When leftists oppose transgenderism, conservatives should listen

By Robert Arvay

When radical leftists oppose transgenderism, conservatives should listen — and learn.

Jennifer Bilek is by no means a conservative.  Quite the opposite — she is a feminist leftist with whom I agree on as close to nothing as I think one can get — except for the contents of her video titled “Who is Behind the Trans Agenda?”  (For example, she refers to Rachel Levine as a “he.”)

Make no mistake: despite what we are encouraged to believe, there is an organized, systematic agenda that, if one does not do the research, is easily dismissed as yet another right-wing conspiracy theory.  Bilek has clearly done the research, and her video is a comprehensive summary of the facts.

Bilek is not the first leftist to recognize this.  Camille Paglia and J.K. Rowling are two of the better known so-called “Trans-Exclusive Radical Feminists — TERFs, which has become a pejorative among “trans-activists” who promote such things as irreversible surgical mutilation of young children who, however temporarily, express gender confusion.

Bilek asks the question that has puzzled many of us on both the (mostly) right and left: from where did this trans phenomenon arise?  Why is it that ten years ago, it was not on the radar, but after that, it was abruptly dropped on us, “fully formed,” as Bilek notes?

Bilek points out that, historically, human rights movements have not exploded on society like that.  They come gradually, over many years, through grassroots forces challenging the institutions of power.  Instead, the impetus for “trans rights” came from the top down, suddenly, from powerful establishments in the medical-industrial complex, motivated by profit and employing the law — the law! — to force compliance.  This is unprecedented.

There is more.  The tech giants did not invent the trans movement; they adopted it for profit.  It was presented to them by an even weirder movement, known as transhumanism.  Putting aside the more spectacular reports about this movement, it is based in technologies such as computer chips that can be implanted in the human body, even in the brain, to modify and control human behavior.  Pharmaceutical and surgical developments also promise huge profits.

As with all technologies, there are unforeseeable complications, often tragic, if one moves too swiftly in implementing them.

Transhumanism, except for its most radical fringe, advocates for not the extermination of humanity, but rather for its modification.

Transgenderism, like transhumanism, is in conflict with human nature, and in particular, it denies dimorphism, the binary reality of the human species, which is divided into two complementary sexes, equal but not interchangeable.  The sexes are, in humans, absolute, not relative, as absolute and asymmetric as are protons and electrons in the atom.  Transsexualism denies this reality, and transhumanism seeks to eradicate it.

Bilek’s video is a wide-ranging tour de force, to which I cannot do justice in this compressed commentary.  Anyone, conservative or otherwise, who would advocate against transsexualism needs to be armed with the information contained in it.

UK: New head of National Education Union accused of ‘inciting violence’ at pro-Palestine rally

screen grab twitter

The new leader of Britain’s biggest education union has been accused of ‘inciting violence’ over a video in which he called on a crowd to “globalise the intifada”.

Primary school teacher Daniel Kebede, who is set to become the head of the National Education Union (NEU) in September, can be seen addressing a Palestine Solidarity Campaign rally in Newcastle, in 2021, in which he says it’s “time to stand together and oppose apartheid, oppose the occupation and fight for Palestinian liberation.”

He went on to say: “Let’s do it for Palestine, Ramallah, West Bank, Gaza – it’s about time we globalise the intifada.”

As he handed over the microphone over, chants of “Allahu akbar” could be heard from the crowd.

Conservative MP for Workington Mark Jenkinson questioned the appointment of Kebede asking on Twitter, where he retweeted the video of the rally, what “became” of the union that “they elect the violence-inciting” trade unionist to replace joint secretaries Dr Mary Bousted and Kevin Courtney.

“The left has a real problem, and good people with their eyes closed get swept along,” he said.

A NEU spokesperson told the JC: “Daniel Kebede was present at a Palestine Solidarity Campaign rally in solidarity with Palestinian facing eviction in Sheik Jarrah in 2021.

“In speaking to the rally Mr Kebede called for peace and justice in the Middle East and expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people.

“He used the slogan ‘globalise the intifada’ which is an expression of such solidarity, and of support for civic protests; it did not convey any support for violence.”

UK: Labour Party deselects 7 Indian-origin, all Hindu councillors in Leicester ahead of May local elections

Representational image via NDTV

Ahead of the mayoral and ward elections in Leicester city in the United Kingdom, the Labour Party has de-selected 7 sitting Indian-origin councillors from contesting the polls on the party ticket.

As per a report by The Times of India, 6 of the de-selected councillors are from the Hindu community. The development comes a month before the scheduled local elections on May 4 this year.

They include Hemant Rae Bhatia (Beaumont Leys), Rashmikant Joshi (North Evington), Rita Patel (Rushey Mead), Nita Solanki (Belgrave), Padmini Chamund (Belgrave), and Mahendra Valand (Belgrave).

Reportedly, the Labour national executive committee (NEC) had decided to field candidates instead of allowing local Labour branches to oversee the process.

While speaking about the matter, councillor Hemant Rae Bhatia told The Times of India, “The way Labour took away the democratic right of branches to select their candidates does not match what Keir Starmer said at party conference, namely that branches are fundamental and democratic units of the party.”

He also lashed out at Leicester’s controversial Mayor Peter Soulsby, who met Islamist Majid Freeman during the anti-Hindu violence in the city. “Hindus and Muslims don’t have trust in Soulsby now. Anyone who challenges how he dealt with the unrest got deselected,” he emphasised.

Bhatia and councillor Rashmikant Joshi have now defected to the Conservative Party. The four other Indian-origin Hindu councillors have decided to contest independently from their respective wards.

Tension in Leicester due to Muslim enclaves and their majoritarianism: Report

The de-selection of the 7 Indian-origin (6 Hindus, 1 Christian) councillors in Leicester is significant in light of the recent revelations of the fact-finding report, presented by the Centre for Democracy, Pluralism and Human Rights (CDPHR) before the UK’s House of Commons.

The report, prepared by activist Rashmi Samant and political analyst Chris Blackburn, highlighted how the Leicester attack on the Hindu community was a direct assault on “democratic institutions and rule of law.”

It noted that the attack on Hindus was a direct fallout of territorial tensions and localised majoritarianism (of the Islamists in East Leicester). The report also found that a concerted attempt was made to defame the Hindu community as ‘Hindutva nationalists’ and nationwide mobilisation outside of Leicester.

“Symptoms of territorial ethnic cleansing were found through the analysis of the different slogans and speeches made by the majority community of East Leicester and the temporary displacement of Hindu community as a result of the unrest,” CDPHR said in its report.

France won’t hand over terrorists to its EU partners as long as they belong to the radical left

Over the past decade, France’s successive left-wing governments have banned or harassed right-wing organizations and individuals without giving evidence that they had resorted to violence or broken the law in any other way.

On the left, however, it has only just begun to act similarly toward violent and law-breaking far-left organizations. The country’s current interior minister now realizes that the authorities are losing control over those groups that had been so useful in making the Yellow Vests protests and other initially peaceful protest movements turn ugly and discrediting them in the eyes of the general public; this is how they then justified police violence of a kind unheard of in other EU countries.

Concerning France’s record of giving shelter to Italian left-wing terrorists, it must be said that Emmanuel Macron himself supported an end to the “Mitterrand doctrine.” Named after François Mitterrand, the Socialist party leader who was the president of France from 1981 to 1995, that doctrine, which was based on a simple pledge made orally by President Mitterrand in 1985, meant that France would not extradite to Italy far-left activists even if condemned in their country for violent acts committed during the “Years of Lead.”

The “Years of Lead” is the name given to a period of political violence in Italy that lasted from the late 1960s until the late 1980s. One of its culminating points was the kidnapping and later assassination of former Prime Minister Aldo Moro by the Red Brigades, a Marxist-Leninist terrorist organization. The bloodiest event was a bomb attack by neo-fascist terrorists that killed 85 people and injured another 200 at Bologna’s central railway station on Aug. 2, 1980.

The right-wing terrorists and violent activists of that dark period were never given shelter by the French socialist authorities, only the communists and other far-left perpetrators.

In an article published in January 2019, Italy’s center-left newspaper Corriere della Sera estimated that there were some 40 terrorists and other Italians with convictions for violent acts committed during the Years of Lead who were still on the run in foreign countries. “And almost all of them have been in France for decades, protected by the ‘Mitterrand doctrine,’” the newspaper noted, adding that although President Mitterrand had said that his promise not to extradite those who had renounced violence would only apply to activists without blood on their hands, many convicted murderers were also protected by France.

The 10 former terrorists whose extradition has now been definitively refused by French judges belong to that last category. On March 28, just after the Paris Court of Cassation’s decision, Il Giornale, like many other Italian newspapers, gave a detailed list of those 10 unrepentant terrorists who shall remain under French protection, with a description of the crimes they have been condemned for in absentia by Italian courts.

Those terrorists include, for example, Giorgio Pietrostefani, now aged 80, who as a leader of Lotta Continua (“Continuous Struggle”), a communist terrorist organization, ordered the murder of police chief Luigi Calabresi in 1972. Another example is Marina Petrella, now aged 69, who as a member of the Red Brigades, was involved in Aldo Moro’s kidnapping in 1978 and also has a life sentence to serve in Italy for the killing of a police officer. Narciso Manenti, another of the red terrorists under French protection, was also condemned in absentia to a life sentence in Italy for the assassination of an officer of the carabinieri, Giuseppe Giurreri, in 1979. Manenti was a member of the terrorist organization Nuclei Armati per il Contropotere Territoriale (“Armed Nuclei for Territorial Counterpower”). And so on, and so on.

Over the years, there have been numerous attempts made by successive Italian governments to obtain the extradition of the left-wing terrorists protected by France. That latest failed attempt was initiated by Matteo Salvini in 2019 when he was Italy’s interior minister.

This is how a major left-wing daily newspaper, Libération, described the situation of one of the former terrorists, Marina Petrella, in an article published last June after the decision by the Court of Appeal in Paris to reject Italy’s extradition requests: “A life in France that has been threatened for over a year, since the entry of the far right in the Italian government. Extradition requests were renewed in 2019 by the far-right former Minister of the Interior Matteo Salvini.”

It should be noted in passing that President Macron only answered positively to Salvini’s request after he and his party were back on the opposition bench and the extradition requests were confirmed by the second government of Giuseppe Conte made up of left-wing coalition partners only.

In April 2021, a group of French intellectuals published an open letter in Libération, calling on President Macron to keep Mitterrand’s commitment toward far-left terrorists, as “in France, only crimes against humanity are not subject to the statute of limitations. To put an equal sign between a homicide and a genocide, to assimilate people welcomed by the French Republic to Nazis hidden by some dictatorship in the Middle East, is to show a relativism that can only delight the negationist circles and their friends of the far right.”

Before those “Magnificent Ten” whose extradition has now been refused by French judges, the French authorities had let Cesare Battisti, a former member of the Armed Proletarians for Communism who had committed several assassinations in Italy, flee to Brazil in 2002 after 14 years of living in France. In Brazil, Battisti benefited from left-wing President Lula’s protection and was even granted the status of political refugee in 2007, but he was later extradited to Italy in 2019 under President Bolsonaro.

In 2008, French center-right President Nicolas Sarkozy blocked the extradition of Marina Petrella on health grounds. Fifteen years later, Petrella seems to have recovered from her condition and has now avoided extradition again thanks to the Paris Court of Appeal and Court of Cassation.

A resolution of the Italian parliament was proposed on March 30 by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s party, Brothers of Italy, but has not yet been put to the vote. If passed, it will ask the government to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg against the decision of the French Court of Cassation and to propose that France resort to the expulsion of the 10 Italian terrorists as persona non grata.

Relatives of victims of the former terrorists who have found a safe harbor in France reacted strongly to the ruling by French judges on March 28, calling it a shame for France. They have called on Justice Minister Carlo Nordio to intervene, asking how France would react if another EU country gave shelter to the perpetrators of the Bataclan massacre in November 2015.

Police chief Luigi Calabresi’s widow, Gemma Calabresi Milite, said about the verdict: “What offends us is the motivation of the sentence, which says it is absurd to put people in jail because today they have rebuilt their lives and have families.”

In fact, the French judiciary has put the terrorists’ right to their private family life above the need to bring justice, and it has also questioned Italy’s ability to ensure the 10 terrorists could get a fair trial in their country, making a mockery of European cooperation and solidarity. After the Court of Cassation’s decision, the League’s leader Matteo Salvini pointed to the fact that France “rejects (migrant) children at the border in the woods near Ventimiglia and holds on to terrorists who should be in jail in Italy.”

Israel has taught the West that life is beautiful even at the foot of a volcano

by Giulio Meotti

The Islamic State once announced that “Israel’s forty years of peace will end in 2022”. “By 2022, Israel will be destroyed,” declaimed Hassan Azghadi of the Iranian Supreme Council for the Revolution, Ali Khamenei’s right-hand man. Hamas Interior Minister Fathi Hamad said the Palestinian Arabs would “liberate” all of Palestine “by 2022”.

It’s 2023 and Israel has never been healthier despite its internal conflicts. This small piece of land slightly larger than Lombardy is the only state whose existence is openly questioned, in the south it has Hamas, in the north Hezbollah and in the middle the Palestinian Arabs, increasingly eager to stab and shoot the Zionists. On the left the only peaceful border: the Mediterranean, where many since 1948 would like to roll over all the Jews. Yet, Israel, in the aftermath of a new wave of terrorism and protests never seen in its history, looks blissful. Israel no longer has existential enemies. Tsahal is the most powerful army in an arc that goes from Marrakesh to Bangladesh.

Israeli society is satisfied, with almost Bulgarian percentages, even when it fills the streets to protest against the justice reform (which paid anarchists turned into a no holds barred circus. A Pew Center poll revealed that 59 percent of Israelis are happy with their country, versus, for example, 33 percent of Americans (not to mention depressed Europeans).

If you compare the fertility and suicide rates of Israel with those of all other industrialized countries, the Jewish State ranks first in the list of life-loving countries. Israel’s Jewish fertility rate is higher than that of all Muslim countries except Iraq and sub-Saharan countries. The number of births to Israeli Jews in 2022 (137,566) was 71 percent higher than in 1995 (80,400). Each year, Israel adds 140,000 new citizens, two percent of the total population. Aliyah, Jewish immigration to the country is experiencing record numbers. Once isolated and besieged in the region, today Israel also has diplomatic ties with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco, all former members of the “rejection front”, and maintains unofficial but increasingly solid relations also with Saudi Arabia, which could be the next to enter into the “Abrahamic Accords”.

The country has abandoned the “land for peace” slogan that has done so much damage to deterrence, from the post-Oslo suicide bombings (1,500 Israeli dead) to the capture of Gaza by Hamas after the withdrawal of the Jews and the expulsion of the Palestinian Authority. Gaza continues to be a thorn in the side with the cyclical launch of missiles (the wars of 2009, 2012, 2014 and so on), but between the Iron Dome shield and Jewish resilience (no kibbutz or moshav on the border has ever asked to pack), Hamas is unable to pose an existential threat. The two historic heads of the organization – Khaled Meshaal and Ismail Haniyeh – are enjoying life in the dunes of Doha, Qatar, while the leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, has to hide underground.

Iran is grappling with an unprecedented internal rebellion, a frightening demographic, civil and social crisis. The then Prime Minister of Israel, Yitzhak Rabin, announced in the Knesset on January 26, 1993: “Iran is a strategic danger to the state of Israel.” Israel has worked to ensure that the ayatollahs never get to the “Allah bomb”, like Pakistan. Hezbollah has an arsenal of 120 thousand missiles, but appears to be in crisis between the economic and social self-destruction of Lebanon and the shortness of breath of its leaders in Tehran. In the future, Israel will perhaps be forced to return to Bint Jbeil, the village that was the scene of one of the toughest battles between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006.

Having overcome the danger of an Islamic revolution by the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt is today a solid ally of Israel. Jordan occasionally raises a loud voice about the status quo and the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, but it’s a kind of western protectorate and Israel has weaponized it. Syria, a country that tried to destroy Israel in 1967 and 1973, no longer exists as a functioning state.

Israel has always had the misfortune of being one of the few Middle Eastern countries without oil and gas wells. Now, Israel’s natural gas production is up 22 percent in the first half of the year as the government plans to ramp up exports to Europe, which is experiencing the worst energy crisis in decades.

The country, which is more than half desert, forever stricken by drought and plagued by water shortages, has become a nation that now produces 20 percent more water than it needs. Israeli organizations such as Mashav and Arava are sharing Israel’s experience, technologies and political strategies with communities near and far suffering from endemic water crises. Suffice it to say that from 1964 to 2013, the Israeli population quadrupled, but water consumption remained unchanged. Today, Israel is a world leader in water treatment and an exporter of sophisticated water management systems.

The boycott and divestment movement still does some damage to Israel’s reputation, especially on American campuses, some Irish or Norwegian city councils, and Western newspaper editorial offices, but it’s essentially small. There are some instances of corporate and government action, such as the decision by the foundation that runs Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to no longer sell its products in Judea and Samaria. And the European Union requires that products made in Israeli settlements be labeled as products of the “West Bank”, not Israel. But other than that, Israel’s normalization in the world is complete.

Of the world’s two hundred countries, over 160 have full relations with Israel, including six members of the Arab League. Of the two dozen that don’t have them, half are Arab countries, but even among those there are gray areas. In 2021, Qatar and Israel signed an agreement allowing Israeli diamond traders to operate in Doha, and Qatari diplomats are the main interlocutors with Israelis in Gaza. Saudi Arabia is a virtual party to the Abraham Accords. Otherwise, it would be impossible to fly with the Israeli airline El Al from Dubai to Tel Aviv in three hours and an Israel Defense Forces representative would not be sent to the Bahraini capital, Manama. And in 2018, then Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu would not visit Oman in a not-so-secret trip.

Those countries that have not come to terms with Israel include Iran, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Pakistan, North Korea, Cuba and Venezuela. Israel will survive even without them.

Sure, Israel faces endless criticism at the United Nations, but since when does the General Assembly, the Human Rights Council or UNESCO have an impact on the conduct of global affairs? Never.

Israelis will survive even without seeing Roger Waters perform in Tel Aviv. Israel ranks twenty-sixth on the Index of Economic Freedom, just below Japan, South Korea and Austria, and just above the Czech Republic, Norway and Germany. By comparison, its neighbors rank much lower: Jordan 69, Egypt 130, Lebanon 154; and Syria, unclassified. The country ranked fourth as the OECD best-performing economy in 2022.

But complacency is a luxury the country cannot afford. This year marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Yom Kippur War. During the holiest Jewish day, while Israeli families sat in the synagogue or at home, fasting and praying, the Jewish State was attacked from north and south and barely managed to free itself from the guillottine. A deep trauma. For hours, in total chaos, the reserves were not mobilized, the Islamic front moved forward without obstacles, Abba Eban evoked a “new Pearl Harbor”. Three thousand Israeli dead. War and Atonement.

No one had taken the Arab states’ troop movements on the channel and the Golan seriously. After the victory out of desperation, the people looked more mature, as after an illness. Since then, the possibility of disappearing, of packing up, has always been in a corner of every Israeli’s conscience. Meanwhile, if you live thre you act as if you were in a normal country. And as Saul Bellow wrote, “in their concern for the decay of civilization and in their pride, Israelis have something to teach the world.”

In recent days the news that Israel has risen to fourth place in the list of the happiest countries in the world. Israel has taught the West that life is beautiful even at the foot of a volcano.

So why do some much needed judicial reforms drive tens of thousands to the streets in protest?

Pakistan warns of ‘serious repercussions’ after UK minister Braverman calls out British-Pakistani grooming gangs

Condemning UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman’s “discriminatory and xenophobic” remarks against Pakistani men, the Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) has warned of the serious repercussions of such comments, media reports said.

The British minister has been accused of “peddling extremist far-right lies” about Pakistanis after she singled out British Pakistani men over concerns about grooming gangs as she accused authorities of turning a “blind eye” to signs of abuse involving young people, Geo News reported.

In a recent interview with Sky News, the UK minister said that the “systematic and institutional failure to safeguard the welfare of children when it comes to sexual abuse” was one of the biggest scandals in British history.

“What’s clear is that what we’ve seen is a practice whereby vulnerable white English girls, sometimes in care, sometimes who are in challenging circumstances, being pursued and raped and drugged and harmed by gangs of British-Pakistani men who’ve worked in child abuse rings or networks,” she had stated.

FO spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, in a press briefing, warned that such comments would give “rise to dangerous trends”.

Braverman had also been warned by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) that sexual predators do not just come from “one background” and that a focus solely on race could create new “blind spots” when tackling child abuse, Geo News reported.

The NSPCC had criticised the UK Home Secretary and expressed its shock at her hatred towards Pakistanis and for singling out Pakistanis.

UK: Children Watch Transgender Adults Strip Naked in ‘Body Positive’ TV Show

Britain’s publicly owned Channel 4 network has debuted a “body positive” television programme in which full-grown adults, including post-operation transgender individuals, strip down naked in front of children to supposedly educate youngsters on different body types.

This week, Channel 4, the left-leaning publicly owned, commercially funded network, began its six-part series Naked Education hosted by Anna Richardson, known for hosting a variety of other body-based programmes including a naked dating show on the same network.

According to a report from the Metro newspaper, the upcoming third episode of Naked Education will feature two transgender men, who might also be thought of as biological females, Finlay Games and Lucian Main. Both have undergone new-age surgery in order to appear more like their preferred gender.

The paper reported that Lucian recently underwent so-called ‘top surgery’ in which female breast tissue is removed in order to mimic the male chest, while Finn has gone under the knife to not only remove the breasts but also to have ‘bottom surgery’, in which doctors craft an artificial penis out of tissue taken from an individual’s arm.

In what is described by the Metro as a “truly powerful moment” both individuals were filmed stripping down to show their naked transgender-modified bodies to an audience of children between the ages of 14 and 16 years old.

“There is so much misinformation around being transgender in general, but especially around gender-affirming surgery and what that is, and why we have surgery. It was so important to show that this isn’t just surgery that we choose, it’s life-saving stuff,” Finn told the newspaper,

“Surgery is more than just the aesthetic changes on the outside, it’s really deep, internal, life-saving changes. I had my surgery quite late in life and I lost all my young years to gender dysphoria and distress, but this surgery has given me a whole new lease of life and I wanted to show that this really does enhance lives.”

In the first episode of the series, which debuted this week, children were ‘educated’ about different forms of pubic hair, with a series of adults taking off their clothes in front of the youngsters to show off their hairy nether regions.

One of the guests who stripped down is a “sex and body positivity” YouTuber, who has produced videos talking about various kink parties as well as reviewing different types of female sex toys such as glass dildos and vibrators, according to the Daily Mail.

As has been the case throughout much of the Anglosphere, children in Britain have increasingly become exposed to near-pornographic material. Last year, a leftist theatre troupe attempted to put on a “Family Sex Show“ in Bristol, which featured nude actors and taught children as young as five-years-old about masturbation and queerness.

Earlier this year, a bondage-themed drag queen show in London came under fire and was ultimately forced to shut down after it was revealed that it was putting on lewd performances for one and two-year-old babies and their mothers.

UK: Local residents protest Home Office plans to house 500 migrants on a barge in Dorset

The British government has provoked a fierce backlash from local residents after announcing plans to house up to 500 asylum seekers on a barge to be docked in Portland, Dorset.

The Home Office has agreed to utilize the Bibby Stockholm barge as a migrant accommodation center, and is reportedly paying the local council £3,500 per person to mitigate the financial burden on local authorities.

It is the first location announced in line with the government’s plan to relocate some of the 52,000 migrants currently living in hotels across the U.K., which is reportedly costing more than £6 million a day, to military bases and disused ferries.

The barge is owned by Bibby Marine Limited, a company that offers floating accommodation described as “luxury living on board.” The Bibby Stockholm barge has 222 bedrooms and can house up to 506 guests. It comes equipped with Wi-Fi, a gym, a bar, a restaurant, and a games room with darts and pool tables.

Local Conservative MP, Richard Drax, has criticized his own government’s decision, claiming the barge has been “dumped on our door” by the Home Office. He refused to rule out legal action against the department.

“Every option’s being looked at including legal action,” Drax said. “We want to get this consigned to the dustbin before anything’s signed. We want to activate ourselves and say, ‘Look Home Secretary, sorry, this is not the right place, can you please cancel this?’”

Drax raised security concerns about housing such a large number of new arrivals together in close proximity and highlighted the area does not have the police resources to handle any problems that may arise.

He also questioned the impact such a move would have on the tourist industry, telling local media, “This is an extremely sensitive area which relies heavily on summer trade, I cannot see how this is going to be anything but detrimental.”

Commenting on the news, conservative broadcaster Nigel Farage tweeted: “500 migrants have arrived at Dover in the last 2 days alone. Rishi Sunak will need many more barges to keep up!”

Local residents, on both sides of the asylum debate, have also expressed their anger at the decision.

One reader of Dorset Live wrote: “This is an abhorrent idea. These people are escaping goodness knows what atrocities & deserve to be housed properly.

“The vast majority will have their asylum applications accepted. Rather than sticking them on a barge we should process their applications in a timely manner. Better yet allow them to work whilst their applications are being considered.”

Another added: “We need to all stand up and fight this lunatic idea before its too late and we lose our only income from tourists. The government are so useless and have systematically ruined our country.”

One local resident approached by Sky News told the broadcaster: “Portland has always been so laid back. I think they’ve chosen it as an easy option but I think you’re going to find a big uproar against this.

Another questioned the lack of public services available to existing residents. “Two doctors’ surgeries here. Those of us who live here now can’t get an appointment for over two weeks.”

“We just don’t want it here really, a lot of the locals,” a third added. “The locals are being forgotten about, the homeless are being forgotten about.”

Any location announced by the government is likely to be met with stiff opposition by locals and their representatives. Major opposition has already been reported to the government’s plan to transform the former air force base of the Dambusters in Lincolnshire into a migrant detention center, a move that prompted dozens of historians to pen an open letter to the Home Office expressing their disgust at the idea; more than 50,000 people also signed a petition in protest.

A ‘transgender’ minister analogizes the Nashville shooter to Christ

By Andrea Widburg

Religion and narcissism are inherently at odds. The former says there is a God. The latter says, “I am a god.” Few things illustrate this better than Micah Louwagie, an ordained Lutheran minister in North Dakota, who claims to be “transgender” and who had some pretty interesting (and repulsive) thoughts about the shooting last week at The Covenant School in Nashville.

Once people have been on hormone treatments for a while, they don’t appear as members of the opposite of their biological sex. Instead, they all have the same epicene presentation: indeterminate voices; rounded, non-gendered faces; and bulky, gelatinous bodies that also avoid easy gender identification. They’re all “Pat,” Julia Sweeney’s brilliant androgynous character from the 1990s, when it was still okay to make fun of “gender identity.”

Micah Louwagie could be a stand-in for Pat. However, based on the short hair, I’m betting that Louwagie is a biological female who, in a saner time, would have been a manly lesbian.

Image: Micah Louwagie.

More significantly, Louwagie identifies as a Lutheran minister. And indeed, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Fargo, North Dakota, has accepted Louwagie as a “transgender” pastor. In that capacity, Louwagie gave a rather amazing sermon this past Sunday.

According to Louwagie, our compassion for those murdered at The Covenant School is misplaced. The real martyrs are transgender people, especially the shooter (whom I will not name, other than to note that she was a biological female with delusions of so-called “transgenderism”).

For Louwagie, an inanimate object is the real criminal, which means that an ideology that is obsessed with and practices violence and a mentally ill woman in thrall to that ideology cannot be at fault for what happened. They are, instead, the real victims:

Instead of focusing on ways this could’ve been prevented, such as gun control, a significant number of people have turned their attention to the shooter’s identity. Instead of focusing on the number one cause of child death in this country is now gunshot wounds. Some folks have chosen to focus on eradicating trans people as a solution because they have been waiting, just waiting, for an opportunity such as this. They have been waiting for a reason, any reason to stoke their hatred.

Marginalized folks, those of us with the least amount of privilege and power, they need those who have more privilege and power than they do to physically place their bodies between them and the people, powers, and institutions that are literally killing them. Yet so often they are betrayed with a kiss, right?

That’s all I could stomach of Louwagie’s sermon, which you can watch here:

As they continued to speak to the small congregation, the pastor went on to compare the Pharisees’ treatment of Jesus to politicians who make laws against drag shows and transgender players in sport – which has become a hot button issue across America.

‘Those leaders were looking for any excuse, valid or not, to crucify Jesus and they found that reason,’ Louwagie said.

As part of the controversial sermon, Louwagie appeared to also draw comparison between the treatment of trans people in the United States with the Holocaust and Japanese internment camps.

Factually, of course, this is all nonsense. When it comes to guns and children’s deaths, for example, she ignores that this is (a) because “children” for these purposes are defined as being under 20, which includes 18- and 19-year-olds who are legal adults, and (b) because many of these older “children” are casualties of inner city crime (especially black-on-black) which has escalated dramatically thanks to the defund the police movement. And when it comes to transgenderism, our entire social, political, educational, and military systems are obsessed with promoting it—and punishing anyone who deviates from accepting modern LGBTQI+++ orthodoxy.

More important than her factual errors, though, is the fact that Louwagie has redirected religion from God and Biblical principles to herself and her emotional needs. People who are religiously conservative look to the Bible first, and then turn to themselves to see if they are aligned with Biblical principles. Narcissists—and transgenderism is the ultimate narcissism because its practitioners take upon themselves the ability to “correct” God’s mistakes—look to themselves first and then shape religious doctrine to their needs.

Since God handed down the Noahic and Mosaic laws, the Judeo-Christian principle is for religion to be aspirational. It raises us up, providing standards of behavior that distinguish us from all other animals. Under leftism’s aegis, though, the Bible exists for self-affirmation.

That fact explains something about Louwagie’s sermon. According to the same Daily Mail article, Louwagie preached to a “small congregation.” Well, no wonder. Why drag yourself out of the house, away from the television, to hear something that you can do at your own home in front of the mirror? “I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and gosh darn it, people should like me.”
