India: 2 Muslim Women held for vandalising Hindu idol

Two Muslim women were detained on Tuesday for reportedly vandalising the idol of goddess Durga at a Navratri pandal in Hyderabad. The ladies barged into a pandal in the city’s Khairatabad locality and smashed a portion of the Durga statue, according to Hyderabad Police.

When a local tried to stop her, one of the ladies attacked him with a metallic tool. Locals apprehended both ladies and handed them over to the police.

DCP, Central Zone, Hyderabad, said, “In the morning we received a call that two ladies have tried to vandalize the mother Mary statue and later they also tried to vandalize the statue of Goddess Durga.” “One woman was also seen carrying a spanner and she tried to attack a local who tried to stop. However, locals caught both of them and handed them over to Saidabad police. We are trying to verify their details but they are behaving very weirdly. An investigation is underway,” the DCP further added.

The ladies also vandalised a statue of Mother Mary outside a nearby church, according to News 18. Damage to the idols and the lion sculptures adjacent to the idol was also visible in pictures from the site. The authorities are now trying to figure out who the women are and what motivated them to do this. There are no additional specifics concerning the event because the accused are not even disclosing their identities. Police are investigating if the crime was carried out with the intent of inflaming communal tensions in the area.

India: Man poses as non-Muslim to befriend a minor girl, sexually assaults and threatens to convert her to Islam, booked

The Uttarakhand Police has filed a complaint against a Muslim man for sexually assaulting a minor girl and threatening her to convert to Islam. The accused has been booked under the relevant sections of the IPC.

According to the reports, the accused posed himself as a non-Muslim and introduced himself as Kabir Bhati on social media. The minor girl victim and the accused became friends through social media. The incident happened in Dehradun on September 19 when the boy called the girl for a party and then sexually assaulted her.

The girl was called to a friend’s house by the accused for a party. He deceptively took her to the bedroom and sexually assaulted her. He also recorded the incident on his phone and used the clips to blackmail her. He assaulted her several times by blackmailing her.

After a few days, the victim girl learned that the accused who had introduced himself as Kabir Bhati was a Muslim. He then threatened the girl to convert her religion to Islam and said that she would die if she refused to convert. He also asked the girl to keep shut her mouth.

The incident however came to light on September 24 when the accused sent the video clips to the elder sister of the victim. The victim had refused to convert her religion and so the accused sent the videos to her elder sister. He also stated that the victim girl would face the worst consequences for refusing to convert to her religion.

The sister reportedly filed a complaint at Dehradun Police Station and booked the accused under the relevant sections of the law. Inspector Rajendra Singh said that the police are searching for the accused who is absconding. “Strict action will be taken against the accused in the case”, he added. Further investigations in the case are underway.

German business confidence plummets to two-year low as recession looms

The mood in the German economy has deteriorated considerably in the past month with the ifo Business Climate Index falling by 4.3 points to 84.3 in September, its lowest value since May 2020.

The drop in confidence was sharper than experts had predicted, with economists polled by Reuters only expecting a decline to 87.0 points.

The slump was felt across all four major sectors of the German economy, including manufacturing, services, trade, and construction, with President of the ifo Institute Clemens Fuest warning that the country “is slipping into recession.”

According to the institute, order books for Germany manufacturers have shrunk as pessimism grips the sector, and companies are more pessimistic than they have been since the peak of the coronavirus pandemic in April 2020.

Confidence in the services sector “took a nosedive,” according to Fuest, with companies “expecting a further marked deterioration in the coming months,” and the hospitality sector is expected to take a significant hit. A weaker currency, higher inflation, and in particular spiraling energy costs are contributing to the decline in confidence.

Indexes in the trade and construction sectors also weakened noticeably.

The readings are in stark contrast to the sentiment among German businesses in September of last year when the Business Climate Index peaked at 99.2.

“The pessimism with regard to the coming months has increased significantly,” said Ifo President Clemens Fuest, while Ifo economic expert Klaus Wohlrabe in an interview with Reuters was even more alarmed.

“We see a big minus on all fronts,” he told the new outlet. “The energy-intensive sectors in particular are extremely pessimistic about the winter,” he added.

“The entire Ifo index signals more than ever a recession in the winter,” Commerzbank chief economist Jörg Krämer was quoted as saying in Die Welt.

“Germany has become poorer due to the massive increase in the price of energy imports,” said Krämer. “We are facing an economically difficult winter.”

WATCH: Uncovered Woman Harassed in London…

Pakistan’s Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb confronted on the streets of London: “You make big claims on TV there, but here you don’t wear a veil on your head”.

A video has gone viral on the internet where overseas Pakistanis were seen surrounding Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb. Overseas Pakistanis were criticising the minister for making foreign visits amidst the devastation of floods across Pakistan, ARY News reported.

Pakistanis have been following Marriyum, the daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, through the streets, shouting “chorni, chorni (thief, thief)”.

The video of the whole heckling incident went viral on the internet in short clips, showing Aurangzeb not reacting to the protest by foreign citizens and keeping herself busy on her mobile phone.

Meanwhile, ministers came forward to defend Marriyum, saying she handled the situation with “grace and composure” when confronted, Dawn reported.

According to Dawn, Aurangzeb was harassed and harassed in a shop by supporters of former prime minister Pak Imran Khan.

A woman in the video was seen admonishing Aurangzeb for “making big claims on TV there, but here she is not wearing a dupatta on her head”.

Reacting to the video shared by Pakistani journalist Syed Talat Hussain, Aurangzeb said she was “saddened to see the toxic effect that [PTI chairman] Imran Khan’s hateful and divisive politics is having on our brothers and sisters”.

The minister also said she stayed put and answered “every question” from the angry crowd, Dawn reported.

Finance Minister Miftah Ismail praised Aurangzeb for her ” grace and self-control” in the face of such harassment and baseless lies.

“I salute my sister @Marriyum_A for her grace and self-control in the face of such harassment and baseless lies from this rude woman (who can be heard but fortunately not seen),” he said in a tweet. Siasatt

Germany: Pakistani serial rapist claims memory lapses – He cannot be deported because he allegedly has no passport

Believing that her flatmate, who had forgotten her key, was standing in front of the door, a 25-year-old student opened her front door in Bonn’s old town at around 11 pm on March 15 this year. At that time, the young woman had no idea that she had let her future tormentor into the apartment building. After she saw that it was not her flatmate, she closed the door, but a short time later there was a knock on the door and she opened it again.

What happened later that night is now the subject of a rape trial before the 3rd Grand Criminal Chamber at the Bonn Regional Court. The defendant is Amal K. (editor’s note: name changed), a 36-year-old Pakistani who had last lived in Morsbach but is currently in pre-trial detention in Cologne. The public prosecutor’s office assumes that the refugee immediately forced the student into the flat after opening the door and covered her mouth. He allegedly posed as a member of the secret police who were looking for terrorists.

At first, nothing is said to have happened, but after about an hour, the man allegedly took off her jacket, tied her up with a bathrobe belt and then gagged her with a white T-shirt. Three rapes followed. The student’s six-hour ordeal did not end until 5 a.m., when the alleged perpetrator left the flat and his traumatised victim. At the time, the young woman suffered multiple injuries in her private parts and was in such a bad psychological condition that she had to be admitted to an LVR clinic two days later for several months.

Amal K. also has to answer for attempted burglary. Ten days before the alleged rape, he allegedly locked himself in the beverage shop at Rewe in Morsbach in order to rob the supermarket. When the police arrested him at around midnight, he was said to have hoarded together tobacco products worth about 13,000 euros (the exact value could no longer be reconstructed because a corresponding list from the police had disappeared, the judge said).

While the defendant admitted to breaking into the Rewe store, he said through his defence lawyer Martin Kretschmer that he had no recollection of March 15 in Bonn. “From the defence lawyer’s point of view, there is no doubt that something happened there. However, my client can neither remember driving to Bonn, nor can he remember what happened, nor how he got home afterwards,” said the lawyer. At the same time, he told the court that his client was now willing to undergo a psychological examination and to release the doctors from their duty of confidentiality.

Presiding Judge Claudia Gelber considered this a first positive step, but then spoke urgently to the accused. “A confession has a special mitigating effect in sexual offence proceedings,” she explained to him. According to the case file, the burden of proof was overwhelming. In addition to the DNA traces, his mobile phone had been located in a radio cell in Bonn, and Amal K., who had already served ten years in an Aachen prison from 2010 to 2020 for rape and robbery, had a relevant criminal record. In addition, there would be the victim’s enormous trauma. “Preventive detention is on the cards here. I just want to tell you, it might be worthwhile for you to think about whether there are any memories left after all.”

Subsequently, the court heard the 36-year-old’s legal carer. He handed over several expert reports to the court, according to which the accused suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and is also addicted to alcohol and cannabis. Already in prison, he had had auditory hallucinations and anxiety states. After he could no longer afford medication after his release, he had resorted to alcohol and weed. The man, whose toleration in the Federal Republic of Germany had recently been extended every three months, could not be deported because he did not have a passport. His guardian admitted to being in a dilemma: “For me it was a contradiction to look for his birth certificate, with which he would have been deported, but at the same time I was obliged to act in his best interests.”

Afterwards, a one-and-a-half-hour video of the police interrogation of the young student was shown in camera. The trial will continue next Friday with the questioning of the victim – here, too, the public will be excluded. The verdict is expected on October 11.
