A gang of migrants terrorises a district of Linz. They do not even shy away from the police. They torched a patrol car and fired firecrackers at the officers. “They should be locked up. That was a street fight, unbelievable,” says an elderly lady who witnessed the devastation.
It started with a loud bang. Firecrackers exploded everywhere. At first sporadically, then at ever shorter intervals. At 6.40 p.m. a neighbour called the police. Young people were rioting near the public cemetery in the south of Linz, and a young man was also holding a black canister. Police officers went on their way – and immediately became targets themselves. The youths fired missiles in the direction of the arriving patrol cars, then they took flight.

Auch das TikTok-Video ist ein deutliches Indiz für Täter mit Migrationshintergrund. Ich hoffe, die Polizei kann die mutmaßlichen Brandstifter rasch zur Rechenschaft ziehen! Für solche Randalierer ist in unserer Heimatstadt kein Platz!

When a patrol car crew wanted to get into their patrol car at around 8 pm, they were in for a nasty surprise: the car, which was parked opposite the primary school, was on fire – eXXpress reported. One of the youths had doused it with petrol and set it on fire. On Tuesday, a video of the incident appeared on the social platform TikTok. It was soundtracked by the music of a German rapper. The youth gang, which calls itself “La Casa Bariks 4030” (4030 is the postcode for the south of Linz), had recorded their crimes and proudly posted them on the internet, report the newspaper “OÖN”.
You can see about 20 youths, petrol being poured onto the streets and set on fire, the destroyed police car, the burning swing – and also the rocket that was fired towards the patrol car. One of the youths can also be heard swearing at the police officers as he flees. In the comments new attacks are announced: “Ebelsberg will become the capital of Austria. There’s more to come. Get ready.”
Linz city councillor for security Michael Raml (FP) yesterday called for consequences for the perpetrators. “Numerous residents in Ebelsberg report a youth group that has been terrorising their district with firecrackers and damage to property for some time,” he said. The TikTok video that has surfaced is a clear indication “of perpetrators with a migration background”. He hopes that the police can quickly bring the arsonists to justice.
