Austria: Afghan man stabs mother of 4 to death because he suspected she was exchanging SMS messages with another man

Boundless mania for control and jealousy allegedly led to a gruesome bloody deed last April. For this, a 44-year-old Afghan man stood trial today in Graz. The prosecutor accused him of killing his wife with 15 knife stabs: “It was an execution!”

At the trial, the accused testified that he attacked the mother of four (38) in a fit of rage because she had been typing on her mobile phone the night before instead of making dinner for the children. He believed she was texting with a man he had long considered a rival.

The next day, when the children had left for school, he then allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed his victim until the blade got stuck in her sternum, according to the indictment. The 44-year-old then surrendered.

Later investigations revealed that the woman had never been in contact with the alleged rival. “I did not intend to kill her. I regret it very much,” the Afghan confessed to the stabbings. At the time of going to press, the verdict was pending.

German helps an Afghan to get a job and the latter kills him in gratitude

In the trial for malicious murder before the Ulm Regional Court, the accused confessed to the crime.

At the beginning of the trial on Tuesday, the 24-year-old spoke in detail about the accusations and his relationship with the alleged victim. The accused admitted to stabbing his 54-year-old work colleague with a knife in June 2021.

The Afghan stated that he had learned of the death of his mother in Afghanistan the day before the crime. He blamed his colleague for this death.

The latter had brought bad things upon his family and he had therefore had to kill him. Shortly before the crime, he had said to the 54-year-old: “You killed my mother”. In several dreams, he had also seen animals that had come over him, the man testified in court.

According to the court, the accused had already received psychiatric treatment before. A psychiatrist is also participating in the trial as an expert witness.

According to his own statement, the accused was good friends with the family of the alleged victim. According to the accused’s testimony, the 54-year-old had procured the accused’s employment at the company in Munderkingen (Alb-Donau district) where both men worked during the crime.

According to a forensic technician, the 54-year-old suffered at least nine knife wounds – one of which went into the heart and was fatal.

300,000 march in Germany’s COVID-19 protests, four times higher than news media estimates

On Monday evening, the number of participants in the Covid-19 protests in Germany was significantly higher than reported by many media outlets, according to research conducted by German newspaper Junge Freiheit. For example, the Tagesschau.de news outlet’s headline claimed there were thousands of people in the streets, but that is more than an understatement. At best, “thousands” would apply maybe to the counter-demonstrators.

According to research conducted by Junge Freiheit, more than 300,000 people took part in the demonstrations against the Covid-19 measures across Germany. However, the figures from the German state of Hesse are still missing. Numerous media outlets, above all the DPA news agency, wrote that around 70,000 people had taken part in the protests.

On Tuesday, Junge Freiheit asked the relevant police departments in all federal states and city-states about the number of protesters involved, which produced a far higher number than figures being presented by outlets like DPA.

For example, in Baden-Württemberg, 64,700 people at 326 meetings took to the streets, reported the Interior Ministry in Stuttgart on Tuesday.

To the knowledge of the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior, around 140 meetings took place in Bavaria against the Covid-19 measures, and about 56,000 people participated.

In Saxony, the authorities counted around 39,648 demonstrators in 206 meetings, with only 65 of them being registered. In 141 cases, the participants protested without prior official registration.

In Brandenburg, the police headquarters in Potsdam were aware of 95 meetings attended by around 25,000 demonstrators.

According to the Erfurt state police headquarters, around 22,100 participants took part in 79 meetings in Thuringia, 66 of which were not registered.

According to the Ministry of the Interior in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, there were a total of 45 meetings on Monday. The police counted around 14,500 participants.

In Saxony-Anhalt, the Ministry of the Interior recorded 16,700 protesters in 59 meetings for those opposed to restrictive measures.

Lower Saxony counted 11,550 demonstrators and 168 assemblies, 23 of them registered. Most of the rallies were peaceful and trouble-free.

According to the police, 8,000 protesters gathered at 67 places in Schleswig-Holstein. Rhineland-Palatinate’s Ministry of the Interior reported 9,000 people at 85 meetings.

In Bremen and Hamburg, 350 and 900 citizens followed the calls for protest. There were a total of 11 events in Hamburg.

In Germany’s capital, the situation was different. Significantly more people gathered on Monday than in the past. According to the police headquarters in Berlin, a total of 6,500 people took part in more than 30 rallies throughout the city. However, this also included several counter-demonstrations with several hundred participants.

In Saarland, the state police headquarters recorded 1,300 demonstrators. In North Rhine-Westphalia, the Ministry of the Interior registered 197 meetings with 34,000 participants. These assemblies also included several counter-demonstrations. Overall, 5,000 participants attended registered counter-events.

Another three high profile vaccine victims

Juventus star striker Marco De Graca, Swiss sprinter and Olympic athlete Sarah Atcho and British punk icon Hazel O’Connor are the latest high profile vaccine victims.

De Graca, who made his Champions League soccer debut last month, will undergo heart surgery after he was diagnosed with heart arrhythmia. All players on the Juventus team are vaccinated except for goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny.

The news of De Graca’s heart problems after his jab comes shortly after Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies was diagnosed with myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle as a result of the vaccine.

On January 11, Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri stated during a press conference that “all the players are vaccinated, but Szczesny is the last one yet to be vaccinated and therefore he will not have a Green Pass”. Szczesny must be feeling particularly relieved that he did not take the shot.

Swiss sprinter and Olympic athlete Sarah Atcho was diagnosed with pericarditis shortly after receiving the Pfizer booster making her the second Swiss Olympic athlete this month to have been diagnosed with a heart condition after receiving the jab. On January 6, Swiss marathon record holder and Olympic athlete Fabienne Schlumpf announced the end of her career after she was diagnosed with myocarditis resulting from her booster.

British punk icon Hazel O’Connor was rushed to hospital last week after suffering “bleeding on the brain”, according to her brother. On January 9, the punk singer collapsed at her home in southwest France and was rushed to hospital. She has since been in an induced coma.

O’Connor had boasted about her booster shot on December 8 on Facebook.

In Orly, France, the municipality’s new halal butchery is not to its taste: “There are already six halal butcheries in the municipality. Now there is only one traditional butchery left that sells pork”

“We had specified in the lease that it should be a traditional butchery selling all kinds of meat. We have nothing against halal butchers, but we want to maintain a diverse range of shops in the municipality, as there are already six halal butchers in Orly. There is only one traditional butchery left that sells pork: Mr Gillard’s on Rue Jean-Racine. Now his business will cease within a year.” The building is in fact being demolished as part of the urban renewal of the neighbourhood.

Hamid Mounsi is somewhat doubtful: “If I start selling pork, I will only have a 20 % turnover and close down within a year,” he says. There are far more Muslim customers here. The rule of supply and demand regulates trade, not a town hall.” “The city has opened up to everyone because it is constantly trying to become bigger,” notes Françoise, whose three new neighbours are all “families with Tunisian backgrounds”.

[…]

Nabil, a customer of Mr Mounsi, confirms: “There was no halal butcher in the area before, and that was missing. Even non-Muslims can get their meat here, right?” The reverse case, on the other hand, is not conceivable, he concedes: “No, we don’t go to those who sell pork.” www.leparisien.fr
