France: Memorial for teacher Samuel Paty murdered by Islamists destroyed by “young men”

On October 16, France commemorated Samuel Paty one year after his murder. The ceremony was disrupted by some people in schools, with some students and parents even endorsing the teacher’s murder. On Friday November 12, BFMTV reported that Samuel Paty’s memory was once again besmirched by detractors. In Manosque, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region, a shop window with a tribute to the teacher was pelted with stones by a group of people.

The gang was seen by neighbours destroying this symbolic place, but the persons quickly fled. The damaged display case was on the façade of the city’s Saint-Charles College. The Digne-les-Bains public prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators. The photos in the display case were not stolen. Although the damage caused by the stone throwing was only material, the symbol standing for Samuel Paty was attacked again.
