Yesterday, Saturday, the daily newspaper heute reported on the current Corona situation, especially in Lower Austria. According to the report, there were 4,460 new infections and 67 deaths within one day.
In Lower Austria, 856 of these new infections were registered and 16 people died:
Of the 16 Corona deaths, 13 patients were vaccinated.
This corresponds to 81.25 per cent of the Corona deaths in Lower Austria shortly before the weekend.
“Reduces the risk considerably” – really?
Nevertheless, the Ministry of Health states on its website that the Corona vaccination “significantly reduces the risk of contracting severe Covid-19”.
It is also shown graphically that currently “68 out of 100 people in Austria are protected against Corona with the vaccination” because they have been vaccinated. And underneath it is written:
The Corona vaccination works.
Based on the data from two days ago, we note: 68 percent of Austrians are vaccinated, the share of vaccinated people in the Corona deaths in Lower Austria is 81.25 percent. Shouldn’t it rather say: “The Corona vaccination does not work, on the contrary”?
