Two police officers were attacked and threatened in Carpentras late on Sunday afternoon. A 25-year-old woman pointed a pistol at them in the street. The police officers kept cool and were able to arrest the woman, who suffers from a mental disorder.
The young woman pulled a pistol out of her pocket when she saw the two police officers from Carpentras. The woman, who is from Monteux, shouted “Allah Akbar” and then threatened to “shoot” the police officers.The Carpentras police officers had their service weapons drawn but kept cool. Fortunately, no shots were fired. The young woman is known to have mental health problems and one of the policemen discovered a broken part on the alarm pistol. The police officers negotiated with the young woman to calm her down and then took her to the police station. The young woman had been using drugs.
