Outrage in Austria because the state broadcaster ORF employs a headscarf-wearing correspondent for a report on the women in Iran protesting against the headscarf

Thousands of young women in Iran are currently protesting against the compulsory headscarf and fighting for their rights. On the Austrian public broadcaster ORF’s news programme ZiB1, however, a correspondent wearing a headscarf appeared in the middle of this protest movement – and a political debate ensued.

The footage of the courageous women’s protest in Iran is going around the world – and the videos of police violence against the demonstrators are shocking. At least 76 people have been killed, said the director of the Oslo-based human rights organisation Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, citing video footage and death certificates.

Despite hundreds of arrests and threats made by the government, the protests are not abating: In several Iranian cities, women were seen taking off their veils and setting them on fire or symbolically cutting their hair. Riot police beat demonstrators with batons.

In this situation, the ORF newsroom let the editor Katharina Wagner in Tehran broadcast live – wearing a headscarf. Many viewers were astonished: In a TV report about the protests against the headscarf, against the radical mullahs, of all things, the ORF employee is acting like a “model Iranian”? Presumably this was a condition imposed by the Iranian regime, which the ORF accepted for this report.

A heated debate immediately started on the social media channels. And Harald Vilimsky, the Freedom Party MEP, added fuel to the fire: “Van der Bellen likes it,” he wrote on Twitter, alluding to the Green Federal President’s headscarf slogan.

Van der Bellen famously caused irritation with this saying: “We will have to ask all women to wear a headscarf – out of solidarity.”In view of the massive protests by courageous women in Iran, this sentence is not really appropriate.

There has not yet been an official statement from the ORF management or the ZiB1 editors-in-chief on the strange headscarf appearance.

Islamic headscarf: for the European Union “freedom will be found by wearing the hijab”

A campaign that causes some controversy. A recent advertising campaign launched by the Council of Europe as part of its Inclusion and Anti-discrimination Programme, celebrating diversity and “freedom in hijab”, was denounced by several politicians in France and some called for the posters to be removed. The posters feature portraits of several veiled young women with the English-language message “Beauty is in diversity as freedom is in hijab”.

The campaign, which initially went relatively unnoticed and was co-financed by the European Union, eventually aroused the ire of internet users and numerous politicians such as Nadine Morano, who wrote to Ursula von der Leyen. “Madam President of the European Commission, I call on you to put an immediate end to this scandal of using EU funds for scandalous Islamist propaganda. This campaign is an insult to Iranian women who are dying for their freedom,” she tweeted on Wednesday September 28.

The acting national Rassemblement chair, Jordan Bardella, also reacted on social media, condemning the European Union’s attitude of “taking a new step in subjugation by promoting the Islamic veil worn by a little girl”. He added: “We should all be aware that this relativism and cowardice are preparing the ground for a victory of obscurantism on our continent”. This campaign shows in particular that religious freedom should not be confused with the promotion of a religious symbol.

Gun violence continues to grip Sweden as country surpasses previous record number of fatal shootings in a year

A record number of people have been murdered as a result of gun violence this year in Sweden — with a quarter of the year still to go.

In total, 48 people have been shot dead in 2022 across the country with the latest fatal shooting taken place in the southern city of Kristianstad on Thursday where a man in his 20s was murdered.

Like many of the reported cases, authorities have no suspects at this moment, according to officer Mikael Lund who spoke to Swedish broadcaster SVT.

The previous record year for fatal shootings was 2020 when 47 people were killed by guns — 35 had taken place by the end of September.

“We are the only EU country that has an increasing trend of firearm violence. In other countries, it is stagnant or decreasing, but here it has increased,” Manne Gerell, a criminology professor at Malmö University told SVT.

His remarks are corroborated in a 2021 report by the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention, which revealed that gun crime across Sweden was increasing at a faster rate than anywhere else in Europe.

One reason law enforcement has attributed to the rise in gun violence is the increase in criminal migrant gangs on Swedish streets as a result of high mass migration.

Reuters recently reported that there are now 61 areas across Sweden, “all with a high proportion of immigrants, listed by police as risk areas for rising gang violence.”

“These clans have come to Sweden solely to organize crime. They work to create power, they have a great capacity for violence, and they want to make money. And they do that through drug crimes, violent crimes, and extortion,” saidDeputy National Police Chief Mats Löfving, who made the remarks in 2020, garnering national headlines.

The public concern at the rise of violent crime contributed to the recent electoral success of the center-right and right-wing parties on Sept. 11. The Sweden Democrats, previously a relatively humble player in Swedish politics, became the country’s second-largest party after running on a ticket to combat mass migration and crime.

Following their electoral success, one of its MEPs, Charlie Weimers, told Nigel Farage on GB News that his party would be the government’s watchdog to ensure promises of stricter immigration controls and reforms to fight crime are implemented.

“We will be a change watchdog,” Weimers told the British news outlet. “We will make sure that action is actually taken to control migration, an area where the previous government failed utterly, and that we actually start to implement reforms to fight crime.

“You mentioned gun crime, we have shootings every night in Sweden. We have had 500 bombings during the last four years of Social Democratic rule in this country,” Weimers said.

The Sweden Democrats have previously called for a stop on all asylum claims except for Ukrainian refugees.

Makeshift memorial sites to remember the deaths of innocent bystanders to gun violence have become all too common in the Nordic country. A playground in the town of Eskilstuna became the center of attention in the lead up to the election earlier this month after a mother and her 5-year-old child were both injured in the crossfire of gang-on-gang violence.

In August, a man was shot dead at the Emporia shopping mall in the southern city of Malmo, with Swedish news outlet TV4 reporting the firing of around 20 shots as people fled in panic.

With a recent report by Gothenburg University’s Society, Opinion and Media Institute, cited by Reuters, revealing that 41 percent of Swedish voters say crime is their biggest concern, the new Swedish administration will need to swiftly make good on its promises to crack down on gang and gun violence to keep voters on their side.

London: Hindus protest outside Guardian office for biased reporting blaming Hindus for Leicester violence, ask them to tone down anti-India narrative

Hindus protested in front of the Guardian News office in London. Image Source: Twitter handle of Poonam Joshi

On 28th September 2022, Hindus in the United Kingdom gathered in front of the Guardian News office in London to protest against their biased reporting of the Leicester violence that painted the Hindu community in a bad light despite it being the victim of the incident in which a Hindu temple was vandalized. The biased reporting in The Guardian causing the outrage of the Hindu community is credited to journalists Jessica Murray, Aina J Khan, and Rajeev Syal. It is notable that, Aina J Khan had previously invoked RSS in the Leicester violence in which Islamists attacked Hindus.

After the protest, the protestors handed over a memorandum addressed to Katharine Viner, the editor of the Guardian, to the Chief of Security of the media house. One of the protestors said that they are very concerned about the very anti-Hindu bias and anti-India bias that Guardian has, and the media house is publishing articles daily condemning Hindus for various acts. He said that the Guardian articles are creating hate for Hindus in the country, and therefore the Hindu community is asking the Guardian to tone down their anti-India rhetoric. The person added that the anti-Hindu hate triggered by the newspaper can lead to conflicts and Hindus may be hurt in the process.

The Hindu community leader said that most of the articles are written by people in India with half-truths to further their anti-Hindu agenda, deliberately written to create an impression that Hindus are demonic people. “There is no standard of professional journalism in Guardian coming from Delhi,” he added. He called the protest today a warning to the Guardian, that they will keep coming there again and again if they don’t stop publishing anti-Hindu and anti-India content.

Before handing over the memorandum to the chief of security, he further asked Guardian to reconsider their agenda and said that they expect a response from the media house as soon as possible.

Several photos and videos of the protest in front of the Guardian office were posted on Twitter. The protesters were seen holding placards saying ‘Hindu Lives Matter’, ‘ Stop putting lives at risk’, ‘Guardian stop false narrative’, ‘Stop spreading fake news’, ‘Stop demonising Hindus’, ‘Hindu is peace’ etc.

Poonam Joshi is an Indian women’s rights activist in the UK. She tweeted, “We are not nazis, we are not fascists. Angry Hindus protesting outside the office of Guardian newspaper protesting against an article published branding them as extremists.”

One of the protesters said, “Stop penalizing us. Stop burning our temples. We are going to fight.”

Another protester said, “It’s turning here a protest against biased journalism of UK newspapers and media houses like Guardian and BBC. They call us the Hindu extremists while we are the most peace-loving people on earth. Here we have gathered to show our displeasure and condemnation of this biased journalism against Hindus. Hindus are victims of terrorism. Hindus are victims of attacks.”

It is notable that, when the violence broke out in Leicester, a journalist associated with UK-based leftist media outlet The Guardian, Aina Khan, tweeted about her ‘tense day’ while covering the Leicester violence. She claimed to have interviewed one Hindu man who was wearing a motorbike helmet and holding an Indian flag. Khan then claimed that the man in the helmet claimed he was an RSS supporter. She then added one disclaimer that the RSS was inspired by Italian dictator Mussolini.

Even in the second article that she wrote along with two co-writers, Hindus are painted in bad colours. The title of the article reads, ‘It feels like people want to fight’: how communal unrest flared in Leicester. In the body of the article, a Muslim councilor Ruma Ali is quoted to be saying “It’s been going on for months. It is calm for now but there will be reprisals. It feels like people want to fight.” Here, she is referring to Hindus in the locality. By giving such titles to the articles, Guardian and Aina J Khan tried to propagate that it is Hindus who actually want to fight, whereas Hindus are the victims of the Leicester violence. Hindus in London have therefore protested in front of the Guardian News office against such biased journalism against Hindus.

France: Incitement against Jews, gays and women at Salafist mosque in Obernai

The Ministry of the Interior is not letting up the pressure on the radical Islam front. According to our information, Gérald Darmanin requested that the mosque in Obernai (Bas-Rhin) will be closed. “This place of worship constitutes a place that facilitates the spread of a radical ideology, in particular through the statements of its imam, who shows an obvious hostility towards French society, spreads provocative statements hostile to republican values and encourages the faithful in this radical view,” assures Place Beauvau, which has targeted the imam. This fundamentalist cleric, who joined this mosque in 2017, is apparently known to have been practising radical proselytising in the Bas-Rhin département for about twelve years.

“Since his arrival, he has set about spreading a Salafist Islam that holds a retrograde view of Islam, is hostile to the West, multiplies provocative statements towards French society whose values he rejects, and thus encourages identitarian withdrawal and separatism,” the same source says.

Discrimination against Jews, homosexuals and women

The Salafist legitimises polygamy and calls for discrimination against Jews, homosexuals and women, towards whom he also justifies the violence committed by their husbands, especially in the case of adultery,” according to the Ministry of the Interior. The cleric is also accused of “also legitimising the use of violence against cartoonists and taking pleasure in the attacks on them; he makes conspiratorial comments about them and declares that they are orchestrated by the Islamophobic French state”.

According to Place Beauvau, these “statements and actions are all the more serious because the imam has a strong influence among young people who have been converted and radicalised under his influence, with some leaving France to study in Koranic schools in Egypt or Yemen”. Finally, the Interior Ministry analysts regretted that “all these statements and actions have never been the subject of any condemnation or repression by the chairman or vice-chairman of the association that manages this place of worship, or by its other members, so it must be assumed that they approve of them”. www.lefigaro.fr

Is the Great Reset finally starting to crumble?

By C.S. Boddie

The reset of the globalists’ Great Reset has begun in Europe.  Yay!  Americans may join Europeans in November and make the snowball bigger.

It seems that the grassroots have started a populist reset for sure, because mainstream media (MSM) in the USA and in other countries are slinging the word “fascist” out with abandon and fear-mongering.

On September 11, 2022, Swedish voters opted for a new direction for their country.  The voters may be very happy about that, but the Washington Post isn’t.

The left-leaning publication wrote this on September 14, 2022: “A loose coalition of right-wing parties has narrowly defeated Sweden’s center-left government in a general election, a victory that promises to upend Swedish politics and the country’s reputation as a haven for progressive, pluralistic ideals.”

The paper gave a fairly objective report of who the winners of the election were: Swedish Democrats (S.D.) led by Jimmie Akesson, a lawmaker, along with the Moderate, Christian, and Liberal parties, and they will form a government.

Also, the WaPo reported that Akesson wrote on Facebook that it is time to make Sweden good again.  Seems fairly mild, doesn’t it?  But the WaPo maligned the S.D. party in other paragraphs in the story with editorial comments about the party being anti-immigrant and having been created by right-wing extremists and neo-Nazis.

Maybe the Swedes have common sense; maybe they are not okay with globalists’ plans for Europe.

Moving on to England, earlier in September, the Conservative Party chose Liz Truss to become prime minister.  On September 6, Nathan Tan wrote for the Star, “The election of Liz Truss as the UK’s next prime minister calls to mind a noticeable trend worldwide of electing heads of government who aren’t, shall we say, what all would consider the sharpest tool in the shed.”

Shall we conclude that Tan is an elitist and that he is not the brightest bulb in the pack?  I think so.  And it seems obvious that mainstream media types liked the scheming of the globalists and are sad to see the Great Reset taken down by the little people.

Another political upset in Europe occurred on September 24, 2022, when Giorgia Meloni won the election for prime minister in Italy.  She leads the Brothers of Italy party.  The New York Post called Meloni far-right and reported that she is the first female prime minister in Italy.

Other media outlets were not that charitable.  Robert Saviano of The Guardianwrote on September 24 that Meloni is a danger to Italy and the rest of Europe.  He tied her to Mussolini because of her focus on God, family, and homeland.

Maybe Italians like her focus and want Italy to be Italy again, not just another dumping ground for immigrants from the Middle East and Africa?

The MSM in the USA wrote headlines including words to describe Meloni that were meant to gin up fear.  CNN used “far right” to describe Meloni; the New York Times advised caution and trepidation concerning her.  Then there were the liberal talking heads on cable news outlets who called Meloni a fascist.

Steve Hilton, a Fox News host, commented in an interview with Aisha Hosni, “Well, it’s amazing how they reach for that word almost instinctively.  And almost the most hilarious aspect of this … was last night on MSNBC I literally saw their sort of title for this election result in Italy was ‘Global Erosion of Democracy.’ So now, a free election that is won by someone they don’t like is called an erosion of democracy, and it just goes to show how actually extreme the left and their media supporters in America have become. … Anyone would think that actually they’re the ones moving in authoritarian direction.”

Scott McKay in the Spectator addressed the false narrative that fascism is on the right or the far right.  He wrote, “Perhaps the biggest lie told in the last 100 years on this planet is the one about fascism.  Specifically, that fascism is a ‘far-right’ phenomenon.

“It’s never been a particularly convincing lie.  Not when all of the self-avowed fascists who took power in the 20th century in places like Italy and Germany were quite outspoken in their belief that they were men of the left.”

The truth is that leftists, progressives, secular humanists, wokesters, and globalists want to have their way in the world, and their way is not the conservative road.  It is the elitist takeover and make-you-people-into-peasants road.  Well, we peasants are saying we don’t think so, not going to go along with your plan, through the politicians we are electing in Europe and in the USA.

I hope voters in the U.S. help reset the Great Reset by voting in conservative candidates locally and for Congress.  Let’s roll.
