On April 21, 2023, Karnataka’s 2nd PUC Result 2023 was released. Among the highest scorers was Tabassum Shaik, who received 593 points out of 600 and placed first in the Arts Stream. After the results were out, Tabassum Shaik said that she preferred to choose “education over hijab,” referring to the recent hijab controversy in the state. However, Islamists chose to distort her comments to claim that she topped exams wearing hijab.
The Islamo-apologists on social media quickly picked her photographs in hijab to spread fake news pondering to Islamist narrative that relentlessly backed wearing the burqa and hijab on educational campuses. These Twitter users essentially implied that the Muslim girl topped the exam despite getting troubled for wearing the hijab, ignoring the fact that the girl herself said she adhered to the school uniform norms by saying that she chose education over hijab.
She had specifically said that she gave up the hijab in college after it was banned in educational institutions with uniform norms in the state, while earlier she use to wear hijab in school and college. But the Islamists tried to present an opposite picture.
It started with Prashant Bhushan who tweeted a picture of Tabassum Shaik with her parents. The photo was edited by a social media handle named Inquilab India. The message in the image formed the basis of the misinformation shared by Prashant Bhushan and others on Twitter. The message read, “Hijab covers the head, not the brain. Congratulations Tabassum. Tabassum Shaik, the victim of the Hijab ban in Karnataka, tops the state board exam. Despite harassment and protests, she continued her education and secured 1st rank with 98.3% in the 12th class PUC exam.”
The same image was shared by Dr SY Quraishi who was the former chief election commissioner of India. Notably, Quraishi is the author of a book titled ‘The Population Myth: Islam, Family Planning and Politics in India’. He wrote in his tweet, “Well done Tabassum!”
Another Twitter handle named @@Gabbar0099 tweeted this image with a caption that said, “‘Tabassum Sheikh’ secured State 1st Rank in 12th Class in Karnataka. Karnataka’s BJP govt banned hijabs in schools and colleges last year, BJP leader called Hijab wearing Muslim girls terrorists and used the media to cook up fake stories to hound, heckle & humiliate them. and now the 12th result which was just announced, a Hijab-wearing Muslim female student Tabassum Sheikh from Bengaluru tops the state!”
NDTV journalist Swati Chaturvedi also joined the bandwagon as she shared the image and wrote in the caption, “Very well done Tabassum, sorry for the harassment you faced & you came through it like a star.”
Advocate Somnath Bharti who writes ‘nothing is greater than humanity’ in his Twitter profile’s display name also shared this image and wrote in the caption, “Heartiest Congratulations Tabassum! There was no better way to shut the mouths of those who want to remain politically relevant only by invoking religious sentiments! Well done!”
RJ Sayema also shared this image.
It is notable that Tabassum Shaik is a student of Nagarathnamma Meda Kasturiranga Setty Rashtriya Vidyalaya, NMKRV in Bengaluru, Karnataka. “I decided to give up the hijab (in college) and pursue my education. We will need to make some sacrifices for education,” Shaikh was quoted as telling The Indian Express.
Tabassum reportedly told the media that she attended all of her classes in a hijab every day up until the court order was issued. Her desire to further her studies and the lessons about respecting the law she learned from her parents led her to decide to stop wearing the hijab.
According to reports, Tabassum’s parents wholeheartedly supported her decision and her pursuit towards her education. Her father Abdul Khaum Shaik told his daughter it is important to “follow the law of the land. Education is more important for the children”.
Tabassum shared that she would follow the orders issued by the government. She would wear her hijab to her college campus and remove it before attending classes. She added that on the day she emerged as a topper, she donned her hijab and met her Principal and no one objected to her decision.
Despite this statement by the girl, so-called liberals on social media insinuated that she was harassed for wearing hijab yet she became a topper.
Last year the Karnataka high court upheld a government order banning religious attire such as hijab or burqa in educational institutions and asked students to follow the dress code of educational institutions. Many Muslim students had taken to the streets to protest against the decision, with many wearing hijab and skull caps to classes while many even boycotting appearing for exams after being urged to adhere to the court ruling. Tabassum Shaik, however, decided to prioritise education over the politicisation of the issue and the ensuing state-wide protests and unrest.

How’d you like to get a letter from a newly married-in family member, telling you all about your ‘racism’ and ‘unconscious bias’?
It’s disgusting, not only to hear it from a not-so-black person who claims to be an expert on blackness, but because such racism probably doesn’t exist, and worst of all, amounts to a sort of mind-reading about intentions that the person on the receiving end knows nothing about, so good luck defending himself. Given that the royal family allowed Markle, a commoner no less, into the royal family circle, and handed her a fancy ‘duchess’ title, it doesn’t sound like a lot of racism to normal people.
But such is wokester power politics, and in this case, the Designated Racist up for cancellation was King Charles.
That’s what he’s had to put up with as the idiot melodrama about whether or not wayward son Harry and his wokester wife, actress Meghan Markle, will be coming to the event.

The Duchess of Sussex has said the suggestion that she is missing the coronation because of a letter she sent to King Charles over racism and ‘unconscious bias’ inside the Royal Family is ‘frankly ridiculous’.
On Friday, it was reported that Meghan Markle wrote to King Charles after her bombshell Oprah interview, and she reportedly named the individual accused of speculating about her unborn son Archie’s skin colour.
It is understood that it was sent in reply to a letter from the King – the only senior member of the family to make contact with the Duchess after Meghan and Harry were interviewed by Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.
A source told the Daily Telegraph that the Duchess will not attend the Coronation on May 6 because she received a unsatisfactory response from the King.
Oh, who the heck cares why she’s not coming, and does anyone believe her anyway when she claims the offensive letter she wrote, coming on the heels of her tell-all Oprah revelations about the supposed racism of the royal family, has nothing to do with why she’s not coming? She’s always been all about public relations, howling about wanting her ‘privacy’ yet doing everything she can to whip up publicity.
Her letter must have given great offense, given that the man on the receiving end is an actual king. You know what they say about striking the king…
While futzing continues about why she’s not coming to the coronation, I’m still amazed at the reported contents of that letter, which was revealed Friday.
What nerve and chutzpah to send such a thing — to anyone, actually — after the unbelievable violation of basic family etiquette in her revealing private royal family conversations to the public for publicity and big dollars. Nobody decent does that, even if their families are peasants.
No wonder Prince Harry, who’s going to this thing, and who will probably be booed for abandoning his royal duties and taking up with a presumptuous, publicity-seeking wokester, only got a small bit of conversational time on the royal schedule from King Charles at the upcoming festivities.

It is understood that Harry was ‘missing aspects of British life’ and ‘may start spending more time’ in the UK.
A source told the publication: ‘Harry was desperate to come back for the Coronation and spend quality time with his family.’
Meghan would probably be booed even more and that wouldn’t be good for Netflix sales, would it?
Both Harry and Meghan sound like those weak, disagreeable characters one can find in the novels of U.K. authors such as Evelyn Waugh, who was a master at satire, or perhaps John Le Carre. These characters thrash about, perpetually frustrated, bewildered and enraged, because they fundamentally do not understand who they are or what they want. Le Carre’s character “Charlie” springs to mind, but there are plenty of others.
In any case, it keeps the royal rumor mills churning and the tabloids — as well as publicity-seeking Meghan — employed. It’s a good thing Charles wanted as little as possible to do with this pair. Chuck may be a little loopy, but he has his limits. Already his judgment as king looks pretty sound.
French authorities have confirmed that they will prosecute three anti-Macron protesters over allegations they gave the embattled president the middle finger.
Two men and one woman reportedly face the possibility of a criminal conviction at the hands of French prosecutors after giving President Emmanuel Macron the middle finger, reports in local media have claimed.
The three are reportedly thought to have fallen foul of a draconian law in the country that forbids statements that “affect the personal dignity or the respect owed to a public official” with the alleged gesture, which is said to have been given while Macron was touring the country earlier in the week in a desperate attempt to regain the favour of the public.
According to a report by BFMTV, prosecutors have claimed that all three individuals — none of whom have previous convictions — have admitted to giving the gesture said to have been directed at the President during his trip to Sélestat earlier this week. They will all face trial in September.
Under the French Criminal Code such an offence carries heavy penalties, including a fine of 15,000 euros and potentially up to one year in prison, according to broadcaster La Chaîne Info.
This is not the first time that authorities have targeted members of the French public for insulting Macron, with another woman falling foul of law enforcement sensibilities after comparing the President to trash on social media.
The woman is said to have been arrested by three police officers who showed up at her home over one of her online posts, which is said to have depicted her in front of graffiti mocking Macron that authorities now say she herself made.
Such a claim is denied by the woman, who now faces a maximum penalty of €15,000 and a year in prison if found guilty of insulting Macron by a French court.
Meanwhile, in the UK, another man thought to have been involved in anti-Macron protests in France has also been arrested under a British anti-terrorism law, sparking outrage both domestically and internationally.
Ernest Moret, a French publisher with left-wing sympathies, was detained shortly after arriving in London by train, with police formally arresting him the following day over claims he refused to surrender his mobile phone and passwords to officers when they demanded he do so.
With this latter example sparking significant outrage internationally, the proceedings against the three Sélestat protesters are likely the last thing President Macron needs right now.
Already on the ropes as a result of ongoing protests in the country, the French leader has started touring his country in the hopes of regaining the favour of the general public, who have turned viciously against their head-of-state over the last number of weeks after he raised the country’s retirement age by two years.
Macron has now seen his popularity fall to its lowest point ever, with barely over a quarter of the country now holding a favourable view of the Jupitarian leader.
Meanwhile, officials on France’s populist right have seen their popularity jump, with polling suggesting that Marine Le Pen would win the Presidency if an election was held in the country tomorrow.

France’s Jewish student union on Friday was locked in a bitter dispute with a far left member of parliament over mutual accusations of violent and intimidating behavior at a public meeting in Paris on Tuesday night that featured a convicted Palestinian terrorist.
A group of activists from the French Union of Jewish Students (UEJF) led by the organization’s president, Samuel Lejoyeux, protested at the meeting, staged by a group of pro-Palestinian NGOs and headlined by Salah Hamouri, a Palestinian with French citizenship who was expelled from Israel last year. Hamouri — a lawyer for Adameer, a Palestinian prisoner organization — was sentenced in 2005 for a plot to assassinate Israel’s then Sephardic chief rabbi, Ovadia Yosef, serving six years in jail before being placed by the Israeli authorities in administrative detention until 2022.
When the UEJF activists confronted Ersilia Soudais — a member of parliament for the far left La France Insoumise (“France Rising” — LFI) party — she accused them of violent behavior and filed a legal complaint. In response, the UEJF filed a legal complaint against Soudais for defamation on Thursday.
In an interview with her party’s website, Soudais claimed that security staff at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris, where the meeting took place, were attempting to remove the UEJF activists just as she arrived at the venue with her husband. She said that one activist had approached her with a raised fist, shouting “your ideas are disgusting,” before her husband stepped in to prevent an escalation. Once the meeting ended, she continued, she left the building through a back entrance where Lejoyeux and other UEJF members were waiting. The group tried to engage her in discussion, she said, but she refused, telling them “I don’t debate with people who assault me.”

European parliamentarians have condemned the UK for arresting a critic of Emmanuel Macron under anti-terror legislation.
Politicians sitting in the European Parliament have written to Home Secretary Suella Braverman about the arrest of French publisher Ernest Moret, denouncing the decision to incarcerate the Emmanuel Macron critic as “unjustifiable”.
Moret was detained by anti-terror police shortly after arriving in London, with officers in the country claiming it was in relation to the Frenchman allegedly attending anti-government protests that have recently taken place in France. Moret was subsequently arrested for refusing to give police his phone passcode.
The detention of the publisher has garnered widespread condemnation both in the UK and beyond, with elected officials from across Europe signing a letter to Suella Braverman denouncing the detention as an assault on free speech.
“The police officers claimed that Ernest had participated in demonstrations in France as justification for this act – a quite remarkably inappropriate statement for a British police officer to make and which seems to clearly indicate complicity between French and British authorities on this matter,” The Guardian reports the MEPs from a variety of countries, including France, Germany, Ireland, Portugal and Spain, as writing.
“We consider these actions to be outrageous and unjustifiable infringements of basic principles of freedom of expression and an example of the abuse of anti-terrorism,” the letter continued.
It went on to allege that the arrest was ultimately undertaken on behalf of Macron’s government, with the politicians describing Moret’s detention as further evidence that France was drifting away from liberal democracy.
“This assault on the freedom of expression of a publisher is yet another manifestation of the slide towards repressive and authoritarian measures taken by the French government in the face of widespread popular discontent,” they wrote.
In response to the letter, the UK Home Office thanked the MEPs for writing to them, adding that the document will be “processed and a response provided in due course”.
Such a theory that the UK government are doing the bidding of the Macron administration has reportedly been backed by politicians sitting in France’s parliament.
“Ernest’s account of his interrogation suggests that the British authorities were really acting on a request, with a script, from the French police authorities, as the questions he was asked concerned exclusively his political and intellectual activities in France,” La France Insoumise politician Aurélie Trouvé remarked regarding the arrest.
Moret’s colleagues and work acquaintances have also come out to blame the French government for the arrest, with one writer who has previously worked with the Frenchman describing it as a “blatant assault on the freedom of expression”.
Although the French government has yet to respond to such allegations, the suggestion that the arrest was at least in part backed by the European nation seems consistent with the current modus operandi of authorities, who have been desperate to restore order to the country amid ongoing protests against the French President.
Sparked by controversial pension reforms the country’s government forced through without a vote, protests have now morphed into a general anti-Macron fervour, with police going so far as to confiscate saucepans from members of the public in areas the French head-of-state is visiting for fear they could use them to make noise aimed at disrupting Macron’s stately activities.
Macron himself has done very little to try and appease the masses, mocking the use of kitchen utensils to disrupt a visit to a French town earlier this week.
German police have arrested a suspect in connection to the stabbing at a gym in the western city of Duisburg, the public prosecutor for Germany’s state of North-Rhine Westphalia confirmed on Sunday.
Four people were injured on Tuesday when a man went on a rampage in a fitness studio in Duisburg’s old town, using a “stabbing or cutting” weapon.
Police arrested the 27-year-old suspect in his apartment in Duisburg on Saturday evening, a police spokesperson said. The public prosecutor’s office confirmed that the suspect has Syrian citizenship.
Duisburg public prosecutor Jill Mc Culler said that police had been looking for the suspect since Friday after inspecting photos from a security camera.
The suspect will be brought before a magistrate’s court on Monday, she added.
According to the current state of the investigation, a 21-year-old man was the apparent main target of Tuesday’s attack. According to the public prosecutor, he was still in a life-or-death situation on Saturday.
Of the three other victims, two 24-year-olds were still in the hospital, but their statuses had stabilized. A 32-year-old had already been released from the hospital.
Authorities had offered a €2,000 ($2,200) reward for any information leading to an arrest.
