A couple was attacked with a knife in a metro station, the perpetrator was overpowered by a witness.
The perpetrator, who was picked up by a witness, accused the young woman of having a date with a European, whereupon the latter was stabbed in the chest.
On Saturday, at around 1 am, a violent assault occurred at the Saxe-Gambetta metro station in Lyon (3rd district). A young man was stabbed by a perpetrator who was harassing his girlfriend.
The assailant, who was about 20 years old, attacked the young woman and accused her of dating a European. The woman intervened and told the man to calm down, but he pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the chest.
He then tried to stab the young woman and probably would have done so had it not been for the courageous intervention of a witness who was able to disarm him and hold him until the police arrived and arrested him. (…) Le Progrès
I would have snapped his neck if I were the witness, taken the scumbag out.
