Following the cold-blooded and gory murder of Shraddha Walkar by Aftab Amin Poonawalla, several users on social media have been mocking the same by circulating memes and creating Facebook groups with disparaging titles. Popular Twitter user The Hawk Eye shared numerous screenshots of memes shared by users from India as well as from Pakistan.

Syeda Fatima has created page “Aftab Poonawalla Fridge Posting”, few hours back.

The Hawk Eye shared that a Facebook group has been formed with the name ‘Aftab Poonawalla Fridge Posting‘ which has 3 administrators namely Syeda Fatima, Aliza X, and Syed Abuzar Shaukat Abbasi. The Facebook group has an uncounted number of posts making fun of the gruesome murder of Shraddha Madan. A user Oden Baloch shared a photo of Shraddha and Aftab together with the text “Me with my qurbani ka janwar before bakra Eid” embossed on it.

Another user Syed Hussain Wilayat Naqvi wrote, “Aftab slaughter his hindhu live -in partner into 35 pieces for asking him to marry her”

Haziq Ansari wrote, “Bro was practising since day one” adding a Pakistani flag emoticon at last.

Chdry Fyzan, a Facebook user, took to his wall and wrote, “Boys be like ‘I know a place’ then take you to their Fridge”

Shayan Khan II, another Facebook user, took to his timeline to share an edited image of Aftab and wrote, “Yeh Wala Le Lo Sir Isme Aap Kuch Bhi Rakh Sakte. Kuch Bhi. Trust me.”

The Hawk Eye shared that while most of the members mocking are Pakistani, some of them are Indians too.

The horrifying murder that stunned the whole nation has become merely meme material for certain social media users, particularly those from Pakistan. Aftab Amin, 28, who eloped with Shraddha from Mumbai, and chopped her into 35 pieces in a rented residence in Chhatarpur, was apprehended by the police on Saturday (November 12).

The victim’s wish to marry Aftab apparently upset him. On May 18, this year, he strangled her to death. Aftab, a former chef, chopped the body parts using an iron saw, which is intended to cut wood and trees. He also threw away the blood-soaked garments. Following that, the accused purchased a refrigerator and stored her body in it for many days. He dismembered it into 35 parts and disposed of them in 18 various locations around Delhi.

He allegedly went out every night at 2 a.m. to dispose of the body parts and eliminate the evidence of his horrible murder. Shraddha’s family tracked her activities via social media posts.

When she stopped posting updates, her family grew worried. Shraddha’s father went to Delhi but was unable to find her. Thereafter, he lodged a complaint with the police. The arrest of Aftab on Saturday (November 12) thus brought closure to the 6-month-old case.

Many citizens are getting more and more angry about the sticky actions of the climate cult “Last Generation”. The chaotic people hardly have to expect punishment. A Berlin resident got upset and kicked an “activist” – and was then beaten up by a civilian police officer.

Is that reasonable? A video is currently causing a stir on Twitter – it shows a Berlin civilian police officer beating up a man. The man had previously kicked a climate activist.

On the recordings of the public broadcaster “RBB”, the incident is explained. The civilian police officer in the clip has to protect the stickers from the “increasingly aggressive anger of the citizens”, it says. An annoyed man is seen kicking one of the climate terrorists. He is then brought to the ground by the officer.

Especially explosive: The video is shared on Twitter by journalist Thomas Heise from the German news magazine “Spiegel”. In his post, he explicitly “celebrates” the official’s approach. Many other users see it differently. “Why don’t the police clear the criminals off the street?” others ask.

In September 2022, several German newspapers and public broadcasters published reports highlighting suspected Qatar Charity (QC) funding of mosques and Islamic community centers in the German capital. According to an article by rbb:

An explosive video from Qatar as well as documents from Qatari charities suggest that millions of euros may have been funneled from Qatar to mosque associations in Berlin. […] The video shows Sheikh Ahmed Hammadi, a representative of the Qatar Charity, visiting Imam Sabri at the Neukölln mosque. In it, Sabri expresses his heartfelt thanks to the donors, saying, “Thank God, this mosque was bought in 2007 with the help and covering of most of the costs by people from Qatar. May God thank them for what you have done.” [Translated from German original.]

The article was part of an investigative research project by a team of reporters from the public broadcaster ARD and German weekly Die Zeit, who had evaluated documents, including payment plans and letters of request and thanks between the mosques and QC. They indicate that, from 2012–2016, the Interkulturelles Zentrum für Bildung und Dialog (IZBD) received QC funding for six million euros. The IZDB was identified by the German domestic intelligence agency as part of the Global Muslim Brotherhood (GMB) in Germany and closely tied to the country’s main GMB umbrella Deutsche Muslimische Gemeinschaft. The article further states that the IZDB premises in Berlin-Wedding are owned by the British charity Europe Trust, a part of the Council of European Muslims. (This was also noted in a March 2022 report by the Global Influence Operations Report (GIOR) about a motion submitted to the German Bundestag regarding the financing of political Islam in Germany.)

The rbb article also identifies the Berlin mosque Neuköllner Begegnungsstätte as another potential recipient of Qatari largesse. The Berlin mosque is mentioned in past Berlin domestic intelligence agency reports as tied to the GMB. Other Islamic community centers referenced in the documents are located in the German cities of Hamburg, Bielefeld, Bonn, Essen, Frankfurt (Main), Offenbach, Heidelberg, Ulm, and Munich. Denying that any payment had been made to organizations in breach of German law, Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani told Die Zeit, “I really have no idea about Muslim Brotherhood mosques in any country or any city in Europe.”

Although QC is ostensibly an independent charity, a book authored by two French journalists refers to QC as the “religious soft power of Doha.” In 2015, Qatari media reported that the charity had launched an initiative to “serve Islamic projects worldwide” and that the project operated in more than 50 countries with the founding of Islamic centers in countries such as France, Germany, Australia, Ukraine, Bosnia, Albania, and Italy. In 2016, the Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Watch reported that QC was a major funder of the Ligue des Musulmans de Belgique, the leading Muslim Brotherhood national group in Belgium.

Hugo Lloris, the goalkeeper and captain of the French national football team, will not wear the LGBTQ+ armband during the World Cup in Qatar, telling the press that people traveling to Qatar must respect that country’s culture just as the French expect foreigners in France to respect French culture.

“When we welcome foreigners in France, we want them to abide by our rules and our culture. And I will do the same in Qatar,” he told the assembled press on the eve of the tournament, as the Palnws.be news outlet reported. 

Qatar is a country run by Sharia law, where homosexuality is currently prohibited by law, which is why the French national goalkeeper no longer wants to wear the armband. First of all, he says that such a gesture requires an agreement with FIFA and the French national football association. Lloris was referring to Denmark, which had wanted to wear a shirt that said “human rights for all,” but FIFA rejected their request.

The captain of France’s football team said he could “agree or disagree” with Qatar’s ideas, but he at least wants to “show respect” for the World Cup host nation. Nevertheless, Lloris told journalists that “something should be done” regarding the sensitive issue of human rights in Qatar, but lamented that society sometimes expects too much from players on such a topic.

In contrast, the United States football team has adopted a rainbow-colored logo to promote during the World Cup. Football has been the center of a variety of political controversies in recent years, including over Western teams kneeling in support of Black Lives Matter, a position rejected by teams from Hungary, Poland, Croatia, and Czechia, all of which refused to take the knee during football matches.

It is a small sensation that should ring all the alarm bells among the established players. According to a recent survey by the Wahlkreisprognose platform, AfD federal spokeswoman Alice Weidel is now the favorite for the job of chancellor in central Germany – ahead of incumbent Scholz (SPD).

An impressive 29 percent would currently like Weidel to be chancellor. Scholz only gets 23 percent, and CDU leader Merz ended up at 12 percent.

Notably the poll results of the top AfD woman are also impressive in the western part of the country. There Weidel is in third place behind Scholz and Merz, but has surpassed both Green “stars” Annalena Baerbock and Robert Habeck.

Weidel’s popularity is all the more remarkable when one considers the media’s continued propaganda campaign against the AfD and its party leadership.

The Wahlkreisprognose platform is apparently embarrassed by its own poll results. It tried to hide Weidel’s rise under the headline: “Union’s lead is melting – SPD with the highest value since April”. It is therefore no wonder that voters have become fed up with so much partisanship.

Twitter ban

Curiously, the AfD is currently no longer able to access its main account on the short message service Twitter. According to information from German weekly Junge Freiheit, the social network deleted two posts by the party and blocked access for the employees of the federal office. The AfD filed an objection to the deletion.

In the first post criticized by the short message service, the party appealed to common sense: “Our welfare state must not be a reason for asylum! Whether from Ukraine or Maghreb: benefits in kind instead of money!”

The second deleted post read: “Tough slip for the traffic-light coalition at the start of the week: The Federal Council has stopped the citizens’ benefit. So first of all, no to this all-round carefree package from which immigrants would mostly benefit. Illegal migration must be contained and not awarded!”

On Facebook, Weidel explained that “while the immigration of illegal migrants is still not stopped, more and more of them are heading out to participate in the German social system” because of these benefits.

Bleeding the benefit system

The current political discussion about the increase and simplification of social benefits (known as Harz IV) is also a debate about the immigration policy of the old political forces. Because most recipients of social transfer payments in Germany have an immigrant background. Currently, 45 percent of Hartz IV recipients are not German citizens.

According to calculations, the number of foreign Hartz IV recipients rose from 1,3 million to 2,4 million in the same period while German recipients declined markedly. This corresponds to an increase of 45 percent.

Quite understandably, this serves the purpose of keeping Germany attractive to migrants from all over the world who are poor.

In addition, many migrants from poverty, whose economic existence is secured by the basic income, are naturalized sooner or later. The red-green parties are evidently relying on the long-term expansion of their electoral base. After all, who should these people vote for, if not the politicians who guarantee their income?

And anyone who questions this cynical game is berated as a racist and xenophobe or blocked on social media.

More than 180 000 people follow the AfD on Twitter. The short message service is one of the party’s most important distribution channels alongside Facebook.

Sharp criticism from Weidel

The AfD national chairwoman Alice Weidel expressed sharp criticism of the Twitter ban: “Freedom of expression is a fundamental and a human right. It is also an important building block of any democracy. It must not be the case that an opposition party is excluded from public discourse because of factual criticism of the government.”

After the takeover of Twitter by US billionaire Elon Musk, the network is currently at the center of a debate about freedom of expression online. Musk had announced that he would turn the network into a space for free debate and end the rigid deletion practice of his predecessors.

But the AfD is not only fighting for its presence on social networks on Twitter. The AfD channel was also blocked on the video service TikTok, against which the party is defending itself legally.

On Tuesday night, a 19-year-old girl Nidhi Gupta was reportedly pushed to death from the fourth floor of an apartment by her boyfriend Mohammad Sufiyan. The reported Sector H, Basant Kunj, Dubagga police station area. 

According to the reports, the girl was taking training to become a beautician and she was in a relationship with the accused Mohammed Sufiyan. Gupta fell to her death from the 4th floor of the apartment. On Tuesday, Nidhi and her family members had gone to Sifiyan’s house to confront him over his pressure on Nidhi to convert to Islam and marry him.

During the heated argument that ensued, Nidhi went to the rooftop and Sufiyan followed. Soon, Nidhi was pushed off to the ground. Nidhi’s family has alleged that Sufiyan pushed her to death because she had refused to convert and have a Nikah with him.

The girl was rushed to King George Medical University (KGMU) trauma centre where the doctors declared her brought dead. 

In the FIR lodged by the girl’s family, her mother has reportedly accused Sufiyan, who lives in the same locality, of harassing and forcing Nidhi to marry him under Islamic rituals. 

As per the Zee News report, Accused Sufiyan claimed to a have ‘video’ of Nidhi and was forcing her to marry him. Sufiyan was hellbent on converting Nidhi to Islam and doing Nikah (Muslim contract marriage) with her. 

On Tuesday night, the girl along with her mother, elder sister, and uncle went to confront the youth and complain to his family. While the two families were talking to each other, an altercation between Sufiyan and the girl started and he pushed her from the fourth floor, the mother told police.

Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, Additional DCP, West Zone, stated that the victim’s body has been sent for postmortem. An FIR has been filed against the accused Sufiyan under appropriate sections of murder and forced conversions.

Sufiyan, according to police, is on a run after the incident along with his other family members. Their house where the argument happened has been locked.  A police investigation is underway to verify the claims made by the victim’s family in their complaint.

Nearly seven out of ten French people believe that the state should adopt a stricter policy regarding the reception of migrants, according to a poll by the CSA institute for CNEWS published on Tuesday.

A total of 67 percent of French people want a tougher immigration policy, a topic that remains at the heart of the current national debate after the country received boat migrants for the first time in its history and following the murder of 12-year-old Paris girl Lola, has was raped, had her throat slashed, and was stuffed in a suitcase by an Algerian illegal migrant.

Respondents to the survey were asked: “Would you like France to have a much stricter policy regarding the reception of migrants (i.e. to welcome fewer of them on our territory)?”

To this question, 67 percent said “Yes” while 33 percent of respondents said “No.”

The poll shows that men are more in favor of a firmer policy in terms of welcoming migrants on French territory than women — 69 percent of men surveyed answered favorably compared with 65 percent of women.

Opinions differed greatly by age with the 18-24 age bracket in favor of a more lenient approach (52 percent said “No”), while 73 percent of those aged 65 and older backed stronger border control. Overall, 72 percent of the over-50s are in favor.

When taking into account the political leanings of those surveyed, there is a striking divide between the left and the right — nearly two-thirds of those polled who feel aligned to the left (60 percent) are opposed to a tougher migration policy.

The figure rises to 64 percent among supporters of La France insoumise and 62 percent among those close to the Europe Ecologie Les Verts (EELV) party.

On the right, the situation is quite different — 94 percent of French people close to the right want to be stricter about the reception of migrants. A total of 97 percent of National Rally supporters want stricter immigration controls, as do 91 percent among Les Républicains voters.

It is not the only poll showing the French opposed to mass immigration, with past polls consistently showing the vast majority of French want a halt to immigration.

From 2023, the German government will be funding the United4Rescue association, which supports private sea rescue in the Mediterranean. According to the Budget Committee’s budget, United4Rescue will receive two million euros. The payment is to be continued in subsequent years.

The budget politician Jamila Schäfer (Greens) told the AFP news agency: “We do not accept the deaths in the Mediterranean, but as a traffic-light [coalition] underline the importance of compliance with European law and humanitarian aid.”

The SPD human rights expert Derya Türk-Nachbaur said that this was an important signal in times when saving human lives was constantly being criminalized at the EU’s external borders. Saving lives is not a crime, but a humanitarian obligation.

The migrant boats only set off when the shuttle service crosses the Libyan coast, in other words, when both sides (NGO ship and human traffickers) agree on the positions and timing of the coordinate distress signals from boats that are already unseaworthy and overcrowded at the time of departure.

Italian Minister Roberto Calderoli stated what many Europeans have understood: “I doubt that these are really sea rescues. I believe more in a transfer of people who had an appointment with the NGO ships.”
