India: Muslim vegetable vendor caught on video urinating on vegetables and selling them in Hindu majority localities

In the Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, Sharif, a vegetable vendor was beaten up by locals and handed over to the police after he was caught urinating on vegetables he was planning to sell in a Hindu majority area. Bareilly Police has registered a case against the accused. The video of the accused is going viral on social media.

The case is of the Izzatnagar area of Bareilly. A local, Durgesh Gupta, who lives in the city, was going out for some work in his car. Meanwhile, he noticed a 55-year-old elderly man pulling a vegetable cart on the colony’s roadside and urinating on the vegetables kept under the handcart. Durgesh recorded the vegetable seller as proof before confronting him, so he couldn’t deny it later.

Durgesh Gupta showed the video of Sharif urinating on the vegetables to the local people, who then thrashed Sharif black and blue. Harsh Bhardwaj, District President of Hindu Jagran Manch said, “This person has been selling veggies here for numerous years. Given Sharif’s age and hard labour, the majority of the people in the neighbourhood used to buy vegetables from him. However, people’s trust has been shattered as a result of this deed.”

According to Bareilly SSP Styarth Anirudh Pankaj, the accused vegetable vendor is still being questioned. He will be brought before the court. He is seen in the video urinating on the vegetables kept at the bottom of the handcart. During interrogation, it was learned that the individual’s name is Sharif and that he is a resident of Partapur Chaudhary police station, Izzatnagar. The accused Sharif has been arrested after a case was filed against him for disturbing the communal atmosphere, hurting religious sentiments, and spreading infection.

After Von der Leyen’s speech, the price of electricity increases by seven percent

It was a well-aimed shot in the foot: After Ursula von der Leyen’s speech, the price of electricity spiked… again.

The media and established politicians often dismiss the reality that rising energy prices are primarily a consequence of the EU’s Anglo-centric Ukraine and Russia policy. Facts do not support the claim that Putin is responsible for the rise in energy costs while the EU’s policy decisions have no impact.

Europe’s top politician, head of the Commission Ursula von der Leyen, once again provided a vivid example of this. She gave a flaming perseverance speech in Strasbourg and announced – similar to what Chancellor Scholz (SPD) and Federal Foreign Minister Baerbock (Greens) recently did – that the Europeans would continue to support Ukraine in the long term.

“Putin will fail, Ukraine and Europe will prevail,” declared von der Leyen, who had dressed up in the Ukrainian colors of yellow and blue for her performance in front of the European Parliament. The EU’s punitive measures against Russia are the toughest sanctions the world has ever seen. “This is the price of Putin’s trail of death and destruction.”

For the time being, of course, the price spike is another self-inflicted cost which European consumers will have to brave. Immediately after Van der Leyen’s solemn promises to curtail energy prices, the market reacted and the price of electricity shot up by an unbelievable seven percent.

The Russian leader was in Samarkand when Von der Leyen made her announcement, unaware of her latest suicidal policy announcement.

France: Two North Africans convicted of cyber financing terrorism in Syria

On Friday September 16, two people were found guilty in Paris of “criminal association” and “financing terrorism” in Syria, BFM TV reports. Sami A., a 26-year-old Franco-Algerian, received four years in prison, one of which was suspended, and Abderrahman C., a 23-year-old Franco-Moroccan, was sentenced to four years in prison, two of which were suspended. The two men do not know each other, but both worked on behalf of a trio belonging to the group HTS (Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham), a former branch of Al-Qaeda in Syria.

The two men shared numerous contents on social networks related to “jihadist propaganda”, whose followers they professed to be “at the time” of the offences. The exact reasons for their prosecution: they bought and transferred cryptocurrency tokens before opening online accounts for three members of the terrorist group. 280,000 euros were thus channelled by the trio between 2018 and 2020. The aim was to exchange the money for cryptocurrency via sympathisers based in Europe. The two persons standing trial admitted to the deeds in the trial and justified themselves by saying that they were neither aware of the dangerousness of their deeds nor did they know that they were working for ” combatants”.

Germany: An Iranian and an Afghan beat a man to death because he allegedly called the Iranian’s girlfriend a “slut”

The 30-year-old man who died in February as a result of a violent attack in Neubrandenburg had no chance of survival.

This is what the forensic medical expert, Britta Bockholdt from Greifswald, explained in the trial against the alleged perpetrators in Neubrandenburg on Tuesday.

“The victim had such massive brain injuries that there was no possibility of recovery,” the expert said. The man from Afghanistan had been beaten up in Neubrandenburg on February 7 and died as a result on February 18. “The cause was heavy kicks to the head,” said Bockholdt.

At the Neubrandenburg Regional Court, two men are facing charges of murder in this case. The 19-year-old Iranian and his 17-year-old acquaintance from Afghanistan are alleged to have lured the victim to a hiking trail at the Oberbach, severely abused him there and fatally injured him.

According to the public prosecutor’s office, the 30-year-old had called one of the 19-year-old’s girlfriends a “slut” beforehand. This was considered a “violation of honour”.

According to witnesses, the 19-year-old had already beaten the 30-year-old a few days earlier in Altentreptow for this reason and then attacked him for the second time on February 7.

The accused had fled, but had been seen by witnesses on the day of the attack and had been caught near the scene of the crime. During Tuesday’s trial, photos from the victim’s autopsy were also publicly shown and discussed during the expert testimony.

The victim’s brother, who is a joint plaintiff, and other spectators preferred to leave the courtroom beforehand.

A verdict in the trial, which continues on September 27, is expected at the end of September. The judge announced that a conviction for assault causing death is now also being considered.

German bakery handed €330,000 bill for gas consumption

The energy company E.on has demanded a significantly higher gas bill from the Hanoverian bakery owned by Eckehard Vatter, sending his company a bill of €330,000 for gas consumption over the past four months. In addition, the man has to pay the amount within 14 days, German news outlet Junge Freiheit reported.

“Are they crazy?” Vatter reacted indignantly, according to the Bild newspaper. “A year ago, we paid €5,856 per month in gas costs for our large furnaces and heating,” he explained.

The chief of the family business had formerly concluded a contract with a price guarantee until the end of 2023. However, it was allegedly suddenly terminated. Now, his new energy supplier is demanding a price increase of 1,200 percent. Vatter has not received a reason for the increased price.

Since his large bakery is a craft business under commercial law, he could not receive any support from the state. He claims to have paid around €19.9 million in taxes in recent years. That’s why Vatter recently took part in a demonstration in Hanover with approximately 1,000 colleagues under the motto: “Soon the oven will be turned off!”
