
A 24-year-old employee of a petrol station in Dogern is said to have attacked a customer with a knife on Wednesday, causing life-threatening injuries. According to the police and public prosecutor’s office, the incident occurred at around 5 pm. The 37-year-old victim was able to escape into his car and flee from the petrol station.
With life-threatening injuries, he was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Waldshut, where his condition is now stable. The suspected attacker was arrested by the police at the scene a short time later.
The public prosecutor’s office in Waldshut-Tiengen intends to obtain a warrant for the arrest of the 24-year-old Afghan national on urgent suspicion of attempted murder in the course of Wednesday.
According to the current state of the investigation, the attacker and the victim are said not to have known each other and there is currently no reliable information on the suspect’s possible motive. The suspect had appeared in the past for possession of narcotics. The investigations by the public prosecutor’s office and the criminal investigation department are ongoing.
