German coup: Reich citizens failed dismally with recruitment attempts

New details are becoming known about the large-scale raid against Reich citizens. Fewer than ten people were recruited for the planned 280 “homeland security units” and according to investigators, there was no acute danger at the time of the raid.

In order to take control after the coup d’état, the recruitment efforts of the Reich citizens arrested last week apparently failed across the board. According to information from Junge Freiheit, all in all, the “military arm” as described by the Federal Public Prosecutor is said to have comprised eight people.

Members of the Internal Affairs Committee have been briefed by representatives of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office and the Presidents of the Federal Criminal Police Office and the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Holger Münch and Thomas Haldenwang.

Shortly after the raid, the Ministry of the Interior stated that three firearms had been confiscated. These were presumably the only illegal firearms.

Meanwhile, the AfD is drawing its first conclusions from the raid. The Hessian state association suspended the membership of a member who was arrested in the course of the raid. According to the Hessenschau the woman was intended as “Minister for Transcommunication and Spiritual Affairs”.

“The Reich citizens are on the AfD’s incompatibility list, so their membership was canceled on Saturday afternoon when we became aware of the process,” AfD country chief Robert Lambrou told the dpa news agency.

In the case of the former member of the Bundestag Birgit Malsack-Winkemann, who was also arrested, the AfD federal executive board is also considering measures. To do this, they want to submit an application to the Federal Public Prosecutor General for inspection of the files. However, it is considered impossible that this will be granted. “The AfD firmly rejects any attempts to move us close to a suspected terrorist organization,” a spokesman for the party told German daily Die Welt.
