After the Romanian authorities canceled the first round of elections won by anti-Globalist Calin Georgescu, and detained him for questioning in a bogus prosecution, it now arises that Georgescu has been BARRED from running in the May poll, in which he is the leading candidate, favorite with 40% of vote intentions.
Bucharest has exploded in chaos after the decision was announced.
Romania Actualitati reported (via Mario Nawfal)
“Romania’s Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) has officially rejected Calin Georgescu’s candidacy, voting 10-4 against him—citing claims that his speech and behavior are “incompatible” with the office of president.
This politically charged decision follows appeals demanding his disqualification, despite Georgescu polling above 40% and previously clearing all registration requirements. Georgescu’s team now has 24 hours to appeal to the Constitutional Court (CCR), which must issue a final, unappealable ruling within 48 hours.
With public outrage growing and protests escalating, Romania’s election is turning into a battle over political suppression.”
