise for Orbán, who he described as one of the few sensible voices on the European political scene.

“The Hungarian prime minister works for his citizens. That’s what he was elected for — and that’s a good thing. The FPÖ continues to stand by our Hungarian friends, and I think that a majority of citizens in Europe also want good relations with the Hungarian people and no left-wing discord from Brussels,” Vilimsky added.

The FPÖ has been making steady progress on the domestic political scene in Austria and is routinely polling as the most popular party in the country. Best known for its strong stance against mass immigration and anti-Russian sanctions, the party has enjoyed electoral success in several regional elections so far this year, increasing its vote count considerably in Carinthia, Lower Austria, Tyrol and Salzburg.
