Hundreds of people – relatives, elected representatives and anonymous – gathered in Lillers on Monday afternoon for the funeral of 12-year-old Lola, whose brutal murder had shaken the country. The funeral service began at 2.30pm in the collegiate church of this small town in the Pas-de-Calais department, near Béthune, where the girl’s family has its roots.
