The Directorate General of Internal Security (DGSI) has arrested seven radicalised youths in Strasbourg suspected of preparing a violent action in France. The arrest took place on Friday November 18 and was reported by franceinfo on Thursday.
Of these seven people, five individuals were already known to the DGSI. Two others had only recently entered the country. They are Russian and Tajik nationals. According to a source close to franceinfo, there was no concrete evidence that they had started carrying out their planned violent action. Nevertheless, they were charged and remanded in custody.
The arrest came a week before the opening of the Christmas market in Strasbourg (photo above), which traditionally attracts 2 million visitors.
