‘You dirty Jew, you caused a massacre in Gaza”: Man was threatened and violently attacked in Villeurbanne, France

On Saturday March 8 at 10pm, the resident of Cours Damidot was attacked near the Damidot-Blanqui residence. Marc reports an outburst of violence that was as sudden as it was incomprehensible, accompanied by death threats and anti-Semitic insults. An investigation was launched.

Meanwhile, the driver parked a little further down the road and then approached Marc, saying that the rammed car should not have been in that spot. ‘An argument starts with the man, who seems to be very drunk. He asks me if I witnessed the incident and then starts shouting ‘I know you’re a Zionist, you’re a Jew, a dirty Jew, you massacred people in Gaza’.’ Marc tries to calm him down. ‘Then he became threatening towards me, threatening to kill me. He came very close to me and wanted to punch me, but I fended him off with a kick. He then got angry and I ran off in the direction of the park of the residential complex.’

At the Medipol, a doctor established the extent of the injuries: triple broken arm, various haematomas on the body, swollen face. Marc was issued with a medical certificate stating that he would be unable to work for 30 days. After his operation on Tuesday morning, the surgeon confirmed that Marc would not be able to drive for at least six weeks.
