Qatar uses gas to export Islam to Europe

by Giulio Meotti

“Gas as a holy war. Gas as a new fantasy of revenge on the West. It is the ‘gift of Allah’. There is a desire for conquest “. So writes with irony Kamel Daoud, the celebrated Algerian writer, in the French weekly Le Point.

Saudi Arabia (which is also financing the first mosque in Cuba at the moment) was the first stop on a recent tour of the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz which included the Emirates and Qatar.

I had written that since the beginning of the war in Ukraine: Europe will replace Russian gas with Islamic gas and there will be an enormous price to pay in terms of submission. Saudi Arabia and Qatar have always been happy to provide financial support to Muslims around the world. Chancellor Scholz praised the emirate during his visit to Qatar: “In recent years, Qatar has provided us with reliable support in critical moments.” Congratulations for so much blindness or shall we say stupidity. Islamists have a lot of patience and plan for the long term. This is confirmed by the news arriving in these hours from Germany.

“Documents from data leaks from Qatari charities indicate that millions of euros have flowed from Qatar to mosques in Germany”, writes the weekly Die Zeit. Mosques in Hamburg , Bielefeld, Bonn, Essen, Frankfurt, Offenbach, Heidelberg and Munich. There is also the Dar-as-Salam Mosque in the capital.

Imam Mohamed Taha Sabri is one of the most important Muslim personalities of the capital with the best contacts in the politics of Berlin. Received the Berlin Order of Merit from the hands of the then Mayor Michael Müller (SPD). Tagespost headlines: “Qatar donated millions to German mosques affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood’s hands”. On the other hand, hadn’t Yusuf al Qaradawi, the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood who died several days ago, announced the “conquest of Rome” as the goal of Islam?

Qatar has been extremely active in France. The emirate graciously financed the Islamic Center of Villeneuve-d’Ascq and France’s first state-funded Muslim faith school, the Lycée-Collège Averroès. Unfortunately, the Lycée Averroès soon became the center of a scandal. One of its teachers resigned after writing that the school was “a hotbed of anti-Semitism and ‘promoting Islamism’ to pupils”.

This is happening not only in France. The Great Mosque of Copenhagen received a donation of 30 million euros from Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani, former Emir of Qatar, who is also a leading supporter of the Muslims in Belgium. Europe’s Parliament was also asked to investigate Qatari mosques in Kosovo.

Russian gas is not free; Qatari gas is not free either.

Berlin gets panel on “anti-Muslim racism”

The state of Berlin has set up a permanent panel to combat “anti-Muslim racism”. The experts will work to identify and understand structural discrimination, Justice Senator Lena Kreck (Left Party) announced, according to the newspaper Tagesspiegel.

She herself pleads for the abolition of the neutrality law in Berlin. This largely prohibits police and judicial officers as well as teachers in the civil service from wearing religious symbols such as headscarves.

Elif Eralp (Left Party), a member of parliament, emphasised: “Anti-Muslim racism is not only widespread on the extreme right, but also in the middle of society. This is now being fought in Berlin. According to Green politician Tuba Bozkurt, Muslims in Germany are “cheated of their rights”. The state secretary for diversity and anti-discrimination, Saraya Gomis ( independent), announced that she would support the committee financially in order to make studies possible.

Previously, there had already been an expert commission in Berlin on the topic of “anti-Muslim racism”. One of its members was Lydia Nofal, a delegate of the Islam Forum. She suggested, for example, that a guideline on Islamophobic crimes be prepared for the State Criminal Police Office.

Cihan Sinanoğlu from the German Centre for Integration and Migration Research complained that racism not only kills, but allegedly also leads to social inequality. A study had shown that women with headscarves had to apply four times more often to get a job with equivalent qualifications.

The publicist Ahmad Mansour, who also attended the meeting in Berlin as an expert, also commented on the topic. It is treated with a frightening “naivety and under-complexity” by some MPs.

Migrants housed on luxury 5-star cruise ship celebrate with viral TikTok videos

Migrants in the Netherlands are bragging about their new luxury cruise ship accommodations on TikTok and other social media platforms, with the news coming at a time when the country is facing skyrocketing inflation and an uncertain economic future.

In the municipality of Velsen, up to 1,000 migrants have been moved onto the Silja Europa cruise ship, which will now serve as a floating asylum shelter.

In the videos posted to TikTok, migrants give viewers tours of their new home, which features spacious cabins and hot buffets, all of which will be paid for by Dutch citizens. The videos have been reposted on a number of other social media platforms as well.

Velsen Mayor Frank Dales celebrated the arrival of the migrants at his port city last week.

“The 1st bus has just arrived. Refugees from Syria and Yemen. They stayed outside in tents in Budel and Ter Apel,” Dales wrote on September 26.

“How good that they are now being taken care of in Velsen. We contribute to solving the national reception crisis. That’s how we do it here. I am proud of Velsen!”

Dutch politician Geert Wilders has been sharing videos on his own Twitter page and pointed to the fact that many Dutch people are struggling to make ends meet while migrants are enjoying free heating, housing, and meals on a cruise ship that many Dutch people could not afford even if it were available to them.

“Everything is free for asylum seekers. Nice hot food, heating, care. All for nothing on luxury cruise ships,” he wrote in another post.

“While our own people cannot pay their energy bills, and many elderly people are in diapers due to a lack of healthcare staff.”

Currently, the Netherlands is experiencing 17.1 percent inflation, and the country faces the same deindustrialization threat as neighboring Germany due to soaring energy costs, making the burden of the migrant crisis on the Dutch taxpayer enormous.

The videos also serve as a huge pull for migrants who have their eye on coming to Europe. The continent is already facing a significant crisis this year, with hundreds of thousands making their way to Europe and many of them determined to reach wealthier countries like Germany and the Netherlands.

“Meanwhile, fortune hunters are advertising our super-deluxe luxury five-star shelters on cruise ships on TIkTok,” Wilders posted.

“This government policy is insane, insane and sick. Our people get a crumb, strangers get everything.”

He also posted a video graphic that described how migrant smugglers operate and advertise their business.

“The asylum profiteers shamelessly show on TikTok how they cheat. By car, bus, and plane through four, five safe countries and then fly to Holland to seek asylum here and parasitize on 5-star cruise ships with our money,” he wrote.

Due to the current migrant crisis the Netherlands has faced over the years, last year the Dutch government mandatedquotas to force municipalities to accept more migrants. An estimated 11,000 illegal migrants have entered the country this year, but the Netherlands already has an extremely large migrant population in a small and densely populated country, which has led to severe housing shortages both for Dutch citizens and immigrants.

The Netherlands is not the only country facing such challenges either. As reported by Remix News, migrants are being housed in some of the finest hotels and accommodations in Europe as a new migrant crisis develops. In the United Kingdom, people have seen their weddings cancelled with short notice after the government block-booked hotel rooms for migrants, a controversial policy that has been in place for years. The U.K. is currently spending over £5 million of taxpayer cash every day on accommodating asylum seekers and Afghan refugees in hotels, equating to £1.8 billion (€2.1 billion) every year. Migrants are often aware that countries turn hotels into refugee accommodations and have protested when they have not received such treatment.

Hungary has already seen over 160,000 migrants cross its border since the beginning of the year, and Germany is facing a refugee crisis that has led 12 of its 16 federal states to no longer accept new refugees and migrants.

Instead of heating: French mayor buys fleece jackets for students

Put on a down jacket or switch to a turtleneck sweater: for a few days now, the French government has been calling for people to turn down the heating and adapt to save energy. A French mayor explains how this can be done and recommends that the students put on fleece jackets.

The small French town of Périers has decided to give every school child a fleece jacket as the heating in schools is turned down due to the energy crisis. “The students have to feel good in order to learn,” said the mayor of the Normandy town, Gabriel Daube, on the France Bleu broadcaster . He called the procedure “one of the measures to reduce the city’s energy bill”:

“We will turn the heating down to 19 degrees. But that’s not enough. We have decided with the local council to buy a fleece jacket for every student in our schools to brave the cold.”

It costs the community around 6 000 euros to buy a fleece jacket for each of the 350 students. The mayor considers a temperature of 19 degrees in the classes to be acceptable, but when it gets very cold, the jacket is a help.

According to Daube, the schools in Périers have “an excellent educational team and a good reputation”. The students are “very close to the heart” of the community.

The mayor stressed: “I believe that the manageable expense for the fleece jackets contributes to the well-being of the students and thus to their general well-being.”

India:  Hindu stabbed by Muslims for resisting molestation of girls at Hindu event

A youth named Madhusudan Modi was attacked with a knife by three youths named Shahrukh, Zubair, and Samir at a dandiya event held in Bikaner in Rajasthan. These Muslim youths were molesting girls who had come to play Garba. As Madhusudan Modi resisted them, they had an argument with him. The Muslim youths then attacked Madhusudan Modi with a knife. Police have arrested one of the assailants, Sameer Nadsa, while the others are said to be absconding.

According to local news reports, on Saturday, October 1, 2022, a dandiya program was going on at the railway ground under the Kotgate police station area of Bikaner. During the event, some Muslim boys were molesting girls playing Garba there. Madhusudan Modi was already present there with his friends.

When Madhusudan saw that Muslim boys were constantly molesting the girls who had come there, he tried to stop those boys. After this, there was an argument between them. Madhusudan’s family has alleged that it was during this argument that Muslim boys threatened to kill Madhusudan. When Madhusudan came out of the dandiya pandal with his friends, the Muslim boys surrounded him and attacked him.

Madhusudan’s father Dinesh Modi has said in a statement to the police that on October 1, around 10:25 pm, he received a call from Madhusudan’s friend Kishan Daiya. Kishan Daiya informed that at 8 pm, he, Ajay Ojha, Kishan Bhati, and Madhusudan Modi had gone to play dandiya at the railway ground. There were some Muslim boys molesting girls. When Madhusudan Modi tried to resist them, they got into a fight and threatened to kill him when he steps out.

As Madhusudan and his friends came out of the pandal, 15-20 boys were standing near Saras Booth in the lane opposite the railway ground. As soon as all these companions reached there, they tried to kill Madhusudan and attacked him with sticks, rods, and sharp knives. During this time, some people were holding Madhusudan and one of them stabbed Madhusudan on the right side of his stomach with a knife. Immediately after the attack, Madhusudan’s friends admitted him to PBM hospital’s trauma centre. His condition remains critical.

On the basis of the statement of Madhusudan’s father, the police have registered a case against Sameer Nadsa, Shahrukh Pathan, Zubair Pathan, and others under Sections 307, 323, 324, 341, and Section 143 of the IPC. The police have managed to arrest Sameer Nadsa, the accused in the case of the fatal attack on Madhusudan Modi, while the others are said to be absconding. The police are interrogating Sameer and raiding the premises of the other accused.

Police informed that a case is already registered against Sameer Nadsa under the arms act. The police said that at present it is not possible to reveal details about the case as the probe is in preliminary stage.

Austria: Fellow pupil brutally knocked down – nevertheless no expulsion from school for three Syrians

For pupils of the secondary school in Haag (Lower Austria, district Amstetten), things could be dangerous again as of tomorrow, Thursday: The three Syrians who brutally beat and injured a fellow pupil in September will be allowed to attend classes again after their suspension. It was the second such incident at the school in only one year.

The assault took place on September 14 at the school’s sports field. The three Syrians allegedly brutally beat up a boy, numerous haematomas and a plastered hand witnessed the severity of the blows for weeks. As a result, the three alleged perpetrators of violence were suspended from school until October 5.

The victim’s mother now fears that there could be further attacks against her son starting tomorrow. However, there is no talk of an expulsion from school yet, the school has not yet been able to bring itself to do so. According to research by the newspaper Kronen Zeitung, the threat has to be serious enough to justify such an expulsion. A rather vague statement.

The severity of violations is always determined by the school doctor. The school conference then decides on the actual reprimand. The question arises why no such decision has been made in the three weeks since the incident. In view of the victim’s injuries, there should be no doubt that the three Syrians pose a threat.

In any case, Freedom Party (FPÖ) district party leader Edith Mühlberghuber and regional party leader Udo Landbauer are demanding the immediate expulsion of the three potential dangerous persons from school: “The headmaster apparently believes that he can ride something out like this and get away with keeping quiet. This cannot be it ,” emphasises Landbauer, who wants to continue to be active in this matter.

Germany could go from an ‘industrial country to an industrial museum’ due to worsening energy crisis

Germany is at risk of going from an industrial country to an “industrial museum” due to the federal government’s energy policy, warned the president of the German Chemical Industry Association (VCI), Markus Steilemann. According to him, Germany is at risk of frequent power shortages because renewable energy is insufficient to meet the country’s energy needs.

Pointing to wind power, he said that Germany would need to build 10 wind turbines daily to implement the energy transition.

“One of them needs 4,000 tons of steel. That is half an Eiffel Tower. That means five Eiffel Towers every day. And that for the next eight years,” Steilemann said.

Steilemann questioned this effort by saying, “I’d like to see how we can get that going.”

To underline the problem, Germany’s steel industry is already under severe threat, with plants shutting down across the country due to soaring energy costs. The question then becomes whether Germany can even secure enough affordable steel to build the necessary number of wind power turbines. Even if Germany could manage over the next eight years, it does not solve the energy crisis the country is confronting both now and over the coming years.

VCI managing director Wolfgang Große Entrup also called for rapid progress towards the country’s planned energy transition. According to him, speed is of the essence, as the situation is becoming more dramatic by the day.

“Our companies need air to breathe quickly. We cannot wait for anything or anyone anymore. It is about saving the industrial structures that make our prosperity possible,” Entrup stated.

Critics are also pointing to failures of German Economic Minister Robert Habeck and the federal government. Jörg Rothermel of the Energy Intensive Industries of Germany association (EID) says Habeck is “a lot behind schedule” with the expansion plans.

“The federal government must drastically increase the pace of expansion, otherwise the goal will not be achieved,” he warned.

︎Matthias Frederichs, the head of the Building Materials Association (BVB), is demanding Habeck and Chancellor Olaf Scholz connect all available capacities for generating electricity to the grid, including nuclear power plants.

“Otherwise, there is a risk of bankruptcies and emigration,” said Frederichs.

So far, Germany’s left-wing government has mostly resisted calls to reopen nuclear power plants, which the Green Party has long fought against.

Fredrichs argues that Germany’s industry urgently needs enough green and cheap electricity, but the government has no plans in the foreseeable future that could remedy the problem. He noted that production costs have doubled since the beginning of the war, mainly due to soaring electricity prices. Frederichs said these input costs must be cut in half for companies to make production worthwhile again.

A Habeck spokeswoman admitted that securing enough energy supplies and transitioning to green energy is an “enormous effort” and that “the expansion targets are undoubtedly ambitious.”

VCI represents 1,900 companies in the chemical industry, which have a turnover of approximately €220 billion and employ more than 530,000 people.

Cold weather warning adds to Europe’s gloom as it battles self-inflicted energy crisis

The weather in Europe is usually difficult to predict because conditions are dictated by several remote factors, but Europe may experience a colder winter with less wind and rain than usual, according to the European Weather Forecast Agency. This is bound to heighten the challenges facing governments trying to solve the continent’s energy crisis.

The forecast by the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), cited winds in the tropical stratosphere and surface pressure across the Atlantic which reduces renewable energy generation. The intergovernmental organization is backed by 35 countries and oversees the Copernicus Climate and Atmospheric Change Monitoring Services which track marine, terrestrial and atmospheric data.

Florence Rapier, director general of the ECMWF, underscored that November and December showed a period of high pressure over Western Europe, which is likely to bring with it colder spells, fewer winds and precipitation.

“If we have this pattern it requires a lot of energy because not only is it a little bit cooler but you also have less wind for wind power and less precipitation for hydro,” she told the Financial Times. Policy makers have been faced with high energy costs due to their sanctions on gas imports from Russia.

The European Union has pledged to completely stop the importation of Russian gas by 2027 by diversifying into renewable energy sources.

In the short term, Rapier said, recent hurricanes across the Atlantic could mean milder, wetter and windier weather. But cooler weather later in the year will be due to atmospheric conditions known as La Niña, a weather pattern derived from the cooling of the Pacific Ocean’s surface, leading to changes in wind and precipitation patterns in different regions.

Wind and hydro power output in Europe’s electricity generation has fallen this summer as a result of hotter and drier weather.

Claude Tormes, Luxembourg’s Minister of Energy and Spatial Planning, said that ministers were calling on ENTSO-E (the European Union’s network of power grid operators) to provide an update on the risks to this winter’s electricity supplies in October, a month early.

Unusual winter cold in the southern hemisphere

Half the globe is south of the equator. The northern hemisphere is home to almost three quarters of the earth’s land masses, not counting the ice deserts of Antarctica and Greenland – 90 percent of the world’s population is also found here.

This is why we rarely hear about what life is like south of the equator, and it is also the same reason why the climate debate mainly concerns the northern hemisphere.

But although the Southern Hemisphere has half the Earth’s climate, only one in ten people experiences it. There is also most of the world’s oceans, as well as the ice continent of Antarctica with an ice sheet over four kilometers thick. That they affect the earth’s climate is obvious.

While many areas in the Northern Hemisphere have had an unusually warm summer, many in the Southern Hemisphere have had an unusually cold winter.

South Africa’s weather service warned of snow on July 12-16. The town of Volksrust had snow and winter roads with 10 degrees below zero. The mountainous kingdom of Lesotho had ski lifts open at the end of July.

Neighboring countries Namibia and Botswana had unusually cold weather, 10 degrees below zero in Namibia and 7,7 degrees below zero in Botswana. Kenya on the equator had stunted growth.

In July, the Australian state of Queensland had an average temperature 8-12 degrees lower than normal. Wondecla had 2,6 minus degrees on July 14. Large parts of the country were at least 10 degrees colder than normal on July 24. New Zealand has also had unusually cold weather.

In southern Brazil, Sao Joaquim had 13 minus degrees on August 13. On average, the temperature was 20 degrees below normal. Vineyards were affected. In June last year, it was unusually cold in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.

On June 17 last year, the Earth’s largest ice desert, Antarctica, was 81,7 degrees below zero on the ice sheet. Earth’s absolute coldest record in 2018 was measured there, minus 98,6 degrees.

The average temperature for the southern hemisphere on August 23 was 0,4 degrees below the average for the years 1979-2000.

It does not substantiate warnings of imminent global warming. In a colder atmosphere, jet streams move into larger bays and let in warm air from the north in the southern hemisphere and cold air in the south – and vice versa in the northern hemisphere.

German government apparently airlifts German IS supporters in secret operation

The Federal Government has repatriated several German nationals from north-eastern Syria. A spokesperson for the Federal Ministry of the Interior confirmed this in Berlin on Wednesday. The Federal Criminal Police Office was involved in the repatriation. The ministry did not give further details, citing personal rights and the protection of minors, among other reasons.

Earlier, “Spiegel” and “Bild” had reported on the repatriation of suspected German female supporters of the terrorist militia Islamic State (IS) and their children from Syria. According to the report, the four women and several children had been detained in Kurdish prison camps for years. The Federal Public Prosecutor and other public prosecutors’ offices are investigating the women on suspicion of membership in a terrorist organisation.

According to information from security circles, their transfer to Germany will take place on a US Air Force transport plane via an air base in Kuwait, according to the “Spiegel” report. According to the report, the plane is expected to arrive in Frankfurt am Main in the evening.

According to “Spiegel”, there is also a 20-year-old man on board the plane. He had been abducted to the IS by his mother when he was a teenager. In his case, the Federal Government is deviating for the first time from its previous policy of only returning women and children to Germany. The Federal Public Prosecutor is also conducting terror proceedings against him.

The airlift is the sixth repatriation operation to date. On the first flight in summer 2019, only orphans and sick children of IS supporters were brought from a camp in northern Syria to Germany. Several flights with women and children followed later. According to information from the news magazine “Der Spiegel”, a total of 40 German IS supporters are still in detention camps or prisons in northern Syria. More than two thirds of them are men.
