In the frenzied fight against non-violent patriots, real threats to the state are completely ignored. A current case in the highly sensitive security sector exposes the lack of understanding in the Austrian federal government. Has there been targeted infiltration by Islamists?
Christian Lausch, a member of the National Council from the Freedom Party, has received information that a trainee police officer had to abandon his training a few days ago due to links to the Islamist scene, which is known to pose a high risk of terrorism, and was dismissed. The suspect was able to complete his training as a judicial police officer for almost two years before intervention finally took place shortly before the final service examination.

Christian Lausch, himself a prison guard, asked a number of critical questions that the federal government must now answer. ‘Where was the Directorate for State Security and Intelligence (DSN) during this time? How was it possible for this person to be accepted into the judicial guard service in the first place and remain unchallenged as an obvious security risk for almost two years? Did they deliberately turn a blind eye here? Prisons are extremely sensitive areas for the security of our population, which is why the Green Justice Minister must answer all questions!’. The FPÖ MP also announced a parliamentary enquiry into the incident.

For Lausch, there is an ‘urgent need for clarification’ regarding the activities of the Islamism suspect during his training, which are also ‘of the highest security relevance’. Many Islamists convicted or suspected of terrorism are imprisoned in prisons. It stands to reason that this trainee could have come into contact with these inmates during his practical phase, during which he was given full insight into all the internal processes of a prison. ‘The mere thought that someone here for 22 months, whose job is actually to protect our population from Islamist terrorists, could in reality have been a “brother in spirit” of these terrorists is shocking and must not remain without consequences,’ says Lausch.
