A person armed with a tool attacked and injured passers-by in the Rue Robert-Collet in Le Mans on Saturday morning, February 5, 2022. The man was holding a Koran and shouting “Allah akbar”. He then entered the La Foir’Fouille shop before being arrested by the police.
(…) A man randomly threatened and attacked several passers-by on Rue Robert-Collet in Le Mans, near the Carrefour Centre Sud shopping centre.
Armed with a tool (a screwdriver) and holding a Koran, he shouted “Allah akbar” (God is great) several times. He injured three people, but not seriously, according to our sources.
The perpetrator then entered the La Foir’Fouille shop. The police were quickly on the scene and arrested him, which was difficult due to the attacker’s resistance. Ouest-France
