Marine Le Pen, the chairwoman of the RN group in the National Assembly blasted “a European Union hysterical about the war in Ukraine calling inappropriate and ill-considered sanctions” against Russia.
On international issues, Marine Le Pen also denounced a “hallucinating speech of Mrs. Von der Leyen“, the president of the European Commission, about the conflict in Ukraine and Russia, reproaching her “dangerous bellicose postures”.
Le Pen celebrated the “patriotic wave” in Europe, in Sweden or “tomorrow” in Italy and “the day after tomorrow” in the Netherlands, also promising France a “great political shift”, in Agde (Hérault) during the Summer University of the National Rally (RN) on September 18.
She received a standing ovation when she went on stage. The finalist of the presidential elections judged “inexorable” this “great return of the nations of Europe”, a “political revolution” and “a disavowal of a European Union” which is “not even federal but imperial”.
These “popular and national movements” won “yesterday in Sweden, tomorrow in Italy, probably the day after tomorrow” in the Netherlands with “the courageous and peaceful peasant revolt that is taking place there” in the face of “Dutch globalist power”, she said, after the unprecedented victory of a combination of right-wing and nationalists in the Swedish parliamentary elections.
In Italy, a coalition bringing together Giorgia Meloni’s Fratelli d’Italia (nationalists, eurosceptics) and Silvio Berlusconi’s Forza Italia (liberal right) is considered the favourite for the legislative elections of 25 September.
In an informal discussion with journalists, Marine Le Pen explained that she has known Giorgia Meloni “for a long time”, even though the RN’s “historical ally” is the League of former interior minister and current senator Matteo Salvini.
In France, with the formation of a group of 89 RN deputies following the June legislative elections, Marine Le Pen described “a major electoral revolution”, “the greatest victory the national movement has seen in its 50 years of existence”.
This “lays the foundation for the great political changeover”, she said in this return speech on the theme of “alternation for France”. “She also said that only the Rassemblement National could oppose immigration.
“Macron wants to impose on you the installation, in your villages, of an immigration that you did not ask for. This additional immigration is the overflow of the one that saturates the metropolises and makes certain districts almost unlivable.
“For Emmanuel Macron and his friends, for almost all the political class, immigration is not a problem but a project,” said Le Pen.
“We are living a democratic uprising against the yoke of these corrupting and destructive ideologies: globalism, business, immigration, wokism, minorities, the dictatorship of extremist groups speaking in the name of minorities who ask for nothing.
“We have experienced a major electoral revolution, a peaceful revolution, a democratic revolution, an event that lays the foundation for the great political shift that will be necessary. I believe that this movement is inexorable.”
She added: “Don’t forget that it is with the eminent and rare qualities that you have shown that France has always risen from the difficult situations to which history has led it. The commentators won’t tell you this, but now they know and respect the strength of your convictions, your spirit of discipline, your admirable sense of camaraderie, your incredible capacity for resilience.”
With Le Pen, France has the opportunity to implement a programme that would mark a real break in French foreign policy. In addition to the desire to withdraw from the rules of the European Union, the Rassemblement National’s programme foresees an exit from the integrated command of NATO.
The RN is holding its Summer Universities from 16 to 18 September in the seaside resort of Cap d’Agde, with speeches on the closing day by Louis Aliot and Jordan Bardella, who are both running for the party presidency at the congress scheduled for early November.
