Germany: Afghan stabs woman in the neck and head with a knife – she flees, falls on the ground, he continues to stab her

Dangerous knife attack on the banks of the River Main! A young Ukrainian woman (41) was stabbed there on Monday afternoon. The suspected perpetrator: a young Afghan (19).
The police arrested the man, who according to information from newspaper BILD had never been known to the police, shortly afterwards. He had hidden from the police in a bush. The public prosecutor’s office is investigating attempted murder.
The young woman, who had fled to Germany to escape the war in Ukraine, had sat down on a park bench on the banks of the River Main at around 1.55 pm. Out of nowhere, the perpetrator approached her from behind, grabbed her by the shoulder and stabbed her several times in the head and neck with a cutter knife.
The victim managed to free herself from his grip and ran away. But she didn’t make it, after only a few metres she stumbled and fell. The knifeman did not give up, rushed after her and stabbed the woman who was lying on the ground again.

Passers-by heard her screams and rushed to her aid. Just at that moment, the young man let go of the woman and fled in the direction of Oskar-von Miller-Straße. The witnesses provided first aid and called 911.
The police that were called soon managed to arrest the suspect, who had been hiding in a bush in Oskar-von-Miller-Straße. According to BILD, he still had the cutter knife with him. According to BILD research, he is named Mohammad Zaman A..
Chief public prosecutor Dominik Mies: ‘The civil courage of the passers-by deserves special praise. This and the excellent police work led to the quick arrest of the suspect, possibly preventing worse things from happening.”
A magistrate sent Mohammad Zaman A. to pre-trial detention.
