Groomed by Muslim gangs, minced into pieces, fed as kebabs: Read about Charlene Downes who disappeared from Lancashire, UK, 20 years ago

On March 25, 2023, Charlene Downes would have turned 34. She was 14 when she suddenly went missing from her hometown of Blackpool in Lancashire on November 1st, 2003. Downes was feared to be groomed by Muslim gangs and murdered. Her body was allegedly minced into pieces and served as kebabs to customers at a takeaway restaurant in the area.

It is noteworthy that the Lancashire police, probing the case, initially treated Charlene’s disappearance as a runaway teenager but it soon became clear something more sinister had happened to the girl. The police confirmed that Charlene may have been linked to grooming gangs in Blackpool and said that they discovered at least 60 minor girls had been sexually groomed at takeaways in the city.

They arrested two accused Ilyad Albattikh and Mohammed Reveshi, who were later acquitted by the court due to lack of evidence. Lancashire police were chastised for their inept handling of the case.

This heinous case which remains unsolved to this day, served as a wake-up call to how Muslim grooming gangs continue to operate with impunity in the North of England, with the rapists remaining at large, essentially because police are too afraid of backlash for mentioning the ethnic origins of the Muslim male perpetrators.

The timeline of the case

As per media reports, on November 1, 2003, at around 3.35 pm, Charlene was seenon CCTV crossing the road in the town centre.

At 7.15 p.m., her mother kissed Charlene after running into her, and her daughter stated she was heading to the arcade but would not be late. She met her friend and they went to the Carousel bar on North Pier.

At 9.03 pm Charlene was allegedly spotted on CCTV outside a Blackpool bar with a woman wearing a black coat.

Charlene’s family reported her missing on November 2 after she failed to return home.

But, it wasn’t until 2006 that police informed Charlene’s family that she had been murdered and that the case was no longer a missing person investigation.

Days later, the Police announced a major breakthrough in the case. They said that they arrested a 51-year-old man who lived in Blackpool at the time of Charlene’s disappearance. A Lancashire Police spokesman said, that “the man, aged 51, who lived in Blackpool at the time of Charlene’s disappearance, is currently in custody.”

Subsequently, in May 2007, two men namely Ilyad Albattikh and Mohammed Reveshi were tried in court. Albattikh for Downes’ murder, the Mohammed Reveshi for helping to dispose of her body, but the court failed to reach a verdict.

However, the 2007 murder trial was called off due to police mistakes, and the IPCC watchdog decided that the killer may never be located.

A retrial was scheduled in April 2008. At the time of the trial, the court was told the fast food shop owner had “joked” that Charlene Downes had been chopped up and put into kebabs that were sold to the public. However, due to reservations about the evidence produced by Lancashire Constabulary, the accused were acquitted and also paid almost £250,000 each in compensation.

After receiving strong criticism for failing to thoroughly investigate the case, Lancashire police revived the inquiry in 2016 and discovered new CCTV footage showing Charlene walking with her sister Rebecca on the day she vanished. On the 13th anniversary of her disappearance in November, the CCTV footage was finally made public.

Parents of Charlene Downes accuse Lancashire police of mishandling the case

In 2017, her parents, Karen and Robert, vowed to sue Lancashire Police after learning crucial CCTV footage of her last movements was sat in archives for 12 years. The CCTV footage showed Charlene walking with her sister Rebecca on the day she vanished.

The parents lamented that if the footage had been available sooner than the 2007 murder trial, which resulted in the acquittal of Funny Boys kebab worker Ilyad Albattikh for murder and Mohammed Reveshi for disposal of Charlene’s body owing to police error, things could have turned out differently.

“It is unbelievable that they have had that footage all those years and never used it. It is an absolute disgrace and an insult to the memory of my dead daughter. Maybe If the CCTV was shown at the time I could have got justice years ago and put Charlene to rest but now my pain continues,” the aggrieved mother fumed.

“And instead of helping me, the police add to it as they never tell me anything and seem determined to keep me in the dark,” she added.

Karen had asserted that she is taking civil action against Lancashire Police and is seeking damages and a public apology over their handling of the investigation.

The horrifying case garnered a lot of media attention. Despite a lengthy and complex investigation, numerous media appeals and a £100,000 reward offered, the Lancashire police until now, found no trace of Charlene. It also said that there is no suggestion that the arrests of the two Blackpool men are directly connected to Charlene’s murder.

The Lancashire police had said that investigation into the case revealed that she was amongst the many children who were groomed by Muslim gangs operating near the location where she was last seen in November 2003.

In 2011, officers investigating Charlene’s case discovered that at least 60 schoolgirls were groomed for sex by employees of takeaway eateries in Blackpool.

The police thought the case to be like the Rochdale child abuse incident, where they were groomed in exchange for food, drink, and cigarettes. They suspected Charlene was one of the victims too.

A Crimewatch appeal was issued in 2014, and the police announced a £100,000 prize for information.

Lancashire Police detained two men on suspicion of previous sex offences – but not specifically against Charlene – on June 27 2016, as part of their investigation into Charlene’s murder.

Lancashire Police officers have taken over 4,800 witness accounts and explored 10,500 lines of enquiry, yet the case remains unresolved.

The investigation into her case is one of Lancashire Police’s largest and longest-running investigations. Nearly 20 years on, though the UK’s Lancashire police are still no closer to solving her murder, the case has definitely drawn the attention of authorities towards the wider issue of child sexual exploitation by Muslim grooming gangs operating in the region and various others in the United Kingdom.

Inquiry finds over 1,000 children were groomed by Muslim gangs and authorities looked away due to ‘racial unease’

Notably, in July 2022, an independent inquiry into Telford sexual exploitation case revealed how authorities looked away in the matter where over 1,000 children were groomed by Muslim gangs just because of racial unease. The report found that the key agencies investigating the matter dismissed child exploitation as “child prostitution.” They blamed the children for the situation and not the perpetrators.

The independent chair that investigated the case submitted the report on July 12, in which they concluded that the investigating agencies were nervous about the race of the accused and did not investigate the case properly. They added that the youth workers and teachers were discouraged from reporting the offences and exploitation of children. The steps were taken by the authorities to ignore the matter resulted in the exploitation of the children for years.

As per reports, there had been a widespread grooming nexus in the town since 1989. The independent chair found that the men would approach girls while being disguised as taxi drivers or food delivery drivers. Then they would pursue them to be their ‘girlfriend.’ These men would give the girls lifts. They would buy alcohol and cigarettes for them and later pursue them to indulge in sexual activities. The children were made to believe that everything that happened was normal.

Socialism Means a Descent into Death

Image: Hernan Fednan via FlickrCC BY-SA 2.0.

By Philip Crossing

"But I had begun to sense a truth inside myself: if in order to live it is necessary not to live, then what's it all for?"

—Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago

Unless it manages to change course, the West is transitioning toward a socialist utopia.  Since this author defined socialism as a nihilist, spiritual sickness that craves death, and described its stranglehold on America, the symptoms have only escalated.  As Pamela Geller writes, “[t]here are so many historic, unprecedented crimes, crises, etc going on all at once, One is almost in a constant state of intellectual whiplash.”

Socialism is the inevitable conclusion to secular humanism, or Modernism (used here and throughout in its philosophical context) — the civilizational era that is now passing into history.  We happen to be living in a time in which the vitality of our culture’s forgotten, foundational “essentialist” philosophy has finally been exhausted, and our adopted “existentialist” philosophy now exposes us to self-destruction.

The default position of humanity for most of history has been to seek an existential ultimacy, or source of meaning, from within the material universe.  Existence precedes meaning; meaning is contrived from existence.

This identification of the “material,” or nature, as the ultimate “force” of life and reality was lived out in fullness by the ancient Egyptians.  While nature represented the uncontrollable chaotic “chance” that provided creative energy, their gods represented the order and control that bound the universe and provided unity.  The gods, however, were also natural.  The nexus between order and chaos was represented by the tip of the pyramid, and Pharaoh became the mediator, balancing the power of the gods and chaos within his self.  Pharaoh was the ultimate man.

All pagan societies repeat this model to some extent, including our own.  We are increasingly witnessing the superstitious view of nature as an ultimate source of uncontrollable chaos.  The “climate change” cult has become the guardian of a politically powerful dogma, and evolutionism has taken possession of science.  Gaia is now the nature-god of the West, whether openly worshiped or not.

The modern fluid view of human sexuality arises from this view of nature as the all-powerful creative force, in which the very identity of a person is conveniently dissolved into nature-chaos for re-creation.

On the other hand, our culture turns ever more to secular bureaucracies to provide ultimate order, and the bureaucracy itself has begun to believe in itself as the source of reason.  This is a dangerous development, which will eventually lead to Pharaoh declaring himself the ultimate god-man once again.

The roots of this issue run deep within our cultural history.  After the rediscovery of Greek philosophy, the Scholastics attempted to incorporate its dualism into Christian theology.  Subsequently, the “Enlightenment’s” philosophical search for ultimacy began looking inward to human reason.  Initially willing to accede universal ultimacy to a supernatural God (Descartes), philosophers realised that if human reason is the arbiter of truth, then God is no longer necessary (Nietzsche).  Today it is the standard Kantian view that our reason determines truth, with assistance from our experience.

There are two key questions to resolve in the matter of how we “know” things.  First, is materiality all there is, or is there a supernatural?

Second, does ultimacy reside in the “One” (order, grouping, homogeneity, Realism), or in the “Many” (chaos, particularity, “things in themselves,” Nominalism)?

In answer to the first question, Modernist philosophy assumed that nature is all there is.  It therefore became caught up in an insoluble dichotomy regarding the second question.  Within the strict universal boundaries of nature, only the One or the Many can assume ultimacy.  However, choosing either path leads to philosophical self-annihilation.

If ultimate meaning is found within particles, then meaning dissolves into chaos and defies definition.  For example, if individuals determine reality within themselves, then reality can be infinitely chaotic.

If ultimate reality is found in unity, then the meaningful particulars vanish, and there is nothing left to resolve — the “things” that are being defined cease to exist.  For example, if all people determine the same reality in combination (“universal reason”), then there are no individual people, and we all vanish.

The Greeks could not resolve this dualism, and neither could the Modernists, simply because it is an insoluble problem, like trying to make black be white.  Modern philosophy spun its wheels furiously but gained no traction in its question of knowing, and it left us burdened with the fragments of its failure.  It has stripped the person of meaning or intrinsic value in a deceptive way.  Having removed supernatural causation as an option, it then split natural causation between two contradictory sources, jumping between them like Schrödinger’s cat.  If you examine the One too closely, philosophy vanishes and jumps to the Many, and so on, constantly circling the problem.

A civilization without a vigorous philosophy is in trouble.  This miasma has resulted in a culture that has no common source of true knowledge, no reliable causation, no basis for logical premise, no right or wrong, no certainty, and no comprehension of why we are here.  We have come to a point in our history at which we have no answers to any of the fundamental questions of existence, nor even the tools to help us explore them.

This existential struggle between the one and the many manifests itself in society through unbounded authoritarianism on the one hand and unbounded individualism on the other.  The person is left without a God, but when he turns inward for meaning, he hits a wall of infinite relativism that makes no sense.  Turning outward, he hits a wall of corporatism that takes no consideration of his individual reason.  These discordant paths to meaning have resulted in the destruction of the person, and in our cultural nihilism.

With the self now eliminated, there can be no life or meaning either inside or outside the person, as all other selves must ipso facto cease to exist.  The presumption of a real, meaningful person cannot be tolerated, and the sustaining culture adopts socialism as the means of dealing with this dissonance, with the socio-political motivation of reducing all things to sameness or nothingness.

The demented hope which remains is that through annihilation, a new order will arise by chance from the chaos of nature.  The chosen ones, those whose identity challenges cultural norms, will usher in utopia through the destruction of the hated culture, which presumed that there was such a thing as living persons.  A Pharaoh will bring order and meaning to this new world of nature-objects, once recognized as people.  Those objects that defy or deny their nothingness-sameness are eliminated, usually after some production has been forced from them.

Solzhenitsyn suddenly found himself as one of the rejected objects from the Soviet order.  Set apart from utopia, he wakened to the living death that had defined his existence prior to his incarceration.

Following his lead, those of us who are rejected should nurture our living essence amid the creeping death of existential nihilism, and attempt to recall those who are sleepwalking into the darkness of spiritual insanity.

UK: Local Govt Promises to Stop Placing Kids in Care of Paedophiles After Girl Abused by Convicted Molester

West Yorkshire Police

A left-run city council in Britain has vowed that it will never again put a child in the care of a paedophile again after authorities were exposed for doing just that, leading to a young girl being sexually abused for years and ultimately impregnated.

Labour Party-controlled Leeds City Council has been forced to pledge that it will increase safeguards to prevent a repeat of the case of “Ruby”, a vulnerable local girl who was put into the care of a known paedophile by a family court on the advice of the local authority

The scandal was revealed in a report in January.

An outspoken critic of the leftist local government’s handling of the case, Conservative councillor Ryan Stephenson put forward a motion this week to guarantee that such carelessness does not occur again.

Stephenson, who said that he was forced to introduce the measure as a last resort, according to the Telegraph and Argus newspaper, told a silent chamber: “The abuse inflicted on Ruby was both predictable and preventable.”

“A number of us have been pursuing the lessons and responses from this case for over a year now. It didn’t need to come before full council today,” the Conservative councillor complained. “It’s only doing so because there’s been a co-ordinated attempt to block democratic scrutiny.”

The Labour Party-controlled administration’s executive member for children’s social care, Councillor Fiona Venner, attempted to point towards a recent inquiry by Ofsted, which gave Leeds an “outstanding” rating for child services for the second year in a row last May — despite the abuse of “Ruby” coming to light prior to the grading.

“In their recent visit Ofsted didn’t find any serious issues of concern with the safeguarding of children in Leeds,” Councillor Venner insisted, going on to claim that the council and its partners have an “open and reflective culture”.

However, Conservative councillor Dan Cohen said this week that the Ofsted rating should not be used as “a shield to deflect legitimate criticism”.

The local Conservative Party leader, Councillor Andrew Carter, went on to say that he had been “seriously misled” by the local Labour-run administration, accusing fellow councillors of being “more concerned with reputation than what had gone wrong in a very clearly tragic case”.

As a result of Stephenson forcing the debate, all parties within the local council voted in favour of adopting a white paper which said: “This council believes there should be no circumstances in which convicted child sex offenders are given custody of a child”.

According to the report from the Leeds Safeguarding Children Partnership that uncovered the case, a convicted child sex offender was granted legal custody over Ruby despite concerns about his suitability given his history as a paedophile, and nothing was done to stop it.

After being granted custody of the child, he was arrested over allegations of illicit photographs being on his computer, although he was ultimately released without charge for lack of evidence.

The abuse Ruby suffered at the hands of the convicted paedophile was only uncovered after she became pregnant and sought to have an abortion while she was still a minor. As she was still below the legal age of consent — 16 in England — Ruby was referred to social services who later revealed, through testing, that her paedophile guardian was in fact the father.

When interviewed after being saved from her abuser, Ruby said that she hadn’t realised that she was being victimised as it had “always” happened for as long as she could remember.

She also revealed that she was pressured into keeping quiet by her guardian, who threatened to kill himself if she spoke to authorities.

The Safeguarding Partnership, who commissioned the review, claimed that the local council has implemented “significant changes to systems and practice” following the report, and that they were “committed to continually reviewing how agencies in Leeds work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in Leeds.”

Going forward, a report will lay out the measures that the council will put in place to prevent paedophiles from being granted custody of children before the local council, which hopes to use the recommendations to inspire national legislation.

Pro-migrant Syrian activist claims living in German state of Saxony is ‘worse than the Syrian civil war’

The German state of Saxony is one of the most immigration-skeptical states in Germany and known as a stronghold for the Alternative for Germany (AfD), which actively campaigns against mass immigration. However, the fact that such a large share of people in Saxony are generally opposed to foreigners flowing into their homeland is a major point of consternation for the left and the immigrants who want to settle in Germany.

Now, at the start of International Weeks Against Racism, the Refugee Council criticized the German state of Saxony, and in a paper signed by 40 pro-migrant and refugee associations, it called for a radical overhaul in migrant benefits and even voting rights. Many of these organizations are lavishly funded by the German federal government and even local authorities in Saxony.

At the presentation of the paper, a spokeswoman for the Committee of Migrant Self-Organizations, Syrian-born Hamida Taamiri complained about alleged racism in Saxony, according to German news outlet Tag24. She referred to an unnamed Syrian refugee child who claimed she experienced “daily racism at school.” The refugee claimed that “racism in Saxony is harder to bear than the everyday war in Syria.”

Such emotional appeals may be designed to drive support for the proposals being pushed by the array of pro-migrant organizations. The paper calls for an electronic health card granting migrants automatic access to the overburdened German healthcare system, and German language courses should be made available from the first day migrants arrive along with access to the labor market. All this at a time when Germany’s education system is struggling to find enough teachers and dealing with issues related to multiculturalism in the classroom.

In addition, the organizations are also pushing for a right to vote after living five years in Saxony for all migrants, regardless of their citizenship status, which would certainly be a boon for Germany’s left-wing parties.

The paper is also pushing for a range of benefits for migrants, many of who travel through multiple safe countries on their way to Germany. These migrants should be provided housing away from centralized migrant centers, according to the paper, even at a time when Germans are struggling to find affordable homes.

The paper additionally calls for multilingualism to “reduce institutional racism” in the public authorities of Saxony.

The executive director of the Saxon Refugee Council, Angela Müller, described Saxony as potentially a “laboratory for asylum policy.”

Sad News for the ‘Africa-Invented-Everything’ Woke Lie

Vikiçizer, CC BY-SA 4.0 , via Wikimedia Commons

I previously covered a clip in which a clearly British Person of Color™ in absurd-looking ethnic garb parroted the oft-repeated lie, manifesting in various forms, that Africans “basically invented everything.”

This is an indefensible claim for reasons that I explore in the article.

But perhaps the rebuttal doesn’t need to be quite so elaborate. One lonely inconvenient fact calls into question the whole narrative: Sub-Saharan Africa, before European colonization, did not even have the wheel.

This is despite the fact that the wheel was invented in the 4th millennium BC and was pivotal to the economic development of nearly every civilization in every other part of the world. That includes Europe, India, China, and the Middle East.

In fact, pre-colonial African civilizations were aware of the wheel because it was introduced via contact with outsiders but for unexplained reasons did not adopt it even after being handed the technology.

Via Africa’s Development in Historical Perspective

The basis of the modern economic growth that emerged in Britain in the late eighteenth century was technological innovation, and the Industrial Revolution had itself built on a long incremental series of innovations in agriculture, transportation, and elsewhere in the economy. Many of these innovations did not take place in Africa. For example, outside of Ethiopia, no African country innovated the plow. Similarly, systems of writing were largely restricted to the same region, though also encompassing the Sudan and Somalia. Also absent was the wheel. The fact that wheeled transportation was not used in sub-Saharan Africa until the early colonial period is paradoxical because it is well established that African societies knew about the wheel from the early modern period onward. They did not have to reinvent the wheel, only adopt it.

Obviously, the narrative can’t be allowed to proliferate that Africans didn’t use the wheel for some reason other than innovative deficiency. In the YouTube video below, for instance, the narrator makes excuses for why the wheel is overrated and impractical for Sub-Saharan Africa. In it, he claims absurdly that the camel (widely used in Africa for transport) was a “demonstrably superior technology that the people of Europe failed to use.”

But if the wheel is overrated, why is the wheel currently used everywhere in Africa? Why wasn’t it abandoned after decolonization? Why didn’t the Africans throw away the whites’ useless wheel and revert to their pure, indigenous, wheel-free lifestyle?

Could it be that wheels are highly utilitarian? Might the reason Africans continue to use the wheel today, after receiving it from the evil whites, be that it’s actually not just beneficial but actually essential economically?

Via Cambridge:

[In Africa] the high cost of transport by pack animals and human porterage has often been presented as one of the principal constraints upon the expansion of trade, and hence of economic growth generally, in pre-colonial times.

Belgium: Breaking of the fast for Muslims from the LGBTQ community had to be cancelled because threats against the event were posted on social media by Muslims

LGBTQ+ people are still too often looked down upon in Muslim culture. To break this taboo, a “Queer Iftar” was organised at the end of the month at De Roma cultural centre in Borgerhout in Antwerp: an iftar – the meal after sunset during Ramadan – for Muslims from the community. The event was cancelled because the organisers feared for the safety of the participants after numerous hateful comments appeared on social media. 7sur7.be

Church of Sweden archbishop screams ‘Allahu akbar,’ says Muhammad is prophet, successor says Muslims welcome to join

Ärkebiskop Martin Modéus. Foto: Svenska kyrkan/Ikon

This is the last gasp of a dying church (and a dying civilization). A culture that has no identity of its own and welcomes those who wish to conquer and subjugate it is a culture that will soon be a matter of history. These two archbishops are signposts on the way to the demise of the Church of Sweden, and of Sweden itself as a non-Muslim country.

Germany’s federal government goes silent on migrant crisis

In several incendiary letters, German municipalities are raising the alarm about the country’s ongoing migrant crisis and their inability to take in more newcomers, but the pro-immigration federal government has issued no response.

A first warning letter from the Main-Taunus district in the German state of Hessen was sent last month; it highlighted the overload of cities and municipalities regarding housing and care for migrants. In the letter, District Administrator Michael Cyriax (CDU) and 12 mayors called on the federal government to limit the influx of migrants and begin covering the huge costs being incurred by local authorities.

A parliamentary question from the CDU/CSU parliamentary group has revealed that the letter, along with other letters written since then, have received no response from the federal government, reports daily Die Welt.

The letters are not merely being sent from conservative or right-wing parties; many politicians from left-wing political parties are also signing on, including members of the Green, SPD and FDP parties, all of which belong to the coalition government ruling the country. The reality is that a few months ago, 12 out of 16 German federal states said they could no longer accept any migrants due to their local education, housing, and social care services all being overloaded.

Interior Minister Nancy Faeser, known for her fanatical pro-immigration stance, is a member of the Social Democrats. However, that has not stopped SPD politician Alexander Immisch, who is from the same home municipality as Faeser, Schwalbach, from also signing the letter.

As Remix News reported last month, the influx of migrants has helped fuel a serious housing crisis in the country, as local governments turn tents, gyms, and hotels into housing at a time when a majority of the German public is saying too many migrants are arriving.

Although the federal government remains silent on the ongoing immigration crisis, the government noted it had received the letter, writing, “The federal government has taken note of the letter.”

“We are disappointed that a bipartisan concern is not being heard and understood by the federal government,” District Administrator Michael Cyriax (CDU) said. “I ask the federal government to take note of the problems and not pretend that municipalities that complain don’t have a handle on the situation.”

In the letter, the mayors point out that there is hardly any space left for the migrants coming in and that every week, 36 more migrants are assigned to their district for accommodation. The district is renting out hotels in response, but that is turning out to be unsustainable.

“We are avoiding homelessness, but we are far from the goal of successful integration,” says Cyriax. “It’s not just about housing, the problems are more ramified: there are not enough staff in the schools and the authorities.”

The mayors and politicians behind the letter are calling for more deportations, but Germany is notoriously lax when it comes to the issue. At the EU level, only 21 percent of people slated for deportation are actually deported back to their country of origin. In Germany, even those who have committed serious crimes as refugees are not forced to leave, and in many cases, they commit further crimes.

“I know that deportations are a sensitive issue. But the traffic light (government) has agreed to the coalition agreement to support the states more strongly in deportations. Deportations would ease the situation in shared accommodations,” says Cyriax. “We want to help the people who need our help, but we can’t help everyone who somehow makes it to Germany.”

As Remix News previously reported, a number of prominent Green Party politicians sent a similar letter earlier this month. However, their letter has also not received a response from the government.

Faeser, who is greatly responsible for protecting the country’s borders, is being lambasted for failing to address the crisis.

“You expect a federal interior minister to respond to the cries for help from those responsible on the ground and not ignore them,” said CSU member of parliament Müller.
