France: Man calls police station, mentions Islamic State and Allah, then says he will “blow everything up”

A 31-year-old man was arrested at his home in Somain, near Douai (northern France), on Thursday night. He is accused of calling the town’s police station several times, referring to the Islamic State (IS) group and claiming that he would “blow everything up”.

The Somain police received several anonymous threatening calls last weekend. On the other end of the phone line, one man mentioned Daech and Allah, among other things. “He claimed that he was going to blow everything up and that he was waiting for the police officers armed,” said a source close to the investigation.

Police identified a suspect and went to his house around midnight on Thursday night, taking maximum precautions. The 31-year-old man fled through a window when he saw the officers, but was quickly arrested. He was already known to the police and was taken into police custody.  Actu 17
