District Court Berlin-Tiergarten. Accused: Islam A. (36). Stateless Palestinian. State-certified physiotherapist.
The charge: sexual abuse of three female patients by exploiting a medical therapy session, combined with rape and sexual assault.
A teacher (33) came in with shoulder pain: panties down, hands between her buttocks and worse. He pulled down the trousers of an employee (58) and massaged her buttocks: “Take it easy!” He was sacked from the practice. Immediately found a new workplace.
Shortly afterwards, the next sexual offence took place there: a young Arab woman (22) had pain in her neck, he kneaded her breasts long and hard: “I’m looking for pain!” Then he pulled down her trousers and grabbed her crotch. The woman first called her husband, then the police. The perpetrator was sacked.
Now he is in court and wants to spare the three women from having to testify. Only a confession will save him from jail. So he admits everything. He gets off with a two-year suspended prison sentence. Plus 2500 euros in damages for the teacher, who still needs therapy for her damaged mental health.
The therapist with the dirty fingers found a new job straight away. Nothing more is said to have happened since then. If the judgement becomes final, he may be banned from his profession.
