Mild weather thus far saving Europe from an energy crisis

Countries across Europe are currently experiencing warmer-than-expected weather for the first few days of the year. Experts say that even if an energy crisis has been averted for the moment, cold weather or supply delays could still create an upheaval further down the line.

After supplies of gas and oil from Russia to Europe fell sharply in the aftermath of the war in Ukraine, Europe had braced itself for high energy prices and a harsh winter. But a number of different factors, including milder than expected weather, seem to be mitigating the crisis.

According to Bloomberg, various factors, including clement weather, alternative gas suppliers, efforts to curb demand and sufficient gas reserves, are playing a role in keeping prices relatively stable.

According to Scientific American, Europe’s weather stations recorded their highest January temperatures ever on the first day of the year.

Climatologist Maximiliano Herrera told the newspaper that Germany alone broke almost a thousand records in the first days of the new year. All of Europe saw thousands more records being broken and Herrera described the hot weather as “probably one of the most intense ever seen”.

France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands experienced the mildest weather, while Luxembourg, Poland and Belarus also broke local records. Herrera said some weather stations showed temperatures that were higher than average for the month of July. London-based meteorologist Scott Duncan pointed to several factors, including an ongoing La Niña, that parts of the North Pacific and Mediterranean are unusually warm and, of course, “climate change”.

“Our warming of the atmosphere and oceans ultimately makes it easier to break temperature records, and that undoubtedly played a role,” Duncan told Scientific American via email.

Enough reserves?

According to Fortune, the world’s largest energy customers now have enough reserves to feel at ease. Germany, through a combination of warmer weather and lower activity over the weekends, has increased its gas stocks to over 90 percent full. At the same time, gas storage throughout Europe is 84 percent full – that’s well above the five-year average of 70 percent, according to Fortune.

This is because the EU has managed to reduce gas demand, develop new liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities and import more fuel from the US and Qatar, according to Newsweek. Industry in the EU has reduced its consumption by a fifth without significantly reducing its production, Henning Gloystein, head of energy, climate and resources at Eurasia Group, told the newspaper. Gloystein added that warmer weather and higher costs have caused households to moderate consumption.

Experts said the worst-case scenario would be a “super cold winter” in Europe. Adam Pankratz, a professor at the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia, pointed out to Al Jazeera that Europe lacked access to its own natural resources.

“The worst economic scenario is that the European economy goes into an absolute free fall… because they can’t produce anything, because it’s too expensive… and the government prioritizes using gas to heat people’s homes instead of for industry,” Pankratz said.

“The second worst scenario is that you actually run out of gas and people can’t heat their homes, but I don’t see that as a likely event,” he added.

Experts have warned that higher electricity bills, rising unemployment and an economic slowdown could lead to people taking to the streets to protest. Pankratz added that Europe’s problem was that it did not have enough time.

“Saying you need an LNG import facility or a nuclear reactor in a few years is like saying you need it tomorrow morning… It has to happen very quickly, and these things are very complicated,” he added.

Economic meltdown averted?

Optimists maintain that the current conditions, if they continue to prevail, would moderate inflation and stabilize economic conditions.

“The danger of a complete economic collapse, a meltdown of European industry, has been – as far as we can see – averted,” German Economy Minister Robert Habeck told Bloomberg.

“We are very optimistic, which we really weren’t last fall,” Klaus Mueller, head of Germany’s gas network authority, said on Friday. “The more gas we have in the warehouses at the beginning of the year, the less stress and expense we will have to fill them again for next winter.”

Experts, however, told Fortune that fuel prices could soar and that stocks could be depleted due to cold weather in late winter. The networks must also start planning for next winter while taking into account the lack of Russian supplies.

What does La Niña signify?

The La Niña climate pattern in the Pacific Ocean can impact weather worldwide. During La Niña, trade winds blowing along the equator are stronger than usual and push more warm water toward Asia. These shifts push the jet stream northward. During La Niña winters, the northern hemisphere may see frequent cold air outbreaks and heavy snowfalls.

This year’s winter, as indicated by the seasonal predictions from various climate models and statistical approaches developed at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, abnormal warming will very likely cover most parts of Europe under the control of the North Atlantic Oscillation and the anomalous anticyclone near the Ural Mountains, despite the cooling effects of La Niña.

However, how the climate will evolve in Europe is still subject to some uncertainty, mostly in terms of unpredictable internal atmospheric variability.

The WEF, hate speech, and virtue signaling

Sheila Jackson Lee, public domain.,wiki

By Eric Utter

Vera Jourova is the current vice president of a body ironically called the “European Commission for Values and Transparency.”

Recently, while speaking at a World Economic Forum (WEF) panel, Jourova stated that the United States will “soon” have “illegal hate speech laws.” (Hate speech laws themselves should be illegal, and, in fact, are in the United States, due to protections afforded Americans by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Unfortunately, this hasn’t deterred Democrats, wokesters, and other would-be authoritarians from trying to ban speech they find distasteful and/or against their interests.)

The Daily Caller recently reported that Jourova “participated in Tuesday’s WEF panel on ‘the clear and present danger of disinformation,’ alongside former CNN Host Brian Stelter, Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Seth Moulton, New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger and media executive Jeanne Bourgault.”

Stelter and Sulzberger on a panel bemoaning “disinformation?” That would be akin to putting Michael Moore and Joy Behar on a panel chronicling the evils of obesity. Would the WEF ask Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping to head a panel on international relations and “how to treat one’s neighbors?” On second thought, in United Nations fashion, it probably would.

No sooner had Nostradamus ECVT vice president Vera Jourova predicted that the U.S. would soon embrace hate speech laws, than Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) came along and proved her right. Jackson Lee just introduced a bill in the House dubbed the “Leading Against White Supremacy Act of 2023,” or LAWS Act. Get it?

Jackson Lee’s bill would criminalize “hate speech that vilifies or is otherwise directed against any non-White person or group.” (Hate speech that vilifies white people would still be perfectly acceptable as it’s not hate speech. Duh.)

Her bill, were it to become law, would certainly be used by Democrats, the Deep State, social media giants– and others aligned with them– as a pretext and excuse for the persecution of people who express views that they dislike. Those in power would label anyone who engages in such speech as “white supremacists,” “far-right ideologues,” “insurrectionists,” and “terrorists” who must be prevented from destroying “our democracy.” Of course, were her bill to become law, that actually would destroy our democracy.

Jackson Lee would be wise to consider changing her last name as it is an amalgam of Andrew Jackson’s and Robert E. Lee’s last names, both sons of the South and personae non gratae in 2023. But she is anything but wise and has proven that repeatedly over the years. She supposedly/allegedly once asked a NASA employee if she could see the flag Neil Armstrong planted on Mars. (Today the only flag that would be approved to be planted on another planet would be that of the LGBTQIIA+ community.)

Mars or the moon, what does it matter? No big whoop. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) was never of our world anyway.

And our rulers in the WEF? They want to rule the Earth (and probably the cosmos, too). Which will be much easier to do if its population is closer to that of Mars and the moon.

As John Kerry said, “When you stop and think about it, it’s pretty extraordinary that we select group of human beings, because of whatever touched us at some point in our lives, are able to sit in a room and come together and actually talk about saving the planet.”

“Talk” being the operative word, as they fly around the world on private planes and are chauffeured in limousines. Talk about baseless virtue signaling! They consider themselves public servants, and planet servants. “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for,” they shout, though most of them didn’t invent anything and never ran a business that produced goods and/or services– or employed people to everyone’s benefit. Yet they believe there is no end to their brilliance, service, and sacrifice.

Let me offer them some advice: get over yourselves.

And don’t try to tell us how to live.

Turkey summons Swedish ambassador over planned Quran burning protests near Turkish embassy in Sweden

Rasmus Paludan (Image via Twitter)

On Friday, January 20, Turkey summoned Sweden’s ambassador over an upcoming event wherein the protestors are planning to burn Quran.

Rasmus Paludan, a prominent Danish-Swedish politician from the Danish party Stram Kurs (Hard Line), reportedly obtained permission from the Swedish Police to burn a copy of the Quran near the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm.

In a video posted by Rasmus Paludan on his Instagram page, he claimed that he has received permission from the Swedish Police to burn Quran at 1 PM on Saturday, January 21, outside the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm. He said that the burning of the Quran will be a “great manifestation of freedom of speech and criticism against Islamist Erdogan (Turkish President).”

Reacting to Paludan’s post, Turkish officials summoned Ambassador Staffan Herrstrom to the Foreign Ministry to condemn the protest calling it a ‘hate crime’ and ‘provocation’.

This, however, is not the first time that Rasmus Paludan is planning to burn the Quran. In May last year, Paludan claimed to have burned the Quran outside the Raslatt Mosque in Sweden’s southern city of Jonkoping despite Swedish police denying permission for it.

Earlier last week, Turkish authorities summoned Sweden’s ambassador, in response to a recent protest in Stockholm where pro-Kurdish protesters hung an effigy of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Now, he has been summoned again over this planned Quran burning in Sweden.

Notably, In May last year, Turkey raised an objection against Sweden’s bid to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). Turkey held that Sweden had not taken action against exiled Kurdish ‘militants’. After the Ukraine-Russia war broke out, Sweden, in May, announced that they, along with Finland, would apply for NATO membership, ending 200 years of military nonalignment. However, a new member can only be inducted into NATO when all 30 member countries agree upon it.

In recent years, Sweden has taken in hundreds of thousands of Middle Eastern refugees, including ethnic Kurds from Turkey, Syria, and Iraq.

Guerrilla Information War

“There is something wrong with a regime that requires a pyramid of corpses every few years.” George Orwell

We have the receipts: New York Times headlines from the 1930s prove the left has always made promises of progress, but only delivered death.

Do you ever feel like you’re seeing history repeat itself and yet you cannot wake people up to the danger? This can be maddening at times, especially when you look back at records from the period before WWII, and you see the same themes, propaganda, and lies. Meanwhile, the fascist far-left — the party of projection — keeps up with their constant barrage of BS.

They must do this because deception is the only way they can attain power. Dividing people by sowing chaos and confusion until they can consolidate enough control. Getting to a point where they can control free speech and punish those who dare speak outHorrifying, and we’re almost to that point now.

They have lies that make no sense like modeling the entire political spectrum as “Liberal-Conservative”; claims that fascism belongs on the “far right” or that anarchism belongs on the “far left.” Repeating the same lies until they can bluff their way into pretending it’s the truth.

They won’t have a straight answer if you ask how one would place a totalitarian ideology on the pro-freedom side of the political spectrum that values liberty and limited government.

As will be the case if you ask how an ideological concept that means “no ruler” would sit alongside an ideology based on a dictatorship with centralized, totalitarian control.

If they push the absurd “Liberal-Conservative” political scale, ask them if Stalin was a liberal. Then watch as they tie themselves up into knots with bizarre excuses about the political spectrum being a ‘horseshoe’ or ‘ring’ shape for absolutely no reason.

Repeating history.

Modern civilization has gone through the same horrible events either because of the outright lie that “socialism has never really been tried before” or this time it’s going to be different because the fascist far-left is “saving the planet.”

No one wants to take the time to learn the hard lessons of history and what not to do. Put a bunch of fascist far-left megalomaniacs in charge of the economy and the world? No problem! Just don’t ask them about chromosomes and or to define what a woman is.

That worked out so well the last time we tried it, with millions dead, and utter devastation around the world.

Each time the sequence starts the fascist far-left takes over, asserts tight control, and then starts piling up bodies like cordwood. It doesn’t matter if it’s for the cause of Lebensraum or reducing the population to ‘save the planet’ from global cooling (or was that global warming this week?).

There is something seriously wrong with an ideological cult that worships nationalism or internationalism interchangeably and death, “Patria o Muerte” (“Homeland or Death”).

History always repeats itself because it’s based on the same human frailties and motivations.

See if you pick up some of the glaring similarities between what is happening in Davos with the WEF, and the last time, the fascist far-left tried one of their grandiose schemes of Utopia.

Start with this glowing report on Italy’s “Corporative State” from World Problems in Review, April 1927:

Fascist Italy is on the eve of making a daring social experiment—that of bringing into being the so-called Corporative State. To understand this experiment, it is necessary to keep in mind what constitutes the foundation of the Fascist doctrine, which may be thus defined: (a) The interests of all classes must be subordinated to the supreme interest of the State; (b) The interests of the employers, as much as those of the men, must be subordinated to the interests of production; (c)

The State has the right and the duty to intervene and to regulate all these interests. The individual is thus to be absorbed in the Corporation and the Corporation in the State. The new system is not yet in operation, but almost all the preparations for the experiment have now been made.

Everyone wasn’t exactly pleased with this ‘daring social experiment’ at the time. William Green, President of The American Federation of Labor condemned the growing autocracy and enslavement in the socialist nations of Russia and Italy, published in the 1927-06 edition of Current History:

The Charter of Labor promulgated by the Italian Government on April 21, 1927, indicates that Premier Mussolini has not abandoned his Socialist philosophy.

The world is watching with apprehension the performance of autocratic government in two countries, Russia and Italy. Regardless of what group may constitute the autocracy, the substitute of State control for voluntary institution means loss of freedom.

Remember that fascism is socialism with a capitalist veneer. People can own private businesses, but they are tightly controlled by the state.

Under fascism, the state, through official cartels, controlled all aspects of manufacturing, commerce, finance, and agriculture. Planning boards set product lines, production levels, prices, wages, working conditions, and the size of firms. Licensing was ubiquitous; no economic activity could be undertaken without government permission.

Collectivist ideologies are variations of the same societal slavery. These public/private partnerships as we call them now were epitomized by the definitional relationship between the government and corporations promulgated in the La Carta del Lavoro (Labor Charter) of 1927 and in particular one part of section VII:

L’organizzazione privata della produzione essendo una funzione di interesse nazionale, l’organizzazione dell’impresa è responsabile dell’indirizzo della produzione di fronte allo Stato.

Translated this reads: “Private organization of production being a function of national interest, the organization of the enterprise is responsible to the State for the direction of its production.”

Far-left fascists always conveniently forget these historic facts and base their facile assertions on a bunch of made-up subjective criteria; then they just say those subjective criteria apply to whatever the freedom community happens to be doing at the moment.

Meanwhile, they regurgitate the same old lies to trap a new generation into societal slavery.

Do any of the following far-left themes sound familiar even though they are paired with historical names that are now reviled? Such as this headline and short segment from a March 1, 1934 piece in the New York Times:

GIBBS SAYS HITLER HAS CURED DESPAIR; Finds Unemployment Relief Has Effected Moral Rescue of German Destitute Classes. PEOPLE ‘CAN HOPE AGAIN’ Youth Regards System as a Splendid Adventure, Though Propaganda Gets Tedious.

Berlin, Feb. 28 (By Wireless). -For three days since I have been here Berlin has been a city celebrating as a great victory the day fourteen years ago when Adolf Hitler started his campaign with a small group of friends in a beer hail in Munich, where last Saturday he made a speech as the ruler of Germany.

Does some of that sound shockingly familiar? Change out a few names and that might sound like the New York Times of today.

Then consider this New York Times headline from the socialist holiday May Day, 1934, with a socialist worker’s party inaugurating a collectivist labor code with the slogan “The Common Good Before the Good of the Individual” — they believed in it so much they stamped it on their coins:

NAZIS INAUGURATE LABOR CODE TODAY; ‘ The Common Good Before the Good of the Individual’ Is Slogan of New System. STATUS OF JEWS AN ISSUE Law Says They May Be ‘Leaders’ in Their Businesses, but Public Opinion Protests.

BERLIN, April 30. — The new Nazi labor code with its system of “leaders and followers, confidential shop councils, courts of honor and labor trustees” goes into effect tomorrow. In connection with the May Day observance.

We know that this is ‘preaching to the choir’ because you already know a lot of this. The key is that you must take what you have learned and look at the same sources to see other examples of the fascist far-left doing this in the past.

Then you must present what you know to others to warn them, a guerrilla information war if you will. Ask leftists those questions we presented earlier; they won’t have any good responses.

We know the fascist far-left is on the wrong side of history, now we have to let everyone else know that as well.

The EU’s green agenda could spark a working-class revolt, if Poland’s history is any guide

In Britain and America, trade unions still get a bad rap from conservatives and economic libertarians. There can be a fine semantic line between protecting the interests of workers and the interests of production, and, where society is fractured, anyone whose wages are not directly linked to his labor can be viewed as an oligarch. Marxism attempts to re-construct public life around this resentment, sequestering and dominating all forms of production until the state has a monopoly of ownership on all forms of production. In the context of an outright communist system, even diehard free-marketeers should clamor to support workers’ uprisings.

Poland’s Solidarność (“Solidarity”) was a perfect example of a trade union that exerted devastating pressure on a tyrannical government, defying the legal and social status quo and opening the stage for a spectacular coup that would sweep Eastern Europe.

The strikes at the Gdańsk shipyard thrust the communist world into the limelight of international media, forcing the cabal at the top to call democratic elections. The story of Polish liberation was not just that of a people lifting themselves out of servitude, but of a principle that, when well acted upon and well publicized, sounded the death knell for the entire managerial class of the Warsaw Pact nations.

The history of the Solidarity movement is thus useful to exemplify how oppressive elites can only go so far before an inevitable backlash arises. While the EU may believe it can successfully manage growing working-class animosity while simultaneously promoting green ideologies with a top-down approach, the apparatchiks that ran Poland during communism also likely once viewed their position as unassailable. While it is true that many trade unions are currently controlled by the progressive left, there is growing opposition from within on the right, such as the Swedish anti-migration faction that has arisen in blue-collar labor unions or the unions forming in Spain that are aligning themselves with the Vox party. At the same time, there are elements of the anti-progressive left also taking action, such as “Blue Labour” in the U.K.

What should be even more worrisome for the EU is the organic protest movements that can spontaneously arise, often fueled by the working class, such as the Yellow Vests in France. These movements often hold no real allegiance to any political ideology or trade union, but at their heart, they are hostile to the elite in their own countries, as well as to the elite that govern the EU.

What could spark a Solidarity-style movement in Europe? The post-industrial West has become wealthy enough to indulge a number of luxury fads and ideologies whose exponents often turn a monetary profit without being productive in any broader sense. The quest for carbon neutrality, social justice, and rising standards of consumer protections have given rise to new regulatory sectors and forms of credentialism, where the academia and the administrative states have secured their position as the de facto nomenklatura. An ecosystem of administrative ideas has grown like a plague — unchecked by market forces — on the wealthy state and entrenched itself with international treaties and resolutions. This economy provides incentives of stability and services, winning public loyalty in places where once dogmatic obedience was enforced through tyranny.

When so many civilians are in the thrall of public programs, we must be wary of subversive narratives that can lead governments astray. Democracy only enables civic action to steer the state where the demos is larger than the kratia. The further the demographic median drift from their ultimate sources of wealth in the free market, the more irrational the economy becomes and the harder it becomes for voting citizens and governments to discern what is in their interests. Green this, carbon-neutral that: The only thing now missing from most of Europe’s energy policy — given that we must now face down Russia — is a ukulele soundtrack.

The war in Ukraine poses a greater challenge to our own principles than we like to imagine. In this conflict, victory will be determined by whichever side can remain solvent for the longest and that means re-examining our stated convictions to ensure that we put productivity first.

Putin is banking on his own long experience of watching Western legislators kowtow to the types of demonstrators who burn their national flags at any threat to their paid or invested positions. (Note: These protests very rarely erupt over threats to actual jobs) Those who chant “not my president” and “not my country” are useful figures for those targeting the West’s geopolitical and economic policies. Putin probably smirks as “Just Stop Oil” protestors vandalize priceless heritage artwork and eco-zealots demand industry be crippled with carbon taxes. Then, he probably ponders how to lend them Russia’s support.

Putin knows that a culture whose convictions go no deeper than this winter’s energy bill is a culture that can never drive him out of Europe. The signs may be that the countries of the West are now too far gone to rise up against him, and if the price of heating an apartment goes up due to a lack of Russian gas, well, it is quite possible they will start arguing that it is time for the West to reconsider all those billions it spends on supplying Ukraine.

Poland, one of the hardliners in the EU when it comes to sanctions against Russia, is becoming increasingly worried that the EU has not done enough to keep energy prices low.

Shortly after the outbreak of the war, Poland’s prime minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, appealed to the European Commission to suspend the EU’s Emission Trading System (ETS) for the duration of the war in Ukraine in order to stabilize energy prices.

The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, ultimately shot down the request at an energy summit in Copenhagen on Aug. 30.

A country with a developed industrial base, Poland believes that the EU must start to take its lead from the countries that choose to keep their furnaces fired with whatever fossil fuels are still available, and have the nerve to stand up against the low-wattage zealotry of hypocritical energy-minimalism, which only paves the way for austerity.

Poland’s Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin is of the opinion that nuclear power will play a significant role in guiding Europe out of this crisis. He correctly points out that the European Commission’s position on the ETS scheme is not helpful and stresses the need for the system to be reformed to make it impossible for financial institutions to speculate on the ETS market.

Determined to make sure that Poles understand why energy prices have been rising, Minister Sasin oversaw a major information campaign by the Polish Electricity Association, which flooded public spaces in Poland with billboards full of facts about the relationship between Russia’s weaponization of its energy resources and Brussels’ rigid position on ETS.

Decades of dependence on cheap Russian gas have made for a painful U-turn in European energy policy, and Brussels’ unwillingness to show some flexibility in its approach to the Green Deal is making the situation worse than it already is. Every union must seek out the highest common directive of its constituents or else perish. For too long, the demand in Europe has been to shut down our fossil fuel and nuclear infrastructure in favor of a utopia in which renewable energy plays the main role while nuclear power and fossil fuels are placed in the backseat.

Now, the high bills are here, and the comrades in the gray corridors of power have to concede: It is impossible to please citizens without taking the tough but necessary decision to freeze the ETS system for the foreseeable future. If the EU does not abandon its plans for a green utopia, the working class and trade unions of Central and Eastern Europe will turn away from the European project far more swiftly than the Brussels elite realizes. In fact, what transpired in Poland with the trade union uprising against communism could be repeated in some form in modern Europe. If such an event were to transpire, it would come as a shock to those running Brussels, but for the working-class bearing the brunt of green ideology and its ballooning costs, anger is growing. This anger may yet burst onto the streets and reverberate through the political sphere in ways that we simply cannot predict.

Large yachts of the super-rich spared from EU’s new CO2 tax

CO2 emissions are becoming more and more expensive – a consequence of EU emissions trading. Since 2005, it has been extended to more and more branches of industry. In the future it will also apply to shipping. But there are exceptions: rich yacht owners still do not have to buy CO2 certificates.

Since 2005, some large industrial companies have had to buy certificates for their CO2 emissions. This is a result of the EU’s emissions trading system, which has been gradually expanded since then. Since 2012, for example, airline companies have also had to obtain certificates for intra-European flights.

The system is to be expanded again, the EU decided at the end of 2022. In future, road traffic and buildings will also be included. Many are celebrating the decision to expand emissions trading to include shipping as a major breakthrough. But there are some curious exceptions.

From 2024, only large passenger and cargo ships over 5000 gross register tons will be affected. Owners or renters of lavish yachts can rest easy: they will benefit from an exemption rule in CO2 emissions trading. This was announced by the EU Commission when asked by the German broadcaster NDR.

In other words, no billionaire has to buy CO2 rights for his huge ship, no matter how much he uses it.

The emissions from yachts are enormous as they consume huge amounts of fuel, from “350 liters, 500 liters or even more than 1000 liters of diesel per hour”, reported the Tagesschau.

Some NGOs blasted the new regulation: “Super-rich yacht owners cause more pollution on a summer’s day than the majority of people do in their entire lifetime, but politicians continue to let them get away with it.” The 1500 larger yachts in Europe emit around 725 tons of CO2 per year on average.

“Rape the White Girls” Poet Included in Florida’s Black AP Course – “We are all beautiful (except white people, they are full of, and made of s__t),”

The media lies. It always lies.

DeSantis sparks outrage with rejection of African American studies class – The Hill

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is facing criticism after his administration rejected an Advanced Placement African American Studies course from being taught in Florida schools, the latest curriculum-related action by the governor to draw fierce backlash.

The DeSantis administration made the move earlier this month, when it sent a letter to the College Board Florida Partnership arguing that “the content of this course is inexplicably contrary to Florida law and significantly lacks educational value.” The letter didn’t name which law the course purportedly violated, and the state’s Department of Education did not clarify that matter when asked by The Hill.

In fact it’s quite obvious when studying the contents, as the Florida Standard has done, why it’s blatantly in violation of Florida’s Stop Woke Act.

Section 4 of the syllabus introduces the topic “Postracial Racism and Colorblindness” and features texts from Eduardo Bonilla-Silva, who employs Critical Race Theory in his writings.

Eduardo Bonilla-Silva’s book Racism without Racists describes how “Whites talk, think, and account for the existence of racial inequality and makes clear that color-blind racism is as insidious now as ever.” The book’s second chapter, entitled “What is Systemic Racism? Coming to Terms with How Racism Shapes ‘All’ Whites (and Non-Whites)” explains how “all members of society participate in structural racism,” according to an online summary.

Section 4 also includes “Black Queer Studies.” A description states: “This topic explores the concept of queer color critique, grounded in Black feminism and intersectionality, as a Black studies lens that shifts sexuality studies towards racial analysis.”

Additionally, Topic 4.29 focuses on the “Black Lives Matter movement” and 4.30 includes a call for reparations from racist author Ta-Nehisi Coates.

Topic 4:26 pushes police and prison defunding. Topic 4:24 promotes liberation theology. Topic 4:15 includes a text from the writings of domestic terrorist Angela Davis.

The media doesn’t want to discuss any of this. And, as usual, it tries to smuggle in hate, bigotry and anti-Americanism under the guise of teaching “black history”. Much of this is not dealing with black history, but with radical leftist activism. And that’s inappropriate in an educational environment.

Finally, there’s the “writings of Amiri Baraka” in topic 4.10.

Here’s a sample of the writings of that deranged racist.

“I got the extermination blues, jew-boys. I got the Hitler syndrome figured… So come for the rent, jewboys, or come ask me for a book, or sit in the courts handing down your judgements still I got something for you, gonna give it to my brothers, so they’ll know what your whole story is, then one day, jewboys, we all, even my wig wearing mother gonna put it on you all at once.”

Later in “Confessions of a former Anti-Semite,” Baraka explained these lines as meaning “Jews had stolen Black secrets and then said that Hitler disliked Jews because he could smell the contact with Black on them.”

In “The Black Man in Making New Gods,” Amiri Baraka reached new heights of deranged anti-semitism, denouncing Jews, the way some Nazis did, for Christianity. “Atheist jews double crossers stole our secrets crossed the white desert to spill them,” Baraka ranted. “The fag’s death they gave us on a cross… they give us to worship a dead jew and not ourselves.” “The empty jew betrays us, as he does hanging stupidly from a cross, in an oven, the pantomime of our torture, so clearly, cinemascope the jews do it… the little arty bastards talking aritmetic they sucked from the arab’s head. Suck your pricks. The best is yet to come. On how we beat you and killed you.”

“We are all beautiful (except white people, they are full of, and made of shit),” Amiri Baraka wrote. “Come up, black dada / nihilismus. Rape the white girls. Rape / their fathers. Cut the mothers’ throats,” he wrote.

While these Baraka poems probably didn’t make the AP black history cut, no decent person should find any educational material that promotes racists like this to be acceptable.
