German Christmas market attack suspect ‘made Boston Marathon-style terror threat’ before being granted asylum

Taleb al-Abdulmohsen arrested by the police. X

A Saudi doctor suspected of killing five people at a German Christmas market had allegedly threatened to carry out a terror attack two years before being granted asylum in the country.

Taleb al-Abdulmohsen, who is alleged to have driven an SUV into crowds at a festive market in Magdeburg on Friday evening, made threats of a “Boston Marathon-style” attack in 2013.

The threat came whilst he was seeking permission to practise as a psychiatrist in Germany.

When the German medical association requested additional paperwork, Abdulmohsen responded with a chilling warning, referencing the recent Boston bombing.

“Did you see what happened in Boston? Something similar will happen here too,” Abdulmohsen told the medical association over the phone.

The threat came just two days after Islamist terrorists had detonated two bombs during the Boston Marathon, killing three people and leaving hundreds injured.

The medical association immediately reported the incident to police.

Though an investigation found Abdulmohsen had no concrete plans for an attack, he was fined €900 for a public order offence.

The incident marked the beginning of a pattern of concerning behaviour from the Saudi doctor.

In 2014, authorities in Mecklenburg alerted Germany’s federal anti-terror unit after Abdulmohsen threatened to do something that would “receive international attention”.

The warning appeared to have been ignored, and he was never added to the federal police’s list of dangerous political extremists.

Instead, Abdulmohsen was granted asylum in 2016, claiming he would face persecution in Saudi Arabia.

Police attempted to interview him at least twice over public safety concerns, with the most recent attempt occurring last year.

When officers failed to find him at home in December, they did not pursue the matter further.

Abdulmohsen, described as a former Muslim, had positioned himself as a vocal critic of Islam.

He claimed to have helped hundreds of “non-believers” escape Saudi Arabia, where they would have faced persecution for apostasy.

Shortly before the market incident, he alleged German authorities were secretly persecuting former Muslims and attempting to return refugees to Saudi Arabia.

The case has echoes of previous security failures in Germany.

In 2016, an Islamist who killed twelve people at a Berlin Christmas market had been under surveillance but evaded authorities.

More recently, an Islamic State terrorist who attacked a street festival in August was meant to be deported but remained at large.

Irish Times Op-ed: Christianity is a Hate Crime

Clonmacnoise, Wikimedia Commons, Ingo Mehling, CC-BY-SA-3.0

Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar recently announced the closure of the country’s embassy in Ireland, citing “extreme anti-Israel policies” including Ireland’s decision to recognize a Palestinian state and its support for South Africa’s legal action against Israel in the International Court of Justice (ICJ). In response, Justine McCarthy at The Irish Times penned an opinion piece defending her country against Sa’ar’s “abominable” accusation that Ireland is antisemitic.

In the process, she hurls the usual progressive smears at Israel for “their government’s protracted killing spree in Gaza and the illegal settlements in the West Bank,” and she uncritically accepts the illegitimate ICJ’s false claim that half a million Jews live in illegal settlements on land “expropriated from Palestinians.” Compared to Israel’s purported abuses against Palestinians, such as “the mass killings and orphaning of children,” she asserts that her own government’s anti-Israel policies are merely “gentle nudges towards a peaceful two-state resolution.”

Apart from the fact that a two-state resolution will be anything but peaceful, and that the Palestinians themselves have repeatedly rejected offers of a two-state solution anyway, at the core of McCarthy’s article is the argument that religion historically has been and continues to be the source of untold human misery.

A mere few days away from Christmas at the time of publication, McCarthy had the gall to muse on how much more smoothly and peacefully history would have proceeded if the Christ Child had been slaughtered by King Herod in his infamous Massacre of the Innocents:

Next Wednesday, Christians and many others around the world will celebrate the birth of a child who became one of the greatest influencers of all time. On that night roughly 2,000 years ago, shepherds and wise men gathered at a stable in wondrous joy at the virgin birth while yonder in Bethlehem, or so St Matthew’s unsubstantiated gospel goes, soldiers butchered scores of infant boys. Had the baby Jesus been among the massacred innocents, might history have turned out to be less hellish for humanity? The Spanish Inquisition might not have happened, nor the Crusades, the French Wars of Religion, the Thirty Years’ War, or the Troubles in Northern Ireland.

Aside from her dismissive reference to Jesus as a great “influencer” – as if he were merely the first-century equivalent of an Instagram model, did you catch how McCarthy calls the Massacre of the Innocents “unsubstantiated”? It is no more “unsubstantiated” than countless other events in antiquity for which we do not have independent confirmation but plenty of circumstantial evidence. The slaughter of all male toddlers in Bethlehem and its environs to prevent a foretold King of the Jews from threatening his rule is perfectly consistent with Herod’s cruel and paranoid character, for which there is plenty of evidence. But because the Massacre is referenced only in the Bible (the gospel of Matthew, to be precise), McCarthy can’t resist sideswiping it.

She goes on to claim falsely that The Great Big Book of Horrible Things by Matthew White cites religion as the primary cause of 100 of the world’s deadliest atrocities. In fact, White concludes from his rough estimates that belief in a god is responsible for only about 10% of the “multicides” on his list, and the number of victims he ascribes to religion throughout all history – 47 million – is still 20 million fewer than those he ascribes to godless communism in the 20th century alone (and his estimate of deaths under communism is on the conservative side). Nonetheless, McCarthy proclaims vaguely that religion’s “abuse has killed legions of human beings down through the centuries” and that its “consequences can be cataclysmic.”

This notion that religion has only made the world more violent and hateful is a common bigoted position held by smug atheists like comedian Bill Maher who never acknowledge two key points: 1) the immeasurable good wrought by religion and 2) the bottomless human misery wrought by godlessness. McCarthy obliviously and ironically cites, for example, Karl Marx’s oft-repeated dismissal of religion as “the opiate of the masses” yet makes no mention of the fact that Marx (another one of “the greatest influencers of all time”?) is the architect of, at a minimum, tens of millions of deaths and worldwide misery and suffering attributable to his utopian dream of a collectivist, irreligious society in which the State replaces God.

As another example of the evil she believes religion has spawned, McCarthy inexplicably refers to Adolf Hitler, who “despised the Jews so much that he and his collaborators had six million of Europe’s 11 million Jews murdered by death squads and in concentration camp gas chambers.” Anyone who has been to a Holocaust museum, she says, “needs no instruction in the barbarity that religious hatred can cause.”

Huh? Is she claiming that Hitler’s targeting of Jews is an example of religious hatred? Wouldn’t it be an example of godless hatred directed at a religious group?

In any case, the fact that The Irish Times would publish this offensive nonsense on the cusp of Christmas is a sad commentary on the continuing freefall of what used to be known as Christendom. Ireland was one of the earliest centers of the flourishing of Christianity in the wake of the fall of the Roman Empire. Indeed, the late scholar Thomas Cahill even wrote a book arguing that the Irish “saved civilization.” Monasticism was introduced into Ireland by St. Patrick in the 5th century; by the year 600 the Church in Ireland had become the most monastic in all Christendom. Monasteries there (as elsewhere on the continent) were centers of learning and of the preservation of classical works by monks copying manuscripts such as the illuminated Book of Kells. Pictured above, for example, is the 6th-century Clonmacnoise Monastery on the banks of the River Shannon.  The monastery was a great seat of learning that drew students from all over Europe. Its ruins, which now tragically symbolize a moribund Christian civilization, include a cathedral, nine churches and over 700 early Christian gravestones.

But today we inhabit a post-Christian world. According to the 2022 census, 69% of the residents of the Republic of Ireland described themselves as Catholics. That is down from 79% in 2016, 84% in 2011, and over 90% in the 2006 census. The number of people describing themselves as having “no religion” in tiny Ireland is up by 284,269 since 2016. Only 27% of the population attended weekly Mass in 2020 – down from 91% in 1975.

In a recent article at FrontPage Mag, my Freedom Center colleague Daniel Greenfield points out that Ireland is in the process of committing autogenocide through demography:

In the last 20 years, Ireland, a small nation of millions, has been overwhelmed by a mass migration of 1.6 million people. In 2023, there were 54,678 births in the Republic of Ireland and 141,600 immigrants. Birth rates dropped 5% in 2023… but the number of immigrants grew by 31%. And will grow further.

The most popular name for boys was Jack, among Irish parents, while the most popular name among non-European immigrant parents was ‘Mohammed’.

Greenfield continues:

Churches are closing across Ireland and mosques are opening in their place. There were only 400 Muslims in all of Ireland in 1991. That shot up to 19,000 in 2002 and 83,000 in 2023. 3% of Ireland’s children are Muslim now and the numbers are increasing every year.

The collapse of Christian Ireland is such that The Irish Times and Justine McCarthy are perfectly comfortable insulting – at Christmastime, no less – the diminishing Christian population and defending a Palestinian people whose Muslim brethren are well on their way to Islamizing Ireland. Then they will find out that religions are not all the same.

German Government Funds Research Project Labeling Transphobia, Criticism Of Gender Self-Determination Laws A “Threat To Democracy”

The German federal government was responsible for funding a research project labeling “organized transphobia” a threat to democracy. The project, which was made in collaboration with a trans-identified male known for threatening violence against women he disagrees with, classifies those opposed to Germany’s radical gender self-identification laws as “enemies” of society.

Days ago, the Institute for Democracy and Civil Society (IDZ Jena) published a brochure reporting the outcome of a research project it had undertaken on “Organized Transphobia: Concepts, Actors, Narratives, and Counter-Strategies.” In the 92-page release, it concluded that transphobia poses a danger to democratic co-existence and outlines strategies to tackle radical feminists who define biological sex as binary.

The research project, published in collaboration with the Federal Association for Transgender People (BVT), was funded by the German government through the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, which provided it a total of 228,833 Euros.

The project portrays feminists critical of gender ideology as enemies of the state who, together with right-wing extremists, pursue a political agenda to maintain an “endo-cis-binary gender system” – something that is deemed incompatible with the “principles of liberal democracy.”

The research itself claims it was conducted using a “scientifically grounded foundational work” and empirical surveys in the form of interviews with so-called “experts” who were all part of the “queer community.” Most of the project’s main researchers and the authors are transgender, according to their self-describing statements.

One of those “experts” is a trans-identified male named Mine Wenzel, formerly known as Benjamin, who goes by the pseudonym  “Mine Pleasure Bouvar.”

Wenzel, who identifies as a “non-binary lesbian femme,” has previously been invited to act as an expert for state-funded projects and lectures. He is well-known for his calls for violence against women, and has accused lesbians of bigotry for declining to have sex with trans-identified males.

In a 2021 article by the Heinrich Böll Foundation titled “TERFs False Friends – Feminism for Privileged Women,” Wenzel labeled feminists who advocate for their sex-based rights as FARTs, claiming they maintained an “outdated” understanding of biology to secure their privileges.

Together with the Robert Koch Institute, a German federal agency and biomedical research center, Wenzel also developed a questionnaire for a study on the “sexual health of transgender individuals,” in which women and girls are referred to as “people with short urethras” whose primary genital organs are called a “front hole” or “pussy.”

Wenzel has also previously worked under his pseudonym “Mine Pleasure Bouvar” as an anti-discrimination and education trainer invited by German universities to give lectures on “transmisogyny.”

Disturbingly, while hosting his own podcast series, Wenzel admitted to masturbating while wearing his sister’s clothing and pretending to be a female character from Japanese animation.

In the document published by IDZ Jena, Wenzel was one of the experts who called for the creation of more taxpayer-funded initiatives to combat “transphobia” in Germany, adding that schools should participate in the “decriminalization of trans-people” through educational initiatives targeting youth. Additionally, the report calls for a national monitoring system for “transphobic hate crimes” in order to make transphobia visible as a threat to democracy.

Much of the research revolved around condemning critical attitudes towards Germany’s new gender self-identification bill.

The bill was first introduced in April of 2024, when the German Bundestag voted for the Self-Determination Act, which allows people to simply change their sex and first name at the registry office and threatens with a fine of €10,000 if someone reveals their previous first name and real sex. The Act came into effect on November 1.

Politicians who have expressed concerns about the bill and its impact on women and children have been faced criticism, even from within their own parties.

As previously reported by Reduxx, Germany’s Free Democratic Party (FPD) is seeking to prohibit the re-election of two female members who voted against the law. Katja Adler and Linda Teuteberg are the only two women in the FDP who voted against the law, with both expressing concerns about the implications gender ideology has for women’s safety. As a result, the FDP is seeking to remove both of them from standing in the upcoming election, and replace them with members who supported the Self-Determination Act.

UK: Suspected Isis terrorist who ‘recently converted to Islam’ accused of plotting mustard gas attack

Wikimedia Commons, GrimsbyT, CC-BY-SA-3.0

A man suspected of becoming an Isis terrorist has been accused of plotting an attack using mustard gas, a court has heard.

Jordan Richardson, 20, of Oliver Close in Goolem appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday accused of engaging in conduct in preparation of an act of terrorism.

He was arrested on December 19 after allegedly posting on Instagram in support of the Isis terrorist group.

When he was arrested, authorities found a document that appeared to set out an attack plan, referencing weapons and killing bystanders.

In addition, police found a crossbow and knife when searching Richardson’s home.

The 20-year-old also reportedly had a recipe for sulphur mustard, a chemical warfare agent that causes severe burns.

David Hawthorne, for the prosecution, told the court that experts assessed the recipe as viable and was the kind of substance that could be used in a grenade.

He also said that Richardson’s internet history showed that he had recently converted to Islam.

Searches of his electronic devices separately indicated that he had allegedly expressed a desire to harm and kill so-called infidels and members of the Jewish community.

A potential target included a shopping center.

District judge Annabel Pilling remanded him in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on January 17.

Detective Chief Superintendent James Dunkerly, the head of Counter Terrorism Policing North East said: “This case will understandably cause significant concern to local communities, in particular due to the time of year and following the tragic events in Germany at the weekend.”

“For Counter Terrorism Policing and its partners, public safety remains our priority at all times and an extensive and thorough investigation has led to the charges brought today.

“Despite this, the UK threat level remains substantial, and history has shown us we can’t afford to be complacent.”

Trumpism is Going Global – Buckle your seatbelts

Buckle your seatbelts because President-elect Donald Trump has ignited a worldwide revolt against the arrogance of global elites.

We are entering a brand-new era of rebellion — man against the self-serving, out-of-touch political machines that ignore the will of the governed.

Everywhere.

Look around.

The world is a mess. Entrenched political leaders and parties are being tumultuously evicted in Europe, South America, the Middle East and Asia. In Britain, the Conservative Party grew government, lost its moorings and was chased from office, only to be replaced by an economically incompetent Labour Party that came into office, raised taxes on everything and everyone, and has plunged the economy into recession. France just ousted its prime minister for the first time in decades, thrusting the “country into chaos,” as CNN put it.

Germany’s government is also on the verge of collapse. Chancellor Olaf Scholz has been forced to request a vote of confidence later this month. Good luck with that. The Associated Press reports “his three-party coalition” government collapsed last month.

In South Korea, the president invoked martial law, and now the citizens are demanding his impeachment.

In Japan, “the party (that) has ruled the country almost continuously” since 1955, according to BBC, was voted out in October.

Mexico and Canada have elected leftist boobs who are losing support by the day.

Way ahead of the pack is Argentina, where the “shock capitalist” President Javier Milei, who says “I despise the state government,” won election a year ago and is an overnight international hero for his chainsaw approach to shrinking big government.

Now is the hour of the entire world’s discontent.

Why are the dominoes of government tumbling so suddenly?

One word: Trump. The whole world has watched with fascination and even admiration at the peaceful citizen uprising in America. The masses around the world are screaming: We want Trumpism here in our country. They seem to be saying: Make Britain great again. Make Germany and Japan and Korea and Canada great again.

The politicians, bureaucrats and elite academics are horrified. They should be.

The anger at the political class is boiling over with scalding resentment against government incompetence, fiscal mismanagement and statist directives that snatch away basic freedoms.

They have commanded us that you can’t have a gas stove or a gas car or a lawnmower or an air conditioner. Parents can’t send their kids to good schools.

My, how the tables have turned. The politicians who profess to care so much about the working classes are now despised by the voters.

The masses around the world are seeing the bounce in America’s step in the wake of the Trump election. The Trumpian message of prosperity, efficiency, fairness, home rule and love of country.

It’s a virtual certainty that voters everywhere are going to demand common-sense Trumpian policies in their own towns and countries. As Trump has said, every leader should put their own country first. Global government is dead for now.

It’s a grassroots power-to-the-people movement — something the Left once believed in.

I wouldn’t want to be Russian President Vladimir Putin or Chinese President Xi Jinping or French President Emmanuel Macron or Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, or Scholz, right now. The Trumpians are coming for you.

Good riddance.

German authorities ‘ignored warnings about alleged Magdeburg attacker’

Screengrab X

After the deadly terror attack on a Christmas market in Magdeburg, the capital of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, it has emerged that German officials received several warnings about the alleged perpetrator over the past few years but failed to act on them.

At least five people – four women and a nine-year-old boy – have died after the suspect named only as “Taleb A” allegedly drove a 4×4 vehicle into the crowded market square on December 20.

More than 200 people were injured, dozens critically. The attacker ploughed through the crowds for 400 metres swerving left and right before being stopped and arrested by police.

Over the weekend it has become clear that Taleb A – a Saudi national who came to Germany as an asylum seeker in 2006 and worked as a psychiatrist – was well known in Germany as a supposed critic of Islam. His account on X had more than 10,000 followers.

In 2013, Taleb A had reportedly allegedly threatened to commit a terror attack in a communication with the Chamber of Physicians of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The police searched his apartment but found no indication of an imminent attack. He was later fined for “threatening to commit a crime”. Despite that, he was granted asylum in Germany in 2016.

After the incident in Magdeburg it was claimed by former colleagues that Taleb A had some time ago been banned from working at one hospital after he allegedly prescribed patients potentially lethal medication.

In August 2023, he reportedly posted on X: “A purely philosophical question: Would you resent me for indiscriminately killing twenty Germans because Germany is working against the Saudi opposition?”

Several X users have now posted screenshots of their correspondence with German police in which they said they tried to warn them of Taleb A’s alleged plans. These were apparently not acted upon. In many cases, the users did not speak German and the German authorities seemed unable or unwilling to converse in English.

After a threatening e-mail to the Prosecutor’s Office in Cologne in 2023, Taleb A received a letter from police telling him “to stop writing such letters”.

Peter Neumann, a terrorism expert, told German state TV on December 22 that Taleb A may have been disregarded by German police because he was not seen as a typical Islamist but a Saudi who opposed Islam.

Ali Utlu, a prominent German ex-Muslim commentator, alleged on X on December 22 Taleb A had repeatedly threatened him and other ex-Muslims. According to Utlu, Taleb A also said that as a Shia Muslim he recognised Wahhabism as the “true religion”.

Utlu claimed that while he had received requests for interviews from international media including the BBC, German media had not approached him.

“It seems in Germany they are only interested in one side,” he wrote on X, also on December 22.

Heartbroken mother shares tribute to nine-year-old son killed in German Christmas market attack – ‘Let my little teddy bear fly’

The nine-year-old has been named as André Gleißner. Facebook/Désirée Gleißner

A tribute has been paid to nine-year-old André Gleißner, who was killed in Friday’s devastating attack on a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany.

The young boy was a member of the children’s fire brigade in Warle, about an hour’s drive from where the tragedy occurred, the Schöppenstedt fire department confirmed.

André was among five people who lost their lives when a car ploughed through crowds of shoppers at the festive market. The other victims were four women, aged 45, 52, 67 and 75.

André‘s mother, Désirée, wrote on Facebook: “Let my little teddy bear fly around the world again. André didn’t do anything to anybody. He was only with us on earth for nine years. Why you? Just why?”

The attack, which took place around 7pm local time on Friday, saw a black BMW SUV drive 400 metres through the crowded market at speed, driving over some people and flinging others into the air.

More than 200 people were injured in the attack, with 41 currently in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. The injured are being treated at 15 clinics across the country.

Forensic scientists are investigating whether the suspect deliberately turned off the emergency braking mechanism on the hired BMW X3 to maximise its impact. Prosecutors said the attacker had bypassed security bollards by using a corridor meant for emergency service vehicles to enter the market.

Eyewitnesses described watching in horror as the car appeared to specifically target a fairytale-themed section of the market where families with young children had gathered. The Magdeburg Christmas market remains closed, with most lights in the city centre turned off following the tragedy.

The suspect, identified as 50-year-old Taleb al-Abdulmohsen, is in police custody and has been charged with five murders and 200 attempted murders. Al-Abdulmohsen, a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, came to Germany in 2006 and applied for asylum a decade later.

He was apprehended by armed police minutes after the attack in a dramatic altercation near the battered BMW.

Chief state prosecutor Horst Walter Nopens said the suspect’s motivation “could be he was dissatisfied with the way in which Saudi Arabian refugees were dealt with in Magdeburg.”

The attacker had previously warned on social media that “something big will happen.”

The timing of the attack was particularly poignant, coming almost eight years to the day since an Islamist terrorist attack on Berlin’s Breitscheidplatz Christmas market killed 12 people.

One city official summed up the mood simply: “Christmas is over in Magdeburg.”

Child Molester Among Three Transgender Inmates Suing Florida In ACLU-Backed Demand For “Gender Affirming Care”

The ACLU has filed a lawsuit on behalf of multiple trans-identified male inmates in Florida who allege that a new policy prohibiting “gender affirming care” amounts to a violation of their Eighth Amendment Right against cruel and unusual punishment. Among the three named in the lawsuit, one is a convicted pedophile who sexually abused two 10-year-old girls.

On September 30, 2024, the Florida Department of Corrections established Health Services Bulletin 15.05.23, entitled “Mental Health Treatment of Inmates with Gender Dysphoria.” The new policy stipulates that “state law prohibits the Department from expending any state funds to purchase cross-sex hormones for the treatment of gender dysphoria.” The Bulletin represented a deviation from previous state policy, which had allowed for both cross-sex hormones and other accommodations to be provided to trans-identified inmates.

Inmates in FDOC care were given 30 days to comply with the policy, which also included turning over any feminine undergarments they had been provided and cutting their hair.

In response to the policy change, the ACLU of Florida filed a lawsuit on behalf of four trans-identified male inmates, arguing that the Bulletin violated their rights against cruel and unusual punishment.

The primary inmate named in the suit is Reiyn Keohane, a trans-identified male serving a 15-year sentence for attempting to murder his female roommate in 2013. Keohane had become enraged and stabbed the woman in the throat before fleeing the crime scene on a moped.

Reiyn Keohane. Photo courtesy the Florida Department of Corrections.

The victim was able to alert a neighbor for help and identify Keohane as her attacker before losing consciousness. When arrested, Keohane was found with two knives and an AR15 clip. He was ultimately sentenced to 15 years in prison and is currently incarcerated at the Wakulla Correctional Institution Annex in Crawfordville.

In 2016, Keohane sued the FDOC after he was denied cross-sex hormones. Two years later, a court ruled in his favor and ordered the FDOC to accommodate his demands for “gender affirming care” and “female grooming standards.” Keohane’s 2016 suit resulted in the FDOC instituting the policy on “gender affirming care” which has now been rescinded.

Keohane is now the main plaintiff in an ACLU-backed lawsuit tackling the FDOC’s newest policy, which prohibits the state use of funds towards “gender affirming care” for inmates. He has been joined by three other named inmates so far.

A second plaintiff that has submitted a testimony in the lawsuit is George “Sasha” Mendoza, a trans-identified male convicted of both first and second degree murder in 1985.

In his statement, Mendoza, 53, claims he had known his “gender identity” since he was 15 years old, and began transitioning while in the custody of the FDOC.

George “Sasha” Mendoza. Photo courtesy the Florida Department of Corrections.

“I love wearing make-up. Even though I can only do it inside the dorm, I would look forward to being able to wear it. It makes me feel more like a woman. I feel better and don’t feel like a man,” Mendoza writes in his testimony. “Being able to receive hormone therapy and follow female clothing and grooming standards has made it possible for me to live as the woman I am and, thus, alleviated the painful distress of gender dysphoria.” Mendoza is currently incarcerated at the Dade Correctional Institution.

The third plaintiff named in the case is Matthew “Michelle” Ward, 53, a convicted child rapist serving a life sentence for the sexual abuse of two young girls.

According to a 1993 article from the Tampa Bay Times, Ward victimized two 10-year-old girls from his neighborhood after offering to babysit them. According to one of the victims who testified against Ward in court, “he brought us into the bedroom and did nasty stuff to us.” Ward was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences for sexual battery.

Matthew “Michelle” Ward. Photo courtesy the Florida Department of Corrections.

Testimony provided by Ward to the ACLU claims that the convicted child sexual abuser has “known [his] gender identity is female” since he was a young boy.

“I am a 53 year-old transgender woman in the custody of the Florida Department of Corrections… I have known my gender identity is female since between ages 8 and 10… I tried to cut my penis off when I was 10… I began socially transitioning – wearing female-typical clothing, hairstyles, and cosmetics – at age 15.”

Ward stated that he was diagnosed with gender dysphoria in May 2019 by Dr. Gascon while he was incarcerated at Dade Correctional Institution. He was then provided with a bra and “female undergarments, hair accessories, and makeup” and stopped cutting his hair.

After Dade Correctional authorities recalled the feminine underwear that had been given to male inmates who claimed to be women, Ward said he felt “naked and humiliated” without his bra. “My breasts were evaluated by medical on October 10 and I was told I did not qualify for a bra. I have a B cup.”

Ward also claims that he was ordered to have his hair cut, and that during the process he “cried the whole time.”

“The loss of my hair, along with female undergarments and makeup, has been earth-shattering for me. The thoughts about self-castration and suicidality that I experienced before treatment came flooding back like a tidal wave. I stay awake crying many nights.”

The case is proceeding through the courts, and while the ACLU has filed for an injunction to temporarily allow trans-identified males in FDOC custody to receive “gender affirming care,” the court has not yet made a decision on the request.

The ACLU has pursued multiple lawsuits in several states against the US prison authorities on behalf of men convicted of horrific crimes. As revealed by Reduxxa 2019 ACLU lawsuit against the New Jersey Department of Corrections which required the state to allow violent male inmates to self-identify into the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women was lodged on behalf of a self-admitted diaper fetishist and convicted terrorist.

In September, the ACLU in Indiana successfully fought to have a transgender baby killer be given taxpayer-funded “gender affirming” surgeries. Yesterday, the United States District Court of Indiana ruled that Autumn Cordellioné, born Jonathan C. Richardson, had been subjected to “cruel and unusual punishment” by being denied the various plastic surgeries he had demanded.

Last year, the ACLU of Florida criticized officials for not providing “gender-affirming care” to a convicted rapist and murderer prior to his execution. Duane Owen had been handed a death sentence after brutally murdering a 38-year-old mother and a 14-year-old girl in 1984. Owen claimed that he sexually assaulted women as part of a ritual to harvest their hormones, and that he was a transsexual who carried out the sexual violence to “turn himself into a female.”
