Italy: New leader of the Social Democrats is one of Soros’ ‘preferred politicians’

During the election campaign, Elly Schlein presented herself as the standard-bearer of the poorest. However, her background and previous work raise doubts about her honesty.

In Italy, the Partito Democratico (PD) has elected Elly Schlein as its new leader, mainstream media reported. She will be the first woman to lead the party. During the election campaign, Schlein repeatedly portrayed herself as a campaigner for the poor. However, her pro-migration background and previous work raise questions, according to the Byoblu portal.

For most of her career, Elly Schlein seems to have confined herself to supporting the Social Democrat agenda, especially in its more liberal variations. For example, in 2008 and 2012, she volunteered for the election campaign that brought President Barack Obama to the White House. And this despite the fact that in 2012 the world had already recognized the disastrous migratory effects of the Arab Spring instigated by the new American President and his Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Protesting against Covid policy

In Italy, a parliamentary commission of inquiry taking a close look at the government’s Covid policy, has met with little or no enthusiasm from the PD. Especially since the rumor has been circulating that Italia Viva MP Davide Faraone is to take over the presidency. The former Secretary of State for Health was a staunch supporter of the “Green Passport”, which he described as a “sacrosanct” instrument.

However, the obstinacy with which the Democratic Party (Partito Democratico, PD) is trying to sabotage the birth of the commission raises some hopes that something useful could come of it, especially for the real losers: The most vulnerable.

Further evidence of this attitude was seen recently in the Social Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, where the future commission of inquiry was discussed. On behalf of the PD, MP Nicola Stumpo attacked the idea of an inquiry into Covid policy.

“It has never happened in any democratic country that a parliament has set up a commission of inquiry tasked with investigating the work of the government during a phase of the pandemic. A phase that was so complex that it put the tightness of the system to a severe test, and in which the institutions and politics as a whole were faced with such great tasks that they were overwhelmed.”

Stumpo apparently failed to notice that the European Parliament had set up a Covid commission. In it, for example, Pfizer executive Janine Small admitted that the company had never carried out immunity tests against SARS-CoV-2 for its Covid “vaccine”. In the United States, too, the new Speaker of the House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, recently announced a commission of inquiry into the origin of SARS-CoV2.

Soros protégé

Another controversial figure in Schlein’s world is George Soros. The Hungarian speculator, founder and financier of the Open Society Foundations, had written a detailed document listing the people he considered trustworthy within the European institutions. And the name of Elly Schlein features on his list, chosen during her time in the European Parliament between 2014 and 2019.

The Italian news portal also pointed out that the new PD secretary vehemently supported the measures taken during the “pandemic” – from lockdowns to “Green Passports” and vaccination mandates to injections for children.

This happened while Emilia Romagna – the region where Schlein was vice president – became the laboratory for controversial social experiments. These included the introduction of a “points driving license” for renters of social housing in some municipalities in the region and the “smart citizen wallet”, a forerunner of the EU’s carbon credit system in the city of Bologna.

Byoblu summed it up: “Elly Schlein is therefore the representative of that PD that cries out for fascism. […] It’s hard to imagine that the new secretary of a party […] that has lost more than three million votes since 2013, can get back on its feet.”
