India: Suicide squad videos in devices of two arrested IS men from Bengal keep sleuths worried

Kolkata Police Headquarters, https://www.kolkatapolice.gov.in/

Certain videos and still photographs relating to the activities of the suicide squad modules of terrorist outfit Islamic State (IS) have been recovered from the laptops and mobile phones of the two recently arrested IS activists, Mohammad Saddam and Syed Ahmed from West Bengal’s Howrah district.

After raiding their respective residences in two different locations in Howrah district, the STF sleuths also recovered some additional electronic evidences and paper literatures, which also had contents about the suicide squad module activities.

Mohammad Saddam and Syed Ahmed were arrested on Saturday afternoon by the sleuths of the Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police while the two were on their way to attend a secret meeting at Khidirpur area in Kolkata. Earlier, the STF sleuths recovered from their devices, crucial clues on how the two, especially Mohammad Saddam, used to contact his IS handlers in Syria and Saudi Arabia using the Telegram Web medium.

City police sources said that the recovery of such crucial clues, especially the ones related to the videos and still photographs about the activities of the suicide squad modules of IS have kept the investigating sleuths worried.

The agencies are now mulling two possibilities, the first being whether these videos, still photographs and paper literature were used to circulate among the local youths to brainwash them into joining the banned terrorist force.

This possibility, according to city police sources, is also quite high considering that duirng interrogation both, Mohammad Saddam and Syed Ahmed, have admitted that they were responsible for brainwashing youths to join the IS and also arrange funds to spread their network in the state.

However, there is a second possibility that the investigating sleuths are probing about following the recovery of the documents related to the suicide squad module activities and that is whether the banned outfit has any plan to conduct similar suicide attacks in West Bengal.

Both the arrested activists are learnt to be extremely tech- savvy. While Mohammad Saddam is a qualified engineer, Syed Ahmed is a student of mechanical engineering at Aliah University. The latter was introduced to the terrorist model by Saddam.

India: Co-education is swaying Muslim girls away from Islam, claims Muslim bigwig

screen grab twitter

On Sunday (January 8), the President of the Jamiat-Ulema-i-Hind, Maulana Arshad Madani, courted controversy for claiming that co-education is leading to ‘apostasy’ (renunciation of Islam) in Muslim girls.

He made contentious remarks during the executive committee meeting of the Islamic organisation. “It has been started against Muslims in a planned way, under which our girls are being targeted,” Maulana Arshad Madani was quoted as saying.

“If immediate and effective measures are not taken to prevent this temptation, the situation may become explosive in the coming days and this temptation is being strengthened due to the co-education system,” he remarked.

“And that is why we opposed it, and then the media presented our point in a negative way and advertised that Maulana Madani is against the education of girls, while we are against co-education, we are not against girls’ education,” he brazened it out.

While calling for segregation on the basis of both gender and religion, the chief of JuH said, “If we have to defeat this silent conspiracy and achieve zenith of success, then we have to establish separate educational institutions for our boys and girls.”

In a tweet on Monday (January 9), Arshad Madani claimed, “This game of religious extremism and hatred will destroy the country: Muslims are being politically and educationally marginalized.”

“Save Muslim girls from the temptation of apostasy, Muslims must open their schools and colleges,” he further added, suggesting that co-education and mingling with people of other Faiths are bad.

In July last year,  two warring factions of the Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind (JUH) announced their plans to join hands to fight ‘rising communalism’ and supposed ‘discrimination’ against Muslims in India.

The Islamic organisation had pinned the blame on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its members for fanning religious fanaticism and insulting religious leaders (an indirect reference to the Nupur Sharma case).

Another year, another round of global warming doomsday predictions that never came to pass

By Jack Hellner

No matter how far the predictions are off, the sycophants in the media will continue predicting the talking points that the science is settled and continue their support for the destruction of industries that produce reasonably priced and reliable energy.

From the following article at Roseville Today:

Heavy rains, big snow along with power outages, overflowing rivers and high winds rocked Northern California to end 2022 in dramatic fashion. A healthy dose of hydrologic optimism has eased concerns for the moment of dire predictions for a dry winter. The season is off to a strong start with more rain and snow on the way for early 2023. Hope remains strong for replenishing California’s 10 largest reservoirs this spring.

So the dire predictions were for a dry winter and the storms seem to be never ending. Thank goodness the climate is and has always been cyclical and natural. The reason the Earth has so many deserts and so much water is because we have always had floods and long droughts. It has nothing to do with our driving gas-powered vehicles. Mother Nature is much more powerful than humans. (Is it acceptable to use the term ‘mother’ or is that offensive?)

How many dire predictions have to be 100% wrong before the media starts doing their job to ask questions and do research instead of just repeating what they are told? There certainly have been a lot of them…

18 Spectacularly Wrong Apocalyptic Predictions Made Around the Time of the First Earth Day in 1970, Expect More This Year

There is no answer for this question because most journalists seem intent on infecting the U.S. with radical leftist policies to destroy our way of life.

The CBS news show, 60 Minutes, had Paul Erlich on recently to again warn that we would all die soon.

Why does anyone think Erlich is a valuable expert? Anyone who thinks 60 Minutes is a purveyor of the truth is confused.

Here are some of the previous dire predictions of Erlich and others that were 100% wrong, according to the AEI’s Mark Perry.

4. “Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make,” Paul Ehrlich confidently declared in the April 1970 Mademoiselle. “The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.”

5. “Most of the people who are going to die in the greatest cataclysm in the history of man have already been born,” wrote Paul Ehrlich in a 1969 essay titled “Eco-Catastrophe! “By…[1975] some experts feel that food shortages will have escalated the present level of world hunger and starvation into famines of unbelievable proportions. Other experts, more optimistic, think the ultimate food-population collision will not occur until the decade of the 1980s.”

6. Ehrlich sketched out his most alarmist scenario for the 1970 Earth Day issue of The Progressive, assuring readers that between 1980 and 1989, some 4 billion people, including 65 million Americans, would perish in the “Great Die-Off.”

12. Paul Ehrlich chimed in, predicting in his 1970 that “air pollution…is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone.” Ehrlich sketched a scenario in which 200,000 Americans would die in 1973 during “smog disasters” in New York and Los Angeles.

13. Paul Ehrlich warned in the May 1970 issue of Audubon that DDT and other chlorinated hydrocarbons “may have substantially reduced the life expectancy of people born since 1945.” Ehrlich warned that Americans born since 1946…now had a life expectancy of only 49 years, and he predicted that if current patterns continued this expectancy would reach 42 years by 1980, when it might level out.

Erlich is an idiot. And anyone who keeps citing him as an ‘expert’ is a bigger one.

German prosecution mulls lifting immunity of Finance Minister Lindner

The Berlin prosecutor’s office is considering a request for the suspension of German federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner’s (FDP) parliamentary immunity in connection with the politician’s real estate purchase, German news portals reported on Monday.

The corruption department of the Berlin prosecutor’s office stressed that a waiver of immunity would be a “routine step” only necessary to launch a formal investigation, and would not mean that a so-called initial suspicion was established. They added that a decision on whether to request the waiver of immunity would be made shortly.

The authority is interested in Lindner’s property purchase in connection with a report in the news magazine Der Spiegel in October.

The leader of the liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP), the smallest member of the coalition federal government, bought a family home in the upmarket Nikolasse district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf in Berlin with a loan from a private bank based in Karlsruhe.

As finance minister, he wrote a toast in May 2022 to mark the centenary of the bank’s founding. In the text, he did not mention that he was one of its customers. A little over a month later, he took out another loan from the bank, for which he registered a mortgage on the property worth €450,000.

According to reports, the minister may have broken the law if the second loan was linked to the anniversary toast. The politician may be investigated on suspicion of obtaining an undue advantage and the bank on suspicion of also providing an undue advantage.

Lindner’s lawyer said that the politician had started to arrange the financing of his residential property well before he took up his ministerial post in December 2021 and that the terms of the transactions were in line with market conditions. The lawyer also argues that a short toast to the anniversary of the founding of a bank was part of his job as minister.

Confidence in Scholz, state institutions in freefall

Not popular: Olaf Scholz. Wikipedia

The trust that Germans have in their political institutions is at an all-time low. The values are particularly catastrophic compared to the previous year. Within a year, the decline noted is simply huge.

Under Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), state institutions in Germany experienced an enormous loss of trust.

At 33 and 34 percent respectively, only a third of Germans still trust the institutions “Federal Chancellor” and “Federal Government”. This corresponds to a decline of 24 or 22 percentage points compared to 2022. The parliament – the German “Bundestag” – is also losing a lot of support: Only 37 percent trust it. That is a minus of 13 points.

Confidence is even dwindling in the institution of a Federal President

The Forsa Society for Social Research and Statistical Analysis came to these conclusions after an extensive survey.

It has been conducting what is known as the “Institutions Trust Ranking” in Germany for 15 years. This year, the opinion research institute interviewed 4 003 Germans on behalf of ntv/RTL.

Traditionally, Germans place a lot of trust in the institution of the “Federal President”. But even here a decline of twelve points to 63 percent was recorded. A survey by the German Civil Servants Association had previously come to a similar conclusion. According to it, only 29 percent of Germans still trust the state.

Loss of confidence in the East particularly strong

Confidence in the “European Union” (31 percent) and “political parties” (17 percent) has also plummeted – in both cases a decline of seven points each was registered. Confidence in eastern Germany is particularly low. Even the “Federal President” is only trusted by 53 percent of respondents. In the West it is 65 percent.

Only 20 percent trust the “European Union” (West: 33 percent) and “political parties” did very badly, with only eleven percent placing any trust in them.

Economic outlook becoming dismal

Experts expect a further increase in the number of insolvencies in the coming months. Prominent examples such as the department stores’ chain Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof, the toilet paper manufacturer Hakle, the furniture manufacturer Hülsta and the car supplier Borgers could be harbingers of a growing wave of bankruptcies.

In addition to higher energy costs, supply chains remain under pressure and consumers may be reluctant to spend because of inflation.

There is another trigger for bankruptcies increasingly coming into focus: rising interest rates. They make loans more expensive and thus threaten not only companies in sectors that have been problematic for years, such as retail, but also those that have significantly increased their debt in recent years.

In view of the permanently friendly economy, banks and other financiers were extremely generous. Moreover, the record low interest rates made it possible to borrow money at almost zero cost.

According to data from Barkow Consulting, companies were still paying 1,5 per cent interest for a five-year loan a year ago. By mid-December, it was around four percent.

The drastic increase in financing costs is likely to leave its mark on highly indebted companies in particular. In a recently published study, the rating agency Standard & Poor’s predicted that the rate of loan defaults among European companies could be more than twice as high as a year ago. In Germany, 14 700 companies filed for insolvency in 2022, according to Creditreform data.

Hijabs and Jumpsuits for female crew members included in British Airways’ first uniform change in 20 years

At a time when women in Iran are protesting against the Islamic regime for imposing restrictions on women, including the mandate on the veil, British Airways, the United Kingdom’s flag carrier airline rolled out its first uniform change in 20 years, offering a hijab option to its female cabin crew members.

According to the statement released by British Airways, dress, skirt and trousers options will be available for women and jumpsuits are available for the first time. A tunic and hijab option has also been created. Meanwhile, the men’s cabin crew will be able to choose from a tailored three-piece suit, with regular and slim-fit style trousers.

The global airlines, in a statement, said on Friday that the collection of garments, designed by British fashion designer and tailor Ozwald Boateng OBE, will be worn by more than 30,000 of the airline`s colleagues from Spring 2023. The collection features a tailored three-piece suit for men with regular and slim fit style trousers and dress, skirt and trouser options for women, as well as a modern jumpsuit, which it termed as an airline first. A tunic and hijab option has also been created for the global carrier.

Sean Doyle, the Chairman and CEO of the global airlines said, “Our uniform is an iconic representation of our brand, something that will carry us into our future, representing the very best of modern Britain and helping us deliver a great British original service for our customers. From the very start, this has been about our people. We wanted to create a uniform collection that our people are proud to wear and with the help of more than 1,500 colleagues, we are confident that we have delivered this.”

The airline said that Boateng has been developing the collection since 2018 with care. He shadowed a number of airport roles to understand how the uniform needed to perform for each job and ensure a modern British, stylish look with high quality, resilient fabrics that are easy to care for.

More than 1,500 colleagues across the airline took part in 50 workshops to help ensure the garments’ suitability, from design workshops to prototype feedback and garment trials, helping create an iconic collection that will stand the test of time, the statement added.

The items have also been put through six months of secret trials. According to reports, the cabin and flight crew tested their new uniforms on cargo flights around Europe while the engineers tried them on at Manchester and Cotswold Airports.

Designer Ozwald Boateng says wanted to give something that ’empowered’ the British Airways crew

Meanwhile, speaking about his creation and inspiration, Boateng said, “Designing this uniform was a vast and painstaking undertaking and it went far beyond clothes.”

“One of my main objectives was to create something that spoke to, and for, the airline’s colleagues. Something that inspired and empowered them, encouraged them to conduct their roles with pride and most importantly to ensure that they felt seen and heard,” said the fashion designer.

The new uniform unveiled by the global airlines did not, however, receive a very positive response from social media users who called the outfits regressive, out of date and frumpy, bland and boring.
